Dear Ameya,
Yes you can delete the dev_rfc (Developer rfc traces). You may check the below links for more info on Dev traces in general and how to disable it:

    FAN

To summarize - you want to see what percent of the maximum datafile space is free.
If the maxbyes <= bytes (size of the datafile) it will never autoextend. So, the max size is the current datafile size.
If the maxbytes >bytes, the max available space is the maxbyes.
    So, the calculation would be:
    max_percent_free = (max_size - used) / (max_size)
where max_size is either maxbytes or bytes (current datafile size).
In the first case, where datafile is 1900 meg that would be:
    max_percent_free = (2000-1637) / (2000) = 18% - we use maxbytes since it is 2000, greater than the file size (1900)
After increasing the size to 3000
    max_percent_free = (3000-1637) / 3000 = 45% - we use file size, 3000, since it is larger than maxbytes (2000)
If you would set maxbytes to 5 gb
    max_percent_free = (5000-1637)/5000 = 67%
    Does that make sense?

  • What happens when an iPod is synchronized with an iTunes library that is bigger than the available space on the iPod?

What happens when an iPod is synchronized with an iTunes library that is bigger than the available space on the iPod? I did this some time ago. On screen was shown available space somewhat less than 120 GB, but maybe somewhere between 10 and 20 GB more in the library. I had to get the iPod updated anyway, so I did proceed. However, afterwards the total content of the library was only about 110 GB. Now I wonder what did actually happen. Was the first sign only corrected for double copies of the same files or lost files or where files deleted from iTunes? And if files where deleted from iTunes, were they also deleted from my computer?

Same as you would if you bought a pc; copy everything from your old computer to your new one.  Then you can just sync everything from the new computer, as you did with the old one.

Freeing Up Space on The Hard Drive
      1. See Lion/Mountain Lion's Storage Display.
      2. You can remove data from your Home folder except for the /Home/Library/ folder.
      3. Visit The XLab FAQs and read the FAQ on freeing up space on your hard drive.
      4. Also see Freeing space on your Mac OS X startup disk.
      5. See Where did my Disk Space go?.
      6. See The Storage Display.
You must Empty the Trash in order to recover the space they occupied on the hard drive.
You should consider replacing the drive with a larger one. Check out OWC for drives, tutorials, and toolkits.
Try using OmniDiskSweeper 1.8 or GrandPerspective to search your drive for large files and where they are located.

    Hi,
According to your post, my understanding is that you got error when communicating to the server.
This happens when crawler is not able to connect to the server. Make sure server name is correct. Couple of steps to troubleshoot it
You should be able to ping the server from the server having crawl component. Make sure there is an entry for the server in the host file under c:\Windows\System32\drivers\etc folder.
              Ping <servername>
          2.  You should be able to connect to the server using telnet command
    Telnet< servername> <port number>
    More information:
    Troubleshooting of FAST Search Configuration
If the issue still exists, you can delete the old search application and recreate from the beginning.
You can also reset the index and do a full crawl after.
Here is a similar thread for your reference:

I have been a Quicken user for many years but have heard that the move to Yosemite is a Quicken nightmare - so I'm trying to research new software.  I'm overwhelmed by the number of available programs, all the things that each program can do and perplexed by the arguments for and against each feature in each program.
My needs are relatively simple for my small business:  1)  I need to be able to import years worth of Quicken data into the new program  2)  I need to easily print checks  3)  I need to easily reconcile my checking account each month and  4)  I need to generate basic reports for my accountant (e.g. P & L statements, category summaries).
I have been a FileMaker user since 1.0 so I don't need (or want) A/R, A/P, inventory management, invoicing, etc.
I just need a solid, dependable electronic checkbook per above.
    Suggestions?

Thanks for your response and feedback.
I would recommend you continue with Quicken Essentials.  As noted by others, it performs well on Yosemite.
My personal experience is Quicken 2007 for Mac also on 10.7.5 (with many reports of it both updated and successfully running on Yosemite) and I personally would not touch Quicken Essentials with a 10 foot pole -- BUT, if it ain't broke for you, don't fix it!

Some data could not be saved."  I have over 55 mb of free space according to the device info page. I cannot find anything about this in the knowledge library, can anyone offer help?

My problems are similar to Lauren, but backwards.  For months now I have had problems with my Treo 755 reseting randomly.  Sometimes during calls, sometimes while typing, sometimes while just sitting in the holster.   As many as a dozen a day and then not at all for 2 weeks, no rhyme nor reason.  This Free Space error though is brand new to me today and quite strange.   The error is showing up when I bring my phone out of "sleep".  I press the end button to sleep the phone and everything is fine.  When I press it again to wake the phone up the error is sitting behind the keylock waiting for me.
Obviously I have done nothing yet for this new memory error, but I've tried everything for the reseting.  Deleting software, Soft and hard resets, software updates, everything I and Sprint support can think of.  With this new Free space error now I am going to just take it to a service center and demand a new phone.  I think there is some kind of hardware error as I have done nothing in the programming.  No new programs, no deleted programs, no changed settings.
I loved my Treo 650 and never had any problems with it.  I am getting very disappointed in Palm now though with these ridiculous problems.

  • How to add more disk space into /   root file system

    Hi All,
    Linux  2.6.18-128
can anyone please let us know how to add more disk space into "/" root file system.
i have added new hard disk with space of 20GB,

Simple stats.  Buying 2 lottery tickets instead of one, gives you 2 chances to win the lottery prize. Not 1. Even though the odds of winning per ticket remains unchanged.
2 disks buy you 2 tickets in The-Drive-Failure lottery.
Back in the 90's, BT (British Telecom) had a 80+ node OPS cluster build with Pyramid MPP hardware. They had a dedicated store of scsi disks for replacing failed disks - as there were disk failure fairly often due to the number of disks. (a Pryamid MPP chassis looked like a Xmas tree with all the scsi drive LEDs, and BT had several)
In my experience - one should rather expect a drive failure sooner, than later. And have some kind of contingency plan in place to recover from the failure.
The use of symbolic links instead of striping the filesystem protects from the complete loss of the enchilada if a volume member fails, but it does not reduce the risk of loosing data.
I would rather buy a single ticket for the drive failure lottery for a root drive, than 2 tickets in this case. And using symbolic links to "offload" non-critical files to the 2nd drive means that its lottery ticket prize is not a non-bootable server due to a toasted root drive.

  • Increase available space in the disk

If we delete music files, photos, etc we should obtain more space available in the disk. I have deleted music files and photos and my free space available didn't increase neither my used space decreased. WHY? Deleting files isn't enough to get more space ? What I need to do to obtain more free space available and less used space? Thanks in advance for your support and quick reply.

    56,7MB and free space 55,62GB
This is correct for an empty iPod. The 56.7Mb is used by the iPod operating system and Extras that are loaded on the iPod.
55.6GB free is correct for an empty 60GB iPod.
There's always a discrepancy with hard drive capacity due to the different ways in which hard drive manufacturers and computer manufacturers measure hard disk space. The difference is due to a decimal vs. binary measurement.
Hard Drive manufacturers consider a Gigabyte to be 2^30 bytes (1,073,741,824 bytes) whereas the computer manufacturer reports a gigabyte to be 10^9 bytes (1,000,000,000 bytes).

  • How to calculate the percentage of free space for a table in Oracle

okay, I am a little confused here. I have been searching the web and looking at a lot of documents. What I basically want to find out is this, how do I calculate the difference between the number of bytes a table is using and the total bytes allocated to a table space (going that way to get percent free for a particular table). So I need a byte count of a table and total table space and the percentage difference. I have been looking at the DBA_TABLES DBA_TABLESPACES and DBA_SEGMENTS views. I have tried to calculated the space as num_rows * avg_row_len (if I am wrong, let me know). I have been trying to compare that calculation to the number in DBA_TABLESPACES and DBA_SEGMENTS. I am just looking for the total space allocated to the table space that the table sits in (seem logical right now) to make the percentage value work. Thus I want to be able to track the table as it grows as compated to the table space it sits in to see a value as it changes over time (days, weeks, etc.) each time I run this script I am working on.
Can someone get me straight and help me to find out if I am looking in the right places. Any advice would help.
    Edward

You can use a little modified version of dbms_space from Tom, show_space. Have a look,

I use this to find the space allocations.
Just read your post again, this is not going to show you the percentage of the free/used space. This is going to be the number of blocks which are free/used. For the growth trend, you can look at (in 10g) Oracle EM. It has added now,Segment Growth Trend report which can show you for each object, comparing to the allocated space to the object, how much space is being used by it.

  • Downloading a pdf file, saving it, won't show the full name of the saving file when the name contains a space, stopping the file name.

Downloading a pdf file, the name of the file contains a space in the middle of the file. The name showing on the 'Save' popup is the first few letters up to the space. Works fine on IE8. For instance, a file named "old snail_12345.pdf" would only show "old" (ignore the "s). This is on Firefox 30.0, WinXP Pro.

Is this a problem when you are viewing the file in Firefox's built-in PDF Viewer and using its download button, or when you are using a download button in a web page?
I've seen this problem occur when the server is pushing a different file name than the actual file name (for example, the file name is pdf.asp?id=12345 but the server is sending the name Annual Report.pdf in the headers sent with the file). I'm not aware of a workaround for the user, but for what it's worth, it is easy to fix on the server by replacing the spaces with %20 (the standard substitution used in web addresses).

  • TS1398 The WEP password to access WiFI from Time Warner is 12 numbers and letters plus 14 zeros.  Can I expand the available space in the space for entering passwords

The WEP Password to access wifi from Time Warner cable is 12 numbers and letters followed by 14zeros.  The available space to input password is unequal to the task?  Time Warner advised to call Apple.  Any one with a suggestion on how to either 'customize' WEP or expand available password input space?  Better ideaS?

wjosten - I was using a WEP password of greater than 13 characters with no problem.
Mondayblues - Are you saying that you cannot set your own password for your router/modem? You should be able to access it from an ethernet connected computer and change the password to suit yourself.  If it's not more than about 4 years old, you should be able to use WPA instead of WEP, which is much more secure.  Google "time warner modem  yourmodel" to find the user manual and the URL to access the modem.

  • What are the limits of available space for a document on Pages?

Hi, I use Microsoft Office Word and I have a problem.
I have a Word file of 48,000 pages, but I do not support, around 30 to 32,000 pages literally mad.
Apparently more than 32 MB, which is the limit of width of document writing with Word.
Let me know if Pages, the Apple Macintosh writing program, has the same limit of 32 MB or even larger documents can support, because then switch to that.
    Thanks.

Microsoft Word will easily work on documents larger than 48,000 pages (you can create documents of poractically unlimited size).  It's best not to exceed 2,000 pages in a single file: although you can go to 5,500 or so if you have a sufficiently powerful computer.  The old "32 MB" limit no longer applies: that was a limitation of the file system way back, and applied only to the "text" portion of the file, not the graphics.  On 64-bit OS X or Windows you can go way above that if your disk is fast enough.
However, as mentioned by the other poster, it really isn't a good idea to allow a document to get that large.  Research proves that the ability of someone to use a document deteriorates rapidly when it passes 250 pages, so at that point, you should be looking to redesign your publication.
It is also true that a 48,000-page document represents 96 man-years of effort, well over ten million dollars of investment.  When you have that much investment at risk, it is essential to have at least one highly-skilled Documentation Engineer on the project, because the difficulty of creating such a document rises quite sharply with size and complexity.
Microsoft Word will do documents this size, and so will Adobe FrameMaker.  Each of them requires high skills to use effectively on such large projects.
If you care to hop on over to here:

We will be happy to show you how to do this in Word.
