Theme problem with 2004s sp08 portal

Hi,
I did some custom wda for EH&S in our DEV ERP2005 that includes some input help from the system.
At first, the input help popup was not diplaying right in my DEV Portal (WDA iview), all the outline was blank, the upright "X" to close the window was invisible.
I used this guide to correct the problem :

I added the sap-ep-themeroot as application parameter, because sap-ccsurl was not working at all. (?sap-ep-themeroot=/sap/public/bc/ur/nw5/themes/sap_tradeshow)
Also, I changed my sap.useWebDynproStyleSheet to true in my visual admin, restarded j2ee.
In my DEV portal, it works good, input help popup displays right.
I did the same in our TST portal (transported Iview to TST portal, WDA to ERP TST).
It does not work in our TST portal. In the iView preview, the input help popup is displaying right, but not when I load the iView from the role.
I added the sap-ep-themeroot in the code with the help of the above guide, did not change a thing.
Also, I transported the sap_tradeshow from ERP DEV mime repository to ERP TST, no good.
Anybody had that problem before? Thank you.

Problem with Application Server Portal 9.0.2.0.1.

I have a problem with Application Server Portal and Wireless 9.0.2.0.1.
Firstly I've installed the infrastructure on a Pentium 3 866Mhz 512Mb of Ram, with Windows 2000 Server (Italian) service pack 2.
I've maintained all predefined settings and I've chosen the UTF8 character set.
After installation, my infrastructure and OID works fine. The OID has port 4032 (as set by Oracle Universal Installer) instead of predefined 389.
After this I've installed Application Server Portal and Wireless on another host: a Pentium 3 733Mhz 384Mb of Ram, with Windows 2000 Server (Italian) service pack 2.
I've also maintained all predefined settings and automatic configuration of Portal and Wireless. I've pointed to my Infrastructure.
Try to test the Portal demonstration but an error occurred:
"SERVICE TEMPORARILY UNAVAILABLE. The server is temporarily unable to service your request due to maintenance downtime or capacity problems. Please try again later."
On my EM Console I see: component instances 'OC4J_Portal' and 'OC4J_Demos' are UP, instead 'Portal:portal:7777' is down.
On the component lists I've clicked the link of component instance Portal:portal:7777, the 'control services' and 'Accessible Server SSO' are started, while 'Accessible Portal Repository' is down.
What can I do to get my portal started?

Problem with users in portal - login conflict with LDAP.

Hi.
Let me describe our problem:
We've a EP5 portal with LDAP conected to a central LDAP server, users access with the same user and password to all the different systems.
The problem happens to users who have theyr passwords expired. We already set to 0 the password expiration days to avoid future problems but that didn't applied to the already expired ones.
This affected users cannot change the password due to problems with the connection rights to LDAP server.
We're trying to find the place there it's set that the user is in some kind of "password expired" status, directly in a database table if neccesary, to change the status manually, as system does not allow os to set it by user administration in portal.
Any suggestions would be appreciated.

Problem with 2004S (N4S) test drive license

Hi -
I've installed n4S for a number of years now, and have struck a problem with renewing the 90 day license.
I go and register again at http://www.sap.com/minisap, give my HWID and specify the MaxDB flavour. I receive my license key file, and upload it via SLICENSE, and get this:
This system's system number is "000000000311069702", but there is a license key for system number "000000000311123778" in the license key file.
Can anyone shed any light on this?

Kudos to Thomas Jung - he suggested that the installation number could be manually changed in the license key file, which worked a treat.

Problem with ESS in portal

Hello experts!
I would appreciate a little help from you.
We have configured recently ESS in our portal. The problem arised since that.
We detected that all the connections between our portal and the gateway of the backend is all concentrated in the central instance.
Let me explain you. Imagine a user logs in to the application server 1 (app1) of the portal. He makes something in ESS and we detect that the connection to the backend (erp) is not made through the application server. In fact, we appreciate that this connection goes through the central instance.
JCo connection are load balanced. The problem seems to be in another configuration.
As you can understand, as ESS gives a lot of workload to the system, and since it is being processed centrally in central instance, we're having a lot of performance issues (regarding cpu bottleneck) in central instance. The other 4 applications servers are just with a 10% CPU load.
Could you help us please so that the requests from the application servers to the backend don't have to be processed in the central instance?

Makes sure you SYSTEM object connections and JCO destinations are load balanced. That's your "links" to the backend. If that all checks, make sure your load balancer is actually set to do as you are expecting. I say this because in a past project, we had an issue like this but it was becuase the load balancer was actually sending all traffic to one server instead of dispersing the load.

It had shown the screen of SAP WEB Application Server with portal SID and asking for credentials. after proving the credentials its shown SAP screen successfully.
My aim is to make use of SAPGUI for HTML in the place of SAPGUI for WINDOWS.
Now i had changed SAPGUI for HTML in transactional IVew and getting the same screen succesfully. as it ask for SAP user Id pwd. i had entered the same credentials wat i had entred earlier during the test. Now its showing an error like
Client, name, or password is not correct; log on again .
For your information we had setup the UME data source as AS ABAP.and had face the problem of creating users from portal identity mangement. so created the users from WAS directly. But any ways right now i am working with the superadmin user only.
what could be the problem ?why its not working in portal while working fine with URL ?

U Need to enable SAPGUI for html
goto se80 give internet services (in the drop down box)
Below drop down give SYSTEM publish these service by right clicking system publish--complete service.
and also publish same way WEBGUI
and also enter ur server ip address and hostname in C:\WINDOWS\system32\drivers\etc-->hosts

Problem with Collaboration and Portal accessed via multiple URLs

Here is the scenario. We have the portal installed that can be accessed from an external domain: portal.company.com. We recently upgraded to WCI 10gR3 and in the process we added an internal server that uses an OAM webgate which handles Integrated Windows Authentication. The URL for out internal access is portal.company.int. The problem comes when we try to access collaboration folders. From our internal URL when we click on a folder in Collab Documents the loading... text come sup and that's it. No other activity in the browser or in PTSpy. If we use the external URL there is no issue.
Anyone have any ideas on how we can get around this or what the cause could be?

try to play with the collaboration server url (for the Collaboration Remote Server )

Enter the external url here, or better the name of the machine, something like
http://<machinename><yourdomain>:11930/collab/

Firefox occurs problems with ext. facing portal

Hello,
Our Java WebAS 7. 0 SPS 15 installation with portal application is located in a DMZ and can be reached over a reverse proxy which maps the port 443 to 50001. With IE and Opera on the client side everything is working fine. But if you use Firefox (2.0 and 3.0 are tested) or Safari (2.1.3 tested), we get problems, if we want to change a whole web page and not only a frame in the page.
If we i.e. log on the portal and change to the portal framework or if we change from the index page of the WAS to the login page from the useradmin, we get only a blank page. But if we edit the page the
completely source code of the page is shown. The page won't be shown until we confirm the URL by clicking enter in the adress bar.
We tested more than one Reverse Proxy and the effect was always the same.
If we run the portal directly without the reverse proxy everthing is working all right even on Firefox and Safari.
Have anybody an idea, what we can try to eliminate this symptom?

IUser problem with com.sapportals.portal.security.usermanagement

I am trying to get the current user so I have written
IUser user = request.getUser();
I have imported com.sap.security.api.*;
The compiler insists I need com.sapportals.portal.security.usermanagement.IUser
I thought that version was deprecated or at least not the preferred method?
It keeps saying my classpath is incomplete. Why can't it use the IUser from the com.sap.security.api?
Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Update
The offending line appears to be IResourceContext myContext = new ResourceContext(user);
when this line is added it causes the above error which I can only assume is because ResourceContext(user) accepts a different kind of user object. does anyone know if there is another way to do this? Here is the rest of the code to see where i am headed:

IE 11 & Windows 8.1 - problems with MS partner portal

Hello,
with Windows 8.1 and IE 11 it is not possible to access the profil page on partner.microsoft.com.
It tells me to use Internet Explorer ;-)

Implies that a site is doing browser sniffing looking for MSIE in a request's User-Agent string. In standard mode IE11 just shows Mozilla/5.0 (for HTML 5.0 support). Use the Developer Tools Console tab
to see this. E.g. enter navigator.userAgent Use the Developer Tools Emulation tab to change it to something your problem site would recognize better, such as IE8.

Problem with BDC in PORTAL(its running fine in R/3)

i have done a BDC which works fine in R/3.....
but fials in PORTAL...
the reason being,
the BDC picks a record in a subscreen which has a table in a grid..the table has 15 records...5 records are visible normaly in portal(and 10 in R/3) rest of the record are visible after scrolling...
the BDC has to pick record at 14 position...it picks corectly in R/3...but when it comes to portal..the BDC stops and one has to manualy scroll and pick the record...
alternativley i have made the reocrd appear at 1 position...and everything is fine..
but whats the permanent solution?
is it related to portal..(like for BDC scrolling in portal is failing)
any alternative ways?
(the BDC is related to SEPARATION action in PA40)

The permanent solution will be using BAPI's instead of BDC.
The BDC is entirely dependent on the screen and any changes in the screen will make the BDC vulnerable.

Problem with Enterprise Portal

Hi SAP gurus,
I am having a peculiar problem with my E-portal.
The system is up and running and when i check through jcmon, all my processes are running OK.
When i go the portal link, the login page also opens(sometimes immediately/sometimes takes a bit of time).
However, when i try to login with any user ID or j2ee_admin/admininstrator,it takes ages.
I have found some errors in /usr/sap/DP1/JC06/j2ee/cluster/server0/log/system/.

I did a research of this issue, and I found a know issue on portal 7.0 SP16 that this message throws. The solution on this case is upgrade your system to sp17.
Your exception also say that your string "String processName = request.getParameter("processName");" Already exist before. so maybe this can be caused also for some custom code, this is a pssibility?

What I can recomend you is:
1) If you are on SP16, please evaluate upgrade your system to sp17.
2) Make suren this issue are not caused for any custom code.

WLC (Foreign-Anchor), problem with the external web auth -- ISE

hello guys
I am currently designing a platform for a guest network, which must be isolated from the local network, the following equipment:
ISE 1.2 (Cisco SNS- 3415-K9)
WLC 7.0.230.0 (Cisco controller 5508)---> wlc Foreign
WLC 7.0.230.0 (Cisco controller 5508)---> wlc Anchor.
The EoIP tunnel between wlc is performed successfully.
The wireless client gets IP address of the anchor wlc (DHCP server).
Test 1:
I configure the WLC ANCHOR with local web authentication (internal), the wireless client is authenticated by WLC and navigate successfully.
Test 2:
Configure the WLC to anchor external web authentication (ISE). configure a user in ISE guest portal.
The wireless client gets IP address of the anchor wlc (DHCP server), attempting to navigate not display the guest portal.
Debug a wireless client trying to connect to the guest network is attached.

Now I presents another problem with the guest portal page. The wireless client obtains IP address and managed to reach the guest portal page, then enter the username and password page tells me it was successful. When I try to browse again brings me to the portal visitor page and asks me to enter user name and password.
test 1:
the username and password created for away was verified.
Scoot will have some implementation details with the same scenario I am developing? I think I'm missing some details in the ISE does not allow me to navigate the entrance for visitors to be successful.

Problem with portal theme for WD Application

Hi Experts,
We have enhanced our ECC with EHP4 and SP18 in our existing portal.And now i am getting some theme problem.
I have few Wendynpro ABAP application in the portal which was coming with correct theme earlier bur after
enhancement all the other application in the portal are coming with the proper theme except all the
Webdynpro abap application.
All the WDApplicatio are coming as blue same like its coming in the backend system.I tried with many option
but i am not able to correct it since i have very little knowledge about the portal.

The problem is probably due to the fact that ERP Enhp4 contains NetWeaver 7.0 Enhancement Package 1 in which SAP delivers the Lightspeed rendering and the new Signature theme SAP_TRADSHOW_PLUS. The Portal at the 7.0 SP18 release level would not have the correct mimes for Tradeshow Plug or for Lightspeed. If the UR rendering of the backend is higher than that of the portal, it has to fallback to using the local stylesheet of the ABAP AS to protect that hte rendering is done correctly (see OSS Note 1267950 and 1033496). You can try the option WDFORCEEXTERNALSTYLESHEET, but because of the drastic differences in the 7.01 and 7.0 rendering this will very likely lead to rendering errors (visual errors or more serious - JavaScript errors).

Problemes with the theme of the portal

Hi,
we have the problem that just the portal header load with the logo, the rest of the portal is white.
The 1st and 2sd doensn't load, also the content doens't load.
When we delete the temporary files it workes for an few hours, then the same probleme came back.
We use EP7 with SPS 14 and the probleme is only with IE 6.0.2800.1106 and with IE 7.0.5730.
With Firefox3 we have no problems.

follow the first method and check the code which you placed has all the functions of tool area. i did the same in our portal by merging tool area and masthhead area. follow these two links to solve this
