I am in need to convert the xml file generated dynamically through out the year map it to correct datafield it the database and insert it in to oracle data base using java and jsp, servlets.
i also need mechanism to be explained detailed and some sample codeings
of converting the data from database to xml because
and i also need to convert the data taken from sql server7.0 put it in xml file and once again read parse and insert in to oracle database.

There is o extractor to load assessment cycles; instead you can load dtaa after the assesment cycle is complte in R/3. You can schdeule the job in BW accordingly.

Want attach the XML data file with layout template in Oracle 10g

Hi All,
I need a help from you genius guys.
I am genrating reports in BI with xml the procedure which I am following is as below.
1. generating XML from the RDF
2. creating a template in .rtf format
3.after that loading the xml to the template then getting the required report.
This all is doing through the given buttons
But now my requirement is to create the gui from user can select the report and get the desire output file so how we would be able to attach the XML data file with layout template in Oracle 10g.

I am using oracle 10g reports and I get something in it like one patch I downloded and one java code is having which creates the batch file ...still I am working on it ..

If store XML data into files, then when i query any data,how can i search data using relationship as SQL?
But if store XML data into database.How can i transform the xml data to the data table?

XML is perfect for data interchange and readability. However, to make it searchable you should resolve it properly into tables, in accordance of your own choice of model.

Spry XML data set and dynamic post variables

Hi,
I am trying to create an XML data set that has dynamic post
variables.
Everytime something is pressed on the page a variable changes
and I then want to reload the XML data set using the new variable.
I know I can just pull in an XML with all possible variables
and filter client side but this would make it way too large.
Does anyone know what I may need to do.
I tried this:

Well I had it working when I stripped back everything and
just had the dss data set and a single onclick function, but now
that I put it back together it hash foobared again.

Inserting large xml data into xmltype

Hi all,
In my project I need to insert very large XML data into xmltype column.
My table:
CREATE TABLE TransDetailstblCLOB ( id number, data_xml XMLType) XmlType data_xml STORE AS CLOB;
I am using JDBC approach to insert values. It works fine for data less than 4000 bytes when using preparedStatement.setString(1, xmlData). As I have to insert large Xml data >4000 bytes I am now using preparedStatement.setClob() methods.
My code works fine for table which has column declared as CLOB expicitly. But for TransDetailstblCLOB where the column is declared as XMLTYPE and storage option as CLOB I am getting the error : "ORA-01461: can bind a LONG value only for insert into a LONG column".
This error means that there is a mismatch between my setClob() and column. which means am I not storing in CLOB column.
I read in Oracle site that
When you create an XMLType column without any XML schema specification, a hidden CLOB column is automatically created to store the XML data. The XMLType column itself becomes a virtual column over this hidden CLOB column. It is not possible to directly access the CLOB column; however, you can set the storage characteristics for the column using the XMLType storage clause."
I dont understand its stated here that it is a hidden CLOB column then why not I use setClob()? It worked fine for pure CLOB column (another table) then Why is it giving such error for XMLTYPE table?
I am struck up with this since 3 days. Can anyone help me please?

Error while passing date parameter to the XML data definition

I have developed a BI publisher report using XML data definition & RTF template.
This data definition contains a SQL query in it's CDATA section and runs as a concurrent program(without RDF) . We are looking to pass a date parameter to the SQL query and its not accepting the date parameter. However, when we hardcode SYSDATE in the SQL query in place of the parameter, the report runs fine. In the log file it shows that the parameter is being treated in American date style and we are using DD-MON-RRRR format. I have tried to convert the date format however still the error exists.
What we did ?

Unable to Load the XML data file in to RTF template

I am facing an error while loading my xml data which has the japanese characters values in between the XML tags into the RTF Template.Though i have installed Japan fonts in my system,still unable to load the data.

What is the best way to get rid of duplicates in the XML data?

Hi all,
Please help me with the best way to get rid of the duplicates in the XML data. Will a transform with some stylesheet do the trick? I need to read on the stylesheet first, but please tell me if that is possible. I have to deal with XML data that has tons of duplicate data. Please see one section of an XML file. You can see that for each charge, the same defendant information (address, ID numbers, etc) is included. Having 10 charges is not uncommon, so I would have the same data repeated 10 times. I first thought that I would use some temp tables to do that, but I wonder if there were a better way. Thanks a lot. Please see the data below.

I have other question of the sorting issue. Here are a large XML need to sort so I have to split it to multiple small XML files. After importing these files, I will use the XmlModify and XQuery to sort them. I'm not clear on the multiple XML files processing.
1. Can the BDB XML ensure that all these XML files were sorted or how to update all documents with same logic.
2. If I want export all these sorted documents, how can I ensure these files processed in sequence? Which document needs process first?

How do I insert the current date to hidden field?

I have a form for updating personal information. There is a field in the table called "dateupdated" that I would like to have on the form as a hiddent field that will automatically get the latest date (now).
Any idea's how I can set the hiddden field to current date?

You don't need a hidden field to do that. Depending on the database you're using, you can either use a TIMESTAMP column (in MySQL) that is automatically updated, or you can use a SQL function to insert the current date.
For example, in PHP, you can use NOW() like this in a SQL query:
$insertSQL = sprintf("INSERT INTO date_test (created, message) VALUES (NOW(), %s)",
GetSQLValueString($_POST['message'], "text"));

Oracle BI Administration Tool 11g - Fields have the XML data type

I'm using Oracle BI Administration Tool 11.1.1.3.0 and I need to import Metadata an Oracle table where same fields have the XML data type.
Please, there is someone can tell me what I must do to define these fields in Administration Tool?

in u r RPD -->Try to select import Connection Type as : XMLA then give it the URL of u r analysis services 2000 then u can able to import it.

Filtering the XMLs that get generated from IDOC

Hi All,
I have requirement to filter the XML files those get generated when a BP relationship is created. The required configuration has been done. The XMLs are getting generated, but I want to generate the XML is only if it is Contact Person Relationship.
Can somebody tell me how I can achieve it?

I am using an extended version of CRMXIF_PARTNER_REL_SAVE IDOC and in TCODE we21, I created an XML File port. Can we filter the IDOCs from which the XML will be generated, so that we can select the IDOCs we want to generate the XML from?
