Thumbnails not working

I can't drag and drop thumbnails into different PDF files like I used to. The thumbnails seem locked.

I think I was encountering the same issue.
I solved it installing Itunes 10.5.1(42), even if I'm not using Itunes at all.
Albumarts will now appear in every folder from the finder.

Thumbnails not working in windows 7 and windows 7 RC

When I used to view my security camera video card in Vista I would get a thumbnail view of each 10 second video produced.. This made it easy to skip through each video produced and pick out the ones that I thought would be best to check. This would be watched after about a week or so of videos. Now in Windows 7 and windows 7 RC I cannot seem to find this thumbnail view. All I can see is the media player film type .AVI icon for each video. Is there any way of turning the thumbnail function back on. I have tried all the registry fix changes that have been suggested and they don't work. I have downloaded different codec programs and they don't work. The icon/thumbnail box is unchecked in folder views and that doesn't work. Is there an answer to my problem. Does any one know if Microsoft are working on a change to get thumbnails to work with .AVI files. Hope you can help.

I found a solution for this issue on windows 7 64 bits !
I'm on the 7100 I couldn't get thumbnail preview for my .MOV or .mp4 files. Sometime I could get one or 2 thumb out of 30 in the folder.
I changed and added a few key to the registry to fix this preview thing:
IN REGEDIT:
_ HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\.mov\shellex\
where I only had 2 key inside the shellex.
_I looked inside the mpeg shellex ( because mpeg would generate good thumbnails:
HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\.mov\shellex\
where it had 3 keys
_SO what I tried was to copy those 3 key and replace my .mov shellex 3 key with those.
this is what you can do:
-open regedit
-right click on: HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\.mov\shellex\
then export it ( it will be your backup in case it doesn't work or you mess up something you will just have to click on it to instal it again.
Then,
- remove the "HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\.mov\shellex\ "KEY
-open notepad
-paste the following in your notepad file:
-----------------------don't paste this line-------------------------
Windows Registry Editor Version 5.00
[HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\.mov\shellex]

-save it under whatevername.reg ( be sure to use "all file" kind of type file.)
-double click on the reg file you just saves you just saved , it will reinstal the shellex inside the .mov key here:
HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\.mov
with the right keys and stuff.
-close regedit
-open a folder containing your .MOV, refresh the files several times to be sure, it should be working.

Thumbnails not working in XFCE (I did extensive search in Google)

I'm new to Arch linux and I have to say that I like it since it's MUCH faster than Ubuntu. But I have a problem, I can't seem to make thumbnails work in Thunar, I tried to search for solutions in google but to no avail.
I have these packages installed:
thunar
ffmpeg thumnailer
thunar-archive-plugin
thunar-media-tags-plugin
thunar-thumbnailers
thunar-volman
And the thing I don't understand is that I don't have "thunar-vfs-update-thumbnailers-cache-1"... is it depricated?

PSD thumbnails not working.

When I save an edited picture as a psd image using pse9 on my Macbook Pro I just get an ikon showing a torn document in the Organizer. I can see the image in "Recently saved files" and I can load them from there. Googling this showed that others are having similar problems. Can anybody help"

Does the file name include any unusual characters or periods? If so re-name using a hyphen or underscore.
Also check that the file is still in the correct place e.g. make sure you haven’t moved it outside of Elements using Finder.

Adobe thumbnail preview does not work in adobe acrobat 8.0

I have user login using his profile and suddenly his not able to view thumbnail preview of PDF file using navigation panel but the thumbnail preview
work in administrator profile.
Si, I guess some settings blocking in user profile to view thumbnail preview.
I have checked the settings that I know but it still does not work.

Thumbnail preview works in adobe reader 9 but does not work in adobe 8.0

I have small issue. Thumbnail works in adobe reader 9 but but does not work in adobe acrobat 8.0 in win xp

I don't want to mess things up even more! Geez--I'm almost 60 years old,
need to work and this might be costing me a job. I'm not 20 and text and
e-mail etc every day. I'm just asking for a little help that as I see it ,
is due to a "glitch" with Adobe's software. They can easily in their
technological minds put a warning on anything before someone downloads

Thumbnail view for Library copied from Asset Library does not work

I created list definition based on Assed Library (I copied files from \15\TEMPLATE\FEATURES\AssetLibrary\AssetLibrary ) - I reused schema.xml and other files.
Then I added my new custom content type.
The problem is following: thumbnail view does not work now ( "/AssetLibraryDemo/Forms/Thumbnails.aspx" )
I don't have any javascript errors and any specific error in ULS log.
Can you give me advice, why thumbnail view has stopped working?

TS3391 iMovie 11 is not working. I try to open it and it says it is generating thumbnails for one of my previous projects. All the commands are gray. I have to force it to quit. I just want to capture clips to start a new project.

I don't like the solutions I saw there and I am not sure they will work.

Nobody replied so I called Apple. They seemed to think they could fix the problem but I had to agree to pay about $20 first. I told them to put it down as a complaint. I only want to use the software I bought. I can't see that it is my fault it is malfunctioning. I guess I will have to pay. It doesn't seem right.

Attempts to rebuild thumbnails did not work. How do I get rid of message "Updating thumbnails" every time I open iPhoto?

After repairing and rebuilding the iPhoto libary/database, I attempted to rebuild the thumbnails on an older Mac Book (10.7.5) and iPhoto 9.0. I believe there was not enough disk space for this function. Now when I open iPhoto, I get the message "Updating thumbnails." I then need to hit "cancel" to open iPhoto, How can I get rid of the "Updating thmbnails" message?

you need a minimum of 10GB of free space just for normal os - with little or none y0u risk damaging yoru iPhoto database and other important system components - you must make space immediately
Exporting photos is not the solution - unless you can delete some large files that are not needed The fastest way is to purchase an external hard drive formatted Mac OS extended and move your iPhtoo library to it -
Moving the iPhoto library is safe and simple - quit iPhoto and drag the iPhoto library intact as a single entity to the external drive - depress the option key and launch iPhoto using the "select library" option to point to the new location on the external drive - fully test it and then trash the old library on the internal drive (test one more time prior to emptying the trash)
And be sure that the External drive is formatted Mac OS extended (journaled) (iPhoto does not work with drives with other formats) and that it is always available prior to launching iPhoto
And backup soon and often - having your iPhoto library on an external drive is not a backup and if you are using Time Machine you need to check and be sure that TM is backing up your external drive
I would not put my iphoto library on a flash drive - and usually they are not formated correctly wso will nto even work

SharePoint 2013 Picture Library Thumbnail Preview not Working

We are using SharePoint 2013 Enterprise edition. We are using an enterprise wiki site collection template. In the Site Collection Images library (Picture library), the thumbnail preview is NOT working. For some users, they can see all of
the thumbnail previews, for other users they cannot see any. Some users can see a few thumbnail preview images and the users that could not see any thumbnail preview images, after refreshing a few times could see SOME of the thumbnail preview images.
In addition it is likely not a security issue as all users have contribute rights to the library and I have SCA rights. It is also not a browser issue as one user on my team has IE 9 with nearly (maybe identical) identical settings as I do, who am also
using IE 9. We are having the problems in IE 8, 9 and 10. Also, how could it be a browser issue if using IE 9 for example, users can see some of the thumbnail preview images but not others. Lastly, it is not a file extension issue as the
problem happens with jpg's as well as png's.
Any help would be GREATLY APPRECIATED! FWIW - I'm chalking this up as a bug as it is SO odd and inconsistent, I cannot understand it any other way.

Have you tried looking at the traffic with Fiddler? That can give you an idea if there are any auth or 404 issues.

The thumbnails do not work in Lightroom

I have windows 7 32-bit SP 1, and the thumbnails do not work. worked when I had windows vista, but starting with version 3 Lightroom, no longer work. I can't edit anything like this.

Random thumbnail problem +quick fixes not working on others.

I have system 10.6.8,Iphoto '11 9.2.3(IMAC).Some thumbnails in "photos"(under library on left of screen)are blank but when double click them they open,briefly show ! and then open and edit ok.Shot pictures the other day in JPEG+RAW and random JPEGS will not edit with quick fixes(crop etc)and some will.All RAW seem to work ok.Pix downloaded from 3 camera cards.I rebuilt Iphoto library checking the first 3 boxes.Also some photos (JPEGS)from various dates display the ! when double clicked.Any help would be much appreciated.

Addendum-All raw do not work ok.Some will not let me edit major fixes such as cropping and go out of focus when edit is selected and remain there until double click them out of edit.

Thumbnails on chat is not working for Yosemite 10.10.4

I have upgraded Yosemite to 10.10.4 and I remember, before the upgrade, I was able to see the preview for Youtube links and now it's not working, even if the option on View > Show Media Previews on Chat is enabled. Any thoughts on this one?

Since neither Windows nor Mac shows anything, you probably have a hardware issue. Bring it in for service. You are likely still under the one year warranty unless you got it before June 5, 2011. If you got it before then, and didn't purchase AppleCare, it may be cost prohibitive to repair, and getting an external Mac compatible DVD burner is probably better from some place like http://www.macsales.com/
You can also in that event try a slot loading compatible DVD cleaner to see if that fixes issues.
