The Dreaded Stack Backtrace

Do any of you guys have a solid approach to stack backtraces?
We are running a nomadic client, which has an embedded activeX control for IE. We are also running 3.0.M.0. The following stack backtrace occurs when the user is running asp scripts in the embedded browser - we are sure its a problem with the script, but cannot locate it. Does anyone know of a good trace flag to use in this situation, or perhaps there is another trick?
Thanks! - Kurt.
Heres the backtrace........

Tue Jul 22 21:41:44 : End of Stack Backtrace =========================================================

Hi Kurt,
There is a forte trace flag: trc:fo:xx used to trace the foreign object interface. I haven't got the actual values for ActiveX so you may have to play with the values a bit. trc:fo basically traces activity for DCE, OLE, IIOP.
Hope this helps...
Cheers!

  • The dreaded Restart Screen

My PB has gotten into the habit of requiring a restart every 30 minutes or so. I'll be working and the dreaded grey/black screen comes down saying that I need to restart my computer (the one with the power image). I've rebuilt the drive twice using Disk Warrior. I've also checked the computer several times using Disk Genius. They both keep telling me that there are no problems, but still the dreaded screen returns. I attempted to take my laptop to my local Apple store, but there was at least a 3 hour wait. Is there any advice you can offer?

Here is the last one before I turned it on to answer your question.

  • Stack Backtrace

    Hi All,
We're getting stack backtrace error in our deployed application. It
is very inconsistent. I looked at archives to find more about it, I
could not find useful information. I really do not have any idea why
it is happening. I made sure that all the widgets are named in all
windows. I have seen the same error before in following situations:
    1. When a actualSize attribute is used on a constant string, like
    lLength : Integer = kConstant.actualSize;
    2. When setViewNodes is called on ListView with NIL and later if
we call getViewNodes on a same listview.
Are there any other situations that you have experienced stack
backtrace problem? Is there any explanation for it?
    Thanks in advance,
    Ramarao

    Hi,
Is your application running compiled? If yes, you may want to switch it to
interpreted mode and it would usually return some more meaning message like
method name, line numbers and so.
Moreover, watch for NIL objects and FORTE_STACK_SIZE too. In compiled mode,
it would "bomb" your program if you mistakenly use NIL object or
    FORTE_STACK_SIZE being too small.
    Best regards,
    Peter Sham.

    Hi,
Have you tried Cancelling the release before adding the version?
Select the active version of the IDOC Segment and cancel its release first. Only then you will be able to add a version.
Please let me know if it worked!

  • How to delete the error stack in process chain?

    Hi all,
we just want to do the following:
    - we are loading in FULL daily to our datatarget (data is versionized by 0calday)
    - we want to use the error-stack in order to analyze wrong data
--> but we now encounter the problem that, if data has once been added to the error stack and has not been handled yet, all data from the next daily load will be sorted out as records with this key do already exist in the error-stack. But that's exactly what we want to avoid.
with other words: how can we delete the records in the error stack by a report by e.g. using this in a process chain?
    Thanks in advance,
    Best regards,

Dbl click that DTP.... From menu... Extras -> Setting for Error Stack
Here U can see error stack table name /BIC/B0001234000.
Using SE38, create simple program "Delete from /BIC/B0001234000"
In the process chain, add process type "ABAP Program" to add above deletion statement.

I accidentally deleted the download stack, but managed to get it back. How can I change back to stack view?

Right-click on the folder icon on the dock where you put it. Change it from 'Display As: Folder' to 'Display As: Stack'.
After that you'll be all set.

    Dear Guru's,
I am not able to solve the above issue for last couple of days.
I am newbie to the webservice
    My Issue...
    I am using Jdeveloper 11.1.2.4.0 Release 2
    1. Using Jdev I built one small Web Service with two methods.
            While testing the Webservice...
I passed User Id as Parameter and it successfully return the values (user id, user name and description) from fnd_user table
    2. I created another application to consume the web service i created.
                   1. I added the webservice SOAP and added the method.
                   2. Created a jsf page and drag and drop the parameter and return values to the jsf page.
    3. While executing the created jsf page I received the error message as below

  • After getting the dreaded gray/blue screen, I tried to run disk repair on the internal disk. I got an error message saying "Disk Utility can't repair this disk and restore your backed-up files. The volume Macintosh HD could not be verified completely

After getting the dreaded gray/blue screen, I tried to run disk repair on the internal disk. I got an error message saying "Disk Utility can't repair this disk and restore your backed-up files. The volume Macintosh HD could not be verified completely." What do I do now? This is an iMac and I'm running 10.6.8.

    Clean Install of Snow Leopard
Be sure to make a backup first because the following procedure will erase
the drive and everything on it. See below for how to clone a drive.
         1. Boot the computer using the Snow Leopard Installer Disc or the Disc 1 that came
with your computer.  Insert the disc into the optical drive and restart the computer.
After the chime press and hold down the  "C" key.  Release the key when you see
a small spinning gear appear below the dark gray Apple logo.
         2. After the installer loads select your language and click on the Continue
button. When the menu bar appears select Disk Utility from the Utilities menu.
After DU loads select the hard drive entry from the left side list (mfgr.'s ID and drive
size.)  Click on the Partition tab in the DU main window.  Set the number of
partitions to one (1) from the Partitions drop down menu, click on Options button
and select GUID, click on OK, then set the format type to MacOS Extended
(Journaled, if supported), then click on the Apply button.
         3. When the formatting has completed quit DU and return to the installer.  Proceed
with the OS X installation and follow the directions included with the installer.
         4. When the installation has completed your computer will Restart into the Setup
Assistant. Be sure you configure your initial admin account with the exact same
username and password that you used on your old drive. After you finish Setup
Assistant will complete the installation after which you will be running a fresh
install of OS X.  You can now begin the update process by opening Software
Update and installing all recommended updates to bring your installation current.
Download and install Mac OS X 10.6.8 Update Combo v1.1.
You may be able to backup your data if you have an erased external drive you can use. Before you do the above but after you have opened Disk Utility you can try to clone your drive:
Clone using Restore Option of Disk Utility
      1. Open Disk Utility.
      2. Select the destination volume from the left side list.
      3. Click on the Restore tab in the DU main window.
      4. Select the destination volume from the left side list and drag
it to the Destination entry field.
      5. Select the source volume from the left side list and drag it to
          the Source entry field.
      6. Double-check you got it right, then click on the Restore button.
Destination means the external backup drive. Source means the internal startup drive.
Now this will only work if the drive is accessible and can be cloned by Disk Utility. Otherwise, you would need to access your drive from another Mac that you can connect via Firewire - Target Disk Mode.

I tried to put this file in inbox and tried to run the jspm but it is not recognizing this as a valid file and its expecting   JSPM02P-2-20002796.SCA. I couldnt find this file can anyone suggest me where i could find this file.

When you download the files, be sure to select "Save As File", which next to the "Add to Download Basket" button. Copy that SPStab.xml file to your EPS/in directory. Without that, it won't recognize the files even if they are there.

  • After upgrading, I am getting the dreaded "iTunes has stopped working" message.  I've followed all of the troubleshooting tips on the forum without success.  Fortunately, it works on my other computers.  Running Win7 pro.

After upgrading iTunes, I'm getting the dreaded "iTunes has stopped working" message after launch.  I've tried the troubleshooting tips on the Forum without success (though most are pretty old...).  Fortunately, iTunes works on my other computers, but I have iPad backups on this one that I'd like to keep.  Anybody else with this issue??

My inclination is that it is something in the projects or in the manuals being linked that is the culprit because that is where the consistency lies - projects were created identically and manuals all follow identical formats. The problem typically only occurs after the project has been successfully created and the manual is subsequently updated and I am syncing the manual in RH so I can generate a new AIR file. This is the first time the project has consistently corrupted every time I try to generate the Word document after linking it in RH. This makes little sense to me since it generated fine a couple weeks ago and I did nothing special when I updated it in Word yet when I tried to update it in RH, that is when it originally corrupted. The bottom line is that I cannot 100% trust that any project I run will work the next time. I end up just crossing my fingers and hoping for the best.
My problems seemed to start once I went to RH9 (from RH8) because we had upgraded from MS Office 2003 to the 2010 version and I needed 9 for the docx extension. Like I said, it is not all the time - I can be beating my head against the wall getting one of the projects to work, then create 3 more projects that have no problems and then the next one leaves me wanting to throw my PC through a window....
Deleting the CPD does not corrupt the project, it just removes my default linked document that allows me to circumvent linking the styles individually for that project. Once I have a manual linked and I remove the CPD, it just creates a new one. What I am saying is that if I delete the CPD file, it does not prevent the project from corrupting nor does it make the corrupted project viable again.
    thanks!
    Kathi
