The letter "G" shows up in the start when I log in to my HTPC via SSH

When I log in to my HTPC via SSH the letter "G" shows up in the beginning:
[ Neytiri ~ ]> ssh hund@<IP> -p <port>
Last login: Fri May 14 08:54:06 2010 from [...]
G[hund@Fjuppen ~]$
I dont have this problem when I log in to my server via SSH. I'm using zsh on my workstation and bash on my HTPC and server. If I use bash on my workstation and log in to my HTPC the problem doesnt occur.
It doesnt causes any problems, but it's disturbing that it's there and that I cant solve it myself.

I am not sure what the problem is, but I might know where you can start searching for it.
I have had a similar problem but it was when I tried to convert the official init scripts to C. I got a G at the beginning and It didn't seem like the utf8 support worked for the console (å,ä, and ö didn't work). The problem that I had was that I couldn't get /etc/profile.d/locale.sh to execute correctly from within the C program, it might be that zsh doesn't execute the locale.sh script correctly. I don't have a solution for the problem since I am still trying to solve it myself.
Anyway. the script is partly generated from line 372 in rc.sysint (pkg: initscripts 2010.05-3):
echo 'if [ "$CONSOLE" = "" -a "$TERM" = "linux" -a -t 1 ]; then printf "\033%%G"; fi' >>/etc/profile.d/locale.sh
The generated /etc/profile.d/locale.sh looks something like this (it may of course look different but that depends on the utf8 and locale settings in your rc.conf):
export LANG=sv_SE.utf8
if [ "$CONSOLE" = "" -a "$TERM" = "linux" -a -t 1 ]; then printf "\033%%G"; fi

You need to do the basic troubleshooting steps described in the User Guide, Appendix B.
    Restart phone
    Reset phone
Restore in iTunes using a backup
Restore in iTunes as new, without using a backup
If restoring as new doesn't help, there is a hardware failure in the phone that needs evaluation by Apple.

  • The installation does not start when I log in to Adobe Download Assistant.

When I downloaded the program (Ae) it took me to the download assistant; which allows you to sign and start the installation process on its own. I am having a problem with the installation starting when I sign in. Once I sign in it gives me some programs I could download, but are not what I am looking for. Please help.

What computer/OS are you trying to download After Effects on?
Make sure that your computer meets the System requirements for running After Effects. For example, AE requires a 64-bit operating system. If you're on a 32-bit version, you will be unable to install AE.
If you meet the system requirements, try one of the following:
Restart the browser and from the website, try downloading After Effects again.
Sign in to Adobe Download Assistant, and then from the Show Me menu choose Video, and then click the left/right arrows till you find After Effects CS6.

If you're using it in bright light, you may be getting sunlight through the back of the machine which can wash out the display.  The Apple logo on the back of the lid is actually a cut-out that uses the systems back light to make it glow.  Bright light (especially sunlight) can actually shine through the back.  As the users in the login are typically in the middle of the display, this is the area most likely to be washed out as that is where the Apple logo is.  You can try just putting your hand over the Apple logo on the back to block the sunlight when trying to log in.

  • Weblogic admin console fails to start when commons logging is used.

I have an application that requires commons logging.
I followed the instructions as per the documentation and other forum entries such as How to use log4j into weblogic 10.3 to add the commons logging jar from apache and the weblogic jar specified. Plus I set the system property for the LogFactory.
When I start up the application server I see messages as expected from my application. But when I start up the weblogic Admin console I get and exception and the console fails to start. I even tried to put the jars in my applicaiton instead of the domain/lib directory to try to iscolate the issue but still got issues with starting the Console.
Any ideas on why this is occuring?

Thank you for replying. Yes that is the first place we looked and tried. Actually to be more specific we followed the instrcutions under: "How to Use the Commons API with WebLogic Logging Services" of the same link.
Are you thinking that maybe we are we missing a step somewhere else within the site?
Not sure if I was clear before but we are using Weblogic 10.3 and also tried up to version 10.3.3. And we get the same results.
We prefer to use the method with commons logging for our application.
One more specific here what we did on our last attempt.
    1. added this to the startWeblogic script JAVAOPTIONS -Dorg.apache.commons.logging.LogFactory=weblogic.logging.commons.LogFactoryImpl
    2. we put the WebLogic-specific Commons classes, $BEA_HOME/modules/com.bea.core.weblogic.commons.logging_1.3.0.0.jar, together with the commons-logging.jar file in one of the following locations: APP-INF/LIB or WEB-INF/LIB directory or DOMAIN_NAME/LIB directory server CLASSPATH
We are still not able to get the Weblogic admin console to start
    Any other ideas?

  • Automatically SFC start when NC log recorded

    Hi,
When we use NC500 activity with new or in queue status SFC, it seems to make start the SFC automatically.
Doesn't ME allow to log NC to not started SFC?  I think that's possible case in customer manufacturing.
Otherwise, is there any setting to allow log NC without start SFC?
    Best Regards,
    Takahiro

    Hi ,Sergiy-san,
    Thanks for your information.
Based on your advice, we confirm 2 cases in ME 5.2 SP04 Patch 5. (Because of customer's version.)
(1.1) Use Standalone Failure Tracking activity (NC540). When we log NC with NC code A which has COMMENT data type.
=> In this time, the SFC logged NC is kept as "new" status, as you said.
(1.2) Use SFT and try to log NC which has DEFECT_COUNT data type. (As you know, NC500 activity allows to handle partial NC logging. So, we try to use it with SFT in order to keep the SFC as new/in queue status.)
=> But it's not possible to handle partial NC.
I guess the reason why is that NC540 activity doesn't have ALLOW_PARTIAL activity.
Is there any NC logging solution to allow both of to partial scrap and to keep SFC status as "new" or "in queue" status?
That's our customer want to do when they loss some of SFC during 2 operations.
We already develop custom functionality without automatic starting for mobile device. But some of users need this function by SAP ME original GUI.
Your kind information will be really appreciated.
    Best Regards,
    Takahiro

The laptop's too far away from the router to be connected by ethernet. It's all wifi.
No separate server app on the laptop, it's all samba
The files are on a windows laptop and a hard drive hooked up to the windows laptop. The windows share server is pants, so I'd need some sort of third party server running. Maybe you weren't suggesting to use Samba to connect to the windows share though?
I'm glad that you've all understood my ramblings and taken and interest, thanks The way I see it, I can't be the only netbook user these days looking for this kind of convenience, and I certainly won't be once chrome and moblin hit the market.

  • HT4759 The calendar on my IPhone 4S is not showing up on the calendar when I log into ICloud.

I am not seeing my the calendar that I use on my phone on the ICloud. I thought it automatically went up to the Cloud. There are a couple of items on the calendar but not all.....

Your phone has 2 (at least) calendars, iCloud and On My Phone, check which one you put them on.
If you add new events on your iOS device, but they do not move to iCloud or other devices, you may want to verify your Default Calendar settings. If you would like to create new events in a specific iCloud calendar, then set that calendar to be your Default Calendar. You can modify the Default Calendar settings in iOS at Settings > Mail, Contacts, Calendars > Default Calendar.

So my mum has an ipad and iphone and she wants to connect it to a laptop so she can add Cd's to her itunes and then to her ipad and phone But she doesnt want my itunes as she has bought stuff on her account So if I lgged out of m itunes on my computer will she be able to log in and add Cd's that way? ALso will my itunes be okay afterwards?

    Welcome to the Apple Community.
iTunes won't let you log into another account and use features such as automatic downloads, iTunes Match etc etc unless the account you are currently logged into has been logged in for at least 90 days. DON'T EVEN TRY IT.
Instead create a new user account for her on your computer and set up iTunes there for her, avoid using automatic downloads etc

  • Under firefox 4 i no longer see the padlock icon in the lower right of the screen when i log onto a secure site

The padlock icon is no longer visible for any site that requires a login

One of the main principles of Human Computer Interaction [HCI] is that there should be immediate visibility to the system's status. Forcing the user to "click" the identity site key and try to locate the lock-pad encryption icon is poor design. The icon has become a default standard expectation of the INTERNET user community across browsers. Internet Explorer, of which, I'm not a fan - has done away with a bottom bar, yet retained the padlock in the top right of the menu bar [it is conditionally displayed only when the site is secure]. Firefox has made a fundamental UI mistake, and amazingly trumped by the generally inferior Microsoft team. Don't follow the FF team and parrot the propaganda - 'yea we screwed up but you can determine the same thing by taking several extra steps- because we are FF team and you are just the peon users". Death of the open source community?

  • ST03N shows users accessing transactions even when not logged in

    Hello all...
We are trying to determine how many times a user executed a transaction during a specific period, and are using ST03N to do this.
We get the information fine, but it shows non-system users as having accessed transactions on days they are not logged in or it shows excessive use of a transaction (i.e 8000 times in a 20 day period).
We have confirmed that no batch jobs or system jobs are running or have run under their ID's.  Additionally, it shows use of transactions which the users are not authorized to use.
Please help as we are trying to explain this for SOX purposes.
    Cheers all!
    Joe Johnson

    Thanks for the replies...
We can use AL08, but it doesn't show any user activity for the specific users that keep popping up in ST03N.
RFC calls seem to be closest to explaining this, but how can one track the calls made by a user?  Additionally, if the ID is not authorized to perform a transaction shouldn't the RFC call fail?

  • I need help showing a users e-mail when they log in. Any help would be much appreciated!

    Hi,
Now that I am able to show someones username after they login using the code below, how in the world do I get a page to show their e-mail. For example when they go to change their e-mail address in the settings in says next to the form "Your current e-mail is set as ..." how do I get it to show?
    Username code:
    <?php echo $_SESSION['MM_Username']; ?>
Is it at all similar to this?
    Thank you for any help.

You are talking about setting the binding for the session variable. That does not create the session variable, just the binding for it. Take a look here to see how to create a session variable. Once the session variable is set you can set the binding for it by the session variable name and then place binding onto page to show dynamic info for logged in user.  For php to add a session from linked tutorial add code similar to this adding info = to $sessFirstName where appropriate. You can add the session variable onto the page that your users login form is located on. Just add a registered session line and another line to define the newly-registered session variable.
    <?php
    session_start();
    session_register("sessFirstName");
    $sessFirstName = $XXXXXXXXXXXX;
    ?>
