Time format hours ("hh24") delim (.or,) (1/4) hour values as decimal value

Dear all,
What I need is a client (browser) site validation of values for a time recording system. The format should be as
<hh24><Delimiter>(.(or),) 1/4 hours as decimal value (e.g. 15 minutes = 0.25). So as a result valid entrys should be. 00.00 as min., 24.00 as max.
The "minutes"-part should only except full 1/4 hour values: 00, 25, 50, 75 or blank.
More valid variation could be:
.75 (45 minutes) should be considered as 00.75.
1.25 , 9 ( = 9 hours)
A colleague helped me and created the regexp pattern.
(?<=\A)(([01]?[0-9]|2[0-4])[\.,]?)?([\.,](0{1,2}|25|50|75))?(?=(\z))
It works perfect in "The Regex Coach", but sadly it does not work in a java script.
My hope is, that someon already has a solution for this or a similar task.
If so, please let me know and give me a hint.
Thank you very much in advance.
and best regards.
Andre

Hi Ben,
thank you for your response.
since I not only want to ask for help, I will let you konw our solution. It has been a little mind twisting
However, Just in case someone is interestet in...
function xaChk_TimeDecimalFormat(pItem)
   var check = $v(pItem);
   var regexpval = "^((([01]?[0-9])|(2[0-4]))?([,\.](00?))?|(([01]?[0-9])|(2[0-3]))?([,\.](00|25|50|5|75))?)$";
   if (check.search(regexpval,"g") < 0)
   {alert ('Ungültiges Zeiterfassungs-Format. \n gültig Werte sind: \n max. 24h und nur volle 1/4 Stunden als Decimalwert z.B. 0.25 für 15 Min.') };
function xaChk_TimeClockFormat(pItem)
   var check = $v(pItem);
   var regexpval = "^((([01]?[0-9])|(2[0-4]))?([,\.](00))?|(([01]?[0-9])|(2[0-3]))?([,\.](00|15|30|45))?)$";
   if (check.search(regexpval,"g") < 0)
   {alert ('Ungültiges Zeiterfassungs-Format. \n gültig Werte sind: \n max. 24h und nur volle 1/4 Stunden als Minuten z.B. 0.15.') };
;Thanks again to all how wasted any thought on this. :-)

    Dear Experts
    I want difference between two times.
    Is It possible?

    Hi,
    What is the data type that you are storing the times in your database?
    If it's date, then Oracle will internally store in it's own format and show the time according to your session's NLS parameters.
    You can simply use date1-date2, which will show the difference in number of days. Hours and minutes are shown in fractions.

  • CONTACT NAMES NOT DISPLAYING & TIME FORMAT CHANGING AFTER SYNC

    i live in kuwait and i was just gifted an officially unlocked 3g iphone from new zealand. i upgraded to 2.1. i have 2 problems
    1. i have synced my contacts from address book. the format that it is stored in is +965XXXXXX. 965 is the country code for kuwait and all numbers in kuwait are of 7 digits. there is no area code as this is a small country. when someone calls me their name does not appear. only the number appears
    2. i have set the time format on the iphone to the 24 hour format but every time i sync with my macbook the time format changes to 12 hour format.

    Follow this procedure to get your contacts back (I assume they are on your Mac/PC):
    1. Go to Settings, then Mail, Contacts, Calendars
    2. Select your account which has the contacts you wish to sync
    3. Turn syncing for Contacts to "Off". This will bring up a box telling you your iPhone is turning off Contacts. My iPhone actually hung at this stage, so after several minutes, I performed a hard restart (holding down Home and power buttons for 5 sec.)
    4. Exit from Settings
    5. Go to Settings, then Mail, Contacts, Calendars
    6. Select your account which has the contacts you wish to sync
    7. Turn syncing for Contacts to "On". This should restore your contacts
    8. Go to Contacts to verify. They initially may not appear or just show up as numbers for a second or two, but then your contacts should appear.

  • 24 or 12 hour time format

    Hi
    Is it possible to check whether the iPhone is set to display 12 or 24 hour time format?
    I tried checking this by using the NSDateFormatter AMSymbol, but it always seems to return "AM", no matter what time format or locale I have selected on the device.

    I don't know of any way to read any of the system settings directly, but this code is sensitive to the system 24-Hour Time switch:
    NSDateFormatter *dateFormatter = [[NSDateFormatter alloc] init];
    [dateFormatter setDateStyle:NSDateFormatterNoStyle];
    [dateFormatter setTimeStyle:NSDateFormatterShortStyle];
    NSString* currentTime = [dateFormatter stringFromDate:[NSDate date]];
    label.text = currentTime;
    [dateFormatter release];
    For some reason I also can't find any NSDateFormatter property that knows about 24-hour time(?!). I probably just need to look harder, but if nothing else, I think you could reliably detect that format by checking for AM/PMSymbol with rangeOfString.

  • Change time format to 24 hours

    Dear Experts,
    In  my webdynpro application I have a requirement where I have to use a 24 hr time format, but by default it is shown as 12 hr format, because of the language in portal.
    And I only want to change the format in this application only, not of all the portal.
    Please suggest.
    Warm Regards,
    Upendra Agrawal

    Hi Upendra,
    Assign the value from backend to the newly created attribute of type new simple type. This will convert it to the 24 hrs format
    OR
    if you get the date from backend,
    Try using a date formatter.
      String s;
      Format formatter;
      Date date = // Your date value from the backend.
      formatter = new SimpleDateFormat("HH.mm.ss");
      s = formatter.format(date);
    This will give the time in 24 hrs in the variable 's'.
    Pls try this and let me know.
    Thanks and Regards,
    Shyam.

  • Time format to Decimal format

    Hi all
    Does anyone know how to format time format to decimal number?
    Eg: '10:21' in HH24:MI to 10.21
    '21:09' to 21.09
    Thanks in Advance
    Prash

    Since you just want to replace the colon with a period in a string, just use the string replace function:
    select replace('10:21',':','.') from dual;However if you convert this to a number, then as Boneist said it's not really comparable to the time portion of a date as 21 minutes is not 21/100 of an hour but is rather .35 hours (21/60). You won't be able to use this decimalized format as a meaningful number, nor will you be able to do any sort of date based arithmatic on it.
    You may be better off converting your string to date, then into a number via some date math:
    with sample_data as (select to_date('11:21','HH24:MI') dt from dual)
    select dt, (dt - trunc(dt))*24 from sample_data;Edited by: Sentinel on Nov 10, 2008 9:40 AM

  • Display value in hh:mm time format in SSRS Report

    Hi Everybody,
    I have an SSRS report where one of the column is sum of time values. When I do the summation, the values are coming in this format. In the last column the minute value is getting displayed more than 60. How can I format it to proper time format as hh:mm
    so that it displays as "08:15" . The expression which I am using is "  Sum(CDec(FormatNumber(Fields!Overtime_Hours.Value,2)),"Month"). Your help would be highly appreciated.

    Regards RCP

    Hi RPC24,
    According to your description, you can calculate the correct value of time summation. Now you want to make the result into proper time format (hh:mm). Right?
    In this scenario, we can convert the time into string type, split the string based on delimiter ":" and convert each part into integer. Then do the calculation for each part and set the hour increase 1 every 60 minutes (we can adjust in expression).
    We have tested this case in our local environment. Here are screenshots for you reference:
    1. The report design looks like below:
    A: =Format(TimeValue(Fields!StartTime.Value.ToString),"hh:mm")
    B:=CStr(SUM(CInt(split(CStr(Format(TimeValue(Fields!StartTime.Value.ToString),"hh:mm")),":")(0)))+SUM(CInt(split(CStr(Format(TimeValue(Fields!StartTime.Value.ToString),"hh:mm")),":")(1)))\60)+":"+CStr(SUM(CInt(split(CStr(Format(TimeValue(Fields!StartTime.Value.ToString),"hh:mm")),":")(1)))
    Mod 60)
    Ps: In this sample, we used Time data type. You may need to do some modification in your expression based on the data type of the time data field.
    2. The result looks like below:
    Reference:
    Summing the Value of HH: MM: SS In SSRS

  • Time format in week view

    Hi all,
    There are 2 machines here in the office, my Powerbook G4 and a PowerMac G4. On the Powerbook, the week view in iCal has 24 hour times, but on the PowerMac it has 12 hour times.
    Both machines are using iCal 1.5.5
    Any idea how we can change the 12 hour times to 24?

    Margaret,
    I believe that your problem stems from user settings that you can set up/change in International Preferences.
    Quit iCal, Open System Preferences...>International>Formats>
    Choose Customize...>Dates/Times>Show> and change each entry (Short/Medium/Long/Full) to match your desires/requrements.
    Restart iCal and check for your changes.
    Good Luck.

    At first, my macbook couldn't start up. It only displayed apple logo with a spinning wheel on grey screen for hours and hours. Then I decided to reinstall the OS. • Specifying date time format in Finder

    How can I specify the date-time format in Finder for the "date-modified" and "date-created" columns in list view?
    About three years ago, I got a command line instruction to set these formats and I kept it at mm/dd/yy
    Then a couple days ago, I changed the date format in iStat menus and the date-time formats started acting weird. I want the dates to be like "07/08/05" (mm/dd/yy) and then the formats started changing to "November 07, 2008" (month/dd/yyyy). This change seemed to take effect any time I open the view options for a folder. Now I discovered that the date format change depending on the column width according to the format specified in system preferences, international, formats.
    Narrow column, short date format; a little wider to long format, with ellipses if the column is not wide enough; then full format.
    Does anyone know the command line to set the format to keep it to the one I want?

    this doesn't seem to be it. however I now like the way Finder does display dates -- format gets more compact as the width of the column decreases; although there still is some excess space left on the left -- perhaps for AM & PM which I don't use; I use a 24 hour time format instead.
    Happy New Year

    Oracle-DBA

    I have some suggestions. But first, you realize that you have some redundant indexes, right? You have an index on account(account_name) and also account(account_name, account_id), and also account_history(invoice_id) and account_history(invoice_id, adjustment_id). No matter, I will suggest some new composite indexes.
    Also, you do not need two lines for these conditions:
    and round(a.account_balance, 2) > 0
    AND a.account_balance > 0
    You can just use: and a.account_balance >= 0.005
    So the formatted query isselect a.account_id,
           round(a.account_balance, 2) account_balance,
           nvl(ah.invoice_id, ah.adjustment_id) transaction_id,
           to_char(ah.effective_start_date, 'DD-MON-YYYY') transaction_date,
           to_char(nvl(i.payment_due_date, to_date('30-12-9999', 'dd-mm-yyyy')),
                   'DD-MON-YYYY') due_date,
           ah.current_balance - ah.previous_balance amount,
           decode(ah.invoice_id, null, 'A', 'I') transaction_type
      from account a, account_history ah, invoice i
    where a.account_id = ah.account_id
       and a.account_type_id = 1000002
       and (ah.invoice_id is not null or ah.adjustment_id is not null)
       and ah.CURRENT_BALANCE > ah.previous_balance
       and ah.invoice_id = i.invoice_id(+)
       AND a.account_balance >= .005
    order by a.account_id, ah.effective_start_date desc;You will probably want to select:
    1. From ACCOUNT first (your smaller table), for which you supply a literal on account_type_id. That should limit the accounts retrieved from ACCOUNT_HISTORY
    2. From ACCOUNT_HISTORY. We want to limit the records as much as possible on this table because of the outer join.
    3. INVOICE we want to access last because it seems to be least restricted, it is the biggest, and it has the outer join condition so it will manufacture rows to match as many rows as come back from account_history.
    Try the query above after creating the following composite indexes. The order of the columns is important:create index account_composite_i on account(account_type_id, account_balance, account_id);
    create index acct_history_comp_i on account_history(account_id, invoice_id, adjustment_id, current_balance, previous_balance, effective_start_date);
    create index invoice_composite_i on invoice(invoice_id, payment_due_date);All the columns used in the where clause will be indexed, in a logical order suited to the needs of the query. Plus each selected column is indexed as well so that we should not need to touch the tables at all to satisfy the query.
    Try the query after creating these indexes.
