Ticket Selection From Inventory Field Values?

Question

Is there anyway to insert a selection field into a custom ticket form with the value options being all the different software names that have been inventoried?
Essentially, if a user is having an issue with a particular software application, we'd like to automatically route that to the designated expert. Only way I can do that is a custom field with static values. Sort of defeats the purpose of maximizing the benefit of obtaining an automated software inventory list.
