Thread : created tablespace not seen wihle querying database

hi there,
I have create tablespace but when i queried database it is not showing its existence
here are steps which i used to create tablespace------
create tablespace ts_corrupt
datafile '/PGHProdDB/oradata/paceview/ts_corrupt01.dbf'
size 10m autoextend on next 5m
extent management local
segment space management auto
tablespace created.
create user usr_corrupt identified by usr_corrupt
default tablespace ts_corrupt
quota unlimited on ts_corrupt
User created.
grant connect , resource to usr_corrupt
Grant succeeded.
conn usr_corrupt/usr_corrupt
Connected.
create table t_corrupt as select * from all_objects
table created
but when i query to see the appropriate datafile

If it is not in the alert log, oracle has no record of it.
Are you sure you really created it?
Create it again and verify it from alert log.so i have created it again and this time its showing in alertlog.

It will be in uppercase in the logfile if it is there?no, not at all i havent find it .
:There must be 2 databases involved here - and the initial scripts you ran must be against the other database.I am fated that i have run that command on specific database as USER is still exist which i had created.
Can you recall your command history?history showing me that i corrupted the one of that tablespace(ts_corrupt) block to recover it from recoverblock command
by the way i know you people are helping me out so much that i learn alot from this kind of mistakes

When you right click on the Charachteristic and say restrict. You are not able to find the new value. Is this your issue??? try the folloiwng.
In 3.5
Right Click on the Characteristic and say restrict and go to fixed values.
At the Bottom you can see a Display Other Valu Option(Yellow-green Colour Arrow)
Click on that. this opens a new window.
In this Window uncheck the Only Values From infoprovider
Also uncheck the Authorized Values Only Checkbox
Also Set the Number of Displayed Values to All
Now Click OK. This will show you all the values for that particular Characteristic.
In 7.0
When u restrict a Charachteristic, u will see an option called Setting which is on top
When u click on that it will open a new Window . In that window, select value restrictions.
in that select the Radio Button All values And Read Mode Setting as Values in Master data.
Thsi will give you all the values

Variables not seen in query properties

Dear friends,
I have a question as below,
I have 10 variables in a report and i have to change the order of this variables. for this when i go to query properties I dont see 2 variables of currency conversion.
Is there any other place where i can find these two missing variables in the report or any other alternate to fix my issue.

I believe I am having the same issue. I am using a currency conversion type that is set up with variables for currency unit, exchange rate type and date. The 3 variables show up on the variable screen but they seem to be inserted amongst my regular characteristic variables with no apparent logical order. It does not appear to be alphabetical by technical name or description.
In Query Properties -> Variable Sequence Tab, they are not listed with the regular variables which I can reorder using this tab.
I would like to be able to sequence all of the variables -- including those displayed on the variable screen because of the currency conversion type.

Newly Created items not seen when creating a quote

Hi,
I created a new item and now I am trying to add this item in the my new quote. I cannot find the item. Is there any concurrent program or any setup I need to do so that it reflects in the quotes. Please help as I am new to this and not aware of the functional setups for this.

1. Determine where the application is searching for the item by checking the value for the profile 'ASO: Enable Intermedia Search'
     If set to Yes - both the interMedia Search and Inventory tables are searched
     If set to No - only the Inventory table is searched
     Note: In R12, the HTML UI will always use the interMedia search.
2. Verify the inventory item meets the following criteria:
A) The current date must be within the start and end date range set for the product
B) The product must be valid for the inventory organization of the operating unit in which the quote is created.
C) The product must be in the default category set defined for/in the functional area "Order Management."
Inventory Organization is determined as follows:
- Quoting UI first reads the value of profile ASO: Category Set.
- If this profile is not set, it reads from OM functional area.
    (Navigation -> OM > Setup > Items > Categories > Default Category Sets)
using the OM responsibility which points to the same OU as the Quoting responsibility.
D) The product must have the "Customer Orders Enabled" flag enabled..
E) The BOM Item Type must be Model or Standard.

Newly Created Hierarchy Not appearing in Query for restriction

Hi Experts,
Iam new to dealing with hierarchies in BW.
Our R3 team recently added node to 0material hierarchy. I went to infoobjects in RSA1 and under 0material i found two hierarchies
Product Hierarchy for Material MARA &
Reporting Hierarchy
in the contect menu for "Product Hierarchy for Material MARA " i clicked chnage and in the screen that followed, i clicked display modified version and it showed new nodes added by R3 team. Then i clicked the Activate button and got it activated.
We have a report which uses the Hierarchy and in it I cant find the new nodes..
Can anyone please help me??

Organizations are not seen from Application R12

Hi,
I have installed R12.1 Fresh Database in my laptop and its running fine. I created Location, Organization and Organization classification using HRMS super user responsibility. When I opened the organizations window the organization that I created is not seen but they are stored in database. Is there any setup that I am missing?

To access UK SHRMS Manager I changed the profile value for UK SHRMS Managers responsibiity. I choose "HR User" value at Responsibilty level for "HR User Type" Profile.
Then I created location.
UK SHRMS Manager>Work Structures>Location
Then I created Organization
UK SHRMS Manager>Work Structures>Organization>Description
I classified this organization as Business Group.
I closed all the windows. When I tried to query the organization that I created, only the default Business Group (Setup Business Group) is seen. But I can see all the organizations that I created in the database.
I hope this will give you some idea to fix my problem.

Create Tablespace

I need some help. I need to create new tablespace in Oracle 10g. Since we are using ASM technology. I can't see the exact path to create tablespace...I query to see the location of the datafile it gave me following path.
+ASMDG1/ORACLE/USERS.DBF

I location of datafiles and tablespace as well but it is showing the following path.
+ASMDG1/ORACLE/USERS.DBF . The problem is when i use this path to create tablespace like:
CREATE TABLESPACE CARE

It show the error that path doesn't exist.
Can anybody help me out to solve this problem. I tried possible ways but couldn't create tablespace.

Error creating a new user profile service application: The specified database is not a valid synchronization database

When trying to create a new user profile service application on a new SharePoint install I get the following error:
"The specified database is not a valid synchronization database"
The installation then fails and does not create the third database.
I found some threads with similar problems but it involved upgrading an existing db. In this case we want to create a new one. Here is the relevant ULS log info:

I Tried to create another one under a different name (databases also) and I get the same error.
The SharePoint instance has the march mandatory update installed. The sql instance we are using is an existing SQL cluster for other SharePoint poc's.
Has anybody seen this issue before?

I had the same problem and could not figure out what was wrong for the longest time. I then had the idea to check in the model system database to see if there were any extra custom tables in that database. Any tables that are in the model database
are put into any new database when it is created. I had some custom tables in the model database so I deleted the custom tables in the model database and deleted the failed user profile service application and its databases and then tried to recreate
the user profile service application again and it worked with no errors

Jdbc driver creates new thread for each statement with a query timeout set

I am profiling a web application that is using the Microsoft JDBC driver, version 1.1 to connect to a sql server 2005 database. Each java.sql.Statement that is created, within the application, gets a query timeout value set on it ( statement.setQueryTimeout(...) ).
I have discovered that the JDBC driver creates a new thread to monitor each Statement and the query timeout value. When the application is under load these threads are getting created faster then they are being destroyed and I am concerned that this will cause a performance problem in production.
One option I have is to remove the query timeout value and the monitor threads will not be created, another is to change JDBC drivers.
I'm curious is there any way to control this behavior so that these threads are not created or are managed more efficiently. Is there a workaround that anyone is aware of? Is this considered a bug?

Thank you for using the Microsoft SQL Server JDBC driver. You are correct that a new thread is started to monitor the query timeout when a statement is executed. This is a potential performance issue that we may look at addressing in the upcoming v1.2 release. The current behavior is not configurable. The only workaround with the v1.1 driver is to limit your use of query timeouts to only those statements which you reasonably might expect to actually time out.
We do take customer feedback very seriously, so if anyone else is concerned about this particular issue, please chime in and we will be able to give it appropriate weight.

Not able to Create TABLESPACE PSAPROLL|PSAPUNDO    with 728 MB

               When i an trying to upgrade PI 7.0 to pi 7.1 with EHP1 in checks roadmap in abap it throws error like
ERROR> Insufficient free space in the database as follows:

In the location
'/oracle/stage/upg/abap/log/ORATBSXT.LST
These are examples for brspace commands to extend/create the required
tablespaces. You can adapt them according to your own needs.
Add option '-c force' to call the commands in batch mode.
Change option '-autoextend' to 'yes' and set '-maxsize' and '-incrsize'
to create autoextensible segments.

Your real problem is that PSAPUNDO does not exist. For an unknown reason you are using PSAPUNDO1. so, you must fix this:
shutdown your DB.
rename tablespace PSAPUNDO1 to PSAPUNDO. this can be done with:
brspace -c force -f tsalter -a rename -t PSAPUNDO1 -n PSAPUNDO
you will also need to change parameter undo_tablespace to PSAPUNDO
if using initSID.ora, change this manually. or else, do this:
alter system set undo_tablespace=PSAPUNDO scope=both;
you might need to restart your database.

Transformation not working on result from oraext:query-database() functio

Step 1: Create a project in Jdeveloper (File->New->Project->SOA Project)
Step 2: Select synchronous process
Step 3: Take the default schema for input and output
Step 4: create a schema to hold multiple simple type string values.
Step 5: Import that xsd file in the project wsdl file.
Step6: Create a another variable (var1) referring the above element type (result)
Step7: Drop an assign activity from component palette to the process between Receive and Replay activity
Step 8: In the from section use the function oraext:query-database("select ename from emp",true(),true(),'jdbc/EBS_database').in the to section select the var1 variable.
Step9: Drop another assign activity from component palette to the process before Replay activity and after the first assign activity
Step 10: In from section select the first ename using xpath from var variable and assign to the output variable.
Error: The value is not coming to the output from source(var) variable using xpath or transformation.

See the audit trail on EM and verify why it is not working.

You could use import option show=y to capture import run statements and find CREATE TABLESPACE statements. Keep in mind your target database already has undo, temp system, etc. tablespaces so you do not need to precreate them. Then rerun import.

Decimals not seen in the query...

Hi Guys,
I have a problem with the query..
I have loaded a KF with 2 decimal places in the cube.
But when I run a query created on the cube, the digits after the decimal place are not seen in the query.
For e.g. the value of the KF in the cube is 9.85...but in the query, it is seen as 9
please let me know where do i need to make the changes.
FYI..the unit of the KF is %. Has this got anything to do with the problem ?

Creating new Tablespace in 10g XE using Database Home Page

How can I add a Tablespace using the "Database home Page" GUI? I've done this before, but now do not see a link for "Create Tablespace" under the Administration -> Storage icon. I'm logged in as sys.

use sqlplus to create a new tablespace
(set your XE environment first)
(for Linux)
the environment file envOraXEclient for example) -- modify for your env and different shell, and source the file
export ORACLE_HOME=/usr/lib/oracle/xe/app/oracle/product/10.2.0/server
export TNS_ADMIN=/home/mytnsdirectory
export TWO_TASK=XE
export LD_LIBRARY_PATH=/usr/lib/oracle/xe/app/oracle/product/10.2.0/server/lib
export PATH=$ORACLE_HOME/bin:${PATH}
by using sqlplus, create the tablespace (use different size if you want, up to 4gb, you can create smaller, more than one tablespace, etc - this is just an example)
CREATE SMALLFILE
TABLESPACE "MYTBLSPC1"
DATAFILE '/usr/lib/oracle/xe/oradata/XE/mytblspc1.dbf'
SIZE 2G REUSE AUTOEXTEND ON NEXT 10M MAXSIZE UNLIMITED
LOGGING EXTENT MANAGEMENT LOCAL SEGMENT SPACE MANAGEMENT AUTO
if you want, create a dedicated temporary tablespace for your user/s as well (here is an example)
CREATE SMALLFILE TEMPORARY TABLESPACE "MYTEMP"
TEMPFILE '/usr/lib/oracle/xe/oradata/XE/mytemp.dbf'
SIZE 100M REUSE EXTENT MANAGEMENT LOCAL UNIFORM SIZE 1024K
turn the recyclebin off if you want/need to (I do ;)
alter system set recyclebin=off;
change the open_cursors if you want/need to (I do ;)
ALTER SYSTEM SET open_cursors = 5000 SCOPE=MEMORY;
ALTER SYSTEM SET open_cursors = 5000 SCOPE=SPFILE;
ALTER SYSTEM SET session_cached_cursors = 50 SCOPE=SPFILE;
create a specific user utilizing the tablespaces you created earlier
CREATE USER "ZAFER" PROFILE "DEFAULT"
IDENTIFIED BY "zafer" DEFAULT TABLESPACE "MYTBLSPC1"
TEMPORARY TABLESPACE "MYTEMP"
ACCOUNT UNLOCK;
(grants are up to you - and your development / deployment environment)
GRANT UNLIMITED TABLESPACE TO "ZAFER";
GRANT "CONNECT" TO "ZAFER";
GRANT "RESOURCE" TO "ZAFER";
