Time correction of camera and gps
The time captured on Image by Camera [Nikon as well as Canon] is in IST. The time Captured in GPS-xml is in GMT.
So when I want to match these two, I will have to convert them to same reference like this.
1. Capture Image time say imageTimeIST
2. Convert it to GMT say imageTimeGMT [Search for support in java.util.Date or Calendar class]
You know that there is even difference between the two devices. We have found that the difference is approximately 6 minutes 7 seconds [find correct value]
We need to give this correction.
1.
2.
3. Compute this difference [I had given you times shown by all three devices at the same moment] needs to be done only once initially.
4. Add this difference to imageTimeGMT so that this new time is comparable with GPS xml.
5. Find out just less and just more records matching from the xml. [here SAX parser will be of help]
6. Interpolate and find values for required exact time.

So, I suppose in daily life, you go up to people, say only, "I have a quetsion," and then they ready your mind and answer your question, yes?

Time differences between camera and iMovie
Hi,
When I import footage from my Mini-DV camera into iMovie I am seeing a difference between the time displayed on the tape and time displayed in iMovie. The camera says 48 seconds while iMovie says 44 seconds. I thought that it might be related to the framerate of the video in iMovie, but I have changed this to 25 fps which matches the video camera and am still seeing a different time. The framerate needs to be perfect as the footage is going to be shown side-by-side with a animated graph which builds with time.
Does anyone have any idea what could cause this time difference?
Thanks< scratching head > we had something about a NTSC/PAL issue.. hmm.. ?
if possible, open an existing PAL project (window titles says DV-PAL), save it under a diff. name, import into that project, delete the not wanted parts..
another option is, quit iMovie, delete ~/Library/Preferences any com.apple.iMovie.plist file.. relaunch iM.. that 'resets' iM... sometimes, it starts to stumble.. -

Syncing time for several cameras
Hi,
I got married a month ago and I have a huge load of pictures comming from several cameras. The problem is, most people don't set up correctly time in their cameras and I would like to have them in sequence.
Question : is there a way to add a certain amount of time to a whole group of pictures ? (let's say for instance that I want to add 2 hours an 13 minutes to 50 pictures at once).
I have tried batch change, but it attributes the same hour to allthe pictures changed...
Thanks !
FredHave you checked out
Photos -> Adjust Date and Time.
That's exactly what that does.

Hello all
I was presented this sample 1080 frame and was asked if I can do this if time and GPS metadata were part of the video recording. In other words, how do you burn in this data in the video itself. I have P Pro CS 6 @ home and am a complete novice to video editing. Final product may or may not need this, more curious as to how its done - special camera system or in post processing?
Thanks! If whoever shot the video recorded time of day timecode synced from a GPS receiver that was close to the camera (in your case that looks like it would mean mounted in the helicopter), you can use the time code data to match your GPS metadata to the video. I use an automated process to incorporate the the metadata into the video, but the process is all done with custom software that the CEO of our company wrote. The other people I've seen incorporating GPS metadata into video are also using customized, proprietary processes. If you're adding the data in post, you will have to translate the data into Premiere titles or After Effects text keyframes or something else that you can overlay on the video.
You can also use hardware during your shoot to overlay the GPS data onto the video. I don't use any products that do this, and I don't know how easy they are to find for purchase, but there definitely are people in the geospatial sector who feed video through a GPS-aware piece of video processing hardware that overlays time and position data in real time. In this case you would feed video (most likely through HD-SDI) from your camera to the GPS overlay hardware and then to a recorder.
There certainly aren't any GPS features built into Premiere Pro. If you want to add titles manually, you'll have to match the time code with your GPS data and make a new title each time the GPS info is supposed to update. GPS data is usually some form of table or spreadsheet with time, coordinates, and other positional data, so you can find the correct time in the video and make a title that includes the corresponding coordinates for that time. If you're doing this for more than a few seconds of video, it will be an unreasonably long and tedious process, but it is possible. -
IPhoto 09, Nikon D90 Camera and GP1 GPS unit
I own a Nikon D90 camera, and have just ordered a Nikon GP 1 GPS unit to use with it. I was wondering if there was anybody in the forum with this setup already, and what experience they are having using it with iPhoto 09. I have written Nikon, and am going to write Apple, with this question, but was hoping there might be somebody that already had the answer and experience in the forum. Any help would be appreciated, thank you, Jim C.
Dual 1 Gig G4, 2 X500 Gig HD, 1.5 Gig Memory Mac OS X (10.5.6)I am using Jobo photoGPS ( alias Geotate Kato) together with Canon EOS450D with to my great satisfaction.
It works with any camera having a flash-shoe; very small unut, excellent battery life.
Raw GPS data is recorded; you need a PC(now on the mac too) to match photos and GPS-data which is then written into EXIF. Diffferent from other units, the clock on this one does not need to be exactly synchronised with the camera.
Importing these photos into iPhoto'09 works without any problems: they are automatically placed in the correct location.
On the other hand, I have enormous problems with loading the maps; they're loade only partly, extremely slowly or not at all. The longer I work in iPhoto, the worse it gets up to complete blocking.
Looks to me very much like a memory-leak. I already contacted Apple: no response.
Restating the Mac temporarily solves/betters the problem.
Any clues? -
We took pictures during oue holidays with two cameras and an iPad. I put all the pictures on my PC and reorganized them by date, time and/or subject, By putting a number in front of the picture name. Then I synced with my iPad. All the pictures show in a misselaneous order. What went or did I wrong?
You did nothing wrong, but the photo app puts stuff in chronological order.
You can look for another app. Afraid I don't have one to suggest, but I do understand that other apps will sort photos differently. -

Develop Module-Under Lens Corrections, Enable Profile Corrections, Lightroom 4.1 won't auto recognize my Nikon D5000 camera and lenses even though they ARE supported. When I manually choose Nikon in this widow, I can only get 8 of the multitude of supported Nikon lenses to show in the drop down. Of these 8 lenses, none match any of my lenses. How do I fix this? I would like to be able to click the check box for "Enable Profile Corrections" and have it auto recognize my camera and lens.
Here is my history:
I shoot in RAW
This is a new install of Lightroom 4.1 on a new computer with all updates installed.
I'm running Win 7 64bit
I previously used Lightroom 3 on a different computer and it worked great with Lightroom 3
I'm a REALTOR that uses Lightroom to edit my photos, not a pro. So, please give answers that a non-pro can understand. I am really hoping there is some simple answer to my problem.
I did search the help file first and couldn't find an answer.
Thank you in advance for the help!!OMG... I'm such a nit-wit!! I switched the setting in my camera to try something and forgot to swith it back!
I've been digging through this for more that an hour and never bothered to check the file setting.
Thanks for the suggestion! -

HT2305 how can I correct my date and time on my 3G?
How can I correct my date and time on my 3G? Thanks in advance!
Just trying to go along the free route. I found Garage Buy This doesn't work to well but lets you create an applescript and enters the auction into ical. Then you can set ical to run the script once it gets closer to the time.
Ical only lets you set a time of a minute before the date. So you have to edit the script to add a Delay 59 to have it run 1 second before. From a few refreshes of the time page it looks like ebay time is a second behind, that could be easily be due to time to load the page. anyway i'll opt for a delay of 57secs and give that a try. -

hi .after up dating my iphon5 to ios 8.1 and 8.1.1 my main cam dot wrong.dost not work correctly.the cam frizzing at the start for 10 sec.but second cam working normally.
I hate being the bearer of bad news, but from what I have read on the Forum and FAQ, you will need to un-install Network Magic from all of your computers making sure that no NM settings folders are left behind under users. Then unplug all wired computers and rebuild your network by re-installing NM in each computer before connecting it to your router. After you have added all of your wired computers, set up your wireless network and install NM and add each wireless computer.
That is a lot of work. I hope this helps.
