Good afternoon,
I have some basic in ,Unix,C++ especially in Oops.
But I have so many basic doubts in C++.
I frequently heard the lines of Unix,C,C++.
what they mean.
that is which c++ they mean,which C++ is compatable
with Unix.
will you please give me the name and version.On Solaris, you have the choice between Sun Studio and gcc.
Because I want to install that softwares in my pc.
Another one doubt is if any type of softwares what
are they using for GUI.There are a large number of libraries that you can use to develop a GUI. On Solaris, some of the more common ones are Motif, Gtk, Qt and wxWindows. I can vouch for Qt being a sound product, but the commercial licences are not cheap.
But Now I want to install C++ in my PC(My PC is with
windows XP)If you want to write unix software, you will have to install unix. You may be able to use some form of virtual PC like vmware, otherwise you will have to install Solaris and dual boot. This is beyond the scope of this forum.
Alternatively you can install a compiler on XP. If you want to write unix style software under Windows, then this is possible with cygwin. Otherwise there are numerous C/C++ compilers for Windows.
I do not know which cd i have to bye.You can download Sun Studio 11 for free. gcc is installed with the OS.

I have no more space on my hard drive and my computer keeps freezing. I would like to move my 10,000 photos from IPHOTO to an external hard drive but dont know how to do it. I am reading answers to similiar questions but dont know how to do even the simplest instructions like "after you quit Iphoto how do you copy the iphoto library from our pictures folder to the external disk????" Make sure the external drive is formatted Mac OS extended (journaled), quit iPhoto, drag the iPhoto library to the external drive, depress the option key, launch iPhoto and use the select library command to select the iPhoto library on the external drive
Fully test the library. Once you are sure it is totally ok delete the old library - test one more time prior to emptying the trash
Check and make sure that your backup system is backing up yor external drive

Just signed up ... don't even know the basics!

I can't find the most basic information, like how to Skype someone, how to search for friends, how to add contacts, what do I tell friends to do in order to contact me via Skype. All FAQ's (I have searched HUNDREDS of them) are for more advanced issues. I can't even get started! For example, I only get my "account" page when I sign in, not the page that lets me add or search for contacts. And what I really want to do is TALK with someone on the phone ... can I do that???

Bought a mac for my sons bday present of eBay :( it starts up in osx utilities screen, iv never seen the actual desktop(launch pad) I dnt know how to access the systemI know the basics for start up but says to delete files so I can dwnload the software?

AS above states the computer seems to run normally as far as turning it on, tabs & pages are fine. But I can't access the system to delete some files.. Which is what the 'error' keeps saying everytime I tr and download a helpful link/app or software.. The instal disc that seems to be stored on the comp says its mountain lion 10.8 install disk 'read only' & this is the only disc it gives me to select to startup.. I have the full software on USB as its very large.. So .. PLEASE TELL ME finally,
HOW to ... Access comp files to delete required memory for software install?? If this is the best option..
HOW to ... Erase everything on computer & install 10.8 via USB?
And when or what enables me to see and use this computer correctly..ie, launch pad? Etc..

First: no, you cannot use someone else's install DVD unless it is a retail version; all others are machine specific. It will not work and would be illegal.

IF that is correct, then you are not on 10.8 because the highest OS it can go to would be 10.6
So, you'd either need the original install disks (preferred) or buy a retail Snow Leopard (10.6) - that is as high as you can go with that machine. And, your maximum RAM is 2 GB, so you couldn't go higher with the OS because of that either because it would not run well on 2 GB.
If you do get 10.6, then I'd suggest increasing the RAM to the max. of 2 GB.
If this is not the machine you got (maybe the seller just used any old box), then I'd suggest taking it to an Apple store/Genius Bar to have them sort out how to get out of this mess.

I am using Tomcat (version:5.5.x)now to study servlets and JSP. It is going well.
Now I am want to learn EJP.
Can I run EJP in my tomcat? or Tomcat is for servlets and JSP?
If it is can in Tomcat no problem .If it is not which server is the best one for EJP.My purpose in only I have to learn EJP well.

I would recommend a free Java IDE - Netbeans and SUN Application Server.
It supports all latest J2EE stuff, including EJBs.

Beyond the Basics Training?

I have been using iMovie for the past 3 or 4 years and know the basics of how things work. iMovie 11 has most of the same features as the older versions and some nifty new stuff, as well. I want to learn more about iMovie than just the basics, but have not been able to find a class at an Apple store that does just that. Does anyone know of any videos posted online that might teach more in-depth practices? Does anyone have any other advice for learning more about iMovie than just using it and learning as I go? I know iMovie can do lots more than I am using it for.

The difference is a knock on effect of the HTTProtocol specification(www.w3.org/Protocols/rfc2616/rfc2616.html), there are various request methods a HTTP server can support (get, post, delete, header, ect).
All methods of the servlet API can be used in the same way in doGet(HTTPServletRequest, HTTPServletResponse) and doPost(HTTPServletRequest, HTTPServletResponse).
From a development point of view the differences (not exclusibve to servlet programming) are as follows:
GET request is limited to 255characters and the request is ussually shown in browser address bars making it 'bookmarkable' - effective for getting information.
POST request has no length limit and is never (according to spec) shown in the address bar - effective for posting data to a server.
Servlet API has other methods to support the other HTTP methods respectively

Data merge is really useful in many circumstances, but my first question would be about the size of the project. A really large catalog might be better handled by processing an IDML in some kind of translation memory tool.
If all of your multilingual content is already in Excel, then it's probably best handled with a Data Merge. Note that you can't save Unicode CSV out of Excel for the merge, so for many languages you'll need to save "Unicode Text" out of Excel and tweak your import settings when you select a Data Source for encoding (Unicode) and delimiter (tab instead of comma).

I have accidentally deleted the proloquotogo app with all it's data. It was on my iCloud backup list so can I know restore all the settings for this app from a previous iCloud backup? I now only have the basic pages instead of all the programmed pages.

i have now found where the OS permission is located but cannot find a way to change it. Here is what I have done:
- Selected the Local Disk Folder
- Chose File>Get Info
- Click on Sharing and Permissions (It shows Read Only)
Now this is where I am stuck, the instruction in Apple Support says "Select a user or Group from the Name Column then choose the following Pop-Up menu in the Priviliges column(this is where the Read &Write option should be. I can't choose a user or group under the name column, all I have in the Name column is "Local Disk"
Can someone help me from here to convert to Read & Write, thanks
