The hard drive on my computer recently failed and was replaced. How do I get my playlist from my iPod to iTunes on my computer?
Recently, my hard drive crashed and we were unable to transfer my iTunes playlist to the new hard drive. I have all of my music on my iPod Touch. How can I copy it all back to my computer? Thanks!
iDevices are not backup devices.
Use the backup of the computer to put everything back.

My hard drive crashed and i lost all my rippped cd songs from the hard drive. Luckily they are all in icloud but how do i get ripped music from icloud to redownload back to the PC all in one go???
Hi,
The simplest solution would to restore from your back up - https://discussions.apple.com/docs/DOC-4112
If you do not have a back, you can select first track on list in song view, from menu > edit > select all. Next ctrl+click and select download from pop up. You may wish to do this in small batches as it will take some time to download.

I have three computers backing up onto the same Time Machine. The Hard drive of one has now failed, and I'd like to restore certain items (principally photographs) to one of the other two computers. How can I do this?
"You can also browse the original backup disk for past backups by using "Browse other Time Machine Disks"--to see this choice, hold the Option key then click the Time Machine menu in the Finder (to see the menu, "Show Time Machine status in the menu bar" must be selected in Time Machine preferences."

How can I get my playlists from my iPod to my new computer?
I already have all my songs on my new computer, but how can I get my playlists on my iPod touch and my iPad on the computer?
Just copy the entire iTunes library, including playlists, from the old to the new computer.

I was backing up my MacBook with Time Machine and using my new (correctly formatted) external hard drive. All was going well when my 2 yo knocked the disk leading to a "failure" by time machine (Latest Backup: Failed). Now the MacBook will not even recognize the hard drive. I have rebooted, tried all I can think of, but no acknowledgement of the drive. The drive itself makes noise and vibrates as if working, but nothing from the Mac. Please help or $100 down the drain... Thank you.
You may have already done these resets in the "tried all I can think of " portion of your post.....if not then here they are.....

i have lost my itunes library and did no save it or back it up. i want to no how i can get my music from my i pod back on to my itunes library again thanks
Your i-device was not designed to be a reliable unique storage for your media. It is not a backup device and everything is structured around you maintaining your media on a computer which is itself backed up. Sync transfer is one way, computer to device, matching the device content to the content on the computer (except purchased content as mentioned below). For transferring other items from an i-device to a computer you will probably have to use third party commercial software unless you have an older model iPod. Examples (check the web for others; this is not an exhaustive listing, nor do I have any idea if they are any good):
iTunes Store: Transferring purchases from your iOS device or iPod to a computer - http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1848 - only media purchased from iTunes Store

Our hard drive crashed (it was the one that was recalled) and Apple replaced it. Is there a way to access our iTunes account and get our music/movies back? Or do we have to re-download everything? What about music we purchased?
Perhaps without a lecture level 10, it has long been a basic requirement to backup one's computer. Of course who would have thought one would have to backup something that is downloaded from a premium service like Apple's iTunes with the iCloud.
Much of the media purchased from Apple appears to be redownloadable, except for things that are arbitrarily not (because of licensing or whatever, but these reasons are not apparent to us, the lowly customer).
This is hard to understand until one has a problem, and finds the article listed above, or tries to enter a support ticket and ends up in the forum with someone who has obviously answered too many questions.
So how about we ask that a product manager at Apple consider a novel new feature - provide an online locker for movies purchased with real money through iTunes.
Let's call it iCloud and tell the world about it! -
I recently replaced the hard drive in my computer. I am afraid to download and reinstall itunes again because I worry about losing all the music I had on my iPod Nano. Any suggestions for solutions?
The dragging does not work:
- Transfer iTunes purchases by:
iTunes Store: Transferring purchases from your iOS device or iPod to a computer
- For other music you will need a third-party program like one of those discused here:
Copy music
- Connect the iPod to your compouter and make a backup by right clicking on the iPod under Devices in iTunes and select Back Up.
- Restore the iPod from that backup
Nothe that the backup that iTunees makes does not include synced media like apps nd music. -
I have a video that I created for my daughter's first birthday. The hard drive on my computer crashed and I lost the video file. The only place I have it is on my iPod Classic. How can I transfer the video from my iPod to my new hard drive?
You are in luck, Refer to this recent post by tt2, on recovering media using 3rd Party Software.
He has made a comprehensive list, browse through them and decide which suits your requirements.

The hard drive on our computer died and we lost all of our purchases in the account. Is there a way to recover the songs we have paid for? If we plug in our iPod to a new account, won't it erase everything during the synch process? Help!
If for some reason you have failed to maintain a backup copy of your computer ( not good), then transfer purchases form your ipod.

How to recreate iTunes Library
No content shows up in iTunes after updating -
I had toclear the hard drive of my computer and reinstall Windows 7. Now I want to transfer all the music and photos from my iPad back onto my computer. I authorized the computer (it is the ONLY computer authorized on this account - and this is the ONLY account on this iPad). ITunes then downloaded my purchases...or at least it tried - out of the hundreds of tracks I have purchased, it managed one album that I bought over a year ago and NOTHING else. So I tried to Sync - since on older versions of iTunes (that were SO MUCH MORE user friendly) that would do the job -transferring things that were only on the iPad onto the computer and vice versa. It doesn't do that anymore. So I went from my iPad's summary to the Music tab - the box for Music was not checked but when I checked it said the only thing it could do was erase EVERYTHING from my iPad and replace it with what was on my computer (that ONE album). What is going on?
Why hasn't iTunes downloaded my other purchases since I authorized the computer? (there are over 3,000 tracks...not 18)
How can I download my iPad to my computer?-Me again - it also won't upload the few new pictures I have on the computer onto the iPad without deleting all the photos that are already there....

My computer crashed and the hard drive is no longer. I have purchased a new laptop but now have no access to my old itunes library. My laptop has created a new itunes account with NOTHING in it?? My Itouch has everything loaded but it wont sync with this itunes account....HELP
- Transfer iTunes purchases:
iTunes Store: Transferring purchases from your iOS device or iPod to a computer
- Transfer other music by using a third-party program like one of those discussed here:
newer copy
- Connect the iPod to the computer and make a backup by right clicking on the iPod under Devices in iTunes and select Back Up
- Restore the iPod from that backup
Note that the iPod backup that iTunes makes does not included synced media like apps and music. -
