The same Exchange ActiveSync profile is applied to an iPhone and an iPad and the result is different?

We have an Iphone (IOS7) and  IPad (IOS7). I apply the same profile Exchange to my two devices. The profile has been configured and applied through the Configuration Utility from Apple. After that, there is a difference. I do not have the same result about automatic Lock setting. On the Iphone, the configuration is available and I can choose the length of time before the lock of device. On the iPad, the option is grayed out and not accessible. It’s impossible to make a change on the IPAD. Why the same profile configuration Exchange does not give the same result on the Iphone and Ipad?

It appears the iphone and ipad in IOS6 or IOS7 have separate auto lock timeout setting options. On an Ipad I have 2, 5, 10, 15 and Never. On an Iphone I have 1, 2, 3, 4, 5 and Never.
So, when a policy is applied by Exchange. If only 3 minutes maximun to locked equipment, Apple will gray out the option when only one choice of 2 minutes is available on an iPad.

    Each phone needs to set its own sync settings on the various tabs in iTunes.  On the Apps tab, for example, uncheck the apps that you don't want on the phone being synced.  This article may also be of interest: http://gigaom.com/apple/itunes-101-multiple-devices-one-itunes-account/.
    You can change the Apple ID used for purchasing on her phone by going to Settings>Store>Apple ID, tap the ID shown, sign out, sign back in using her Apple ID.  However, be aware that if she has any apps on her phone purchased with your Apple ID she will still be prompted to enter the password associated with this ID for all future updates of these apps.  This is because apps are permanently tied to the Apple ID used to purchase them, regardless of the ID in Settings>Store.

    Welcome to the Apple Community.
    Make sure the contacts you are adding are added to your 'iCloud' group and not an 'On My Mac', 'On My Phone' or other non iCloud group (you can do this by checking in groups), non iCloud contacts will not sync.

  • ISE profiling on Apple-Device, Apple-iPhone and Apple-iPad

    I have a question on ISE profiling, espcially on Apple-device.
    My testing environment: when i use iphone to connect, by default the result profiled me as apple-device.
    But when i try to get it more specific, i mark the identity store as apple-iphone on the authorization rule, it fail somehow. It seem it cannot go deeper to analyze it's iphone, instead of Apple-Device.
    The default of the apple-iphone porfiler condition for apple-iphone is checking the hostname and user-agent. So when i try to use the safari browser to get online, it won't bounce me as apple-iphone profile somehow..
    Question:
    01. what should i do in order the profiler can analyze directly it was the apple-iPhone, or any thing need to configure ? say like authorization rule?

    Are you getting redirected to the web portal in ISE? That is the most common way the ISE can get the user agent of the browser in order to profile the device as the apple-iphone. Give that a try and then see if the user agent is learned, you should get a message to refresh your browser momentarily. Then coa should trigger and the wireless controller should get the new authorization profile that you configured for your apple-iphone endpoints.

  • HT5622 facetime not connecting to all devices that use the same apple id.  I have both an iphone and ipad.  Incomin facetime calls connect randomly to one or the other or both.  (should be coming to both)

    I have an iPad and an iPhone, both registered to same AppleID.  Incoming Face time calls ring randomly on one or the other or both (and sometimes none). They should ring on both.

    check the 'recieve at' addresses you set in settings, facetime.  you can have multiple addresses. 
    On mine, i have thre addresses set the same.  I am using both a phone # and my e mail address  (neither one is my apple ID, by the way).
    If somebody calls me to FT using the phone #, the phone rings first, followed by the pad, about 10 sec later.  If they call using the e mail address, they both ring at about the same time.  If one or the other answers, the other device stops ringing. 
    So next time a call comes, wait a bit before answering to see if the other device responds.  and check your receive at addresses.  
    You might want to test a little - have somebody call using one address, or the other, and see if you can track the behavior.

    do you have icloud? if u have then u can restore your data by sync with icloud. change the setting in your i tunes.

  • HT1918 My iPhone and my iPod have different account email addresses, I would like to sync them.  When I try to change (using edit) it reminds me that I already have an account with that name.  I don't need the reminder, I need to change the email address

    I used different email addresses when I signed up for my iPod and my iPhone.  I would like to use only ONE email address for both devices.  When I try to edit, it tells me there is already a user with that address (hint:  I know that!).  Does anyone know how to sync two email accounts into one?  Thanks,

    When I go into my account settings and try to change my old hotmail address to my current Yahoo! address, it tells me "That email address is already used as an Apple ID."  Yeah, I know that.  I set up the account that I'd really, really, like to have together, but it won't let me go further.  End of activity!  It is trusting that my email account and password are correct b/c it will let me make purchases, etc., so it's not like it is preventing fraud or anything.   Summary:  iPod = Yahoo!, iPhone = hotmail, would like to have both reflect my Yahoo! address.

    My question led me to some other good questions.  I saw I can change the id in my phone to the one in my itunes.  I would rather let go the one in my itunes and change the itunes one to the one on the phone.  How can I do that?

  • Configuring Exchange Activesync on Supervised iPads

    I am working on a deployment for a school district.  We are using Apple Configurator to supervise and manage the devices.  Since they are being handed to children under 18, they need to be highly restricted.  They want students to be able to access their email without being able to add other accounts (personal apple IDs, Facebook, YouTube, etc).  I am running into problems with the Exchange Activesync profile.  It prompts for a password, but not a username.  How do I configure this profile in order for students to enter their own email addresses without having access to adding other accounts?     The calendar is synced to an external service, or most likely more than one of them, that also has a calendar. Yahoo, Gmail, and Hotmail offer such services.

  • Action Playback option changes the Result of an Automated Script.

    When using the Playback Option in the Actions menu, then the  Results are different with different Acceleration methods.
    So the Result is different with, Accelerated - Step by Step - Pauze for [1],
    I Expierence the issue with Windows and Mac as well.
    This happens with Illustrator CS5 (15.0.1)
    # Workflow
         Creating the action:
         Open Illustrator, open the attached document: 4102107 Exact.pdf
         Create an New Action, enable Transform window
         Select the Black Square and the Red text Exact
         Go to Object, Scale > 33.3% and press Copy.
         Then go to Transform an from the upper corner and enter on the
         x=397,13 pt y=212,25 pt
         You see the Image moved to the correct clip.
         Open the Document in Illustrator,
         Go to Actions > Select the created action >Now go to the Panel Menu from Actions > Select Playback option.
         You get a new Dialog where you can select a different acceleration mode: "Step by Step" - "Accelrated" - "Pause for [Numeric] Seconds"
         So the issue is, when you select here a different accelration the result is different.
    >Is this as Designed? If So, why because when i understand the function of an automated script. It should exactly get the same
    result as programmed, why else would you want to use the script if the result with be different without nothing.
    There is running an Escalation case about this, But hopefully anybody more experienced can comment me about this. Or inform wheter  it's a bug?

    To make a few things clear I have created a Video of the issue.

    Maybe i really blow in explaining what exactly happens, but i'll try it again.
    When creating an action (as shown in the Video) You can see that the result
    is totally different and when creating the action. This is error 1.
    - I recieved a respons that we just shouldn't use the Transform Panel. So i requested to know why there is a panel created, if we cannot use it.
    No respons.
    Then when you select a Playback option in the setting of the Actions Panel,
    the Result differs. As you can see when executig in the Accelerated the Movement gets placed WAY out of the file.
    When selection Step by Step or Pause for [Numeric] Seconds, then the result is that the movement gets placed
    at the bottom of the file. Both of the Results don't even come close in the Action which is created.
    Hopefully this will calrify what i ment.

    If yes, do you have then allowed the localization ?
    If yes, go to www.icloud.com and log in with the same iCloud account you have used on your iPhone and select the "Find my Phone" app.

    I had a problem while I was trying to run OCR on my image in my LabVIEW code. The algorithm did not detected what I was expecting on the image.
    I decided to run the test on the vision assistant and it worked perfectly: I got the expected results.#
    I assumed then that my code had different parameters, so I decided to generate a VI from the vision asssistant and run it on LabVIEW for the same image, just to verify.I did not change anything on the VI (all parameters are the same), and I used the same image. Surprinsingly the results are different between the assistant and the VI. That strikes me a lot! I have checked alll possible configurable parameters and they have the same values as in the Vision assistant. Does anybody have an idea about what could be the reason of this behaviour?  Thanks

  • The risk analysis results are different when choose report type as "summary" and "management" summary

    I found a expired user with SOD conflicts in "management summary" report format, but it doesn't exist in "Summary" report. You can find the screenshot in attached file. The user name is "YINPENG2_BK".
    What happened? The result of different report formats are from different data source?

    Hi Lynn,
    that's not an issue from the system. It's more a handling issue as the results are splitted into several result sets. In management summary view you have only one result set as it's grouped by user and risk, whereas you have more than one in summary view (as you have multple entries for each user and risk).
    Change to the second, third, etc. result set and you will see the user in the list:

  • Putting the result of scheduler to a local directory

    We have BI Publisher running on a Solaris box.
    Our interest is to have the result(csv file) of a an already designed report in BI Publisher to automatically be put to a local directory on a local directory every time the schedule runs.
    I have gone over the bursting and splitting guides in my reach but i have not got a solution for outputting the complete result of the report(as a whole) to a specified directory. Most of the guides split the designed reports by a KEY on the dataset result and deliver the results in different files as specified by the key.
    My interest however is not to split the result of the Dataset in any way, but rather output the Dataset query result as a whole every time the schedule runs.
    Please advise on the possibility of this.
