These two interview questions have always troubled me!!
Hello friends,
I have been facing some fresh rounds of interviews lately, and most of the time i have been facing these two questions most likely.
1. How do you tune an sql statement
2. What should be your approach, as and when any user complains that his sessions are running slow, or even in a situation if he executes anything the outcome is slow.
Kindly help me with an answer which should be enough to satisfy the interviewer.

I waiver on agreeing with some of the answers here. On one hand I agree that you shouldn't BS your way through the answer because most of the time the interviewer knows that you are lying or uncomfortable and that it is ok to say "I don't know". On the other hand, I do think you need to demonstrate some technical merit on your own besides a) regurgitating what you wrote on your resume and b) I know how to type your question into Google and try the first thing I find. I have been hired after telling the interviewer that I didn't know the answer (to a couple of questions) but I was able to explain how I would solve the problem or what approach I would take. I personally wouldn't tell someone that I know how to surf the web and gleen information so therefore I am right for the job. Honestly, my 7 year old daughter can surf the web and tell me what she finds ... that doesn't mean that I am going to ask her to help with my next data migration project.
Also, just as a personal note I would be careful telling the interviewer, in any case "I am sure that you didn't know anything when application x came out". That sounds condescending and a cheap way out of the question. At my last job we were trying to place a consultant at a customer's site to help with an Oracle Identity Manager project. The consultant didn't have the correct experience and was not comfortable during the meeting. The customer asked candidly, "so, you do know the product really well right?" ... the consultant responded with "well, who really KNOWS the product??". Needless to say we didn't place that consultant with that customer. My point being ... the interviewer is looking for someone to solve a problem. They may or may not be an expert at the job that you are interviewing for ... but they need to know that, if hired, they can rely on you to do the job and that you won't need to Google each time you are presented with a problem. I think that the Internet and all of the blogs, wiki's, twitters, etc are great resources but should not be the biggest tool in your box.

You have jars that reference each other (sounds pretty tightly coupled to me, maybe they shouldn't be in separate jars, but I digress) and each has a manifest file in META-INF, right?
To reference another jar's contents, simply add it to the Class-Path variable in your manifest. Then you can reference the classes as if they were all unjarred and slapped in the same directories.

These two bugs have never been fixed since 10.8
I've reported them over and over and it just seemed to get fixed. Because of these two issues I have decided that my 2013 Macbook Air will be my last Mac. These issues I have replicated on multiple Macs, not just my own. I've seen it with my own eyes happening to other Mac users so please don't tell me these two issues are not happening, because they are.
The Finder is my biggest gripe. Apple ditched AFP for their own in house version of SAMBA. If you have a drive or folder of a server mounted in the finder and that server goes offline, you can't eject the drive or folder without the Finder locking up and having to force quit and relaunch the Finder. Not only does this happen if the server goes offline but it seems to happen if you've had the server mounted for too long. 10.8 - present
When opening iTunes it would hang often when waking from sleep. iTunes would not open it just bounces up and down until you force quit. 10.9 - present

I'm designing an authentication system. Two theoretical questions have evolved. I am not so sure about it. Hope you can help me out =)
1. First sign or first cipher?
What is best practice here? Is it a risk to a symmetrical cryptosystem, if there's also a hash of the plaintext available? Or should the cipher text be signed? I am afraid that this might cause a security risk for the hash: The ciphertext's entropy should be lower than the plaintext's, which might cause lower entropy of the hash value that makes it more likely to find possible collusions.
2. Challenge Response Authentication
This is an hypotectical one: Is it of matter, if a (one-side) Challenge Response Authentication is done reverse: Bob sends Alice f(RAND), Alice deciphers it and sends RAND back to Bob.

All is in the title, so I repeat it below with a better identation.
What are the pros and cons of
1) choosing to use the SAME
Apple ID for iCloud services on one side, and
purchases on the iTunes Store, App Store, and iBookstore, on the other side; or
2) to have and use two separate Apple Ids for these "two sides"?
P.S.
I have loads and loads of free podcasts in iTunes in my iMac, that are certainly more thant the 5 gigas the iCloud provides for free, so I don't want those to go to the cloud. But this is perhaps a different question...
Also need to mention that I have itunes on a mac, a pc and an iphone.
Sorry to look so silly with this question, but I don't get the "big picture".You need to create a user account for your wife (or yourself depending on who has the current user account). When syncing, each of you should sign in as a separate user, login to iTunes and then sync. I had this problem when my sister got an iPhone. When we did her initial sync, everything on my iPhone showed up on hers. Apple gave me this solution.

Two previous questions may not have been as clear as I would have liked. I recently upgraded my MacBook 2008 (10.5.8) to Snow Leopard (10.6.8). With the updates came iTunes 11.1.1 and Quicktime 7.6.6. I am still using Garageband 2008 and iPhoto 2008. When I create music in Garageband I usually adjust the volume and save it. Even now when I share the Garageband created files with iTunes 11.1.1, the volime I previously set in Garageband is retained. However, when I use the music to create a slide show in iPhoto 2008 and export to Quicktime 7.6.6, the volume level I previously set is lost and seems to default to a low level. The problem seems to be either in the slide show export from iPhoto 2008 to Quicktime 7.6.6 or in Quicktime itself. Is there a work around, so that I can retain the volume level I had previously set in Garageband, a volume level that seems to transfer without problem to the new iTunes. But then iPhoto 2008 (slide show) possibly or Quicktime 7.6.6 do not cooperate. Before I did the upgrade to Snow Leopard, the new iTunes and Quicktime I had no problems with the set volume being retained in the old Quicktime. The reason I need control over the volume is that all these music files are uploaded to YouTube.

Uninstalled QucikTime, I have these two programs, apple support update, and
I used QuickTime player on my windows 7 64 bit PC , didn't like it, removed it using add/remove program. Now I have these two: Apple Application Support Version 1.3.1 and is 42.8 MB and Apple Software update 2.1.1.116, 2.15 MB. They are from Apple, Inc. They are listed on my ad /remove program. My question:Since I have Uninstalled Quick time player, do i need to remove these two files? Are they related to any other important software like (e.g adobe)?
I have apple support update, which has , as I understand,an update , but I no longer have a Quick Time program. Do I need to get rid of these two programs, and how to do it safely?
ThanksThey're not doing anything now, so you can remove them. Uninstall them from the Add/Remove Programs, just as you did with QuickTime.

Mian thing in classical report is it is not interactive(you will have cluttered information).

Ans.Assume ur company has stored some text which will printed on sapscript based on certain conditions and not taken thru driver program .
For eg .for a plant 1000
You have to print 'Plant is 1000 and stock is 1000'.
for plant 1010
You have to print 'Plant is 4000 and stock is 3000'.
Then you will create a standard text thru SO10 create a text name and id would be ST and language as EN .
AND YOU PLace the text You have to print 'Plant is 1000 and stock is 1000'.
and this will create one standard text and another standard text for another .
then in the sapscript you will check the plant
use the command in the sapscript and write
Include text name 'zzz' id ST lanuage en.
When you execute
Sapscript will read the include and bring the text from SO10 and print on the screen .

Just for an example if you face any error in your system. Then there is error number associated with the error. Then you can search for the OSS not for the error number, and the note will give you possible solution to your problem.
You do have notes for any details for every thng and any thing related to SAP.

Why do you have these obscure security questions
why are these security questions asked before one can get into their own ipad2:
1. FAVORITE Make of a car
2. Where were you on 2000?
3. Favorite childhood name?
These are three questions that are very hard to remember, especially when they don't work half of the time when you actually try to answer them.
Can't you make the security questions your "own" questions, instead of going to a apple support document to where they are posted as part of the whole security process? The answers to these security questions arent the answers I tried or would remember anyway.
Then you get locked out of the whole password process for a day before you can get in to ask you the same questions all over again? Dumb.Really dumb!!!!i have tried, what i thought was answering my security questions (according to itunes security questions) and filled the answers as best as i could, but now i can't even get past my birthdate either. I know what my birthdate is, but apparently it doesnt recognize me there either. i dont know what i can do to help me get past my birthdate and on to normal security questions. i have tried to answer these questions and after two or three times, have now been locked out again, for another 8 hours! !!!!
This is very unacceptable to me. Is there anyone out there that has had this same problem and has figured out what to do to get around this 8 hour denial time limit and on to logging onto my own ipad2. -

Gift cards can only be used in the App/iTunes store in the country in which they were purchased. You can only purchase items from the store of the country you are physically located.

If you didn't establish a rescue email address, you will need to call applecare support. Ask for account security to reset your security questions. After the advisor is able to verify your identity, they can reset your security questions.
