Tidal Transporter Automation

We are using Tidal version 5.3.1, we want to automate the process of job migration through Transporter by runing it into batch mode.
I have created a job with the help of the information provided in Transporter help however when i am runing that job it goes into Active status for long as if its hung into that status. Need to know if any one is using Transporter in batch mode or there is any way we can automate the migration process.

Thanks Parul,  I was able to solve my issue of the job hanging by using a runtime user that had super user access for the connection.
I've noticed something else regarding passing parameters on the command line versus the selection file.  The "Running Transporter in Batch Mode" documentation implies that you can override what is in your selection file by passing the source alias, destination alias, and mapping file as paramters on the command line, however this does not work for me.
If I have the values in both places, the transporter always takes the values from the selection file.  I was hoping to create the selection file once, and then override the source alias, destination alias, and mapping file on the command line as I migrate the same jobs from DEV --> QA --> Prod.
Have you had a similar experience overriding values on the command line?

    Is it only one transporter action that is required to be invoked ?
    If yes, the command line invocation section in the Transporter user guide should be able to guide you
    Normally, we end up performing multiple actions using the Transporter GUI depending on the type of artifacts that are being transported

    Remember that Transporter uses a client connection license, so don’t leave it connected.
    Create a mapping file for each environment that may be shared.
    If you have two masters (one production and one test), you will have two mapping files, one from test to production and the other from production to test.
    The mapping files reside on the network drive, along with the log files and saved transport selections.
    Always prompt for a map update. This is set in the configuration.
    Copy jobs to production as disabled if they are new jobs.
    Manually enable the new jobs after transport to the production environment via the Client.
    Existing jobs should always be copied in the same state that they are in production. If you copy an existing enabled job as disabled, the job will be removed from the existing schedules until you enable the job via the Client.
    Save selections for jobs/groups that are constantly being transported. These files should be kept in the same location as the mapping files.
    Archive activity logs. Make sure that the activity logs on the shared network drive are backed up. You will need to decide what your retention policy is and take action to implement it. Transporter does not maintain the logs after they are created.
    Disable auto select dependencies for jobs with complex or many dependencies to enhance performance. All the auto select options should be configured in the off position. Turn them on only when needed. Remember to turn them off again after use.
    To replace an existing job in the production environment, use the “includes duplicates” option in Transporter. This can be done in the configuration or by right clicking in the transport console when you have Jobs/Groups selected.
    Avoid changing the effective date when transporting jobs unless you want all the jobs being transported to have a future start date. If a job is required to be scheduled in the future, use the TIDAL Client to schedule the job after the transport
    Commit / rollback option in the configuration should only be used when no other users are creating jobs with the Client. This option may lock other users that are using the Transporter or the Client.
    Transport your scheduling types based on the following sequence:
    Calendar, Variables, Resources, and Job classes should be transported before all other items.
    Actions must be transported before Events, with the exception of Job Actions. They can only be transported after the Job that they are putting into the schedule has been transported.
    Jobs/Job Groups must be transported after all the other types have been transported.
    Set restriction security on non-super users in the Client via the General Category in the Security Policy – “Move Jobs to Production” or “Move Own Jobs to Production”.
    Transport Archive should be enabled in the configuration. This will enable you to back out a change if needed. This is done by using the Client to remove the newly transported job, and renaming the Archived job name and changing the parent group to the correct location in the Job Definitions.

  • How to configure CTS+ for Solution Manager for XI 3.0

    Hi ,
    We are working on XI 3.0 SP 20 and Doing a file system based transport of .TPZ files. We observed that there is a possibilit of misssing the objects while tranporting. So we are planning to set CTS+ with our Solution Manager.
    Question:
    1. Can we configure CTS+ through the latest version of Solution Manager for XI 3.0 landscape?
    If Yes .. How?   If No... Why?
    2. Is there any way to make the the transport automated like ABAP tranports.

    Thank you for the Demo. The Demo gives me information about the CTS+ setup. I am looking for the compatability of CTS+ for XI 3.0.
    We have Solution Manager 7.1 setup in place.
    Please let us know if we can setup CTS+ on solution Manager (7.01 EHP1) and use it to transport XI 3.0 SP20 IR/ID objects  across  the XI landscape.

    Does anyone know how to automate the transports between the DVL and QAS environment ? When we release a transport in the DVL environment, we would like this transport to be copied in the QAS environement automatically, without having to copy it manually from DVL to QAS.

    if this is generally about transporting PI content through the landscape then your solution is very likely to use CTS as transport system for PI. Further information can be found on https://wiki.sdn.sap.com/wiki/display/SL/SoftwareChangeManagement
    Especially the section 'What is CTS' and 'SAP NetWeaver Exchange Infrastructure (XI / PI)' will be interesting.
    If you are already using CTS and the question is if and how the automation can be configured then the answer is: yes, it can and it has to be done in the same way as for ordinary ABAP transport - even for PI content - via a scheduling.

    i'm a newbie in oracle olap, i already created a cube using Analytic Workspace Manager 10.2.0.3.0A and oracle 10gR2.
    based on my requirement, i have to make sure that my cube data is match with the fact table for example when a row of data been deleted from the fact table then the cube also been updated.
    i search for some command the i found the command
    clear all from CUBE_APP_RECV_PRT_TOPVAR
    then i maintained the cube then the data been updated.
    how to make it the command clear all from CUBE_APP_RECV_PRT_TOPVAR for somehow run in scheduler or procedure something. if not then how to make it automated clear?

    I want to know about the automation of "Adjust Transport Queue".
    Concretly, I want to copy Transport Data&cofiles
    from Transport Domain Controler(DEV) to PRD System.

    QAS -- Location A
    PRD -- Location B ** different Location from Domain Controler **
    Therefore when I execute Transport to PRD,
    "Adjust Transport Queue " is necessary to do.
    I know the JOB to refresh Transport List,
    but I don't know the JOB to Modify transport Queue.

    What’s the version of your TFS?
    How did you specific the file path in InvokeProcess activity? Where you stored this batch file, under a local path in your build agent machine?
    As the TFS Build will running on build agent machine, so you can create the batch file under a local path in your build agent machine, for example C:\BAT\test.bat, then specific in this “C:\BAT\test.bat” as the
    FileName in your InvokeProcess activity. You can refer to Hari’s reply in this similar post:

    Each TFS build’s drop location copied from binaries folder, you can find the binaries folder from

  • Automated transports schedule

    Hi Gurus,
    I am trying to setup my transports to import on a different time interval other than hourly or daily.  I have tried to creat an hourly import in STMS and then copy the job in SM37 to schedule it to run at different times but then it only runs once and than fails from that point on.   This is documented in oss note 398589 but I can not find any procedure that tells me how I can schedule more than one import job or how to adjust the import times. 
    What I am trying to do is not import from 8am -5pm into our QA system but after that, hourly imports or scheduled times for imports would work fine. 
    Any suggestions?

    Here's what I did:
    First, I Made the event in SM64 called STMS_KICKOFF
    I checked this help page to show me how to trigger an event.

    I then went into STMS and selected the system and hit the big truck to schedule the jobs. 
    I selected AFTER EVENT
    And under event name I put the event I created in SM64  (STMS_KICKOFF)
    I selected execute import Periodically and saved it.
    Then I went into SM36 and Created a job  called STMS_JOB_1700 using the step ZSTMS_EVENT_RAISE to run daily at 1700.  I copied the job to run at the times I wanted.   It ran and kicked off the import job which ran properly too.

  • Automating Tidal Scheduler Functionality

    Hello,
    I was trying to find more information about how the REST APIs work for Tidal Enterprise Scheduler.  We're looking to respond to alerts automatically for diagnosis and possible remediation of incidents using Command Line or API.  Can someone point me in the direction of a resource to look into this?  So far I've found a lot of mention of the API but no actual technical documents.

  • Interface QM-WM not automic creation of transport order with partial quant.

    Hi,
    I create a 101 mov. for 5 units and the transfer requirement is created.
    In QM during making usage decision I post partial of quantity into unrestricted stock  for example 4 units. (movement type is 321), the system can't create transfer order automatically. But if I post all the quantity into unrestricted stock, the system works well .
    Did I make a mistake creating  the transfer requ. With the 101?
    Why for the whole quantity it is working fine but not for partial?

  • WebService Automated Activity in BPM - How to transport WSDL to Test/Prd

    Hi,
    I am using a webservice in BPM, This webservice is based on BRM. It is hosted on DEV and i am consuming it with its WSDL whose url has DEV host/port.
    My questions, How would i change when I should move whole BPM piece. I know i will do the same with BRM but it's new url will be based on TEST or PRD. Do I need to change it in BPM and redeploy on Prd/TEST.

    You need not change anything in the  BPM or BRM once you move it to Test or PRD. You can change the end point for the webservice from DEV to TEST / PRD through configuration.
    This configuration is managed through NWA - NetWeaver Administation Application.
    SOA Management - Application and Scenario Communication - Application Configuration.
    You need to open the consuming application (which in this case is BPM as it consumes the web service from BRM) and then change the endpont by selecting the provider system (BRM web service from TEST / PRD) in the consumed services Tab.

    Senhores, bom dia!
    Tenho um cenário em meu cliente, onde eu recebo a Folha de Serviço que foi gerada pela VI01 (LES-TRA) para posteriormente efetuar a MIRO e efetuar o pagamento/escrituração do CTe.
    Resumo:
    Na criação do DC (VI01) foi efetuado um desenvolvimento para determinar o IVA de forma automática lendo o CFOP das Notas das Remessas que foram atreladas do Documento de Transporte (VT01N).
    Após a leitura do CFOP identificou-se a necessidade de utilização de dois códigos de IVA, pois em uma das remessas o cliente tem direito a credito de icms e a outra não.
    DT - tenho 2 Remessas
    Remessa 1 - IVA com credito de icms
    Remessa 2 - IVA sem credito de icms (Embalagem)
    O grande problema é que o documento de Frete é gerado apenas com 01 item e uma Folha Serviço.
    Porém no momento da MIRO preciso utilizar os dois códigos de Impostos para efetuar a escrituração/tomada de credito corretamente.
    Tentamos criar o documento de frete com dois itens, porém o valor do Frete fica duplicado.
    O ideal seria criar o DC com um item de custo de frete por remessa, desta forma na outra ponta do processo (MIRO) não teria esse tipo de problema.
    Agradeço por qualquer ajuda.

    Eu acho que existe uma questão funcional para ser esclarecida nesse post.
    Em muitos casos quando existe uma situação tributária que modifica a escrituração do CTe é necessária a emissão de mais de um CTe então para que ele siga a tributação da NFe.
    Mas acho que esse não é o seu caso.
    Independentemente de você estar mencionando embalagem retornável ou não, seu produto predominante aqui gera crédito, então acredito que você tenha crédito do valor nominal do frete.
    Por favor valide com o fiscal o requerimento primeiro.
