To draw a pic

How can I draw something on a component by using MouseMotionListener?
What paint method of my component has to do?
Has it to redraw all the drawing operations that I have done?
That is, must I save these operations for the paint method?
Is somebody have an example ?

Just draw to an offscreen image and use drawImage() in the paint() method. I didn't find a good example of this with a quick search, but you should be able to.

First really like the new version of skype
with two WP that had messenger installed the drawing and pics potions were greyed out
After a lot of pain and agravation it was messenger that needed to be uninstalled on both phones.
Guys you need to just let people add a alias ie skype name for a MS accounts as finding people is a pain. Or have a option to send a invite to a email address which links uniquely to you account.
searching for people and getting 50 hits for their name and with incomplete profiles make it impossible to identify the real person......
You need to make finding and connecting with people easier. nothing is obvious make it so
end rant but you need to take this seriously.

It was listed as messenger in apps list with Lightening bolt icon
I removed it from mine 1520 and and brothers 920 and now it works.
once messenger disappears in user linked accounts then they un-grey.

How to Manage Photo Stream & Apple TV

Hi! I have apple TV, and I love that I can use pics from Photo stream as a screen saver. I just can't figure out how to make Apple TV draw the pics from the photo stream folder on my computer instead of the photo stream folder on my iphone. Any help is appreciated!

Any idea to get Aperture accepting the photo stream coming from 2 Apple IDs?
IOS 7 supports writing of persons with different AppleIDs to the same shared photo stream.
And I expect that iPhoto and Aperture will soon support this too.

Easy album to CD?

Hi Folks,
Looking at this backwards.... what I need is an easy way to end up with a CD containing just jpegs that my mother in law can play on her Photo cd compatable DVD player.
The reason that I am not finding this easy at the moment is that I wish to have the CD match an album in iPhoto. That album will usually contain photos that are held on many different Roll numbers in the iPhoto library and come from at least 2 different cameras with different file pefixes.
As I will be doing a lot of these CDs as our little girl grows up, I need to find a way to quickly move all of the photos from a given iPhoto Album, in album order (not nesssicerily file name order) without any folders or suplimentary files.

Te tricky part is the CD that you Mom can play in her DVD player, as Macs won't burn that format without third party software. Otherwise, a DVD is very easy, you can create a Slideshow in iDVD and burn that.
Other than that you'll need an app like Roxio's Toast (http://www.roxio.com/enu/mac.html) which will burn the pics to a CD that will play in a DVD. The good news is that Toast has iPhoto integration. You can draw your pics from iPhoto using the Media Browser which reads your iPhoto library and albums.

}1. JComponent already has method update overridden to call paint -- you shouldn't override update.
2. Don't override paint, override paintComponent instead, usually like this:

Everytime i plug in my USB for my android, i get the message that the device is drawing too much power from my computer. i just want to download my pics.

Everytime I plug in my android USB, I get a message that states the USB device is drawing too much power from my computer. The only other USB device connected to computer is my printer. Even when I disconnected the printer, I was still unable to use the android. When i use a non-android USB to say charge my phone, it will charge it, but it won't recognize any of my android data. What gives?

I'm going to guess that you are plugging into either the USB port on your keyboard or an unpowered hub. USB has two both low power and high power port specifications that determine how much electricity the port can supply to a device. The ports on back of your iMac are high power, the keyboard ports are low power. If you have an unpowered hub it has to 'share' power with all the devices you plug into so it too would have low power ports.

How can you tell if a pic hasnt been tagged by iPhoto, and do you then do you then have to draw "missing box" around them
What I mean is tagged a few faces, imported some more pics, checked a few and they dont show as named faces, but are faces that are in my Faces source list (ie identified and named)
So do I then have to draw a box around known faces to me, and name them again (I think iPhoto will pop up as Im typing the names I already have)
It just means that even when i import and it doesnt name, I may have lots of pics that are of faces but not tagged and so not in my faces source list

Is it possible to draw on a picture after loading and before displaying it?

Hi to all :)
I intend to write a small applet(connected with a server using RMI, but that's not important :) ) that represents the 'tic-tac-toe' game.
I've planned to create 3 pictures - blank, containing a circle and containing a cross.
Then I think to used 9 JButton-s and set the blank pic as an Icon for the JButton. An action event listener will change the picture to circle ot cross and so on...
I would like to draw a line over the 3 pictures for the winner at the end of the game.
Is it possible to load a circle or cross picture, then draw a horizontal/vertical/diagonal line on it at runtime and after that set it as an Icon for the Jbutton ?

To my knowledge, you can't overlay icons on a JButton without subclassing it and overriding paintComponent. In that case, II suppose you could try painting over all your buttons with something like:parentContainer = new JPanel() {

Reader X does not display drawing in PDF generated with LaTeX

I have a quite large PDF generated by pdfTeX, Version 3.1415926-1.40.11 which contains also XY-pic drawings rendered with Xy-pic version 3.8.2, PDF driver v.1.4.
One drawing does not display correctly in Adobe Reader X. Neither on Windows, neither on Mac. It does display correctly with following programs:
Preview on Mac OS X 10.5 and 10.6
Adobe Reader 9.x
Skim (skim-app.sf.net).
When I open this document with Adobe Reader X I get following error message when I hit page 58:
"An error exists on this page. Acrobat may not display the page correctly. Please contact the person who created the PDF document to correct the problem".
Where does one report rendering problems?

Is there a plug in for a CS6 or CC that "live draws on a white board"

I am doing a video for a non profit, so there is no money. I love the concept of the artist drawing pics on a dry erase board in fast motion. Is there a plug in for CC that shows a hand holding a pen and can draw pics. I want to have the hand drawing pics timed with a VO.

I do similar for Titles in Videos, from time to time.
In Ps, I create the "drawn" Title, then use a Layer Mask to first hide ALL of the Text. I then slowly erase/paint-out parts of that Layer Mask, to reveal parts of the letters, as they might be drawn. I do a Layer Comp for each change in my Layer Mask. When complete, I will have many, many Layer Comps, and I number them sequentiall, say 00001, through 09999.
At that point, I Import those Layer Comp's (as PSD's), into Adobe Premiere Pro, to animate them, and later output as an AV file, or perhaps DVD-Video. If you have CS3-Extended, through CS5.5-Extended, or Ps CS6, or Ps CC, you can do the animation on a Video Timeline.

Drawing smooth circles in labview

I am using the 'Draw Circle by Radius' VI to draw a pie chart inside a picture box. Its all fine, except that the circle edges are not exactly smooth (see the attached pic).
I tried looking for it on the net, but couldn't find anything of much use.
Any ideas on how to make the edges nice and smooth?

The circle is not smooth as no anti-aliasing is done with the picture drawing VIs. To get it to appear smooth you would need to implement an anti-aliasing algorithm in the picture control. This is not something I have ever seen done. You could download MSChart from Microsoft, it is just a free .NET component and code that you can download. Thoric has done a great example here https://decibel.ni.com/content/docs/DOC-9946 that you could start with to draw the pie chart for you.

Drawing an arrow on a photo

Is it possible to draw an arrow on a photo using iPhoto? I have a picture I want to e-mail to someone, and to draw their attention to one detail. The arrow doesn't have to look great -- it could be the equivalent of taking a Sharpie to a printed-out photo.

No, it's not possible using iPhoto. You can use other editors to do this such as Photoshop Elements or Seashore. There's a new editor called ACORN. It has a trial period so you could see if it meets your needs in the long term by using it in the short term. It will allow you to draw on the pic.
You can set Acorn or Photoshop or any image editor as an external editor in iPhoto. (Preferences -> General -> Edit Photo: Choose from the Drop Down Menu.) This way, when you double click a pic to edit in iPhoto it will open automatically in the editor, and when you save it it's sent back to iPhoto automatically.
