The data is not saved in one of the LOV field

Hi all,
I have two forms in two different pages, both are pretty much identical, except here and there show/hide some of the field and different LOV values. One of the form is working fine, but other form is giving me trouble. There is an LOV in that form, giving and returning proper value. (I checked it with java script alert). But it is not saving in the database. I tried to upload the files to the OTN, but since i could not upload the whole application because of data complexity, I am not able to successfully upload that into the application. (But it is in the Export Repository). As far as I checked, I copied the working form page into not working form page and make the necessary changes. I did not change any property specifically to that field. Any idea what I should be looking into. Thanks.

Thank you very much for your response. I tried what you have suggested. But still it was not working. But what I found out was it is not displaying what I have selected after I press "Save". But it actually saved in the database. So, I kind of getting a little confuse and do more research why it is doing that. Finally I found out the problem is with the datatype. First form has two characters in the return value and this page has only one character. I used CHAR(2) as the datatype for that field and turned out it is appending space at the end since it has only one character. For that I do not see anything on the screen. I changed the datatype to VARCHAR2 and now the problem resolved. Thank you once again for your time.

In the purchase order header custom tab i am added a screen exit field .In the purchase order creation mode the screen exit field is saving.But in the change mode if i am changing only the screen exit field then it is showing as 'no data to save' and not saving .But at the same time if i am changing some standard field with the screen exit field then both the field is saving.
I have to activate any field to save the screen exit field.Please let me know any exit to be activated for saving the data.

HT1688 Is the headphone also covered in warranty? The audio is not working on one of the channels alone.

My headphone stopped working properly on one of the channels. It came along with my iPhone4S bought about 5 months back. My question, Is my headphone also covered under 1 year warranty. Has anyone had similar problems and got their unit replaced?

HELP: Formula Item data is not saved to database

Hi:
I've added a formula in a database item but when i commit the form the data is not saved to the database. When i am working on form the item reflects the formula value, but when i commit the value is not stored in the database.

It is not clearly stated in the help file I agree. With a little PLSQL code you could copy the item to a hidden database field and have it be saved to the database. See Note 43012.1 on Metalink for details.

Switching data between MacBooks (everything from one to the other)

I need a faster notebook for business. My wife's MacBook is newer than mine and has agreed to switch with me.
Both laptops are backed up to the same Airport Time Capsule.
What is the best way to switch the data on both machines, from one to the other?

There are probably other ways to do this.
One way to accomplish what you want to do is to make a current backup of both computers. For an option in case there is a Time Machine problem, I would also make a clone of each hard drive and temporarily store the clone on the Time Capsule.
Boot into the Recovery Volume (hold down command - R or hold down option key) and restart. I would run Disk Utility Repair Permissions and Verify/Repair. Then use Disk Utility to erase the disk. The format is Mac OS Extended (Journaled). Then reinstall the OS.
Reinstall OS
Reboot normally and then attempt to inherit the Time Machine backup for the computer you are working on. Use Setup Assistant or Migration Assistant to restore the backup. Using the same user account name as on the old computer may make things easier.

If for some reason you have trouble inheriting the Time Machine backup, attach the Time Capsule to the computer, mount the clone in Finder, and copy the files you want to restore.
Once everything is completed, you can delete the clones from the Time Capsule to allow more room for the Time Machine backups.
I would seriously consider buying a 2nd Time Capsule and create two separate backups before attempting anything. One backup isn’t enough because hard drives do fail. Time Machine will allow you to backup to 2 disks and will alternate between them. Instead of using Time Machine on the 2nd hard drive, you might want to consider using the second drive to store a clone on because you can make a bootable clone.

Multiple MIDI takes on the same track - can only find one in the editor?

After making several passes on an instrument track w/drum sampler on it I opened the piano roll editor to edit the data only to find only one of the passes represented there. I could only find the other passes when I moved the current one out of the track temporarily. There must be a better way to do this, can anyone hip me to the right way to edit all the data in the multiple passes at the same time? I can hear all the data, I just can't see all of it.
I'm doing this so I only have to instantiate the Virtual Instrument once in the session, CPU is always at a premium these days. I have done the bulk of my work in recent years in ProTools but I have found Logic Express 8 to be far more efficient with CPU load on my core 2 duo Macbook. I suspect I'm just missing something but I cannot seem to figure it out. Help?

I appreciate your comments but my issue was in editing the already recorded tracks. If you can find in those pages where it shows how to view all the data from the already recorded multiple MIDI tracks at the same time in the piano roll window and be able to edit them I'd be much obliged if you would point those out to me. I double checked your recommendation after reading your first reply, the answer I needed was not there.
Evidently you can only select and view one region at a time no matter how many there are in the same track. I have searched the LE 8 pdf manual and also searched thru an Apple Logic Pro Training series book for version 7 JIC it had some additional insight into this particular issue and came up empty, that's why I was asking for additional insight on this panel. I always go to the documentation first - RTFM is first call for me.
I've already figured the workaround and I'll know better next time to allow Logic to create its own multiple take folders so as far as I'm concerned this case is closed. Thank you again for your input.

You can still do it, the process just changes a bit...
Copy the control to a new VI as before, and change it into a control.
Create the diagram shown in the attached screen shot.
Run the new VI. You will get two arrays: one of x-axis values and one of y-axis values.

LS Getting the error "The data could not be saved because the server could not be contacted" when deploying on my local desktop

I have a very simple test LS App:
1 Table "Person" with 1 property "Name"
One totally standard Editable Grid
So no complicated calculations that could timed out...
When I hit F5 the screen launches and shows the data, but when I try to create a new Person it waits for about 2 minutes and then the following error appears:
The data could not be saved because the server could not be contacted. Please check your network connection and try saving again. The Operation timed out.
Despite the error the data gets persisted on the database.
I am on VS 2013 Pro Update 4 and SQL Server LocalDB 2012 (v11.0).

If you decide to try again I would:
1) Uninstall Visual Studio
2) Uninstall SQL Server (all versions)
3) Re-install SQL Server
4) Re-Install Visual Studio

Hello, I'm a beginner in ligthswitch, so, I made a couple of screens and I made the database and attach to the application but when i want to save the new records shows me this error:
The data could not be saved because the server could not be contacted. Please check your network connection and try saving again.
The operation has timed out.
I verify the database, the record is saved but the application show me the error.
Please help me I have to deliver this screens today.

I researched this error message, I think you can try the methods below:
Increase the timeout of the connection between the client and the server
Increase Client timeout, and it is set in the Application class in the Client Project

Hi, i had created SharePoint designer workflow (send Email) for Document Library.
I had created Custom columns like.
"Employee Name" of type Person or Group
"Resume Type" of type Choice
When i attach my workflow to document library, the columns data is not saved.
It is just uploading resume, and sends email to the user groups, but data is not saved for custom columns. !.e "Employee Name" and "Resume Type".
Any help will be appreciated.

In SharePoint Document Library, first the document will be uploaded and then the metadata will be updated. So, in your workflow settings, select start workflow when item is changed instead of item is created and then try.

If Records of different list items are entered, then the data is not getting inserted in the table.

If P_TYPE='P' , then the data must get saved in KEC_FDACCT_DTL table.
The problem what is happening is,
If i enter the details with all the records as 'P' , the record gets inserted into the table KEC_FDACCT_DTL
If i enter the details with records of 'P' and 'R' , then nothing gets inserted into the table KEC_FDACCT_DTL.
Even the records with 'P' is not getting updated.
I want the records of 'P' , to be inserted into table KEC_FDACCT_DTL, even when multiple records of all types of 'P_Type' (R, w & P) are entered.
So, can you please help me with this.

In the HEADDATA structure, STORAGE_VIEW should also be set as 'X' , in order to update storage location data
for example
BAPI_HEAD-STORAGE_VIEW = 'X'.
Also, PUR_STATUS corresponds to field MARA-MSTAE whose domain has value table T141, therefore values in the field are checked against T141

I am opening a popup screen on button click and On the popup screen, I have added the VO as form with submit button.
On the popup fetchlistener, I calling a bean method to invoke the createInsert action as follows.

When I am clicking on submit button in popup screen, data is appearing on the mainpage table but the same is not saving in the database. One more I have observed that doDML is not calling means SOP's are not comming from doDML method in the entity class.
Please do the needful, its an urgent issue to reslove.

Can you please specify that for your attributes CreatedBy and CreationDate , are you using automatic insert value from your entity or not? Or you are passing default values programatically in doDML() method.
I guess for every new row your are using User name for CreatedBy field and current date for CreationDate field,
Why don't you set these field at the time of creation of new row, Override Create() method in your entity bean and then you can set these fields to there default values. and now you should remove Mandatory property to unchecked for these fields in entity also.
like i'm doing here - I'm setting sequence number as default to field insertedLineNo

Data is not saving using BDT

Hi All,
I have enhanced BP screen using BDT .
I have created fields in already exisitng role and tab and the data is not getting saved in ztable .
there is one tcode called BUS7 where I need to give FM for dsave and few other events. I have defined all the events and Executed but unfortunately none of the events are getting called. I have put a break-point no use no event is getting called,
Kindly let me know any one got the same kind of issue.

y dont you use existing BADI to capture these details into Z table .im not sure y its not triggering your events,but using BADI you can save data into Ztable .
i have done same thing , if user didnt goto my customer Tab..then my Customer Events and FM to capture data , so i have coded in both BADI and FMs .

Problem in report of cats_da data is not coming for one absence type.

Dear experts,
For one absence type the data is not coming in the report cats_da. When I check the other absence type the report is showing the data. I dont know where is the problem. Customer is entering data throught PA30 transaction. Kindly help me where is the problem in customization.
