My DVR security sofware that I access remotely uses a "dvr .ocx" file....when I try it in Firefox , either the latest non beta (3.6.1.5) or the new beta version (4.0 rc) it will NOT work as it says the plugin is missing... it works in IE 8,but not IE9...

My machine is Top of the range (my Company builds them so it had better be :) )
Amd 1100t , 8gb ram , Windows 7 64 bit etc, etc...
The is not a hardware problem , but a software problem with FF...Any help would be appreciated as I hate using IE 8 for anything at all :( but I have to keep it on my machines just to run my remote security cameras at my Computer shop ???

As I own a Computer company I am fairly computer literate but cannot find a plugin that allows this to work in Firefox.... but I would have expected it to work in the new Firefox :(

The longer this thread continues, the more ancillary comments you throw in that aren't directly pertinent to your problem with your DVR software not working with Firefox 4.0. Sorry, I don't intend to continue with this discussion.
I do agree that ''something'' needs to be done better with regards to plugins for Firefox, but I do disagree with you as to whose responsibility that ''something'' is.

Some things to try first:
1. Turn Off your iPad. Then turn Off (disconnect power cord for 30 seconds or longer) the wireless router & then back On. Now boot your iPad. Hopefully it will see the WiFi.
2. Go to Settings>Wi-Fi and turn Off. Then while at Settings>Wi-Fi, turn back On and chose a Network.
3. Change the channel on your wireless router (Auto or Channel 6 is best). Instructions at http://macintoshhowto.com/advanced/how-to-get-a-good-range-on-your-wireless-netw ork.html
4. Go into your router security settings and change from WEP to WPA with AES.
5. Renew IP Address: (especially if you are droping internet connection)
    •    Launch Settings app

    •    Tap on the blue arrow of the Wi-Fi network that you connect to from the list
    •    In the window that opens, tap on the Renew Lease button

There's two different versions of Flash. The ActiveX version for IE, and the Plugin version for other browsers. Did you install the correct version? This forum's software doesn't thing that Flash is installed for Firefox or the Plugin is disabled.
1.Download the Flash setup file from here:

Save it to your Desktop. 
2. Close Firefox using File > Exit

Free upgrade to Mountain Lion didn't download and now my code will not work again!

Okay so I bought a new MacBook Pro on Sunday and as Mountain Lion has only just come out and I have just bought my notebook I qualify for the free upgrade from Lion to Mountain Lion. After filling in all the required information I recieved my redeem code and it started to download. After several failed attempts with the same error message of "Hash Mismatch" appearing I finally gave up and left it for a day or so. As I have come on to my laptop today in an attemt to download to update, I have looked everywhere in App Store (purchases, downloads) and Mountain Lion is not anywhere. I have also tried to re enter the codes but it is saying that the codes have already been used etc.
So now I am stuck and do not know what to do and I really dont want to have to pay the money to get Mountain Lion when I should be able to get it for free.
Any help you could give me would be appreciated, even if it is just an apple support number that I could call and get everything sorted out.

After you press download, check your Launchpad. The icon will show up with what looks like a white dot where you'd expect to see a progress bar. That white dot actually is the progress bar, as ML is a 4GB download and can take anywhere from 1 to 15 hours, depending on your connection speed. Default security code will not work

hi i am once again experiencing alot of problems with my nokia 6085 and i want to do a restore factory settings but when i put in the security code which is the default one of 12345 it says code error, but i have never changed the code.

There is no mastercode. You have the default code which is 12345. If that is changed then your options are
1. Get the phone reflashed.
2. On some phones the reset function will also reset the code to 12345.
You could try the second option but no guarantees it will work on your phone. Also, you may lose all your data if you reset the phone so remember to back it up before resetting.
Always remember to backup your phone before performing resets as your data may be lost.
First try these
*#7780# - Restore factory settings - resets all the settings to the default
*#7370# - Reformat your phone

Eprint code will not work

Printer is a photosmart wireless B110. Everything is set up fine, works fine and all firmware is updated.
Monday: get printer code, try adding it to the eprint center and keep getting told it is an invalid code.
I disabled web enabled services but due to server errors was unable to re-enable them and get a new code until late Wednesay evening.
Thursday: go back to eprint center, try adding the new code and again told that it is invalid.
I am the only occupant in the house so there are no other accounts linked to this printer or anything else. Could someone tell me what the problem might be and how to fix it please?

Try printing it again and see if it works, if it doesn't I'm not sure why you keep getting codes that aren't working but disable and re-enable web services again to see if a new code will work (yes, I know you did this once already). Let me know what happens and I will continue to help.

I seriously doubt that Apple will accept your iPad for service/exchange since it sounds like it's a real basket case. If they
Do accept it, the cost would be 99USD, but if it is a 64Gb model it will cost 199USD. The best thing for you to do is to take it into the nearest Apple store to see if they will accept it for repair/exchange. I can tell you that they definitely will not give you an iPhone in exchange.

First try Resetting it: Hold down the home and sleep button, ignore the red OFF slider, wait for the Apple logo then let go.
If that does not work, Restore your iPhone in iTunes from your backup.
If that still does not fix it, Restore your iPhone and a new phone (not from backup) and see how it works. If it is doing fine you have a app you are using that is probably causing your problem. Load them one and a time until the problems recur and you will have found the one that is a problem.

I have an update to my message posted yesterday regarding Firefox crash after vista update. Today it got worse when Firefox wouldn't open at all and Windows explorer also stopped working. Curiously, email was still working, and when I checked another (little used) account on the same PC, I got a perfect connection with Firefox and Explorer. I had to conclude that the latest updates of Vista have interacted with some application only found in my main account on the PC. I tried opening Firefox in its safe mode and I tried opening explorer without Plug ins, but neither worked. Finally I decided the only answer was to do a system restore and wind back the windows software to where it was before the problem. I now have Firefox and explorer restored to working order, but I still don't understand why, because I got a message saying the system restore hasn't worked. Full Comprehension of the cause is beyond my capability, but through trial and error as described above I seem to have fixed it. The suspect vista updates are KB2505189 , and KB2524375.
