Dynamically choosing operation in db adapter

Hi,
I have a xml message on which various operations can be performed like create, update, delete, read.I want depending upon user input i am able to do the selected operation and want to create just one DB adapter to do so instead of 4 i.e. one for each operation .Is there any way to do so.I don't want to use a PL/SQL procedure and want to handle in bpel only and using db adapter.
Regards,
Nitin

i have some logic that is first handle in bpel and than i call the db adapter . when we create partnerlink we have to select only one operation in that. Can we change that dynmically. We can change the partnerlinks dynamically.Same way can we do for the operations in db adapter
Thanks & Regards,
Nitin

    Hi Bastain,
Assuming your using the Batch Process Model, you can programatically insert a new SN into the correct parameter in the postUUT callback sequence.
This sequence has access to the UUT.SerialNumber parameter so you can use a File Global to pass the SN from the main sequence to the postUUT callback.
Here is an example of what I mean.

  • How do I use Derived Table to dynamically choose fact table

How do I use the Derived Table functionality to dynamically choose a fact table?
I am using BO XI R2 querying against Genesys Datamart kept in Oracle 10g.  The datamart contains aggregated fact tables at different levels (no_agg, hour, day, week, etc...) I would like to build my universe so that if the end user chooses a parameter to view reports at daily granularity, then the daily fact table is used;  choose hourly granularity, then hourly fact table is used, etc....
I tried using dynamic SQL in Oracle Syntax, but Business Obljects Universe didn't like that type of coding.
The tables look something like this:
    O_LOB1_NO_AGG o
    inner join V_LOB1_NO_AGG v on o.object_id = v.object_id
    inner join T_LOB1_NO_AGG t on v.timekey = t.timekey
Likewise, in the 'hour', 'day', 'week', etc... fact tables, the Primary Key to Foreign Key names and relationships are the same.  And the columns in each O_, V_, T_ fact table is the same, or very similar (just aggregated at different levels of time).
I was thinking of going a different route and using aggregate aware; but there are many Lines of Business (20+) and multiple time dimensions (7) and I believe aggregate aware would require me to place all relevant tables in the Universe as separate objects, which would create a large Universe with multiple table objects,  and not be maintenance-friendly. I also was going to dynamically choose Line of Business (LOB) in the derived tables, based on the end user choosing a parameter for LOB, but that is out-of-scope for my current question.  But that information sort of points you down the train of thought I am travelling. Thanks for any help you can provide!

You can create a derived table containing a union like the following:
select a,b,c from DailyFacts where (@prompt('View'....) = 'Daily' and (<rest of your where conditions here if necessary>)
    union
(select a,b,c from MonthlyFacts where (@prompt('View'....) = 'Monthly' and (<rest of your where conditions here if necessary>))
    union
(select a,b,c from YearlyFacts where (@prompt('View'....) = 'Yearly' and (<rest of your where conditions here if necessary>))
I assume that you are familiar with the @prompt syntax

    Hi,
I have a requirement to pass dynamic file name in File Adapter.
Is there any way to pass a variable for the file name attribut in file adapter.
I am looking for some options apart from %yyMMddHHmmss%,%SEQ%...etc
Please suggest if any of you have information on how to put values from a variable to file name attribute in file adapter
    regards
    Saiju

    Hi Saiju,
    Yes there is.
Assign your file name to a variable, let's say 'fileName'.
Now go to your invoke activity(for the specific fileadapter) -> Property tab-> find a property call jca.file.FileName -> in the value field assign 'fileName' variable.
That's it... (assuming you are using 11g)

  • Dynamic URL for HTTP receiver adapter

    Hi all,
when the XI send the http request to the target system, the format maybe like this:
header + body the body is including: Prolog, payload and Epilog
here is about the target system have a 'input' parameter(maybe string type)
is it possible to pass the 'head + body' these value(or maybe the whole http request message) into input
i mean is it possible to set the dynamic URL for http receiver adapter like this:
    http://host:port/path?input=<the header and body>
i have searched the blog Dynamic Configuration of Some Communication Channel Parameters using Message Mapping
    Link:[/people/william.li/blog/2006/04/18/dynamic-configuration-of-some-communication-channel-parameters-using-message-mapping]
and the similar threads in the forum
    please give me some advice
    thanks in advance

When a HTTP server requests the whole message as URL parameters, then I assume that the server also requests an HTTP GET, which is not supported by XI.
    Could you check this?

  • DYnamic select statement in JDBC adapter?

    Hi guys,
Is it possible so send dynamic select statement in jdbc adapter?
    XIer

    Aamir,
The poster did not specify whether this was sender or receiver channel, but it would only make sense that a "dynamic query" must be on the receiver communication channel since if it was on the sender channel, the channel would have to intelligently determine how to do dynamic queries.
Also, the poster asked if there was a way to "send a dynamic query" to the channel.  This seems to imply that the channel is receiving information from somewhere to determine the query, which could only mean it is a receiver channel.
If you would like more information on the JDBC sender communication channel, please open a new thread.

  • Move operations of FTP adapter

    Hi,
I have used a FTP adapter with move operation to move file from one directory to another directory of different server. As per the Oracle document , I have specified the source directory , destination directory, source file name and destination file name in the BPEL source code. And it is working fine. But I have a requirement to be having the options to change these source directory , destination directory, source file name and destination file name from the EM console. But in this case it is not working. It is quite obvious , it will not be available from EM as it is driven by the BPEL code. So can anyone please suggest me whether we can use these move operation of FTP adapter driven by the adapter JNDI?

    Hi,
You can add preferences to your composite, they can be changed on EM and your BPEL will retrieve the values.
Have a look into this entry on Eric's blog...

    Hope this helps...

I am trying to dynamically create a DBSession to connect to the

I have tested the ODBC connection on the Local Machine and it works fine.
I have connected to the SQL Server on that machine with a Static

  • Biztalk 2010 : Dynamic send Port Block : HTTP Adapter

    Hi
I have a customer who makes an intensive use of the DefaultServerApp host instance.
All of his applications use this instance for dynamic send port ( HTTP send adapter)
The problem is sometimes the messages accumulate in the message queue of the HTTP Send adapter and I have to restart the host instance to fix the problem until it appears again a month later.
note: many messages are timed out , could this to be the root cause ?

    Secondary messagebox
     -why !!!!
You have an issue in just one of the host instances. Where is this Secondary messagebox came into play? Is your database struggle with the load and does the message process
affect “all your processing in BizTalk”?
Or is this issue in host instance/design related. As you have many dynamic ports all of them will be using the default host instance. Some of these processes may have high
volume or high size messages so your host instance may be struggling to process the message and could cause the memory/process usage related issue. Exactly for these reasons Microsoft has given an option to tweaking the host processing and throttling setting.
Adding an additional messagebox database would be overdo for your issue.
Consider tweaking the throttling settings. If the process memory was increasing
continuously and if your investigation boils down to process memory usage for this issue, consider tweaking the
Process memory usage and Physical memory usage throttling thresholds.
Consider the suggestions from this MSDN article..
    http://support.microsoft.com/kb/918643
Also consider about adding more RAM, physical memory.
As I mentioned in my earlier post, run the messagebox viewer tool and review its reports for health of the server.
Also ensure you have the latest version of Cumulative Update for your version of BizTalk installed. In some of the CUs, fix for memory leak has been included.
Another suggestion, review the design where you have so many dynamic ports. May be some of these processes have high volume or high size messages and since all use the dynamic
ports hence the same host instance you could have this issue. Consider to move away from dynamic port for some of the processes, if you find either high volume or high size message processing.
If this answers your question please mark it accordingly. If this post is helpful, please vote as helpful by clicking the upward arrow mark next to my reply.
