This file cannot be played on this iPhone

I have downloaded a couple of seasons of TV shows from iTunes and when I try to sync them to my iPhone, it tells me that I can't watch the file type is not supported.
Any ideas?

Right click on the TV Show etc. and select "Convert Selection for iPod/iPhone". This will convert it into the correct format for your iPhone. If the problem persists, contact Apple.

Getting back the "this file cannot be played on an iPod" error message

Apparently, my iTunes library contains some song files that are out-of-spec and unplayable on an iPod. When I first plugged in my iPod, I remember getting a message to the effect of "The file 'FOO' was not copied to the iPod 'BAR' because this file cannot be played on an iPod." This message repeated for several dozen files before I got annoyed and clicked the "Do not show me this message again" checkbox.
Well, now I want to go through my iTunes library and clean up these incompatible files, so I WANT to see these error messages again. Is there any way, perhaps by mucking with the iTunes plist file, of getting them back?
Any and all help appreciated. Thanks!

BlackBerry Z10 Error "The file cannot be played due to an unexpected error (10)"

Hope someone can help this one, I received a voice note through BlackBerry Messenger, after downloading I tried to play it and the following message popped up, "The file cannot be played due to an unexpected error (10)".
I received another file, 3GP format, tried to play it, same error pops up. I headed over to the music and video libraries, I could not see these 2 files. I connect my Z10 to the notebook and checked on my SD Card, I could see the files from were not named correctly e.g. VID 00001-20101226-1206 was named as VID 00001%20101226-1206 with the percentage symbol being the unusual thing I picked up. This was the case for both files.
I then modified/remaned the files replacing the % with a - (dash) symbol. The files were now visible and able to play through the Z10. I think there is a problem with the way BBM files are being saved especially the naming convention might be having an error/bug.
My OS release is 10.0.10.99, Version 10.0.10.738 with Build 455718. Is there a fix for this problem that is known? I checked but saw no posts where it was clearly addressed. Am I the only one experiencing this anomaly?
I have restarted the device but this does not resolve. I have attached a screenshot of the error sequence also showing how the file is named upon saving to my media library.

Thanks for bringing this to our attention.
To find the root cause of this issue regarding the media not saving the file properly, we will need to gather logs from the BlackBerry Z10.
I would highly suggest you contact your network service provider and ask to be transferred to BlackBerry so we can get a case number created so we can get the logs.

.jpg files cannot be played on an Ipod Touch?

I took pictures on my new Ipod touch, then moved them to my computer. When I try to move them back, it says it "cannot be played on this Ipod." It's a .jpg file. Why can't I move it back?

Tracks I have in iTunes on my iMac cannot be played on my iPhone.

There are tracks in iTunes on my iMac, that have been copied from my wife's and or son's iTunes account via Homesharing, that are still showing on my iPhone but cannot be played or sync'd. This has only recently started to happen. It is on affecting my iPhone, not a problem on my iPad. It is a simialer issue now with my wife's iPhone. Any ideas why would be appreciated.

This opens a window at the bottom of the page. Scroll that to the bottom and click on English.dmg, and it will download for you as a disk image, which can be installed in the usual way.
After installation you can open and read .xml formatted Word 2008 documents in Word 2004.

No music file is playing right now. It shows error 80070057. Also, no video file is playing.

nothing that can be slolve this problem! It because of your phone not support the video. I have the same problem too. I'm using Nokia X2-01. If you still want to watch that Video, you should change your phone to another higher Version like S60 series. Nokia Model like: C2 C3 X2 X2-01... Are S40 series Phone, so these phone cannot be play high quality Video.

ITunes says "this movie cannot be played on an iPhone"

Hello everyone. I've been trying to rip and convert my DVDs into quicktime lately but iTunes has been giving me trouble. I ripped the original, uncompressed .mpg file off the DVD and loaded it into a bunch of different converter programs, but they all reduced the size of the video to 640x360 during the conversion from .mpg to .mp4, thus lowering the quality. After that I decided to try loading the .mpg into Adobe Premiere and setting it to the original size of the video, which in this case was 853x480. I then exported it to .mp4 using the h.264 codec and put it into iTunes. It now had the full quality and size that I wanted, but when I tried to sync my iPhone it gave me a message saying it wouldn't be copied because it isn't playable on an iPhone. So my question is: why are the videos i bought on iTunes that have a frame size of around 853x480 playable on my iPhone but the 853x480 videos i created myself unplayable?

Ms Office Files cannot be opened in iPad / iPhone

Hello to all. I am having some problems with my iPad/iPhone and Office documents. Some documents (word /excel/powerpoint) either created by myself in my iMac with Office for Mac or sent to me and created in MS Office, cannot be viewed in iPhone/iPad mail client and further cannot be opened in pages/numbers/keynote and Dataviz’s DocsToGo; they always refer as invalid type of file or something alike. Those documents are not password protected and I can view and edit-them fine in my iMac. It is annoying since not all files behave in such a way so I no longer can be sure if the file I send myself from my iMac and/or get from third parties would open or not in my I-devices. I already made a full restore to both of them and situation persist. I would very much appreciate your input and comments on this matter. Thanks

Why the swf file cannot be played by itself?

Hi,
After I run the source code, I opened the bin folder and
locate the swf file that has been packaged. I double click it but
the program will not run. But if I double click the html file that
embed the swf file, the program will run.
Am I doing anything wrong?

here and I am not sure the client would allow me to do it. I am
trying to think to shorten it, but it's hard to find where to start
since I don;t know what actially could cause the problem. I thought
about using external xml data is the reason. I then tested one app
with external xml and one without. Both of the two swf can rrun
standalone.

Error this video cannot be played

I am having trouble I have tried restoring the iPod touch 2nd generation dozen of time and I know my music and video files are in right format they play fine on the othe ripod touch but they don't play on this iPod touch it keeps on giving error video file cannot be played same thing for music file. Restoring it doesn't help. Some one has resolve this issue with iPod touch 2nd generation please help me out thanks

Cannot play songs from iphone or ipad

I'm sorry if this is a repeated question. But suddenly about 95% of my songs on iphone 3gs have turned into grey color and it cannot be played, either from iphone itself or from itunes in laptop under iphone device. It also happened to my ipad. All albums are transferred but they appear to be grey. 5% of the songs are still black and can be played alright. I'm so frustrated!! I did try everything. Please..if anybody can help me. Thank you...

It's that way because that's the way Apple designed it.
I just merely wish to listen to them using itunes and my pc headphones while it charges the unit.
You can still connect headphones to the iPhone and listen while your PC changes the iPhone. Until Apple changes things, that's it.

HDV4 in a .mov file won't play back using any software

Issue:
I had 4 DVDs sent to me containing a bunch of .mov files that won't play back in any of the following apps:
QuickTime 7 Pro (includes Mpeg2 codec from Apple's Web site) - sends me to Apple.com's QT plugins page
Mpeg Streamclip - loads only some on batch import, but mostly displays white and plays the audio
HandBrake - Says not a valid source
VLC Player - error says that HDV4 files cannot be played
QuickTime Player - says format isn't a format that QT recognizes
I need to get this into a format usable by FCE. I'm running the most up-to-date 10.6 Snow Leopard, and the last version of FCE. How can I do this without losing my current version of iTunes or Final Cut Express?

.mov from 4s can be view with iPhoto but cannot be played with QT or QT7

I can view the movie which I took with 4S and those movies can be played in iPhoto properly. But those movie files cannot be played with QT or QT7(I tried both). What is the problems? Please give me a big hand.

Syncing from iPhotos with .mov that cannot be played?

I get a message when syncing from iPhoto because a .mov file cannot be played on my iPad. What options do I have besides checking [] Do not warn me again?

That will be a way to get it to my iPad. I expect it will still fail to synchronize with my iPhoto.
When I check of to not tell me that the synchronization failed, will it only do so for that particular item? Is there a way to select an album with my iPhoto sync, but exclude that particular video?

What video types can be imported and played on my iPhone?

I was able to import videos to i Tunes however I was unable to sync them. I received an error message stating that the video will not sync because it cannot be played on my iPhone. Most of the videos I tried to sync are Quicktime videos so I am wondering if there is a certain type or types that can only be played on iPhone

i convert my videos into the mp4 format and have no problems uploading them to the phone.
