The lock is really locked

the lock on my ipod wont unlock, when i move it sometimes it goes off for a second then is on again, i tried resetting it and that did nothing, what next?

try to on/off your ipod when at the same time you are pressing the ipod surface which is above and under the hold button. I am not sure if it will work but try it (something similar happens to me too)

  • Keyboard lock doesnt really lock

    Model: 8110
    OS: 4.3.0.93
    I carry my phone in my back pocket with the keypad locked.  I have noticed that with OS version 4.3 that now the keypad doesnt really lock anymore.  It does prevent a keypress from doing anything, but does not stop functions that are triggered by holding down a key.  For example, with the keyboard locked, I can turn off my phone by holding the RED button.  I can also change my profile to vibrate by holdign down the # key, while the keypad is "locked".  So whats happening is that I will discover that my phone has turned itself off while I was sitting in a chair or something because the keypad "lock" still allows these functions to work.
    Will RIM fix this in a future release?

    Hi Gabri,
    Having looked at the model you have mentioned I can confirm that this function isn't available. The only additional keylock feature available is automatic locking.

  • Is the iPAD 3G really locked to AT&T & can I use a US 3G iPAD in EU?

    I will leave the US in May to move back to my home country, the UK. I would like to buy an iPAD 3G from the US before I leave since I had heard it was not locked to AT&T & I could simply replace the AT&T micro sim card with a micro sim card from one of the EU iPAD 3G providers (such as Orange). Is this true & should I buy in the US. An Apple store worker told me that the US iPAD 3G will be locked to AT&T & therefore I should buy it in the UK when released. There seems to be much confusion on whether the iPAD is truly locked to AT&T or not. Thanks for any help or clarification here.

    Best to buy one in the UK!!!
    The iPad is NOT locked to AT&T. It uses the bands that AT&T uses so it is effectively locked to AT&T in the US. You can get a microsim from another country and use the iPad there with no issues (once they support the iPad that is).

    My iPod touch 4 generation 32gb sometimes is really slow.When ever my iPod is being slow and I get on an app the app will shut down. My lock botton is broken and I use the accesery botton to lock it. That being said I can't power down my iPod. I need help, I don't know what to do! Could you tell me how I can power down my iPod or how I can fix the slowness and the shutting down of the apps.

    - Periodically double click the home button and close all the apps in the recently used dock. Then power off and then back on the iPod. This frees up memory. The 4G only has 256 MB of memory.
    - Next, reset the iPod
    To reset the iPod without the hardware buttons,
      Reset network settings: Settings>General>Reset>Reset Network Settings. All your wifi and bluetooth preferences and settings are reset. Information (such as contacts and calendars) and media (such as songs and videos) aren’t affected. You will have to rejoin wifi networks and repair BT devices
    Then you can try:
    - Restore from backup. See:
    iOS: How to back up
      - Restore to factory settings/new iOS device.

  • I updated my 4s to ios7, and had to restore it (stupidly forgot my passcode and disabled it), and now it wont activate, for 2 days... I can't activate it through iTunes because the sim card is locked. What do I do?

    I need help reactivating my 4s!
    I updated the software to ios7, couldn't remember my passcode (never used it before, and ios7 turned it on) and ended up disabling my phone. Erased it remotely via Find my iPhone, and now that I'm trying to restore it, it wont activate. It's been this way for 2 days now. I get the "activation server is unavailable" error. I realize Apple is struggling with their servers during this software update and launch of the new iPhone 5, but really, 2 days now??
    I am currently living abroad, and am using a sim card that must be unlocked. So when I plug it into iTunes, it will not activate because the sim card is locked.
    Help!! Is there anything I can do?

    Try disconnecting your iPhone temporarily and then reconnecting it after a while.

  • Is there a way to answer Voip calls such as Bria while the phone is in locked mode?

    We are using Voip Apps such as Bria and Avaya OneX portal with Voip client enabled for SIP extensions back to Avaya IP Office, the issue is that Apple will not allow the answer splash screen to pop up while the phone is in locked mode..
    On a smartphone you can lock the screen (for security reasons) and to unlock you need to enter a pin or password to get access to the phone.  On a native cellular call the ability to answer the call is provided on the lock screen so that the user does NOT have to unlock the phone to answer the call.  What this customer/partner is complaining about is with our VoIP portion of the application when an incoming call comes in and your phone is locked you cannot answer the call until you unlock the phone.    The issue is that Apple does NOT let application developers bypass the phones locked screen.  Call it security or whatever you want this is something that don’t make available.  Like I mentioned other VoIP applications like Counterpath suffer from the same Operating System limitation.
    So a couple things:
    1.       This is not a Bug it’s an operating system limitation.
    2.       If this is that key for a user the only options are to turn off the lock screen or switch to Android (which does allow this).
    Totally agree with the customers complaint there just isn’t much we can do. We can try to complain to Apple again however that is not going to yield anything.
    Is there any way to get around this?
    Thanks,
    Kelvin

    I'm going to give up on Apple if they don't change this soon. It worked before, answered like a regular phone call (slide to answer). But since IOS7 i really dont like my Iphone anymore. Looking around for alternatives.

    My iPhone 5 keeps freezing when I connect to wifi, not just freeze the wifi, but freezes the whole phone and have to hold home and lock button. Locks up completely and instantly when I turn on wifi and connect. Solutions?

    1.  If you are really on iOS 7.1, you may wish to try upgrading to 8.1.2 which is the latest (basing this on your signature).
    2.  If updating the phone doesn't help, is this only when you connect to a specific wifi network?  Or all wifi networks (including public with no password)?  If it is ALL wifi networks, you may have a hardware problem.  Genius bar would be the next step.

  • If my ipad was stolen, how to register my ipad for the stolen goods, and lock the hardware requirements?

    If my ipad was stolen, how to register my ipad for the stolen goods, and lock the hardware requirements?

    It's really disappointing as a newly converted Apple customer who has already had his iPad stolen, that Apple just sits back and let's this happen.
    I've viewed a number of posts regarding stolen iPads.  Yes, I did have the "find my iPad" enabled.  That's how I knew when the iPad was gone for good.  It's a useless function in the case of theft because the thieves know how to hack into your iPad.  It disappeared from my list of devices in the "find my iPad" utility that very same day.
    Apple loves the fact that their devices get stolen all the time!  That way they sell more of them.  Theft could easily be significantly reduced if Apple chose to give users a means to report stolen devices on the Apple site.  They choose not to do this.  If the black market for Apple devices was limited to hackers who know they have a stolen device, the items wouldn't be such a hot commodity!  Apple knows this... I guess they want to get their devices into as many households as they can.... Legally or not.
    So for all you hard working folks out there, find a way to make sure your Apple products are secure because if they get stolen, you're out of luck.  Apple refuses to help when they could easily do so.

  • What does "Locked" status really mean in FPGA Timekeeper

    The help says, "FPGA Timekeeper locked is TRUE if the FPGA Timekeeper has locked on to and is tracking the given time reference."
    That's not very specific.
    - The Timekeeper is only "tracking the given time reference" when "Sync Time.vi" is called by the code, right?  Otherwise isn't it just predicting time base on the FPGA clock cycle, and apparently some filtering, gain and interpolation?  That wouldn't really be tracking the time reference.
    - Is the Timekeeper checking the interval at which Sync Time.vi is called?
    - Is it comparing the offset of the two time values input to Sync Time.vi  to its internal prediction?
    - Is it making some judgement after a series of Sync Time.vi calls (how many?) that it has figured out the relative variations between the time reference and the FPGA clock?  How does it make that judgement?
    - If a long time passes between Sync Time.vi calls does it decide it has lost its lock?
    - Does calling Time Synce too frequently or too infrequently contribute to not achieving locked status, or to losing it?
    Thanks for the help!  I love the idea of the FPGA Timekeeper but I don't know how to interpret the lock.  I can get the offset from the time reference, but what I'd really love to know is the size of the error when calling Time Synce.vi.

    Hello Matt_Dennie,
    The article below indicates that when using the FPGA Timekeeper with NI-9467 hardware, you will be able to correlate absolute time with system events at an accuracy of around 100 ns.

  • Is my Iphone 4 really locked after I lost it and requested lock thru icloud?

    I've lost my IP 4 2 days ago in a park. 1 hour after I noticed it i tried to reach it, the telephone was offline, searched the places I've been, couldn't find it anywhere somebody probably took it. I also couldn't locate it on find my Iphone, so I checked the request to receive an email when it is located. 24 hours after loosing the IP I've received an e-mail from iCloud that the telephone is located and that is now locked. Is that really true? The strange thing was that I've lost it (or it was stolen) in the park around 2:30 am (tuesday), and then after more then 24 hours (5:11 am wednesday) I received an e-mail like that? It's simply unbeleivable that somebody waited in the park more than 24 hours to turn on the IP, especially when the SIM card was deactivated and that person couldn't use mobile internet or WI-FI . Can I somhow doublechesk is my iPhone really locked?

    Thank You for the welcome.
    Well, there is no wi-fi in that region so I don't see how it could connect to the internet. The main point is can I trust that the phone is lock... that's my only concern now. I crossed over the phone, but wouldn't like the thief to transfer or do anything with my pictures, videos, contacts etc.

  • IOS 5 - Notification are not showing in the lock screen knowing that the option view in lock screen is active ?

    Hi ,
    After Upgade my  iphone4 to ios 5 ,  Notifications are not showing in the lock screen knowing that the option view in lock screen is active ?
    Regards
    HM

    I experience this also sometimes (whatsapp), is this a bug??
    sometimes when a person writes 2-3 messages in a row (for instance) in whatsapp (im in standby mode), it sometimes only displayes ONE message in lock screen mode (though he/she wrote more than 1), and sometimes shows the right corresponding written messages!
    Why is this?
    its really annoyoing when you get messages in lock screen mode BUT it doesnt stay and remain so you notice it. That way you get missed messages etc and notices it first...when doing the "pull-down list".

    Saw this solution on another post about an iPad in a school environment. Might work on your iPad so you won't lose everything.

    ‘iPad is disabled’ fix without resetting using iTunes
    Today I met my match with an iPad that had a passcode entered too many times, resulting in it displaying the message ‘iPad is disabled – Connect to iTunes’. This was a student iPad and since they use Notability for most of their work there was a chance that her files were not all backed up to the cloud. I really wanted to just re-activate the iPad instead of totally resetting it back to our default image.
    I reached out to my PLN on Twitter and had some help from a few people through retweets and a couple of clarification tweets. I love that so many are willing to help out so quickly. Through this I also learned that I look like Lt. Riker from Star Trek (thanks @FillineMachine).
    Through some trial and error (and a little sheer luck), I was able to reactivate the iPad without loosing any data. Note, this will only work on the computer it last synced with. Here’s how:
    1. Configurator is useless in reactivating a locked iPad. You will only be able to completely reformat the iPad using Configurator. If that’s ok with you, go for it – otherwise don’t waste your time trying to figure it out.
    2. Open iTunes with the iPad disconnected.
    3. Connect the iPad to the computer and wait for it to show up in the devices section in iTunes.
    4. Click on the iPad name when it appears and you will be given the option to restore a backup or setup as a new iPad (since it is locked).
    5. Click ‘Setup as new iPad’ and then click restore.
    6. The iPad will start backing up before it does the full restore and sync. CANCEL THE BACKUP IMMEDIATELY. You do this by clicking the small x in the status window in iTunes.
    7. When the backup cancels, it immediately starts syncing – cancel this as well using the same small x in the iTunes status window.
    8. The first stage in the restore process unlocks the iPad, you are basically just canceling out the restore process as soon as it reactivates the iPad.
    If done correctly, you will experience no data loss and the result will be a reactivated iPad. I have now tried this with about 5 iPads that were locked identically by students and each time it worked like a charm.
    ~~~~~~~~~~~~~
    Try it and good luck. You have nothing more to lose if it doesn't work for you.
     Cheers, Tom
  • My play and skip button will not work on the control center and lock screen
    For the first few days I had iOS 7, everything worked fine. Now the Control Center and lock screen will not play, pause, or skip through my music or iTunes Radio. It works fine within music but I would prefer not to have to unlock my phone every time I want to skip a song. Anyone having this issue/know of a way to fix it?
    I didn't have that problem, but I had many others. I've always been a fan of Apple but I'm really disappointed with the latest updates. iOS 7 is full of bugs, the worst being in my music app. It crashes, both in my iPhone 5 and iPad 4, it keeps autosyncings songs from the cloud I don't want (and I can't get them erased), plays a song, but shows a different song, to name just a few... I hope they fix this asap, cause that's really annoying me.
  • Error on nexus 7k series " operation failed.the fabric is already locked"
    getting following error on nexus 7k series switch: error is " operation failed.the fabric is already locked", while removing ntp commands (no ntp server 10.101.1.1) from switch. Please help.
    I had the same error message, only in my situation Outlook would only open successfully every 4 or 5 attempts. When Outlook would open (versus just hanging at the splash screen), I would get two dialog boxes with the warning/error message.
    After I clicked okay I could get into Outlook.
    Previously I experienced this problem running my Office 2010 client with my Exchange 2007 mailbox on my old laptop.  The problem followed my mailbox through an Exchange 2010 migration (so new Exchange org), client upgrade to Outlook 2013, and a new
    laptop (so I knew it wasn't a corrupt profile).  This led me to the conclusion that it was a corrupt item(s) in my mailbox.
    To resolve the issue, I archived *everything* in my mailbox to a PST file, ran SCANPST to fix the corruption, and then uploaded everything back into my Exchange mailbox one folder at a time, stopping after each folder to close and restart Outlook so I could
    narrow down which folder had the corrupt item if the problem recurred.  I'm happy to say my issue is now resolved.
