after installing the new update, everytime i go online and type in something that the computer doesnt recognize, regardless of what website i am at, i have a red line under the text. very annoying. how do i fix that? any help would be great.

The restriction passcode can not set itself. It had to be set by you or by someone with physical access to your phone..
Ask the person/people you live with if they set one... A spouse, a parent, a jealous boy/girlfriend, etc.
If they deny it, and you don't know what it is, then the only thing you can do is restore the phone using iTunes. Do NOT restore your backup. The restriction settings are contained in the backup. -

How do I change the font back to the 14 that I had before the "update"?
For the names of files and folders, use View Options to do that. You can access View Options while in Finder via the selection by that name in the View menu; or via the short dropmenu accessed by clicking the gear-shaped icon in a Finder window; or by pressing Command-J
When you open View Options, one of the items presented will be a pulldown menu to adjust the font size; this applies to the names for files and folders -
Change it to suit your needs.
Re changing the font size for the main menubar, unfortunately there is no adjustment for that. -
On September 24, I got a message from the App Store saying there was an update of the Operating System on my MacBookPro laptop - OS X 10.9.5 - once I updated it, I got a message saying that there was an error in the update and that it did not install properly and that I should re-install the update. I have no idea how to do this. Can anyone help me?
You can manually download the Combo update if in doubt of the integrity of the OS 10.9.5
install on top of what you have, backups are always a good idea.

I have tried installing from the App sotre updates and also the softwarre updates - I receive the same message.
Launch the Console application in any of the following ways:
☞ Enter the first few letters of its name into a Spotlight search. Select it in the results (it should be at the top.)
☞ In the Finder, select Go ▹ Utilities from the menu bar, or press the key combination shift-command-U. The application is in the folder that opens.
☞ Open LaunchPad. Click Utilities, then Console in the icon grid.

Go to Finder and select your user/home folder. With that Finder window as the front window, either select Finder/View/Show View options or go command - J. When the View options opens, check ’Show Library Folder’. That should make your user library folder visible in your user/home folder. Select Preferences/com.apple.driver.AppleBluetoothMultitouch.trackpad.plist.
Move the .plist to your desktop.
Log out/in and test. If it works okay, delete the plist from the desktop.
If the same, return the .plist to where you got it from, overwriting the newer ones.

When I installed the recent updates for Microsoft Office 2011 for Mac, my iCal calendar was wiped out, as was the calendar on my iPhone. I'd rather use iCal than Office and was attempting to phase Office out altogether. Now, all of my information is on the Office calendar but not iCal. The iCloud version of my iCal calendar is not up to date. In any event, I couldn't figure out how to send that info to the iCal on my mac or my phone. How can I sync my Office calendar info to iCal? If that's not possible, how can I get my Office calendar to sync with my iPhone? All of my sync services are set up in iTunes and on my phone. This happened to me once before and I spent hours on the phone with Apple and on the web trying to work it out. I NEED MY CALENDAR!!!! PLEASE HELP!!!!!

The other concern I have is that Office 2011 requires an Intel-based Mac and you posted in the older iMac (pre-Intel or "PPC") forums. I am getting more confused. I have Lion 10.7.5 and thought this would not be susceptible to SSL problem.
I also took Lanny's advice and went to "gotofail.com" and it said I was SAFE.
Can I assume I am OK?
Also,i have an ipod 4g and went to the same gotofail, and it also said I am safe. I have not udated the security patch as do not have sufficient space (need 2.7gig) but someone suggested a go around which I have not tried yet.
I am accessing the net via a Veiizon jet pak, and not using open networks.

Unfortunately yes, though technology would never move on if it kept to older standards and did not strive to do more.
The app store always gives you the option to use a previous version of the app IF it is available for your device.

I accepted a recent update for iTunes and now my version of Spin Doctor can't communicate with iTunes, specifically, I can't get music files to go over to iTunes. Spin Doctor gives me a message indicating that iTunes isn't working properly.
I am using iTunes 9.1.1(12) and Spin Doctor 3.1.1.304t. I have investigated upgrading the Spin Doctor but I think too much time has passed and the version available are too far advanced.
Any ideas? Can I undo the iTunes upgrade? Is there a website that I can go to to get the upgrade for my Spin Doctor?

Then use software update to update 10.6 Snow Leopard to OS X 10,6.8.
Then you can run the latest iTunes to sync your iPad running iOS 6

Minimally you need Snow Leopard or greater:

I did the recent update on my ipad 7.0.4 and now it keeps freezing up and can not use it. Tried reboot and works for a second then freezes right up again. Anyone else have this issue or know a fix?

First thing to try is to reset your device. Press and hold the Home and Sleep buttons simultaneously until the Apple logo appears. Let go of the buttons and let the device restart. See if that fixes your problem.

Seems like you tried this all ready and it didn't help.
Next might be to reset all settings.
Settings > General > Reset > Reset all Settings
Note that when you do this you will not lose data but you will have to enter all passwords again.
If that doesn't help you might tries a restore of your iPad using iTunes on the computer you normall sync with. Do a backup and save all data first. Or
Make an appointment at an Apple Store to have your device examined by a technician. Or contact Apple Support.
