TIBCO - XI SCENARIO - Web Service ?

I starting in project to integrate Aspentech, what use Tibco eai, with R3 using XI.
In my first analyze I design a interface using Web Service Adapter, using asynchronous scenario.
I would like, same opinions about benefits and problems using web service or other scenario, like jms, etc.

Hi Marco,
Ur decision should b based on the fact that which system is most convenient for u to transfer the data
If u r thinking of JMS, then do you already have a message queuing infrastructure in place. This could be otherwise an extra task
HTTP is generally used for better performance

• ESB Invokes Web Service More than once

Hi,
I have an ESB that invokes a Web Service Asynchronously (Using SOAP). In certain scenarios Web Service takes as much as 5 minutes to complete its operations. In such cases i am able to see ESB generating multiple requests to the Web Service. Multiple Requests are not generated in case Web Service completes its operations within a shorter duration (duration is based on business scenarios). I tried invoking the web service directly and i found that web service is invoked only once even when it takes 5 minutes.
Please let me know if any of you have faced similair problems and also any possible ways of resolving this issue.
Thanks,
Rajesh

We found that the default retry property of esb was the root cause of the issue. But still why should the esb retry as the call to webservice is an async one. The ESB should have completed the process.
Why 5 minutes - Webservice performs a lot of validations and also the environment is a development one and not optimized.

M.Rajesh

• Calling a Web Service from another Web Service

Hello,
I have the following scenario: Web Service -> XI -> RFC.
I have created the XI -> RFC configurations in the XI and exposed them as a Web Service. I tested the generated WSDL with WebDynpro for Java and it works well (I also uploaded the WSDL to the XI server and tested it from the wsnavigator).
I have created a Web Service from a Java class, deployed it on the XI server (the same XI server as the one with the RFC scenario), tested it and it works well.
Now I want to call the service I exposed from the XI from inside my Web Service.
How can I do that? Are there any code samples for that? I searched and couldn't find any.

create a standalone proxy for your WSDL of the web service deployed on XI java stack and use its API library in the caller Web service...
find the details here...

• Invoke existing DotNet web services via B1IF soap call

Hi All,
I have developed my own B1IF web services and invoked them with dot net.
I now want to invoke existing hosted web services via B1IF (Not B1IF Web Services).
Can someone guide me using the Web Service Call (soap call).
Can I invoke any web service via B1IF scenarios (Web Service Call) ?

Hi Bastian,
I read about it for some reason I get the following error when loading the wsdl:
Can you maybe tell me why I get this ?
I can access the wsdl via my browser perfectly.

• How to consume a TIBCO web-service in SAP PI

Dear All,
I have a scenario to consume a webservice provided by TIBCO.
A end to end scenario is configured in TIBCO (ws-TIBCO-ws). The WSDL file ganerated from TIBCO system is provided to me to consume in SAP PI.
TIBCO generated WSDL will be in a format (Type, Service, Binding, Port, Message). For SAP system to consume a webservice, WSDL format should be (Type, Message, Binding, Port, Service). So i changed the format and imported into External Definitions in ESR and configured the SYNCHRONOUS end-to-end scenario(saop-PI-soap) in SAP PI. I have generated a wsdl from sender agreement and tested it using SOUP UI.
In SOAP UI response it throws following error.

Regards
Koti Reddy

Hi Koti - The soap action is case sensitive.
What is the soap version of the wsdl?
If you try to make a request to a SOAP 1.2 webservice with a SOAP 1.1 request then you may get this error too..
to check the your webservice soap version - open the wsdl and check for the namespace
SOAP 1.1 uses namespace http://schemas.xmlsoap.org/wsdl/soap/
SOAP 1.2 uses namespace http://schemas.xmlsoap.org/wsdl/soap12/
source - http://forum.spring.io/forum/spring-projects/web-services/45083-server-did-not-recognize-the-value-of-http-header-soapaction
please share the wsdl as that may help in providing you more information.

• Invoking a scenario using web service

Hi Experts,
Could anyone pls suggest how to pass variables from SOAP to ODI 11g(11.1.1.6.3)
Here we are using wsdl utility to invoke a scenario using web service and trying to pass a variable like the below
The scenario is triggered successfully without passing a parameter.
But when i try to pass a variable like the below,am getting error
Variables name='PROJECT_CODE'
Variables value='JI-2015'
In ODI 11g, i have generated a scenario with a variable PROJECT_CODE as a declare variable and tried triggering from both the environments
From ODI 11g:
When I try to trigger the scenario from wsdl, in that variable step(in operator), I got error as ODI-17546: Specified variable not found in the Repository
But in the work repository SNP_VAR table I could still see the variable name under VAR_NAME column.
From ODI 10g:
When i try to do the same from odi 10g, the scenario execution is success.
But the variable had taken only NULL value instead of taking the value which i passed from wsdl.
Could you pls advise where am going wrong

variable should be passed in the soap message by adding variables elements. Refer to Note ID [1499852.1]
<Variables>

<Value>Variable1Value</Value>
</Variables>
<Variables>

<Value>Variable2Value</Value>
</Variables>
<Variables>

• Can we use receiver enhancement feature for a web service scenario?

Hi Experts,
We have to send across an invoice to web service enabled legacy system from ECC.
ECC>ABAP Proxy>SAP PI>SOAP Adapter>Legacy System1
ECC>ABAP Proxy>SAP PI>SOAP Adapter>Legacy System2
Requirement is like if the invoice number starts with 1A, it should go to Legacy System1 & if the invoice number starts with 2A, it should go to Legacy System2.
Can we do it in one single scenario using receiver enhancement and if yes How?
Regards
Nidhi Kukreja

You can make use of the XPATH function starts-with(string1,string2) and customize your condition as shown in this blog:
/people/shabarish.vijayakumar/blog/2006/06/07/customise-your-xpath-expressions-in-receiver-determination
Update:
It can even be done without using any XPATH function.....just make use of the option Contains Pattern from the dropdown available for the Middle Operand....right operand will be 1A*

Abhishek.

• SAML2.0 for web services - sender-vouches scenario

We would like to configure this scenario using SAML2.0 assertion tickets. We are on ECC 6 EhP6.
Configuration in SAML2 has been completed - no WS security policy has been configured in order to support the sender-vouches scenario.
WSS_SETUP has run to use SAML.
When configuring the web services we are using https for transport and SAML for authentication - the wsdl generated in this case references SAML1.1 and as result we get an error of Wrong token type received. Endpoint expects SAML 1.1 token.
The question is: can SAML2.0 be used for sender-vouches scenarios or not?
Any input or help would be greatly appreciated.
Thank you,
Miklos

Hi Miklos,
Yes you can use SAML2.0 for Sendor-vouches scenarios.
Please see the below link for configuration process:

• Exception handling in synchronous proxy - web service scenario

Hi Gurus,
I have a synchronous scenario in which SAP is sending a request via XI using SOAP and receiving a response back. As part of this scenario, I am consuming standard web service APIs provided by the third party.
Since, every request has to contain the connecting user id and password provided by the third party, I am sending/receiving messages without SOAP envelop (achieved by clicking 'Do not use SOAP envelope' checkbox in SOAP Receiver Communication Channel).
For this scenario, we are including the user id and password in the request message using XSLT mapping and the request number using simple message mapping.
The fault message of the web service is being mapped to the fault message created in XI under Fault Message Types.
The interface mapping page has got 3 tabs, one each for Request message mapping, Response message mapping and Fault message mapping.
When I trying to test a failure scenario by giving an incorrect request number(since this is the only input parameter in gthe request message apart from user id and password), it is throwing up "MAPPING">EXCEPTION_DURING_EXECUTE error.
Actually, for such requests, I am getting a proper fault response back from the third party which I can see in XI (in moni) as response to my request but when I am looking at the message in moni in SAP, I am only seeing "MAPPING">EXCEPTION_DURING_EXECUTE. Even I can see the exception in the trace section of my response in moni in XI.
My feeling is that the fault message mapping is not getting executed at all.
I also thought to do a 2:1 multimapping in which, the target side will contain the response message type created in XI but the source will contain two messages, i.e. Normal response message structure provided by third party and Fault message structure provided by third party but I am not sure whether this is possible without using BPM.
Please suggest the best way to resolve this issue.

The Fault message raised from 3rd party service, is structured as follow ??
HTTP/1.1 500 Internal Server Error
Content-Type: text/xml; charset="utf-8"
Content-Length: nnnn
<SOAP-ENV:Envelope
xmlns:SOAP-ENV="http://schemas.xmlsoap.org/soap/envelope/">

• Issue with - Consume Web Services in a Messaging Only Scenario

Hello,
I am trying to consume a Oracle - SOA web service in BizTalk.
1. I followed the below MSDN post,
http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/aa560545%28v=bts.70%29.aspx
but I am getting "The custom tool 'BtsDiscoCodeGenerator' failed." error.
2. Tried another approach like the below blog
http://blogs.msdn.com/b/amantaras/archive/2010/03/03/consuming-a-web-service-in-a-non-orchestration-scenario.aspx
In this case, I am getting this error
"A message sent to adapter "SOAP" on send port "xxx" with URI "<<WSDL>>" is suspended.
Error details: Failed to serialize the message part "ProcessPOAck1" into the type "ProcessPOAckType" using namespace "xxx". Please ensure that the message part stream is created properly. "
I made sure there are no data type errors... I have copied the message to SoapUI and tested successfully. The message (output from BizTalk map) does not have soap envelop though. I had to copy
the message in
<soapenv:Envelope xmlns:soapenv="http://schemas.xmlsoap.org/soap/envelope/" <<some name spaces>>
<soapenv:Header/>
<soapenv:Body>
</soapenv:Body>
</soapenv:Envelope>
tags to submit a request successfully.
Any help in this regard is greatly appreciated.
Thanks,
Venkat.

Why are you using the SOAP adapter instead of the WCF Adapter? I think the only way to do that would be with some fairly heavy custom pipeline components.
Using the WCF Adapter, this is very easy - you just need to subscribe to the result message from the web service call - not a big deal, just play with the promoted properties and see what you have; normally SPName. This can be sent to a file location
with Overwrite set so that you never run out of disk space (if you don't care about the content response).

• Java Mapping to Digital Signature (web service scenarios)

Hi All,
I'm working with Web Service Scenarios and I have a problem.
The Web Service has a Schema for validation data and I send data to method of WS, example:
Web Service Description
<SendData xmlns="http://www.sdn.com/schema.xsd">
<InputXML>string</InputXML>
</SendData>
For send data to "InputXML" is obligatory digital signature in Java.
I created a Java Mapping where get message of schema xsd, clear prefixes of tag and convert all schema to string.
Now Web Service response a error, because string is not contain "<" ">" just contain asc & lt; & gt;
Ex:
& lt;CodigoMunicipio& gt;2927408& lt;/CodigoMunicipio& gt;
In Debug Java Mapping in statement:
before
<CodigoMunicipio>2927408</CodigoMunicipio>;
rootelement.appendChild(element);
After
& lt;CodigoMunicipio& gt;2927408& lt;/CodigoMunicipio& gt;
And If use a rotine to convert it, in sxi_monitor generate a exception because not understand string field.
Can you help me?
Regards,
Bruno

Hi Bruno,
there are two ways to nest a xml document into another xml document.
The first one is escaping the XML, just like you did:
<document_one>
<input_xml>
>document_two<>tag_a<value&gt/tag_a<>/document_two<
</input_xml>
</document_one>
http://stackoverflow.com/questions/1091945/where-can-i-get-a-list-of-the-xml-document-escape-characters
The other is using the CDATA tag.
<document_one>
<input_xml>
<document_two><tag_a>value</tag_a></document_two>
</input_xml>
</document_one>
http://www.w3schools.com/xml/xml_cdata.asp
Then, if your webservice expects to receive a XML document inside the InputXML tag, probably it will be able to handle one of these techniques.
Best regards,
JN

• Regd. Web Service Scenario

Hi All,
I have a scenario where Source is a web service and Target is a proxy. I will get 4 different messages from web service,which I need to send it to proxy. Instead of creating 4 different URLs, we thought of using 1 URL by providing * in sender interface and sender namespace. Question is how this can be handled in PI without using BPM.
Thanks,
Vishal

Hi Vishal,
If you are using PI 7.1, you can have "Multiple Operations per Service Interface". Effectively you are exposing one URL and internally calling different operations.
See blog for more details: /people/abhishek.salvi/blog/2009/07/31/using-service-interfaces-now-reuse-one
