Thread synchronize with GUI controls

I need to modify some GUI controls (append text to JTextArea) from my custom thread..
Javadoc say that the method append of JTextArea is thread-safe, but if I call it from my thread the application go in blocking-state
So I try to use, SwingUtilities.invokeLater but when I try to append some text to JTextArea, the application go in blocking-state..
How can I do for synchronize method call from my thread to main thread..?

is there somewhere a tutorial how to use replication / synchronization with MaxDB using Windows?
I found information about the Synchronization Manager but it seems that it's no more available for Download.
The Database Studio description points out that it will be useable for MaxDB 7.7 and upper versions,
but I can't also find V7.7 anywhere for download...
So do I need and where can I get it?

Problems with remote control and user accounts - error 1759?

We're running:
-XP Pro SP2 clients with Zen SP1 IR3a agent, 4.91 SP2 Netware client.
-We are NOT running Middle Tier.
-Novell servers are running Netware 6.5 SP7, E-directory 8.7.3.10b or 8.8.
-Zen server is also SP1 IR3a.
We have no problem using remote control on workstation objects. We are having intermittent issues with remote controlling user objects. When the issue occurs, we receive the following error, "Error 1759: The selected user is not logged in on any workstations" even though the user is in fact logged in. After some more research, it appears that the "networkAddress" attribute of the user object is blank so we feel that this is the root cause. My question is what would cause the networkAddress attribute to randomly not update? For instance we had a user (verified his login) who we could not remote via the user object (workstation object worked). We checked his networkAddress attribute and found that it was empty. User rebooted and logged in again and his networkAddress attribute populated, and then we could remote control him via the user object. Now this isn't always the case after a reboot. There doesn't appear to be any pattern to when the networkAddress attribute does or does not update. In fact, this particular user has a laptop so he boots it up fresh every morning yet he was not showing a network address when he logged in initially today.
We've followed the troubleshooting steps in Novell Documentation without any success. Is there anything else that we might be missing, especially with respect to getting the networkAddress attribute to update? We ran a DSreport on that attribute and found about 500 out of a total of 1500 users had no networkAddress. Some of those are sure to be legitimate but that number is much too high for the number of people that should be in the office.
I've read some older threads on the subject but none of them really provide a firm solution. Also most of the older threads reference Middle Tier which we are not using.

Need help in SQL Queries using GUI controls or variables

I have a big problem (I have already had with Visual Basic a few mounths ago) with Java while writing my SQL Queries.
I would like to know how I must do to use variable data or GUI control data in my SQL Query to select only some records.
Here, my first Query that works without any problem (no WHERE clause !!!) :

executeQuery() will never return null. At least that's what the spec says. You are probably catching an exception (probably a syntax error caused by a single quote in strComboBoxSeriesSelected) and ignoring it. Or do you mean the ResultSet contains no rows?
Anyway, to use parameterized queries, take a look at PreparedStatements. Your code should look like this using PreparedStatement:Statement requeteBedes = connectBedes.prepareStatement("SELECT * FROM bandes_dess WHERE ser_nom = ?");

ABAP HR How to create infotype with table control in it like Infotype 0008

Hi Experts.
I need help from u guys. My client requirement is to create custom infotype just like 0008 infotype which contain table control to save amount and wage types. I try to create infotype with table control using PM01, but that table control is in display mode only, i almost search every where to create custom infotype with table control but what ever threads in forum all are they unanswered and most of the threads for creating infotype. But i already done with infotype , but my main problem is table control.
If any one have some suggestion for this please share with me.

I've created several infotypes with a Table Control and it is always the same story. You have to create a custom Z table to store the Table Control data (if you can have unlimited records), so in the PSXXXX structure you need to add a TABNR field to link the PAXXXX table and the Z one, just like the type table OM infotypes.
Then in your code you have to control every possible operation, INS, MOD, DEL... and update the Z table accordingly (the standard code won't do that)
If your TC fields appear in display mode, take a look at the Groups 1 and 3 in your fields, the must be set with the usual values for a PA infotype.

my problem is, that child thread identifyThread will do some process and final throw the output in a JOption dialog box to the main window.
if we use join for the child thread then that dialog box will not come the the main window.

Memory Leak with Picture Control

There is bug with Picture Control
When you insert you picture data in loop into the shift register, memory leak
Can somebody to prevent this bug?

I posted an example that inserts 130 FP object images in a picture and moves them around (it is a random walk where each object is assigned a letter and the program terminates when all of the letters required to spell out "Hello World" wander into the trap at the bottom.)
A snippet of the code follows.
A) Start with a blank picture
B) Inster all of the images
C) show the updated image.

Send output to gui control

I tried searching for an answer but sometimes forming the question can be an issue...
I want to make a GUI with two controls, say period and frequency. I want it to be possible for the user to specify either one of these two values, and the other value is calculated and shown in the other control. So if I choose a period of 500us, the frequency control is updated to show 2kHz. Or if I choose a frequency of 2kHz, the period control is updated to show 500us. I can enter input into either control and the other is updated with the corresponding result.
Is there a way to do this? If so, how?

You just need to write to a local variable of the control in your value change event.

Synchronize with database is disabled after migration

I have migrated from JDev 11.1.1.4 – JHs 11.1.1.3.35 to JDev 11.1.2.3 – JHs 11.1.2.1.28 and solved the problems and now everything is fine but one thing. I am not able to synchronize the entity objects with database! When I right-click on an entity object the “Synchronize with Database” option is disabled. This happens only for the applications that JHs is enabled for them. For normal ADF applications it works after migration. What is the matter?

Synchronize with Database on Entity Object re-creates Association

Please consider this example application created using JDeveloper 11.1.1.4.0

It has an EmpManagerFkAssoc Association which has been moved from the "movedassociationapp.model.entities" package to the "movedassociationapp.model.assoc" package (using the "Refactor - Move..." context-menu option).
When selecting "Synchronize with Database..." in the context-menu of the Employees Entity Object, and clicking the "Synchronize All" button, this results in JDeveloper re-creating the EmpManagerFkAssoc Association,

- (q1) Is this Association re-creation intended behaviour (if so, please explain, if not, which bug number)?

Help starting with GUI

I am working on programing a program for my department, Meteorology, at school so that I can download images every five minutes. I have a version of this that works in the command line, but I want to add a gui to it now. I am not really sure how to start. I know that I need a drop down box with all of the radar sites and their call numbers, and a radio button so they can select the type of image that the user wants to download. These two parts then make up the URL of the image so I can download it. I tried makeing a gui by making each one of these components a separate class. Basically, I am wondering if I should start off by making the GUI all one class, or if each peice of it should be its own class that then gets tied together in a different part of the program. any help with GUI would be great as I am new to this step of programing having only worked in Java command line and Fortran 77. You can create a GUI from within one class. GUIs can be created for applications or applets. The following code is a simple GUI for an application using Swing components. You may need JDK 1.3.1_6.
To make your GUI functional you would need to add or implement Event Handlers preferably using the delegation model. Each control(buttons, textfield, etc) you need to define the event object(button clicks), the event source(button), and an event handler(understands the event and executes code that processes the event).

Is that possible to change parent of GUI Controll?

I have to change parent of GUI Control. I have a Splitter with two Controls (b.e. 1 x 2 )and would like to delete one. After that I would like to change grid ( 1 x 1 ) and show in this the second view. But after I have called splitter->set_grid(1 1) my container which include second view is no more valid, I have to get new one from splitter but how can I bind it with my view?

If you look at the parent attribute of different classes (e.g. CL_GUI_ALV_GRID, CL_GUI_ALV_TREE) then it is a public, <b>READ-ONLY</b> instance attribute. Based on this property I would assume that it is not possble to switch the parent of a GUI control.

BUG: JDev 10.1.3 ADF BC Synchronize With Database not available

I am using the "Business Components from Tables" wizard to create my ADF model.
If I specify a package that is 3 nodes deep (a.b.model) then JDev creates a structure that looks like this...

If I specify a package that is 4 nodes deep (a.b.c.model) then JDev creates an extra level in the Navigator like this....

The side effect of this extra level is that the "Synchronize With Database" option is no longer available when bringing up the context menu for either the "a.b.c" node or the "model" node.

The problem appears to not be with the Wizard.
Instead, the problem is tied to the Navigator Flat Level control.
If I increase the flat level to a point where the entire package appears in a single Navigator node, then the "Synchronize with Database" context menu item is available.
If the flat level is decreased to a point that the package splits into multiple Navigator nodes then the context meny item is no longer available.

can any body give me the idea regarding my requirment please urgent.
my requirment is i created tab strip in main screen (111) and i created table control in subscreen (12).and i created one parameters with gui screen.if i execute that selection-screen it call tab strip .i am getting.but my requrment is when i execute selection-screen by default it will call tab strip with table data (recards) in to the table control fields which is in display mode.
please help me urgent.
