  • Installing USB 2 flash card drivers manually

I have purchased a USB 2/Firewire 400 HDD that also has a flashcard reader/USB 2 Hub built into it. The driver installer, that installs the flashcard reader and drivers for an Alcor chipset dosn't work.
I need help in manually placing the drivers or maby some one can point me in the direction of a site that has an installer for Alcor drivers that works with Tiger?
The file names on the drivers I currently have are "AlcorUSBStorageShim" & "AlcorUSBStorageClassDriver".
I just don't know were to put them?
The icons on the files have the USB logo on them and the info window says that the files are "Unix executable File (PowerPC).
    Thanks for any help!
    G5 Quad Core 2.5GHz 6GB RAM   Mac OS X (10.4.6)   [storage] X RAID's : [capture] Io : [decks] Betacam SP, S-VHS, DSR-11

I suggest you contact the tech support for that disk drive's manufacturer to find out why their drivers are not working.

  • Service manual & Parts for C2N34UA

I just bought this laptop/notebook at auction but finding information on it is like finding hen's teeth (that probably gives away my age & geographic origins).
It's a 2000-2B80DX - C2N34UA 15.6" laptop. I cannot find any information on the manufacture date of this computer but since it has Windows 8 I'm guessing it's a relatively new model which might explain the scarcity of a service manual.
Before ripping into it, I was hoping to get some detailed information for spare parts, specifically the size screws needed for the LCD screen & display assembly. That's the only thing missing on the computer-the LCD. I just happen to have a screen but I'm short of screws. You might even say I have a few loose.
I'm trying to sell my old G62 341NR so I don't want to cannibalize it but I'm guessing most of the needed screws are interchangeable since that's the LCD I have with the identical connector.
One last question is whether this model is interchangeable with the 2000-2b09ca because invariably when I search on my model that one pops up.
Thanks for any help you can give me on this & Happy Thanksgiving!

The 2000-2b09ca is a different model entirely, so it's not interchangeable.

  • How to install printer drivers manually?

When I installed Leopard, I opted not to install any printer drivers apart from the one for my own printer.
Then my printer died and I got a new printer -- a Brother HL-4070CDW. I assumed I could download the proper driver from Brother's website. Nope! At the website it just says, "Mac OSX 10.5 contains the appropriate printer drivers for your product."
Using Pacifist I was able to extract a folder called BrotherPrinterDrivers from the Leopard install disks. But that folder contains a bunch of files, and I have no idea where to install them on my machine.
Any help from someone who with a good understanding of printer drivers in Leopard would be greatly appreciated.

    Gabriel,
If you do not know where to place them using Pacifist, Follow the instructions listed in this link. Expand the Printer Drivers by clicking on the disclosure arrow, and choose the appropriate manufacturer.
Although the document I linked describes 10.4 installations the procedure will be the same for 10.5 You will find the Optional Installs.mpkg inside the Optional Installs folder.

    Hi All,
I think this is an obsolete product now.
Can anyone give me the user manual for the same or a link where it can give me more information?
How does it connect with 1520 SCXI module?, does it require some special calbe or 68-50 pin cable along with 1349?
Also i would like to know that how this adapter can be used along with a DMM to control the SCXI.
    Thanks.

    Dear Shreyas,
my system configuration are as describe below :
    SCXI-1000 chassis: Slot :1 to 4 CXI-1125, Back side Connector of SCXI-1125-1 to 4 is 1520.
PXI-1042 Chassis : Slot-1 to 4 : NI PXI-4472, Slot -8 -NI PXI 4070 -DMM module to control SCXI module.
I have connected DMM module to 1520 by using Aux cable to control SCXI module.
My problem is that I am not able to configure system In Measurement and Automation Explorer,
In the SCXI Chassis Configuration, Chassis tab and I can select DMM-4070 as a Chassis Communicator. In the Cabling tab i ahve selected 4472 as the connected device and the Module Digitizer. Also, select Parallel as the Digitization Mode.
still it is showing some error..

I bought a Lenovo Edge 15 Mode: 80H1 from BestBuy.

Acutally I found it. This model is the Lenovo Edge, which is different from Lenvo Thinkpad Edge.
However, one Issue is that I can't find the one key recovery botton the laptop.

  • When will WIndows 8 64-bit drivers and apps be available for download

It's a bit frustrating that I can't get Windows 8 drivers and applications for my Satellite P775 because of a buggy Windows 8 Update Assistant: http://forums.computers.toshiba-europe.com/forums/thread.jspa?threadID=68918&tstart=0
I'm happy to download and install the relevant components manually. Do you plan to make these available for download and if so when? The web site did indicate that they would be available in time for the Windows 8 release - which is today.

Hi JoeJoe as far as I know all notebooks which were shipped with the Win 7 and are part of the Win 8 Upgrade Assistant will get the Win 8 drivers via this Upgrade Assistant. All newer notebooks series which are already shipped with the Win 8 will be able to download the drivers manually
Furthermore other it seems that Win 8 drivers will be released in three different steps
Step 1 - Toshiba Upgrade Assistant Release: 26.10.2012
Step 2 - Toshiba Upgrade Assistant Release: 21.11.2012
Step 3 - Toshiba Upgrade Assistant Release: 07.12.2012

  • RAM part number needed

I want to upgrade the RAM in my HP 2000-2d64TU. It currently has 4GB SODIMM Kingston 1600MHz RAM and I want to add another 4GB, I assume I can add another the same as what is already installed. I am having trouble finding the right part number as various RAM suppliers, including Kingston, don't list this HP notebook model.  There seems to be a lot of variation and many types of RAM that have the same specs but different part numbers, so presumably are not exactly the same. I haven't installed RAM before and want to be sure I get the right type. Can anyone help?
    This question was solved.
    View Solution.

    Hi,
Part number is on page #51 of the first manual on the following link:
       http://support.hp.com/us-en/product/HP-2000-Notebook-PC-series/5375422/model/6622534/manuals
Yes, to be able to get full benefit of dual channel, you need to use SAME specs of RAM in two slots, even same manufacturer. The above manual also shows you how to add/replace RAM.
    Regards.

  • Tecra M11 - USB Drivers needed

After installing Windows 7 x64 on my Toshiba Tecra M11 I get two unknown devices that are unable to be installed. I believe them to be the USB connections since the Hardware Ids of the unknown devices are
    USB\VID_8087&PID_0020&REV_0000
I have the following model ...
    M11SAU1
    Part Number PTME1U-03R034A1
    Bios version 2.90
Can someone please point me to where I can download the drivers for this please ?
I have tried the download drivers site for Toshiba for my model but I only get the ability to download the latest BIOs Update to 3.20 ( which doesnt work either due to permission issues ).
Is there a specific driver package I am missing ?
The australian toshiba website only seems to be showing newer versions of drivers/software since the factory preinstalled image was built. SInce I no longer have the preinstalled image where can I get the downloads for all drivers for this model ?

    Hi
USB drivers are part of the Microsoft Windows OS. So you cannot update and install this manually.
By the way: this unit seems to be an Toshiba Australian notebook model. I could find this here:
    http://www.mytoshiba.com.au/support/computers/tablet/m11/ptme1u-03r034a1/download
But it seems that not all drivers have been released for Win 7 64bit.
But dont worry There is a Toshiba European driver page where you could download all Win 7 64bit drivers for the Tecra M11 PTME1E series
This European series is a same like the Australian series PTME1U.
    <img src='http://img3.imageshack.us/img3/7300/capturekgr.jpg' border='0' width='550px'/>
    Regarding the missing drivers:
The internal webcam is connected to the USB controller and I think you should install also the webcam software/driver in order to get the unknown devices disappearing.

  • Update drivers after Windows 10 upgrade?

I have a Y50-70 and have upgraded to Windows 10. Everything seems to be working ok, but I noticed there are a collection of drivers on the download page for this prodcut. It seems like the drivers for a number of these things was upgraded to a newer Windows 10 version as part of the upgrade, but these are Microwoft drivers. Do I need to install these Lenovo drivers? For example, there audio driver on my machine is now a version 10.x from Microsoft. The one on the download page is listed as specifically for Windows 10 but is version 6.x (probably a Lenovo version). It has always striked me odd that a computer owner needs to monitor these drivers manually. It seems to me something akin to "Windows Update" should be watching over the drivers for us. Perhaps even Windows Updat itself with the vendors sending in their drivers, or addresses to the drivers for Update to send out. thanks!

Perhaps even Windows Updat itself with the vendors sending in their drivers, or addresses to the drivers for Update to send out. thanks! From what I understand with Windows 10, and please any pros out there can correct me if I am wrong, but Windows now will automatically update the drivers and if you choose to install a different driver, it will re-install the windows driver. This has been a big bone of contention with the NVidia drivers since NVidia wants to control their drivers through its own interface (GE Force Experience), but Windows 10 keeps overwriting any driver one tries to instal from a 3rd party. I believe the only exception would be if Microsoft does not have a driver for said hardware or feature.  There is supposedly a short term workaround and supposedly a feature called "slow ring" or something like that to allow you an option to receive automatic updates at a later date than they are normaly pushed. Windows 10 has supposedly done away of User Options concerning updates, which is a problem in my opinion. http://www.forbes.com/sites/gordonkelly/2015/07/25/windows-10-automatic-update-problems/  Another Windows 10 potential problem is WiFi Sense which stores your WiFi password on a Microsoft server and all of your contacts from Outlook to Facebook and beyond can also have access to YOUR network IF they happen to be within range of your network. If within range, they could auto login and use your WiFi and possibly more. I'm not sure if this answered you question fully but Microsoft has confirmed that if you change driver updates, Win 10 will just update it again using what Windows believes you should use. Read the article posted above. There could be newer info out since that is about one week old.

  • ?intel iris drivers on macbook pro retina 15" 2014

hi all, i need help i'm lost
it's been 3 days trying to install the intel iris graphic card drivers for the iris 5200 that is shipped with nvidia 750m on the macbook pro 15" retina 2014 and i'm not able to install the drivers.
i installed the preview version of win10 and i rolled back to the preview version of 8.1 both 64bit
and there is something weird, because my bootcamp is only able to install a preview windows version, even having a pro version with product key of 8.1, at the end of the installation, windows say that the changes on my computer can't be saved, so no working windows 8.1 pro
as you are aware, bootcamp download the intelLegacyHdGraphics64.exe together with all other drivers like the nvidia one.. but only the iris drivers will be not installed. the error message is always the same: this computer does not meet the minimum requirement for installing the software.
so, i went to intel site and i downloaded all available drivers, the intel SDK for ocl applications... 2014.exe, the "opencl runtime 14.2x64. package.. installed correctly.
what i'm not able to install are all drivers i could find on the site for the iris.
    Intel® Download Center
but i'm getting always this message: this computer does not meet the minimum requirement for installing the software.
the nvidia 750 works as expected, and i did try everything to install the iris drivers.
i also tried to uninstal the nvidia drivers also using the device manager, not just simply disabling it.
and after booting again.. the iris is not listed in the device manager, just the microsoft default display. and trying to install the drivers manually failed too, but that was expectable since there is no intel iris menu from which to pick manually the drivers.
if i try to install using the compatibility tool i get the message that the os is not supported
    I'm lost lost lost
did someone try to install them? maybe had luck under a win7? or it is a lost war?

    patroo wrote:
I Want to use luxrender and luxmark on windows too
the benchmark score of the iris 5200 in osx mode is 4880 while the score of the nvidia is 900/1100
that is a huge difference in speed
I am unable to search http://www.luxrender.net/luxmark/ for benchmark data. Is there another way to get to these numbers? If you use the nVidia that is currently exposed to windows, do you run into any issues for Rendering?
Edited: on my acer running win7, i disabled the intel graphic card for the sake of Nvidia 330m from bios, and it works
this should be possible in win 8.1 too? as i know those setting aren't anymore available as bios mode.
is there a way to unhide the iris 5200 and permanently disabling the nvidia 750 in windows?
You may want to start by looking http://forums.macrumors.com/showthread.php?t=1658931.
btw maybe you can answer to this. Running luxmark in yosemite, when i benchmark using cpu, iris, or cpu+ iris the fun becomes noisy as it should, but if i benchmark just the nvidia card the fun doesn't start. and this should be not normal at all.
This seems to be normal behavior from my experience. The integrated GPU (CPU+Iris) produces much more heat than the discrete nVidia. If you do not have a case on your MBP, put your palm on the bottom panel, and run both tests. It seems that when I connect my iPod on my windows 2000 pc, it says "installing hardware" and then it wants me to find a driver for iPod.But, no matter how much I have searched I haven't found something.Any ideas please??answer ASAP

    No need to get snippity.
The drivers are part of iTunes 7, and SP4 is a requirement for the iPod to work properly which is why I asked. They are valid questions and I understand your issue.
Try uninstalling iTunes and reinstalling it.

  • Windows Vista 9500m GT drivers

    All,
I just installed vista on my macbook pro unibody (2.8, 4gb ram, 9600M GT 512MB).
The 9600m GT that Vista will use is using the stock drivers. I tryed to download some drivers on NVIdias site and it says I dont have a 32 bit version of vista installed - when I do.
Has anyone had any luck with the nvidia drivers or any other drivers better for games?
    Thanks....

I don't have a MacBook series, and in the folder "Apple" are drivers for various devices.
Try to install directly. If not try using Device Manager to update.
And try running system file checker just for good measure
    *sfc /scannow*
and follow that up with hardware check of your boot partition (schedule chkdsk).
Whether you can install Nvidia drivers manually or not, that would help.
And DO create system restore points and backups.

  • WIndows Vista RC1 (No Drivers)

    Well, hey there.
I've just installed Windows Vista RC1 (March 2009). It's pretty recent.
I went ahead and installed my Boot Camp drivers, but lo and behold nothing installed. I figured it was a botched installation, formatted that partition, and started again.
So, I have tried once again and I am having all kinds of problems. For some reason I can't change the brightness of my monitor or keyboard (both are max all the time) and much of my hardware is not recognized. (By 'much' I mean 'all'. I manually installed a wireless driver.)
Vista installs smoothly, I go about installing the BootCamp drivers and the installation window itself says it's installing each component, but the device manager isn't changing at all. Everything remains "Generic" & "Unrecognized".
I just want Vista to play some games so I can blow off some steam & to do some 3ds Max stuff for college.
Why is this simple process of installation so difficult?
This Apple business is becoming very stressful very quickly.
What I want is some regular old drivers for my stuff to work, there's nothing unique about the hardware so why is it so awkward and frustrating & difficult to get drivers? At best, can someone maybe tell me what kinds of hardware would be in the late 2008 MacBook Pro & how do I get my brightness adjustments to work?
And also, why don't Apple just have individual drivers for download: Nearly every other manufacturer & vendor does (Dell, HP, Sony, Lenovo, Acer, etc.. They use third party hardware and drivers too).
