Time Zone Activation

Hello,
I am trying to determine how the time zone functionality is activated in SAP ERP.
There is a checkbox labeled "Time Zones Active" in the IMG at SPRO>NetWeaver>General Settings>Time Zones>Maintain System Settings.
If I enter a time zone which is different than the system time zone in my user profile, the system posts entries in my local time REGARDLESS of whether the checkbox above is checked.
Is there another place where the time zone function is activated/de-activated?
Thanks,
Dan

  • Location Services: Setting Time Zone... Always Active

Just wondering if anybody else is experiencing the always active SETTING TIME ZONE setting in LOCATION SERVICES / SYSTEM SERVICES.
It's always purple - never stops polling for location.
I've noticed a change in the battery life for my iPhone 4 and I think this is the culprit.
Is that setting needed for anything in particular or can it safely be turned off?
Thanks for any advice you have!

Grrrrrr, now (after the iOS 5.0.1 update), this is happening not only on my iPad, but also on my iPhone 4S, which never had the problem on iOS 5.0.  So, instead of going from 1 to 0 devices having the problem, I've gone from 1 to 2 after the update!  Isn't this the opposite of what was supposed to happen?
Letting the iPhone sleep for a while, shutting it off and turning it back on, resetting it with home+power, all do nothing.  Weirdly, it *wasn't* doing this right after I did the update; it only started about a day or so later.
****Update: and now it's off again, but it did come on for about 10 minutes and then turned off again.  Hmmmmm. I agree that having the status bar icon enabled is a good idea, to at least be able to see when this happens and disable it if you're in a situation where battery life matters.

  • Time zone purple arrow always active iOS 5.0.1

Is this happening for every one? The time zone  location service is ALWAYS active in 5.0.1 in both my 4S and my iPad 2.

I'm also noticing this after the update.  In 5.0 my iPad 1 had the purple arrow always on, no matter what, and my iPhone 4S was normal (arrow just once in a while, briefly).  Now, after the update, both have the arrow on for really really really long periods of time.  However, at least on the iPad, there's a difference: whereas before the update, this was clearly running down the battery quickly, after the update, it doesn't seem to be affecting the battery much.  (I read for quite a while with the arrow on and battery at 99%, which would not have happened before, when I could practically watch it tick down without blinking)
On both devices, the arrow *does* eventually turn off, but it takes a long long time to decide to do so.  (Maybe an hour, even)    It's annoying that whereas the iPhone had been acting "normally" before the update and it was a big problem on the iPad, now both devices are stuck with this semi-problem.  Fixing the broken one would have been better than half-fixing the broken one and half-breaking the OK one!

  • How do I set and use a custom time zone?

We're developing a mixed HTML, javascript and Flex application.
In our HTML/Flex application, one of user's settings is the time zone he wishes to use. Since this can be different from the local time zone of the computer he happens to be using, we need to tell flex to interpret all dates as being in a foreign time zone e.g. force it to America/Los_Angeles.
I'm hoping there is a way to specify this in flex, so we don't have to do offset calculations on every single Date object. This would be very complicated, as I'm sure you know (and no, it is not simply UTC + x, where x is a constant, or x is an integer number of hours...)
Is there a way to do this in flex?
    Peter
P.S: I've found these related things so far:
asTimeZone: The svn repository is 404, and there seems to be no activity, but looks interesting...
A reference to the system class, but I couldn't find anything interested in the system class.
A comment that player 10 should have something useful, but I didn't find any thing about it elsewhere.
    But nothing was really helpful...

Oh, perhaps this isn't possible, according to Timezone Issues with remote (Date/Time) data and flash
But if you have knowledge of a way to do it, please let us know here.

  • How do you change the time zone/time on the iPod nano (6th generation)?

    Hello,
I recently moved to a new city in another time zone and I am not able to figure out (or find out on forums) how to change the time on my 6th gen iPod nano. It's something I would like to fix because the Fitness application records your activity according to time. Any advice would be great!

Go to SETTINGS on your iPod Nano 6G.
From SETTINGS -> GENERAL -> DATE & TIME -> TIME ZONE and select the right zone/location form there.

  • ISE 1.3 - Multiple ADs and time zone

    Hi all,
I have a question regarding time zone settings, AD interaction and ISE PSN.
    Assuming the following deployment:
    - ISE distributed deployment with 3
    - Each PSN is joined to a AD at a specific site (example: one in USA, one in Europe, one in Asia)
If the DCs at each site have different clocks (same UTC time source, but different time zone) I'll probably run into issues, right?
    Because:
    First fact:
Set correct time and timezone. Kerberos needs to be within 5 mins of the DCs you use
     (Source: Cisco Live Breakout BRKSEC-2132)
    Second fact:
Also, it is important to have all the nodes in a single ISE deployment configured to the same
time zone. If you have ISE nodes located in different geographical locations or time zones, you should
use a global time zone such as UTC on all the ISE nodes.
     (Source: ISE 1.3 admin guide)
So the first recommendation is, that the ISE PSN has the same clock as the local DC - on the other hand the time zones in one distributed deployment should be the same on all nodes.
    What to do?
    Big thanks in advance!
    Johannes

Not yet - In my lab environment I'm not having a multi-tier CA (and I'm not very good when it comes to Microsoft Active-Directory stuff :) )
    Edit:
I did one very limited test in my testlab. In my testlab I'm having one DC and two ISE appliances.
Test1: I removed the AD join of the ISE appliances. The ISEs are configured for CET and I reconfigured the time zone of the DCs to UTC-7:00.
ISE and DC clocks are correct (synced against NTP), but the absolute time is different due to different time zones.
Then I joined the ISEs again - and it worked.
Test2: I removed the AD join of the ISE appliances. The ISEs are configured for CET and I configured an incorrect static time to the DCs (some weird time).
    ISE join won't work
Error Description: Clock skew detected with active directory server
    Support Details...
    Error Name: LW_ERROR_CLOCK_SKEW
    Error Code: 40087
Perfect - different time zones are obviously ok...

  • Using ical in 2 different time zones

I use ical in uk. When I am in CA I also use my powerbook and ical to keep appointments here. My secretary enters appointments in UK, they appear with US time ie +8 hrs. How if possible do I keep appointments in both countries in the local time? Thanks

You'll want to enable Time Zone support in iCal. It's in the advanced tab of preferences. Once activated, when you create a new appointment, you specify which timezone the appointment is for. Depending on the time-zone your computer is currently set to, the appointment will show the appointment in your local time.
Thus for example if you have an appointment in CA at 11am PST, you'd set PST as the time zone when you enter it in the UK. In the UK, it would appear as 8 hours ahead, or 7pm. When you get to CA & change the time zone on your laptop to PST, iCal would show the event in the now local time.

  • Different time zones between R/3 and APO

    Hi experts,
Can anyone explain me which is the impact in having the R/3 in local time zone ( CDT, for example) and the APO in UTC?
    Thanks in advance,
    Regards,
    Gyo

I believe you are mentioning about the SYSTEM TIME ZONE.
(Use transaction- STZAC to view it.)
Generally it is recommended that you maintain the same system time zone in APO similar to the time zone in R3.
However I remember in one of my implementation projects-4.1 SCM, we just left the SYSTEM TIME ZONE in APO to the default value given by SAP --(CET) whereas in R3 ,it was maintained as GMT.
    (1) There were no issues as far as I remember.
    (2) However we changed it to UTC/GMT( same time zone as that of R3) in APO after Go-Live with no issues at all
*We had our Basis Team contact SAP and they said that we could do so without any harm*
The reason for our change was that we wanted the BAck Order Processing results to update immediately based on
"1.1     Checking the Time Zone in SAP SCM
    Use
This is an optional activity. Depending on your deployment of your SCM and ERP systems, the appropriate time zone should be customized in your system landscape. However, if you want to get the Backorder Processing result updated in the SAP ERP immediately, you’d better to set the two systems in the same time zones. You can get more details from the SAP note 443500.
    http://help.sap.com/bp_bblibrary/500/documentation/T12_BB_ConfigGuide_EN_ZH.doc"
Also all the objects( Locations, Resources ..etc) should have a timezone maintained- Some of the them are automatically determined from R3 and sometimes you have to maintain.

  • Time Zone in Portugal

It seems this is an old issue and it's incredible how Apple didn't correct it yet. When setting the time zone for Portugal in icloud it says Portugal is in Central European Time (GMT). WRONG! Portugal is in the same time zone as the UK and Ireland. I guess Apple thnks this is a minor issue and Portugal doesn't buy that much devices for Apple to care correcting a very old bug. This causes problems synchro with Outlook for example and I don't want to activate time zone management just because of this. Does Apple have a place to report bugs?
BTW, can't add the image as said above. The insert image option is not active....and the file is small sized. and it's a jpg. and i'm using ie8... Sad

    Any suggestions??
How did you try to correct the time, Victoria? Don't use "Metadata > Adjust date and time" (unless you already used it - then you need to revert that change), but use "Metadata > Batch change > Adjust Time Zone". The problem is, that when image files do not contain a Time Zone stamp, Aperture will by default use the current system time your mac is set to as the time zone of the images on import. Usually you will set the "Camera Time" and "Actual Time" in the Import panel, to tell Aperzur ethe correct time zones. Only that is not possible, if you are importing images taken in several time zones at the same time.
You cannot batch change all the time zones of all images at once, if the camera time zones differ - it is really a bit involved. I had similar problems with my camera and iPad, when we were travelling in Aslaska and Canada this summer and were frequently changing the Time Zones - sometimes two times a day. The iPad with automatic time zone setting was very problemitic, because I never could be sure of the time zone on the iPad - if there was no Wi-F,i it would use Canadian Time on Alaska ictures and vica versa.
Separate your photos into albums with images that you are sure have been taken with the same camera (iPhone, Canon) and with the same time zone setting in the camera.
Then, e.g., select the album with all photos taken on the iPhone, with the Time Zone set on the iPhone to "Portugal" and use Metadata > Batch change > Adjust Time Zone" with the setting "Camera Time is Portugal" (since your camera was set to Portugal, when the photos have been taken)
To prevent this kind of problem, I always keep all camera times set to UTC. This way I always exactly know the time the camera was set set, when I import the image and do not have to remember to change the time when travelling. Only, that is not feasable with iPhone and iPad. If you want to use your iPhone as a clock and not only as a camera, it is impractical to have it set to UTC.

  • Can the central system and the sender system at different time zone?

We have a control(i.e. central) system which is 6 hours ahead of the sender system.

Error in the ABAP Application Program
The current ABAP program "SAPLCNVTDMS_BW_FUNCTIONS_REM" had to be terminated  .
We never get this error before on this step.  The only thing I can think of is that the sender and the central system
    are at different time zone.
    Please share your experience.
    Thanks!

    Hi,
By looking at the runtime error , the reason of the dump should not be the timestamp diff .
You can create an OSS ticket with SAP for further analysis.
Also, there can be data consistency issues due to time diff .
    Cheers

  • Why the time in my calander changes the time zone?

After addind event to my calender for a certain time. When i check back after sometime I see the time zone Cupertino instead of Halifax and this chages the alert alarm? Does anybody have I dea what's going on.  Also this events records different time on the icloud calander. Thanks in advance for your help.

Are the other icons in the upper right of the dock working okay? It's possible the menu bar (more accurately, SystemUIServer) has crashed or has hung. You could try killing it in Activity Monitor and it should re-launch and your dock should update.

  • Time Zone Stamp

On the website activity page does the time stamp of a phone call and message show up as the time zone where the call is placed or received.
Specifically, on my family plan one user is in Central Time Zone about 75 percent of the time.  If the person is in Central Time Zone and I am in Eastern Time Zone, how does the call or text message show up on the call activity and on the billing?
If one family plan person is in CST and calls or texts another plan member at 8pm CST, what time is going to be on the call activity at the website?  The person initiating the call or receiving the call?
If a phone is off, are the time stamps of text messages the time the message was sent or the time the phone is turned back on?
I have not been able to get a verifiable response to this question.

It is according to how you look at the logs.
If you look at the logs of the person in CST most the time, when they are there, the time is based on Central time. So if they call you and you look at YOUR call log, and you are on eastern time, the time will be an hour later on your log than their log

  • Outlook Client recurring appointments time zone / GMT offset problem

I will try to describe this with text, although it's a very visual problem.  I added a post to my blog with
it so I could include pictures.  If you think you need pictures to understand the text below, please review that entry.  Please note, the one appointment instance cited below, is an example, there are many others with this same problem,
and it only happens with recurring appointments.
    Relevant System Information:
    Windows 7 Utlimate
    Office 2010 Professional Plus (14.0.6023.1000 64-bit)
    Exchange services hosted by Microsoft.
Android HTC Inspire 4G also configured as exchange active sync client.
    Issue Description:
I have a specifications meeting that is scheduled for Tuesday mornings (every 2 weeks) at 8:30 am.  In the body of the appointment, it even has this text spelled out.  "When: Occurs every 2 weeks on Tuesday effective 11/23/2010 from 8:30
AM to 11:30 AM (UTC-05:00) Eastern Time (US & Canada)." as an indicator of the actual appointment time.  The problem is that one day, several weeks after this appointment had been sent to me, Outlook 2010 decided that it was really at 1:30 PM.
Since that time it's been showing incorrectly on my calendar at 1:30 PM.   So, I recognized almost immediately that this was a 5 hour difference, which happens to also be my timezone offset (except that I'm currently in daylight savings time -- so
    it's really a -4 offset right now).
I ran the 2010 service pack 1 installer, based on the suggestion of my IT group, and found I already had the service pack installed.  I've tried the timezone tool as well and that didn't work.  Please keep reading.
Next I went to my exchange host with outlook web access.   The appointment is closer to correct there, showing at 9:30am.  It think here it almost seems as though it's applying the DST, but not correctly, maybe doubling it?.
Meanwhile, back in outlook, if I go to the scheduling assistant and look at my time while making an appointment with other invitees it - much to my surprise - matches the time in OWA, not the time in outlook client.
Finally, if I go to my Android and look at the appointment, it is correct.  8:30 AM.
    So to summarize:
    Real Appoinment:   8:30 AM
    Outlook Client Time: 1:30 PM
OWA / Exchange Time: 9:30 AM
    Android Calendar Time: 8:30 AM
This applies to many others, this is just a convenient example.
This applies only to recurring appointments.
Any help would be very appreciated.
    Thanks,
    Jon

Status Update, and recommended next steps:
I opened a ticket with HTC support the day before yesterday (Ticket # 03543601). The initial response was an email reply with the typical level one suggestion to remove and re-add the Exchange ActiveSync account on my phone, and if that didn't resolve the
issue to do a hard reset and then add the account again. Since I have multiple users experiencing this same issue, where the common denominator seems to be centralized around the move from Outlook 2007 to 2010 and the HTC Gingerbread OS, I convinced them that
this would not be an acceptable remedy, and my case was immediately escalated without hesitation. I will say that though I don't have a resolution, I'll applaud HTC for not giving me the runaround and giving me a live person who could talk intelligently about
    the issue.
Today, I received a phone call back on this ticket  from someone in the escalations department at HTC named Travis. After explaining the issue in detail to him and referencing
this specific thread, he acknowledged that it did in fact sound like a coding issue coming from the device where the value in the “dispidApptTZDefStartDisplay” property was being set improperly by the device/stock email/calendar application in their implementation
of ActiveSync. He then stated that he would relay this to the developers to look into the issue. He further elaborated that the case would either be in a status of, "this is being looked into", or "We believe this to be resolved in [x] update". He said that
they will probably continue releasing updates for the Incredible (I did not specifically ask about the Incredible 2), and while the Incredible 2 is definitely slated to get Ice Cream Sandwich, the Incredible one is still in a classification of, "being evaluated".
Personally, I doubt that the Inc 1 will get ICS, but it is possible. From what I have read, the general stance is that phones will be updated for 18 months after release, and the Inc 1 is 24 months old this month (bummer - I REALLY like this phone).
According to Verizon and HTC, these are the phones that will get ICS (or Android 4.0):
Ice Cream Sandwich Coming to Many Verizon Wireless Smartphones
Android 4.0, Ice Cream Sandwich Updates
While it is possible that an update will be released for the Incredible 1 to fix this issue, it will likely be months before one is available, so we'll probably have to move to Touchdown for Exchange by NitroDesk in order to resolve this issue....or move to
a newer phone with ICS 4.0.
Speaking of which, there is a whole laundry list of issues with Exchange ActiveSync and third-party devices. A number of them are listed in this Microsoft KB article:
Current issues with Microsoft Exchange ActiveSync and third-party devices
    Per the article:
Microsoft's recommendation for Android - Upgrade to Android OS 4.0
Microsoft's recommendation for iPhone/iOS devices - Upgrade to iOS version 5
So, for anyone on Android experiencing this issue (or others listed in the Microsoft KB above), if your phone is likely to get ICS soon, then you may want to hold on and just be vigilant about checking your calendar on OWA. If your phone isn't slated to get
ICS or if you can't wait, my recommendation is to get Touchdown for $20. You may still have to delete and re-create appointments that are wrong, but hopefully the issue won't happen any more once you move to Touchdown. And if they do, at least you've got a
shot at a more rapid fix with a company like NitroDesk. (no offense HTC).
Good luck. I probably won't post again unless I get notice of a fix for this specific issue or some other significantly useful information.
