Third Party Adapter

We are planning to Install Ariba Adapter to interact with our Supplier Network.
Whether Ariba adapter will be installed insisde the Integration Server in the adapter Engine or its going to be outside the IS.
If we install Ariba, whether there is no Message Mapping is needed(Because Ariba says it comes with the Mapping)
Thanks.

Hi Mohan,
I think it should be a part of Adapter Engine. But even there is a Decentral Adapter Engine Concept...
Also look into this guide for-

Central vs Non-central adapter engine.
Hope this helps,

  • Issue with Third Party Adapter for custom JCA Connector in Oracle 11g.

    Hi,
    For a proof of concept, I have created my own JCA Connector. I have deployed this connector in Weblogic and it works as expected.
    Now I am trying to call the JCA Connecter from the SOA Bus. For this I have create a SCA Composite with a simple Web Service to expose the composite, a Third Party Adaptor to wrap the JCA Connector and a Mediator to wire the Web Service and the Third Party Adapter together. For the Third Party Adapter I have created both the needed *.wsdl and _3P.jca file my self. The problem is that I could not find any documentation about the _3P.jca file, and it looks like it that this file is new for 11g.
    After some puzzling and debugging I am able to deploy the SCA Composite with the Third Party Adapter. Though when I test the exposed Web Service with the Enterprise Manager I get errors and a stack trace. The problem is that the Record Converter I have created receives the default XMLRecord implementation (oracle.tip.adapter.fw.record.XMLRecordImpl) and not the implementation of the XMLRecord I have created my self.
    So the question is does anybody know how to configure the Third Party Adapter so that it will use my custom implemenation of the XMLRecord interface (oracle.tip.adapter.api.record.XMLRecord) instead of the default implementation of the XMLRecord (oracle.tip.adapter.fw.record.XMLRecordImpl).
    I would suspect that it should be configured in the _3P.jca file, though I don't know how. The following is the content of the current _3P.jca file I am using.
    <adapter-config name="DiskAdapter" adapter="Disk Adapter" wsdlLocation="JCADiskConnector.wsdl"
                    xmlns="http://platform.integration.oracle/blocks/adapter/fw/metadata">
      <record-converter className="com.osc.jcaadapter.convert.DiskRecordConverter"/>
      <connection-factory location="jndi/diskcf" adapterRef=""/>
      <endpoint-interaction operation="Send" portType="Send_ptt">
        <use-record-converter addonNamespace="http://somecomp.com/DiskAdapter"/>
        <interaction-spec className="com.osc.jcaadapter.impl.DiskInteractionSpecImpl">
          <property name="FunctionName" value="do-it"/>
        </interaction-spec>
      </endpoint-interaction>
    </adapter-config>So I am hoping that some one knows how you should configure the Third Party Adapter so it uses my own implementation of the XMLRecord interface.

    Hi Simeon,
    That is a good suggestion, and I would certainly try to do that if I was not making a proof of concept. It would solve my problem of not getting the sub class of the XMLRecord.
    Though for making my proof of concept I found a 10g example that used sub classes of the XMLRecord, and that is why I wanted to get the same example to work on 11g.
    The alternative of passing a parameter through with InteractionSpecs, is an interesting though can not solve this problem. I don't have a problem with the javax.resource.cci.Record, I can determine the implementation of that in the conversion class it self.
    The problem is the XMLRecord generated by the Oracle SOA Adapter Framework, some how I need a way to influence that to generate the correct implementation of the XMLRecord.
    So your post is certainly helpfull if I was not trying to get this specific problem to work :).
    But I am afraid that I will end up in implementing your sugestion.

    Maikel.

  • Is there any dependency between third-party adapter and XI system service?

    Hi Friends,
    I'm developing a thrid-party JCA adapter(deployed under sap.com) on SAP XI? In the adapter, it will use "ModuleProcessor" EJB system service.
    I found sometimes if the JCA adapter cannot be started correctly, the other system service also not started. And checking the log, I found the reason the JCA adapter not started, is because the "ModuleProcessor" EJB system service is not started.
    so just want to know is there any dependency between third-party adapter and XI system service?
    Thanks & Regards,
    Jason

    Hi soo.richard,
    You say it could be intruders cutting in - same problem/solution as for any network I think. Access can be password protected or access limited via MAC address filtering. I'm not sure how Apple Tv works with a hidden SSID but that would be another option.
    Airplay itself can be password protected through the airplay settings.
    I'm not sure if Apple TV works with other authentication such as a password but maybe the manual will assist with this?
    Hope this helps.

  • Magsafe and iGo (or other third party adapter)

    I'm not sure if this is the right place to post this plea, and I'm guessing it isn't, since I can't believe nobody else has said this before:
    Please either produce a Magsafe auto/car/air adapter for the or license the technology to a company like iGo. Traveling as a second class citizen to PC users is extremely frustrating.
    If anyone knows of a better venue for this suggestion/request, don't hesitate to point me in the right direction.
    -- Sal
    smile.

    When a PC user has a device that does multiple things and makes their business travel much less cluttered and on a Mac you don't have that option because Apple won't sell or license the technology, it says little for the business savvy of Apple and/or their support of the customer. To use a device that people are quite happy to own and use (the iGo for instance) people are buying a MagSafe power supply cutting the cable and soldering their own. You wouldn't do that if there wasn't a really compelling reason to do it. Apple should want to address this (license or sell their own) for either of two reasons. 1) Because their customers want it and 2) it is silly to talk about being green and constantly (unnecessarily) create new things that could have been just a tip and save the landfills. Unless of course, they don't really care about the planet
    and yes I already called and sent an email. This discussion has been going on for quite some time and if they were listening, they could have heard. I'm disappointed in them. I also know the kind of comments there would be if it was Microsoft with a proprietary connector that did this.

  • Using third Party adapter & Transport

    Hi ALL,
    We are using a file adapter from adantco for SFTP option in file adapter ,
    they Provided us a .tpz file and instalation step we did it development system its working fine.
    Now we need this SFTP is in QA & Prod ,i need to know the  best Prectice can i do the same instalation procedure in QA & Prod also.
    or some other method .. ?
    if any worked on this requrment pls reply .
    REgards
    RK..

    Krishna,
    As shabharish mentioned you need to install the adapters in all the other two systems also. Once installed you might transport the communication cahnnel. Your module parameters will be there in the new system after transporitng. But if you have any parameters which are hardcoded and pointed to a dev environment you might need to put in the qa environment.

  • EDI- PI- IDOC without using 3rd party adapter

    I want to know if EDI generated flat file (from gentran for example) can be mapped to IDOC file for ECC using PI (inbound ABAP proxy at ECC). Assume there is no third party adapter eg. Seeburger in PI landscape. The created IDOC file at ECC application server can then be posted into ECC using FILE port (partner profile at ECC). Anyone accomplished this in past, please share the experience. Appreciate the feedback.

    Hi Aamir,
    I have an EDI file which consists of data in a single String,and the string consists of several ~ separators and * as of a normal EDI structure looks like.
    Eg: ISA---------*--*---~GS--*---*---**-----*~ and so on..........up to IEA in a single string.
    This can be achived by using the FCC?
    Please let me know and provide some info.
    Thanks

  • Mapping handling in third party vs SAP PI for EDI 850

    Hi Experts,
    Can I know Pros and Cons for hanling mapping translations in third party vs handling mapping translations in SAP PI for EDI 850 interface.
    We are already paying money to third party. I just need pros and cons.. we will choose best approch based on your valuable points
    Appreciate your help.
    Regards,
    Krishna.

    Hi Mohan,
    Pros:
    SAP PI is a middleware and all Middlewares work pretty much on the same principles.
    I am assuming that EDI 850 would have some sort of structure, [ to be honest I have not worked on EDI but just read about it] and SAP PI would require you to convert this structure into XML -> the only language SAP PI understands.
    Now, I am sure there are lots of third party adapters available in the market for EDI. PI will give you flexibility to convert this interface into any kind of requirement be it JDBC/FILE/IDOC or anything and vice versa is also true. PI give you this enormous ability to convert to and from any format as long as it is viable.
    Last but not the least, it will provide a robust system with Alerting and Monitoring.
    Cons: You may have to invest on a third party adapter to read the EDI
    You can read the following links for more abt EDI and SAP PI:

  • Support of UCS P81E in third-party servers

    Hi there,
    is it possible to use UCS P81E (N2XX-ACPCI01=) with other servers than UCS C-series? If so, is there any compatibilty list of supported vendors or server types?
    Cheers,
    Helena

    The datasheet referenced her descibes Adapter-FEX the reference is specific to that technology.  It states:
    "...An ecosystem of adapter vendors is now about to  support this technology using the IEEE 802.1Qbh standard, the first  vendor being Cisco itself, with the Cisco UCS P81E VIC (Figure 2),  designed for use with Cisco UCS C-Series Rack-Mount Servers. Other  adapter vendors will soon follow, providing adapters that support this  capability. Both Cisco Nexus 5500 platform and the Cisco Nexus 2000  Series Fabric Extenders support the Adapter FEX technology across a  variety of adapter platforms. Therefore, the offering can now be  expanded outside a Cisco UCS environment to third-party server vendors  that support IEEE 802.1Qbh-capable adapters."
    This means that you could use a third-party adapter such as the Broadcom 57712 which is IEEE 802.1Qbh (prestandard IEEE 802.1Qbr) capable to configure Adapter-FEX in a Cisco or Non-Cisco server.
    As Manish mentions, the P81E is only supported in the C-Series servers and there are currently no immediate plans to qualify it with other third party servers.

  • File Adapter and Third party system

    Hi,
    I am new to XI and implementing a simple scenario.
    In SLD- I have 3rd paty software component and product.
    3rd party technical system: using my pc - For host name I am using my machine name.
    Scenario: Using file adapter transform csv file to xml.
    File resides on my machine. I have configured file adapter inbound and outbound. Integration Dir & Rep objects are all activated.
    But nothing happens, cannot see any message in Messgae monitoring..
    Any help would be great.. Is my technical system setup wrong?
    thanks

    chk whether the folder in your m/c where the CSV file resides is shared and has appropriate access. Also you need to specify your m/c IP with fwd slashes, e.g) //<Ipaddress>/foldername
    configuring your m/c as a Third Party system in SLD is fine.
    If you think ur SLD settings are not correct, you can define your file adapter commn. channel  in a Business Service(which does not require an SLD entry) and check whether it works.
    Thanks

  • File adapter polling stops after reboot of third party system

    Hi,
    We noticed that whenever we reboot our third party system, XI File Adapter is losing it's connection to that third party system and polling stops. As a result File Adapter is not processing any files from that particular server.
    To fix this problem, we either reboot XI Server or refresh communication channel (Go to change mode and save it).
    File adapter is configured to  use FTP  to transfer the files between Windows Server and Unix Server.
    Is there a better way to fix this problem?
    Thanks in advance.
    Regards
    Chandu

    Hi,
    Make the connect mode as PER FILE TRANSFER in the file adapter.
    <i>Connect Mode
    Permanently
    An existing connection to the FTP server is used permanently.
    The connection is reestablished automatically if it is closed by the server.
    Per File Transfer
    A new connection to the FTP server is established for each file transfer.</i>

  • XI and Third party systems are on diff OS which affects File adapter

    Hello,
    I hav ea sceanrio where XI is on Unix and third party system is on Windows.
    We are using a file adapter to give data to third party.on third party system os level script reads this file.
    When ever XI is file adapter is writing file that time only sometimes script tries to read the file and I guess here unix file lock mechanism is not understandable by script which read these files in third party.
    At the same time third party is writing data  and file adapter of XI reads that file, here also file lock mechanism is not recognised.
    This is causing bad data read in XI and as well third party level.
    Pl can you suggest how to resolve this.
    thanks,
    Sharada

    HI Sharada
    You need to use FTP. XI server's file adapter can access only files placed on its local directory.
    In your case  install a FTP server on your desktop and make file adapter connnnect to it .

  • IDoc Scenario SAP ERP - PI(Receiver IDoc Adapter) - IDoc to Third-Party system

    Dear All,
    I have created a scenario  to send IDocs via PI system (PI 7.1) to a third party system.
    There is no message mapping involved(Only ID part)
    I have imported Idoc Metadata from the source ERP system.
    Created an RFC destination(BC_ERP_SEA) in the PI system of type TCP/IP with registered Server Program to third party system.(Tested success)
    Created a port in IDX1 BC_ERP_SEA with above TCP/IP destination.
    Receiver communication channel of type IDoc is created with the following parameters:
             RFC Destination: BC_ERP_SEA
             Segment Version: 640
             Interface Version: SAP release 4.0 or Higher
             Port: BC_ERP_SEA
             SAP Release: 640
    Now when I execute the scenario, I get the following error in SM58 of PI system.
    Bena IDOC_INBOUND_ASYNCHRONOUS not found on host.
    Request your help for this issue.
    Thanks,
    Jishi

    Hi,
    Check below steps..it may resolve your issue
    1. It is mandatory to specify Ack Destination value in IDoc_AAE sender channel. The value should be an RFC destination name which is connecting to your SAP ECC system.
    2. In inboundRA resource adapter, the value for the property "local" should be set to "true".

  • Configuration of AirPort Extreme Using Third Party LAN Ethernet Adapter?

    Hello;
    I am trying to set up my own wireless connection, not without great consternation. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Here is my current situation:
    Subscribed to DSL service - installation went well, and it works fine on two other computers (that are not wireless). Installed same in computer that will use airport extreme, and it shows a connection, but won't load the browser pages.
    Airport Extreme Base Station is working, software installed, etc., but computer doesn't offer airport as a connection choice in system preferences, internet connect, Airport set-up assistant, etc. (because there's no airport card installed????). Consequently, I can't finish w/airport set-up assistant.
    I'm using a third party LAN ethernet wireless adapter since I was told airport cards for my G-4 are no longer made. Adapter and software installed, and shown to be working.
    What am I missing?
    Thanks
