Timeouts when file transfer

Hi,
I have used Dreamweaver CS3 without any problems for 2 years and now suddenly the file transfers are very slow and will never end. I use Passive FTP as recommended by my web hotel. When I check in the log there are a lot of timeouts, then it connects again and transfer a file, then timeout again etc. The files seem to been transferred what I can see, but images I have to transfer with another program. I also always have to cancel the acutal transfer to make another one. I have talked to my web hotel and they have tested without any problems. When I transfer with FileZilla there is no problems at all.
I have deleted the personal config folder in Dreamweaver as suggested - without any luck to solve this problem.
Log ex.
www\admin\escf.js - transfer ok
Timeout during the action. Disconnects...
Connected to XX.
www\admin\page.jpg - transfer ok
Timeout during the action. Disconnects...
Connected to XX.
Any ideas? Many thanks!!

I actually posted the TFTP solution in a second thread that I made (stupid me, forgot about this one): https://supportforums.cisco.com/thread/2203048
Here the quick way to enable TFTP:
So I logged in as root, edited the config file
vi /etc/sysconfig/iptables-config
And changed
IPTABLES_MODULES=""
to
IPTABLES_MODULES="ip_conntrack_tftp"
After saving it with :wq I restarted iptables and also restarted ncs (this is needed as some iptables rules are loaded when ncs starts and are lost when iptables is restarted!).

  • Error 50 when file transfer

    I AM USING AN AIRPORT EXTRME WITH TWO EXTERNAL HARD DRIVES (USB) ON THE AIRPORT EXTRME ONE FOR DATA ONE FOR MUSIC AND TIME MACHINE BACKUP

    Hi jakobsfilm,
    My problem was propably not anything similar, but I want to share this in case it is useful to somebody.
    My cause for error -50 was a broken Quicktime reference movie. One segment was "faulty" and export stopped there (in Compressor). I had an image sequence I modified and it messed the reference movie. Only needed to remake the reference movie and problem went away.
    I have read somewhere this error -50 could relate to some sort of read problem - which was quite good explanation in this case.
    Cheers

  • When will file transfer be used to send a message?

    Hi,
    My understanding is that a message is only sent via file transfer if the size of the message is greater than 75% of the IPC queue capacity; file transfer will never be used in response to a blocking situation that arises due to the number of messages exhausting the queue capacity (this will result in an immediate failure if the TPNOBLOCK flag is used, or else a failure response when the timeout is reached).
    We have the following message in the ULOG:
    "TMQUEUE.4288.3081606848.0: LIBTUX_CAT:1285: WARN: tpreturn message send blocked, will try file transfer"
    Would I be correct in assuming this is because of the size of the message, or is this something specific to TMQUEUE operations? If my understanding of how transfer by disk can occur is wrong, please set me straight!
    Thanks,
    Malcolm.

    Malcolm,
    Tuxedo will use file transfer if
    a) The size of the message is greater than 75% of the total capacity of the queue.
    b) The original msgsnd() fails with EINVAL. (Some operating systems have a MSGMAX kernel configuration parameter limiting the size of an individual message which can be set to less than the total capacity of the queue. If an application attempts to send a message greater than this size it will fail with EINVAL.)
    c) The original non-blocking msgsnd() fails with EAGAIN and the message is being sent by tpreturn(). (This is the case where LIBTUX_CAT:1285 is logged.)
    d) The original non-blocking msgsnd() fails with EAGAIN, the TPNOBLOCK option is not set, the original message is over 500 bytes, the TMNOTHREADS environment variable is not set to Y, and the message is not being sent by certain system processes that are always single threaded.
    For domain gateways only, the file transfer in case (c) can be avoided if GW_FILETRANSFER=OFF is set.

    Ed

  • File transfer speed when on battery power

    Hey there - I've noticed that my file transfer speed is ridiculously slow when i'm not plugged in to a power source. Even when my battery is fully charged it's super slow. This happens not only when I'm uploading files from a memory card to my computer but when I'm attaching files to an email, or even sending an email.  I've asked other mac users and they say this is not the norm for their machines....any ideas?
    thanks!

    additionally, you can disable power menagement for your wireless card completely through iwconfig's power option. I suggest you read the manpage for iwconfig, I have quotes the 2 related options for you.
    txpower
    For cards supporting multiple transmit powers, sets the transmit power in dBm. If W is the power in Watt, the power in dBm is P = 30 + 10.log(W). If the value is postfixed by mW, it will be automatically converted to dBm.
    In addition, on and off enable and disable the radio, and auto and fixed enable and disable power control (if those features are available).
    Examples :
    iwconfig eth0 txpower 15
    iwconfig eth0 txpower 30mW
    iwconfig eth0 txpower auto
    iwconfig eth0 txpower off
    power
    Used to manipulate power management scheme parameters and mode.
    To set the period between wake ups, enter period 'value'. To set the timeout before going back to sleep, enter timeout 'value'. You can also add the min and max modifiers. By default, those values are in seconds, append the suffix m or u to specify values in milliseconds or microseconds. Sometimes, those values are without units (number of beacon periods, dwell or similar).
    off and on disable and reenable power management. Finally, you may set the power management mode to all (receive all packets), unicast (receive unicast packets only, discard multicast and broadcast) and multicast (receive multicast and broadcast only, discard unicast packets).
    Examples :
    iwconfig eth0 power period 2
    iwconfig eth0 power 500m unicast
    iwconfig eth0 power timeout 300u all
    iwconfig eth0 power off
    iwconfig eth0 power min period 2 power max period 4
    website with the current manpage:
    http://linux.die.net/man/8/iwconfig
    or simply:
    $ man iwconfig

    My suggestion to use the smart playlist was more along the lines of making one list with rules to show everything in your library as long as it was kind "mpeg" (= mp3).
    Smart playlists cannot be edited manually, only by changing the rules.  You can use them as the basis for another smart playlist though.
    There is added overhead to using smart playlists, so don't go overboard.

    My videos from my iphone are horrible when I transfer them to my PC. How can I improve the video on my PC? Can I just convert the files to WMV? When the video plays the speed is off, it's half slow-motion and staggers into normal play. The clips are slightly cut as well, the clips do not roll continuously.  I'm taling about videos that are no more than 2 minutes long.  I'm frustrated and I could really use some advice-my kids basketball games is what I'm recording and I'm trying to send them to my family (they are not very tech savvy). Thanks

    Not it's only function but one for which it was most admirably suited, which is why I really hope someone can find a work around. I am hoping my post to the Apple feedback may prompt a useful response from Apple and I live in hope that my post here will elicit a useful response from another user. I did not miss the the text at the top of the feedback form but you presumably missed my initial text, 'someone here can explain' or my subsequent 'work around from another user'
    Just in case anyone reading this has a large collection of music videos, video podcasts or iTunes U then DO NOT upgrade your iPad to iOS 5. If you are considering purchasing the iPad as a useful mobile device to experience these media organised in your iTunes please don't as you will be wasting your money. (unless someone on this forum knows of a way to undo the mess created by those infallible folks at Apple)
    Yes I know it does other things but the purpose I bought it for doesn't work anymore

    1. Music files and error message...are these music files from iTunes? If so, convert them to .wav in iTunes to convert them to wav version, and then import the .wav version into Premiere Elements 13 project using Premiere Elements 13 Expert workspace's Add Media/Files and Folders/Project Assets from where you drag the wav version to the Soundtrack.
    The following are the instructions for the iTunes converting

    If any problems with the instructions, please let me know, and I will go through them with you.
    2. How you set up the project and the export settings that you select greatly influence your end product result.
    a. What are the properties of the source media?
    b. What project preset did you (manually) or the project (automatically) set to match the properties of the source media.
    (If you do not know, please tell us what you see for the readings of Editing Mode, Timebase, Frame Size, Pixel Aspect Ratio - even
    if the fields look grayed out.)
    c. For your export...Publish+Share/Computer/and then what? And what preset? Did you use the default settings of the preset or did you
    customize the export settings of the preset under the preset's Advanced Button/Video Tab and Audio Tab?
    Let us start here and then decide what next.

    I take a .NEF file and a .JPG file with every click. When I transfer the files using a flash drive to another computer I never get all of the files to transfer. I get some of the .NEF and some of the .JPGs but not all. How come?

    If you're exporting a project then you'll only get the images in that project. Also if any of the masters are referenced then you won't get those masters unless you check Consolidate masters into exported library
    It might be best if you started from the beginning and explained what it is your are trying to do and how you're going about doing it. Also a description of you're hardware/software setup would be helpful.

    can i pick up where it left off? if not why is it that i have to start over?
    also it would be nice if the imac warned me of the file transfer when i try to put the computer to sleep. i put it to sleep out of habit right in the middle of a 3 hour transfer.

  • When upgrading to OSX Yosemite do all my programs and files transfer over such as Office for mac, saved documents from word,excel,pics,pdf files,etc.etc...

    Will all my files transfer over (or stay) automatically right after upgrading to Yosemite or do I have to backup every single desired program or document? Question is do I HAVE to please if you can answer if its mandatory or not. Not looking for recommendations that I SHOULD back up or anything like that just want to know if it is mandatory to perform a backup to be able to keep or transfer all my current programs and apps and documents currently on my MB Pro Retina.

    Yes, upgrading to Yosemite will not touch your 3rd party apps or files in the Home folder.
    Although not mandatory you should have a a backup of your hard drive regardless if you upgrade to Yosemite or not.  To not have a backup is just playing  Russian roulette as there are only two types of hard drives;  those that have failed and those that will.

  • Alert if there is no file transfer

    Dear All,
    Client needs to get a alert if there is no file transfer for a day(Interface will execute 2hrs per day).whether we can achieve this in PI 7.0 ?
    Regards,
    Manikandan

    The standard functionality of the alert mechanism does not provide for this. You can however, try using a pre-processing script that will throw an exception if no file is found at the specified time. Use Availability Time planing mechanism to active your sender adapter at the desired point of time.
    You can also refer the following links for more help on this.
    Exception Throwing in case of "No File Found"
    trigger email if no file found
    The Other alternate
    Create a ccBPM process. When the scenario starts, have the Sender channel as one of the steps and put a timeout for the correlation. Since no messages will come, correlation won't be met and it can then trigger an alert by going to the exception branch.

  • File transfer using non-blocking sockets - data mysteriously  vanish

    Hello,
    I need to pass some big amount of data using sockets. I my appliaction I have noticed that sometimes I didn't get all bytes. To check it out I wrote simple client + server to figure out what is happening. So:
    - I have a sender and receiver application
    - I'm trying to transfer 5MB text file.
    - On receiver side, output file is never larget than 3MB
    - If I put some timeout on sender side (1ms timeout between write operations) everything works fine.
    Could someone tell me what I do wrong? Why data disappears and when? The same file transfered using old sockets goes always fine...
    Thanks in advance!

                                  return;
              catch(Exception e) {
                   e.printStackTrace();
    }

    There are at least two problems here.
    A. In the receiver you should test for -1 from the read() immediately, rather than continue with the loop and try to write -1 bytes to the file.
    B. In the sender you are ignoring the return value of client.write(), which can be anything from 0 to the buffer length. If you get 0 you should wait for another OP_WRITE to trigger; if you get a 'short write' you need to retry it until you've got nothing left to write from the current buffer, before you read any more data. This is where the data is vanishing.

  • BBL and file transfer

    Hi all,
    We are getting error in ULOG during heavy load.
    210420.barcelona!BBL.2329.3086304960.0: LIBTUX_CAT:1285: WARN: tpreturn message send blocked, will try file transfer
    210620.barcelona!BBL.2329.3086304960.0: LIBTUX_CAT:1286: ERROR: tpreturn could not send reply TPETIME - timeout occured
    How and which process can call BBL? Our application do tpcall to .TMIB, but not in that time when we get this error.
    Whitch IPC-queue in this case do not have enough space: BBL's queue or caller's process queue?
    We have sufficiently large kernel prametrs values (MSGMAX=32000, MSGMNB=628000) and our Linux has no limits to maximum
    number messages in the system at any time.
    Thanks.

    Hi,
    Are you absolutely certain your application is not performing tpcall(".TMIB"...) during this time? In general the only things that call the BBL are tools like tmadmin and in some cases other Tuxedo servers such as the WSL/WSH.
    The error message indicates that the caller's IPC queue is nearly full (75% of max) and so Tuxedo switches to file transfer mode in that case to prevent messages from being lost. This is in general a very bad situation as file transfers are far more costly than pure IPC requests.
    You should be able to subscribe to that event and have a shell script execute that uses ipcs to list the status of the IPC queues. That should help you identify which BBL client is causing the problem.
