  • Desktop java program: wait for page to load

We're using a macro-builder which records actions and re-executes them via a java program. Basically, the program is supposed to open IE, go to a page, enter a username and password, and click a link within the new page that comes up after login. The issue at hand is that the second page takes too long to load, and the recorded "click" in the macro occurs to soon. Is there any way to identify when the page has completed loading before the app continues?
    Thanks,
    Jonathan

Is there any way to identify when the page has
completed loading before the app continues? Not in Java. Probably not even in Visual Basic (I wrote some VB programs that attempted to do that sort of thing several years ago and they never worked properly).

  • BackupExec: A timeout occurred waiting for NDMPD.NLM to init

"Error: 1004 A timeout occurred waiting for NDMPD.NLM to initialize."
A very common and well documented issue but every fix I have found has not worked. The list is extensive so I will start by describing the issue, then the environment and finally what I have tried so far.
    The issue
I can not load BackupExec 9.1 or 9.2 on NetWare 6.5 SP8. The loader starts and when it gets to loading NDMPD.NLM the CPU hits 99% (reported by monitor.nlm) and BackupExec stops loading for about 80-120 seconds. The loader eventually gives up after a non-critical abend. From this point on I can not unload becdm.cdm and I generally reboot the server to clear the abend.
BackupExec has been working on the server for about 2 years, I can not link any changes to the time it stopped working.
It used to load reliably every time for about 1.5 years and then it started to exhibit this issue when loading 1 in 10 times. It has gradually gotten worse and now will not load at all.
Before you say it, yes I know Symantec dropped BackupExec for NetWare years ago.
It seems to me this can only be a hardware issue now but I'm keen to hear any other ideas?
    The environment
    * The physical server is a HP DL385 G5 (SKU 411360-371), the tape drive is an external half height HP Ultrium 448 LTO 2 (SKU DW086A) using SAS to connect to a HP SC44Ge SAS HBA (SKU 416096-B21). It has 18GB of RAM, Two quad-core AMD Opteron 2352 2.1 GHz CPU's and 5 x direct attached SAS hard drives running on the internal P400 RAID controller configured with RAID 5.
    * I can provide firmware versions if needed, the BIOS is HP A09 2009-07-11. Don't have the tape drive or HBA versions to hand.
    * The server is running VMware ESXi 4.1.0 build 260247, using a free license i.e. stand alone.
    * The VMware server uses about 50% of RAM, 70% of storage and 12% of CPU.
    * The guest is NetWare 6.5 SP8 (overlay) running as a guest with 4GB of vRAM and a single CPU. The tape drive is presented as a generic SCSI device.
    * I'm running BackupExec for NetWare 9.2.1401.5 build 287839 with the NetWare Open File Option and a Windows Remote Agent.
    * I'm running the storage driver LSIMPTNW.HAM version 5.02, 5 Dec 2007, which is default with SP8. BackupExec 9.2 device driver becdm.cdm version 7.50, 7 Feb 2006.
    * The NetWare server sees the tape drive as an "Unbound Device Object" until becdm.cdm is loaded at which point its recognsied as "HP Ultrium 2-SCSI T65D"
    * The tape drive is listed on the BackupExec HCL - "StorageWorks Ultrium 448 LTO2" except mine is SAS not SCSI. What have I tried so far?
    * We have a rental tape drive identical to our own as the original one was over-heating, so I have tried two physical tape drives. Both using the same server, HBA and SAS tape drive cable.
    * I have used tcpcon.nlm to check that port 10,000 is unused.
    * I have tried the parameter -!X on the line of bestart.ncf that loads BackupExec to stop it checking if port 10,000 is free.
    * I have added a set statement to c:\nwserver\startup.ncf "set auto load of cdm modules = off" so it will not try to load unwanted CDM's.
    * I have renamed all copies of nwtape.cdm to nwtape.cdx on the C: so they can not be auto loaded.
    * There are no load statements in the startup.ncf for other tape drive device drivers. Just scsihd.cdm and idecd.cdm.
    * There are no tape libraries or robots involved. Its just a basic tape drive.
    * The physical and virtual server have been rebooted numerous times to ensure its not a memory issue etc...
    * I've loaded the server with no other significant modules loaded. Just the basics like eDirectory etc... and the same issue still occurs.
    * In addition to the NW65 SP8 default version of lsimptnw.ham I have tried version 5.03.01, 23 Jan 2008, from the LSI website.
    * I have deleted the original BackupExec folder from the server (sys:\bkupexec) and re-installed BackupExec numerous times.
    * I have powered off the tape drive a number of times
    * I have changed the tape drives virtual SCSI ID, presented by VMware to the NetWare guest, to be a higher number on the same virtual HBA as the virtual disk. I have also tried allocating the tape drive a virtual SCSI ID on a dedicated virtual HBA, SCSI 1:0.
    * I have deleted the SMDR config file (sys:\etc\sms\smdr.cfg) and re-created it using the command "load smdr.nlm new"
    * I have deleted the NetWare servers backup queue and the SMS SMDR Group from eDirectory and re-created the queue using the command "load qman.nlm new". Note: as its NW65SP8 the SMS RPC object does not exist and the SMS SMDR group is not re-created.
    * I have deleted the two BackupExec objects from eDirectory and re-created them by loading BackupExec using "bestart.ncf".
    * I have checked the health of eDirectory.
    * I have tried the LSI SAS and LSI Parallel virtual HBA's in the VMware guest machine.
    * I have tried adding the parameter qtags=off to the load command for lsimptnw.ham in startup.ncf.
    * I have tried the parameter -b on the line of bestart.ncf that loads BackupExec
    * I have tried loading ipxspx.nlm to stop any public symbol error messages when loading BackupExec
    * I have also tried BackupExec version 9.1 build 0306.12 and 9.1.1158.10 build 289707
    * I have built a second NetWare 6.5 SP8 server (SP8 overlay DVD, MD5 verified ISO media) using the Backup server profile during the GUI install stage. I have loaded afreecon.nlm, installed VMware tools (vmwtool.nlm) and BackupExec for NetWare 9.2.1401.5 build 287839. The same issue occurs

Well the problem is now resolved. It was either faulty tapes (about 12 of) or two tape drives with faulty heads. We had the heads replaced in one of the drives and tested it with a new tape, it works perfectly again.

  • CCP related: A timeout occured waiting for a response from the ECU

    Hello All,
I had just started using ECU Calibration tool kit software. Iam using USB 8473 for my application. When I tried to run the VI after loading the *.A2L file, I see an error message saying "A timeout occured waiting for a response from the ECU ". Does anyone know how to communicate with the ECU through CCP.
Iam pretty sure that Iam using the right cable. I also checked the address of the parameters using Get property.vi what iam trying to read, wether they are matching with the address in the *.A2L file or not. They are matching. However I was able to communicate with my ECU when I use the same device to read the data over J1939 data link, based on arbitration ID's, with the Vi's from CAN Frame to Channel Conversion Library.
Can any pls help me out how to communicate with my ECU using CAN Calibration Toolkit software.
    -Lucky.

    Hello,
I am sending you an attachment of the manual for the ECU Calibration tool kit . Please go through the manual it will clarify your doubt. Moreover , check for can vi's in the example finder in labVIEW. Those will help ....
I am sending you a link which gives you some insight about the installation of  CCP command set and the use of the toolkit with the USB CAN hardware.

  • Process Chains Always Hangs at the second step waiting for an event

    Gents;
all BI process chains created in Production system are always hanging in the second step waiting for an event RSPROCESS with a certain parameter. This issue is happening for all process chains in Production system and it is not happening for the same in other systems in the landscape (development, Copy of porudction, quality and so on). I tried to trigger the event manually using SM62 but the job is always stick to status " released". the same thing was replicated in other systems and the job status has changed and the process was completed.
Any idea what might cause this issue??
    Thanks.

    Hi,
You said that this thing is happening only in production system.Try doing the following checks :
1.Check SM21to see if there are any red entries. It can be possible that there is some data base RFC connection failure. While checking SM21, make sure you give proper selection condition. If there are any red entries, you may take the help of basis guys to understand the type of failure.May be file system has got some problems.
2.Check St22 and try to analyse if any short dumps.
3.Try to check Connection with the source system ( Goto RSA1->source system tab->right click on the source system and select check option to find if any errors in the connection.
4.If possible, try to load manually in some other info provider.
    Thanks,
    Tarun Brijwani.

  • Machine freeze, timeout waiting for nf to load

my imac27 was randomly freezing requiring reboot, other times kernel panicking.
apple changed the logicboard after doing some diagnostics.
for a while it was fine -- then began freezing again.
console logs seem to show the following repeated kernel error
Timeout while waiting for nf to load: > AR_PHY_AGC_CONTROL=0x40d22
this is logged multiple times (2 dozen) before the system eventually freezes.
searching on this error -- seems to point to a network problem. either base station/WAP or wireless NIC in the imac, but i can't be sure and the details are still murky.
    can anyone shed light here?

I have exactly the same problem.
Apple changed the bluetooth module, but the problem is still hier.
    Someone has got a solution?

  • Graphics while waiting for page load

    Hi all,
can I show a graphics while the user waits for page load. I want to show the same circular wait icon that is shown inside the EP.
    Thanks,
    Satyajit.

    hi
hmm but why would you want to cause more delay in displaying the graphics :).
Anyway you can try using the gif that sap uses. Dont know the name though.
See if a progress bar could help you in your problem. But you cannot set a image to it.
This is the closest you could do.
Create a empty view2 in window2. Add a image to the view2 and also a timedtrigger and set the size of the window2 to the image size.
Set the timedtrigger delay to say some 10 secs or whatever and after that close the window2.
    That should simulate that effect

  • Adobe Pro XI install: Timeout waiting for window to load

Installed fine on my work computer yesterday (subscription).  Trying to download and install at home from the website and getting "Timeout waiting for window to load".  I've tried IE, Chrome and Firefox.  I do have a Pro 8 installed here, but don't want to chuck it until I know XI is going to install - not sure I know where that disk is any longer.

    Hi Daniel,
Seems to be a network issue here.
Please try downloading the file ( Download Acrobat products | 9, 8 ) from any other network, (may be your work computer network) and save the setup file to a flash drive.
Connect the flash drive to the home computer and try installing.

    Howdy,
I'm having a bit of trouble with my computer refusing to mount disks, images, etc. This seems to start after trying to mount an external hard drive (passport from western digital). After plugging in the passport, I can no longer mount external hard drives, disk images, etc. After I reboot, I can mount other exteranl drives and images just fine. This behavior was replicated after I rebooted and tried to mount the passport again. Does any one have any idea what may be causing this?

    PowerBook Mac OS X (10.4.9)

Today I did a bit more troubleshooting. From the Terminal, the command-line tools for working with DMG files gave me the same error. So, I did a Safe Boot of my Mac, holding the SHIFT key from the tone at restart until the gray loading screen appeared. It took quite a while to get to the login screen, and towards the end of the wait, the fans on my G5 were running at full-speed. I was able to open disk images, so I repaired permissions and then reinstalled the latest security update. Rebooted back into my normal desktop and everything is working now. I am not sure what the problem was. It's fixed now. Hope this helps.

  • Flash player plays videos slow and jumpy.  Have to put on pause and wait for it to load.

Since the new Flash Player release, videos on Youtube, CNN, FOX will start to load then do a buffering, then play a little more, stop again.
When I hit on pause and let it load fully, it is the only way I can watch the video.
Unless it is a video I really want to watch, the effort takes to long.
It started with the new release of Flash Play on both my desktop with windows XP and new laptop with Windows 7.
I have spent days reviewing this forum and tried all your suggestions.
Are there any new suggestions besides all those that have already been given or do we have to just wait for a new release of Flash Player
to take care of all these bugs that I have been reading that others also have?

    Hi eidnolg,
I have great news on my end for this problem.
Researching another solution all started with the email that I received from adninjastrator ( [email protected])
about it might be something with my internet server and HiDef videos.
I phoned Qwest help line and they told me my speeds coming in for okay.
Then I sent a email to a Qwest online tech and explained how it all started about the time of  the flash player update on both of my computers.
I told them about all my trouble shooting on your forum.
Within 2 hours of my email, I got a reply back from the Qwest tech.
Quote from Qwest internet provider, email response:
I understand you are having concerns about your speed.
I have spoken to an engineer and we have made some changes.
    You should see immediate results.
I went to Youtube, CNN and FOX and they all worked.  Hooray!!!!!!!!!!!!
I don't know what programming problem that they fixed, but it worked.
Thanks to adninjastrator for getting me started on checking with my internet server provider.
Thank you eidnolg for all your suggestions for solving this issue.
It was also a learning process for me, doing research on checking for computer problems.

  • Waiting for "Adjustments" To Load

Am I the only one who notices that the first time you attempt to load the Adjustment panel the beach ball raises its head and you have to wait.
I am running A3, 3.03 to be exact, on a very fast iMac, i7 with 8GB of memory. Obviously I got good horsepower. What is happening in the background that makes me wait? Why can't those files or frameworks load initially when Aperture loads?
Also, how come no splash screen when A3 loads?

    Hi Michael
I encountered this issue when I installed two presets from MacCreate, the Neutral and Graduated Density Adjustment preset and the Noise Adjustment preset. The first time I attempt to use the Adjustment panel after launching Aperture there is a lag of 3 to 5 seconds and an occasional glimpse of the beach ball.
As soon as I delete these presets the problem goes away. Re-installing one or both presets and the problem comes back. I have been in contact with the folk at MacCreate and while they have been very understanding and concerned they have not been able to reproduce the problem.
So if you have installed any third party presets you may want to try deleting them one by one to see whether that fixes the problem for you.
I am using an Early 2008 Mac Pro 3.2 with 16 GB RAM so, like you, horsepower should not be an issue.

  • Clicked "synchronize now" instead of wait for synck to load my bookmarks- are they gone?

Hi, I have a problem here.
Reinstalled system, also installed fresh FF, i logged in into sync and nothing happened. I thought, that "synchronize now" is for loading my content from sync. Instead, I loaded black, fresh FF settings & bookmarks into my sync. Does it mean, that my previous bookmarks saved on the server are gone forever?
I was collecting my bookmarks for something like 7 years. I'm depressed :C I need them to work. What can I do?
I was always backing up my bookmarks in the file, but not this time. And no, I don't have any previous versions on disc anymore. Please help.

    Hi Lunarinstincts,
I am sorry however without a back up there are no work arounds that I can suggest to recover this data. Due to the merging model of Firefox Sync it sounds like the storage was overwritten with the same computer name.

  • NiDCPower Wait For Event

    Hello,
I am using the PXIe-4139 SMU to source a current sequence that starts when a trigger is received and takes about 40 seconds to complete.
After the niDCPower Initiate VI I have inserted the niDCPower Wait For Event VI with a timeout set to 300 seconds to allow for enough time to receive the trigger and complete the sequence. This VI waits for the Sequence Engine Done Event.
Now this works fine, however, when the user wishes to stop the programm for whatever reasons, they have to wait the full 300 seconds until the Wait For Event VI produces a timeout error and stops the programm. This is rather inconvenient. How can I change the programm so that the user can stop it even when the Wait For Event VI hasn't reached its timeout?
    I tried this:
But this doesn't work. For some reason, I get a timeout error with code -200474 but the boolean operator returns FALSE.
    Any other ideas?

If there an output on the wait for event VI that flags a timeout? If so, set the timeout short (like 100 msec) and wait for 3000 timeouts before continuing on.
Oh, and use an event structure. Timeout event (timeout=0) checks the wait for event, value change event for button breaks out of loop.

  • Wait for an agent with best skill and loop after that.

I want to solve the following situation:
I have three skills (A, B, C) with different skill levels for each agent. C is the "everything else topic" . The caller selects the toppic which is equivalent to the skills. Of course I want the call to be forwarded to the best skilled agent.
Let's assume the calles selects topic A and all Agents with Skilllevel > 5 for  A are currently talking. I want to hold the caller for 30 seconds to wait for one of these Agents. After 30 seconds I would like to forward the call to the agent with the highest skill level A.
And of course I want to avoid the caller to wait the 30 seconds if no Agent with skilllevel > 5 is on duty.
Currently I have one CSQ for each topic and I expect a skillevel > 5 for the agents serving this CSQ.
At first I put the call in the CSQ for A and play a prompt with 30 seconds MOH, if no agent becomes available I put the call in the CSQ for C and loop the caller there. But now the best agent for C get's the call.
I appreciate any hints on that.
    Christian

Don't queue in C unless there are at minimum X ready agents.  You can define X as 1 to start, then play with the number to see how it affects wait times and dequeues.
select resource (csq_a)     connected          end     queued          label loop          ready_in_c = get reporting stats(csq_c, ready resources)          if (ready_in_c >= 1)               true                    /* at least one person idle and ready in C                    select resource(csq_c)                         connected                              end                         queued                              /* oops! we just missed them. */                              /* if ready_in_c was > 1, this dequeue step will not execute */                              /* instead, the script jumps to the select resource step for csq_c */                              /* and tries the next agent automatically.  only when there are no */                              /* idle and ready agents do we dequeue the caller, so that an agent */                              /* servicing csq_a can take the call */                              dequeue(csq_c)               false                    /* no one available in C */               play prompt(you are important to us)               call hold               delay 30               call unhold               goto loop
