To extract .BIN files

We have downloaded the the following file from SAP Market place.
Can you provide me how to extract these files.
Linux x86-64 (64-bit)
/Oracle/Oracle 10.2.0.4/Database RDBMS/Linux x86-64 (64-bit)/
Patchset_10204_Linux-x86-64aa.bin
Patchset_10204_Linux-x86-64ab.bin
Patchset_10204_Linux-x86-64ac.bin

Hi Vijay,
Be sure to read the documentation on how to apply a patch set to Oracle. Otherwise you can get in <i>really</i> big trouble. If you'd read the documentation, you already should have known how to handle the .BIN-files.
Anyway: the patch files are split in separate packages, which must become a valid zip-file again. To do this, proceed as follows:
1. Issue the following command to create the zip-file: "cat Patchset_10204_Linux-x86-64aa.bin Patchset_10204_Linux-x86-64ab.bin Patchset_10204_Linux-x86-64ac.bin > patchset.zip".
2. Issue the following command to extract the zip-file: "unzip patchset.zip". This will result in a directory called "Disk1".
3. Move or copy the directoy "Disk1" to the directory /oracle/stage. From within the directory /oracle/stage/Disk1, start the patching with the command "./runInstaller" as user ora<sid>.

Henk.

  • How to extract .bin file on mac?

    Dear Team,
How to extract .bin file on mac os ? please help me
    regards,
    kalai

Although the link posted by the other responder shows .bin files to be a copy of RAW CD or DVD data in my experience most .bin files are some type of configuration file mainly used with internet routers and other pieces of PC/Networking equipment.
Just where did this .bin file come from and what is it associated with that you are trying to open on your Mac?
If it is a router configuration file that you downloaded you don't open it on the Mac. You log into your router and go to the update firmware section and browse to that file stored on your Mac hard drive and let the router handle opening and updated the routers firmware.

  • Problems extracting .bin file from .zip file

    Hi Arch Forums,
I face a very strange problem.
The firmware of my MP3 player is packaged as a zip file. This zip file contains some files with the 'bin' extension.
I extract this zip file using the unzip tool and use the resulting bin files to upgrade my MP3 player (just plain copy via USB, no fancy flash-ware). This results in boot problems and video problems on my Mp3 player.
However if I use 7-zip on Windows XP to extract and upgrade, my MP3 player works properly!
    Now what do I suspect?
    1. .bin files on different partition types? NTFS Vs Ext3.
    2. the unzip tool
    3. USB driver transmission error for bin files?
Thank you for throwing light on this.

I would start by doing an md5sum on the extracted bin files on both OSes.  I know there are versions for Windows on the net.
This will determine if the files are the same in both places.
You could also through it on a thumb drive under windows, mount it under Linux and then do the MD5 on the file on the thumbdrive.
My money is on door number 3.  How, exactly, do you send the file over USB?

  • Problems extracting bin files

Because of problems with the activation server that was disabled, I've had to download photoshop CS2 and reinstall it on my new laptop.
I've had my old laptop for almost four years, and had no problems with it, so I guess this activation server problem has occurred since then.
I followed all of the instructions and downloaded Adobe Photoshop CS2. But they are all BIN files. I haven't a clue how to extract these. I have searched the net, but all of the
software available has to be paid for. I tried two free trials, one didn't even work on the BIN file, and the other wouldn't even let me try and extract with the "trial". I can't find any FREE
software that does what I need.
This really bugs me. I already bought the Photoshop product and it is not my fault that they had a problem with their activation server. I can either buy a
software to extract it, or buy a Photoshop update. I don't think I should have to do either. This is Adobe, an expensive, well known brand. I didn't expect to have this problem. I already
    BOUGHT it.
For those who have already had to download a product to fix a problem, how did you deal with this? Were you're files BIN too?
Please, recommend a software that is FREE and actually does what it says it will. I looked all over and couldn't find anything. I tried IZARC, but my computer says it could harm my computer!
I've already been through a lot of crap with the other downloads and hope to hear from someone who has actual experience and knows what software is safe.
I deeply appreciate any advice, as I am at a loss. Thanks.

This is the downloaded file....And the next is when I tried to extract it but it stopped at 99%. See the many 0 KB files?

  • How to open .bin files on Mac?

Hey, I was wondering, how do we view .bin files on Mac computers? The .bin files that I have are generally movies, so I want to extract them sumhow to allow me to watch the file. In Windows, I would usually use a program called Alcohol 120% to mount the image on the harddrive, and then open a media player and watch it thru there...Im not sure if anyone, knows what Im talk about.. but thanks

There's no such thing as .bin video format.
".bin" is normally an extension used by a CD image file. CD image itself is a "snapshot" of a CD disc that can contain virtually anything -- a software, a VCD movie, an SVCD movie, a game, X rated images, etc.
For .bin files, you should always try open the .bin file first -- think it as a helluva big "zip file" that fits usually perfectly to a single CDR disc.
For opening such image, you have two options -- you can burn it to a CDR and see what it has inside it after you've burned the disc.

  • OS 9 doesn't recognize .bin file

    Hello All:
I downloaded iTunes for my friend as described in this article:
    Hi -
You can download iTunes 2.0.4 from this Apple KBase article -
    http://docs.info.apple.com/article.html?artnum=120073
but my friend's Mac won't recognize the .bin file. How do I get it to recognize this file type, or is this really another problem?
    Thanks!
    Bob

    Hello Don,
The only sensible solution in this case, as you have already pointed out, would be to obtain an appropriate Mac OS 9 install CD; both for StuffIt Expander and in order to have a bootable disc at hand.
If an install CD is not yet available, and Bob would like to try other ways to get StuffIt Expander in the meantime, here are some additional comments:
There is a Stuffit archive format, .sea, which can be decompressed without using Stuffit Expander. ".sea" stands for "Self-Extracting Archive" - the archive itself contains sufficient program code that it will run and decompress itself when double-clicked. I suspect that the reason that format is not used for downloads is that it acts like a program (if you do a Get Info on one it will be reported as being an application program) - and so probably has vulnerable codes.
Yes, that is the way I see it, too. Since a PC, normally, cannot handle the resource fork of the file, the "clickability" of the .sea would get lost without a protective outer "shell" of MacBinary (.bin) or BinHex (.hqx) encoding. You would not be able to launch the built-in unpacking program of an unprotected .sea file, but it should be OK to regain the data portion by dragging the file onto a StuffIt Expander program icon (or by opening it from within StuffIt Expander). Not very useful for downloading StuffIt Expander itself, that is, if one does not have StuffIt Expander.
For older Macs, with a built in floppy drive, I usually recommend getting a ready-to-use version of StuffIt Expander for Macintosh via a PC . This is how it works: Begin by downloading the MACDISK.EXE file here onto the PC. Prepare an empty 1.44 MB PC-formatted diskette through the FORMAT A: command in DOS or the "full" formatting option under Windows. Launch the MACDISK.EXE program on the PC. Follow the instructions on screen. The result will be a Mac-formatted floppy, complete with a StuffIt Expander 4.0.1 installer. Once installed, in a suitable environment, the 4.0.1 version can be used to decode many files. If a newer StuffIt Expander version (e.g. 5.5) is needed to handle certain decompressions, a download from ftp://ftp.allume.com/pub/archive/mac/StuffIt_Expander should now not be too difficult.
With a more modern Mac, without a built-in floppy drive, the situation gets more complicated. Even with access to an external USB floppy drive, one can not assume that the 4.0.1 installer will run on the new machine (and if it does, the 4.0.1 program may not).
There are PC utilities for Mac disks (an old freeware application called HFVExplorer could once be found via a Google search) which can internally process MacBinary and/or BinHex files while placing the decoded result on a plain Mac-formatted 1.44 MB floppy. This means that one can download a .bin or .hqx StuffIt Expander program file as it is (for instance, directly from the aforementioned ftp site) onto a PC (without attempting to decode or decompress in a PC file system surrounding), and then decode it while in transit to the Mac floppy. With a USB floppy drive at the Mac end, this will improve the chances to get a properly working version of StuffIt Expander.
Some web browsers and certain email programs may be capable of directly decoding at least BinHex files. This would per se make it possible to download .hqx files from the above site, or having .hqx files sent by a friend. However, without a functioning Internet connection that would not be of any use in this very case.
Another possibility might include decoding encoded files sent by a terminal emulation application over the telephone lines, provided that a program of a corresponding type is installed at the receiving end.

  • Zip/bin files

i downloaded a zip file, but it was converted to a .bin file on completion of download. i am unable to extract the zip files from it now. Neither unarchiver nor stuffit is extracting the files.
    Help please.

Nope.  Not the case.  The file was listed as a zip.  Downloaded.  It was downloading as a zip, but as soon as download was completed it showed as a .bin file.  Could not change to a .zip and could not open it.  It was certainly not a Linux file.  Am a bit confused by it.

This means you have not been able to locate the 'jar' command on your local path:
    ( echo $PATH ).
The solution is to locate the full path to a jar command. These are likely to be in a java sdk bin directory; if you have one on your machine. You should then be able to work by adding that directory to your path or perhaps specifying the full path to the jar file.
Some other utilities are able to do this also: in checking my memory on this i seen the following thread on java coderanch: http://www.coderanch.com/t/91536/java/edit-war-file-JSP

    hi
Do revert how did u manage to put 2 files on the same name in the flash ?
coz once u try to upload 2 files on the same name it will ask you whether it can overwrite the existing file or not ?
did something got popped up like this ?
i feel the first file is without any extentions like .tar or .bin do revert whts the type of the file ?
i feel u mite have extracted the whole .tar file which automatically extracts all the html and the bin file onto the flash.
what i would suggest here is take necessary precautions before deleting the ios file coz that mite end up in deleting the functional ios too.
keep ur pc plugged on both fastethernet and console enable tftp in ur PC and let be on the same vlan as similar to your management vlan configured in ur switch if u dont have one do configure one management vlan.
before deleting take the backup of your functional ios in the tftp server.
Then delete the ios file using delete command i feel that should work though i havent tried deleting 2 files with the same name but of different file size.
    or try giving delete flash:?
that will also give the files in the flash which can be deleted, you can check out the files which you want to delete from the flash.
once you get your ios files deleted do check out the size of the file that exisits in flash.if its the exact size of the functional ios to be there flash then u can leav it as it.
or else if u still want to make double sure delete both the ios files and ofcourse i feel u mite be aware of the size of the original/functional ios.
once the deletion is over upload the correct ios onto the flash and take a downtime in off peak hour and reboot it.
do check whether all your features are funtional after the reboot.

  • Extract Audio Files

Once you have split a large file into many regions. How do you save all regions in a track as separate files?
Logic 9 manual - p609 - Using Strip Silence to Extract Audio Files from a Disc
"...Strip Silence can be used to split these into individual regions, which
can be used directly in the Arrange area. Regions can also be converted into individual
    audio files (samples),…"

Use the copy/convert function from the Audio Bin to batch resave all regions. In the Arrange you can press control+f to open the copy/convert function (that was the default key command on my version but you can assign any other KC to it). The region will be converted to a new file and the new file will be imported automatically substituting the original region even preserving the fades you have applied to it (but not saving the fades with the new file, if you want that, use the Bounce function).

Any Ideas whet to do with this?Ensure the .bin file is executable and your Linux environment has access to the net. The bin will run a network-based install.
These .bin files are usually self-extracting, and a brief description of this is at http://www.cyberciti.biz/faq/howto-unix-command-run-execute-bin-files-in-linux/ (which can be found using http://lmgtfy.com/?q=linux+.bin+files)
There are forums that deal specifically in installing WebLogic Server, and these forums are available by going to the "Forum Home" link at the top of the page and scrolling down. Curious - why are you asking DBAs who deal primarily with Oracle Database Server and not middleware?

  • Convert .bin files

how can i open .bin files and convert them to normal files?

.bin is an extension used on binary-encoded files. They can be extracted using Stuffit Expander (http://www.stuffit.com/mac/expander/index.html). Most of the apps floating around as .bin downloads are older apps (but most will run fine on your MBP).
You might also run across .hqx files (BinHex-encoded), which will also extract with Stuffit Expander.

    Hi,
thats SP1 for DS XI 3.2
I think there is no delta from XI 3.2 to XO 3.2 SP1 what means you have to do a fresh install and upgrade repo.
But you better doublecheck before but i think there is no delta.
