Time isn't on my side!

Hey... I have a peculiar problem here... When I try to set the time zone on my Pod, it seems there is an India-shaped hole in the iPod's time zone settings. As a result, I have to choose the closest city which is Karachi and is half an hour behind Indian Standard Time. Now curiously, when I want to set an alarm I can use a different clock under Mumbai (Bombay) but since the Pod is set to half an hour before Mumbai time everything gets a little messy!...
A minor irritant but it is quite annoying... anyone has any workarounds?

Hi... sorry about the late reply... but there is no city that is on my time zone far as I can see... I need a city that is 5 hrs and 30 mins ahead of G.M.T... and there is none on the list. Its hard to imagine that putting all this effort into this nifty little thing they missed time zones!

Difficulties using iCal because time isn't showing up.

I am trying to make a schedule for school using ical but on the left hand side in the weekly view it does not display the time of day. Instead it just says sat and then noon and then continues with sat. I tried logging on as a guest and it worked fine but on my personal account it doesn't ...
Ive also tried going into the preferences and it gives me the option to start my calendar at 6:25 am, noon or midnight however it doesnt seem to make a difference on the calendar.

LSO WBT: learning progress time isn't saved for otype P (but works for US)

We're noticing that the progress time of a web-based training isn't saved for a person (otype P). However, for a user (otype US), the time is saved correctly in table LSOLEARNING_C.
The number of completed learning objects is saved though, it seems the problem is only with the time (field TTIMECRS).
What could be the reason for this behaviour? Thanks!!

Hi Dave,
There is an authorization issue with the standard "LSO_CPLAYER" role. I am assuming you have assigned this role to the Content Player communication user. I also had the same issue. I did not have a luxury of time so the immediate fix for us was to assign additional authorization to the user id that resolved the issue.
The reason it works only when there is no pernr attached to the user id is that, in this specific situation the system uses the User Ids authorization to update the data in back-end. When the pernr is attached to the user id then the system uses the Content Player user id to update the data. While doing so if the standard role "LSO_CPLAYER" is assigned then due to the missing authorization it is able to update everything except the time. Please let me know if you require any further clarification or information on this.

I haven't used my iPod in a few months. Gave it full charge, music showing on screen and in iTunes. But when I push play, it says "Now Playing", but the time isn't moving forward and nothing is playing. I have already reset it and that didn't help.

I've had this iPod Classic for a couple of years, and only use it every so often, mostly when I travel. Just bought a speaker so I can listen in the house. Gave it a full charge. The music is showing up on the screen, and it also shows up in iTunes on my computer. When I try to play something, whether it's a song, artist, album, whatever, the screen shows the name of the song and displays "Now Playing". The time stays on 0.00, however and doesn't move forward; and no sound is coming out whether on the new docking speaker or with a headset. I tried the reset procedure, but still no change. Can anyone help me? Thanks!!!

A 4th gen iPod can not be upgraded to iOS 8. 7.0.2 is the high version it can run.

HELP! edit capture time isn't working!

I'm trying to adjust a bunch of image capture times from my second shooter to match my image capture time. I have done this many times, and now it seems it won't work. I can only do one at a time now. Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Thats how I'm doing it. I select all the images i need changed. Make sure I'm in Library mode. Then click metadata up above then edit capture time. It use to allow me to change all. Now it only lets me change one. So frustrated! I can't seem to find anything online as to why this is. {unless I am doing it all wrong somehow} John R. Ellis

Still no solution to times not showing on left side of iCal

I still have not gotten a solution to why the hourly times (eg 8 a.m.) do not show in the left column of iCal in both the daily and weekly views. Only Noon shows in the column under the year header.
If I print a calendar for one of those views, the times DO show on the printed page as expected.
The problem showed up on this machine after the 10.4.x upgrade, but dates show on another machine on the same home network running 10.4.
I have removed the iCal prefs as suggested in a previous post, but that had no effect. I have adjusted my prefs to the day range and hours to show at a time and there were no changes. My pref setting are the same as the other computer that shows times.
Is this a font conflict? The date on the iCal icon shows misaligned when it is open which I know was a font conflict.

3D Extrude Isn't Drawing All Sides

I'm trying to create the illusion that the objects in the attached example are extending back into space, but the 3D extrude effect is only drawing the top and bottom of the object and not either of the sides. How can I fix this so they look like solid objects?

Try clicking the Draw hidden faces in the More Options panel and the expand and remove the unneeded parts.

Time isn't right since Daylight Savings started - is yours?

I've got my time displaying in the title bar, and since the time change last night it is reporting Greenwich time instead of my CDT. I'm in -6 from GMT but with daylight savings time adjustment the iPod is 5 hours ahead of me.
I've tried rebooting the iPod and doing a restore, neither one seem to be working. Anyone else?

Found out later that the time zone had (without my help) reset to Hawaii! Fixed it.

Can you clarify what Mac and Mac OS you really have? Facetime was introduced in 2010, four years after PowerMacs were discontinued. And "iOS" is not an computer OS.
Doing "About this Mac" will show your processor type and OSX version. That should help us figure out if you need to be moved to a different forum.

Face time isn't working on brand new ipod touch 4-new apple id also

Not sure why, I've got a new apple id and i enter the password and it just kicks me back to the "enter password" screen. I've doublechecked the password etc.

- iOS: Not responding or does not turn on
- Also try DFU mode after try recovery mode

- If not successful and you can't fully turn the iOS device fully off, let the battery fully drain. After charging for an least an hour try the above again.
- Try on another computer
- If still not successful that usually indicates a hardware problem and an appointment at the Genius Bar of an Apple store is in order.

Classic Report totals on all pages?

I've been using APEX (4.0.1) for about a week, & I'm generally loving it, but the question in the subject has me stumped despite half a day of Googling. The built-in totals (selecting 'sum' on the columns) are all well & good, but I need them to appear on every page of results, not just at the end. Unfortunately I need to get this done ASAP to demo to a client so time isn't on my side. Is it possible, & if so, how? My Javascript knowledge is virtually zero so please treat me like a complete idiot if that's the only way to do it...

I purchased a seagate 5T hard drive that I would like to partition and have time machine on one side and drag and drop on the other side. Is this possible, and if so how?

I purchased a Seagate 5T external harddrive which stated it was for both Mac and PC.
I want to partition the drive so I can have a partition for time machine and a partition for drag and drop.
My Mac book pro 17inch model has parallels. I would like a partition for time machine for the mac side and a partition for the PC side as well and a third partition for just saving work files so I don't clog up my laptop. IS this possible? DrMAV

yes it is possible using 'disk utility'. format the time machine backup as Mac OS Extended( journaled). The windows partition can use FAT32.
