Hi,
Sample..
SUBMIT (v_prog) WITH p_fpath EQ text-004    "parameters if needed
                WITH p_fname EQ v_fname            "parameters if needed
        TO SAP-SPOOL
                SPOOL PARAMETERS v_params
                USER sy-uname VIA JOB v_jobname NUMBER v_jobcount
                AND RETURN.
Then use the spool no to get the spool data using FM RSPO_DOWNLOAD_SPOOLJOB it’ll download the spool to pC using the spool number.
To display the spool you can use...
RSPO_DISPLAY_ABAP_SPOOLJOB
RSPO_DISPLAY_SPOOLJOB
Please close the thread, if solved

  • How to get the output of a background report to be shown on the screen

    When we run the background process it goes to spool request. my requirement is to show it on the screen may be after some time to the user. how can we do that. Thanks in advance

    Hello Varun,
    You cqan submit the report as a JOB and export the out put to memory, once the job is complete you can read the list to display the output.
    Cheers,
    Mano
    Cut & Paste form SAP help.
    Submit report ....
    EXPORTING LIST TO MEMORY
    Does not display the output list of the called report, but saves it in ABAP memory and leaves the called report immediately. Since the calling program can read the list from memory and process it further, you need to use the addition ... AND RETURN . Also, since the called report cannot be requested for printing, the addition ... TO SAP-SPOOL is not allowed here. In addition, you must not assign a function code to the ENTER key in the current GUI status. The saved list is read from the SAP memory using the function module 'LIST_FROM_MEMORY' and can then be saved to the database using EXPORT, for example. You can process this list further with the function modules 'WRITE_LIST', 'DISPLAY_LIST' ... of the function group "SLST".

  • Undefined is not an object error when using the Output Generator with Glossary Restyling script to create WebHelp

    When I use the Glossary Hotspot Wizard to create links within my topics to the terms, I then generate the project using the script (because I want to use popups instead of having the text display in-line). I did not edit this script before running it - do I need to? If so, where does the script reside? Any suggestions would be appreciated so that I can get this working as intended :-).

    The error occurs during the WebHelp generation. If I generate the project
    without using this script, there is no error.
    The error indicates

  • Saving the output from a JSP request

    I have developed a decision support web site that amongst other things generates a "report" page. Now my client would like to add the ability for users of the site to have that report emailed out to them.
    Sending the email obviously isn't a problem, but getting the content into it is. I really don't want to have to duplicate all the JSP code from the report page (there's a lot, including calls to beans etc), and reformat the entire thing with hundreds of out.write("<table>") like statements, or nasty plain-text formatted equivalents.
    So...is there a way to "save" the output generated by the server before it gets sent back to the user - ideally to a local file that I can then just dump straight into the email message. I can't just call the page (internally on the server) to see its output, as it's user-specific and uses a lot of session-related information.
    Cheers for any advice...
    Iain

    It's actually possible to do what I want to do by getting the server to call the page internally (I didn't think it was).
    A simple URLConnection to the appropriate page with the jessionid appended gives me back the page as the user would see it. I can then just stream the response from that to file/email/whatever.
    When the user clicks on their "email" link, I just call a jsp file (or a servlet) with the following code:
         URLConnection uc;
            BufferedInputStream fin;
         BufferedOutputStream fout;
         String location = "http://localhost:8080/blah/report.jsp"
              + ";jsessionid=" + session.getId();
         String filename = "C:\\output.html";
         try
              uc = new URL(location).openConnection();
              fin  = new BufferedInputStream(uc.getInputStream());
              fout = new BufferedOutputStream(new FileOutputStream(filename));
              int byteRead = fin.read();
              while (byteRead != -1)
                   fout.write(byteRead);
                   byteRead = fin.read();
              fout.close();
              fin.close();
         catch (Exception e) {}Now all I have to do is go learn how to write multipart emails using JavaMail...

  • Dynamic Names for the Outputs

    Hi,
    I was wondering if it would be possible to name the PDF outputs dynamically?
    Say for example, I have a tag in the XML <TemplateName>ABC</TemplateName>. Can I have the output PDF with the name 'ABC'?
    And
    Is it possible to explicitly specifiy the name 'ABC' somewhere in the INI file so that the outputs generated will be multiple versions for 'ABC' (like ABC001, ABC002 etc)?
    Many Thanks,
    Phew

    Phew,
    As mentioned earlier, in order to rename the file you have two steps:
    1) Make the input data value available to genprint - this is normally done by creating a global variable.
    2) Configure the PDF print driver. Depending on the version of Documaker you are using you can refer to one of the following manuals:
    a) 11.5 - Using the PDF Print Driver - http://docs.oracle.com/cd/E16256_01/pdf_book.pdf (see section "Generating Separate Print Files")
    b) 12.x - Printers Reference - http://docs.oracle.com/cd/E22582_01/printers_rg.pdf (see section "Generating Separate Print Files")
    Essentially you will configure the INI like so:
    < BatchPrint >
    PDF = ~FUNCTION .PDF
    Where ~FUNCTION is an INI Built-in function like one of these:
    ~DALRUN {function name} - executes a DAL function to return a string which is used to name the file.
    ~DALVAR {variable name} - returns the value of a DAL variable which is used to name the file.
    Don't forget the space after the built-in function before the static bit of the filename...
    Best,
    Andy

  • Can the output of Date.toString() be parsed by a method of SimpleDateFormat

    Hi,
    I am working on J2SE 1.2.2.
    Can the output of Date.toString() be intepreted successfully by the SimpleDateFormat.format(String) method.
    An example of the output generated by Date.toString() is
    "Mon Jul 02 20:53:27 GMT 1810"
    I don't see a Symbol that can handle a month in the form of
    "Jul" nor a symbol that can handle a day in the form of
    "Mon". The closest symbols I
    can see are
    - M (Text & Number) July & 07
    - E (Text) Monday
    Can "z" be used to represent a
    time zone in the form of "GMT"?
    Will the above symbols work? If not are there symbols that can be used?
    Thanks
    Harsha

    Try this form.
    SimpleDateFormat formatter = new SimpleDateFormat("EEE MMM dd HH:mm:ss zzz yyyy", Locale.US);

  • Modifying the structure of the output by adhoc query designer

    Hi,
    Is there any way of modifying the output structure[row, column width, background color,font ] of the result given by the ad-hoc query in WAD.
    I want to change the font,size, color of the text output given by executing the query using the ad-hoc query designer.
    Please let me know if i can modify some class or method to do so or any other possibility?
    Thanks
    Sachin

    Hi Sachin,
    If you are designing a Table or a Chart on WAD , then you have the option of changing by right click on Table or Chart and click Properties/Edit properties.. here you can change the output color, font, background, width, number of output rows.. etc
    hope this helps,

  • Unable to generate the output for S_ALR_87012048

    Dear All,
    We are trying to execute the report  S_ALR_87012048 for the first period in 2015.  We have tried execute this report with report date 25.01.2015 (which is the last day in period 01), but it is giving no data was selected.
    Can anybody suggest whether I need to give any further inputs to generate the output apart from the below.
    Co.code : 9000
    Reporting date : 25.01.2015 (which is the last day in our fiscal period 01 /2015)
    Dep area : 01
    Sort Variant : 03 (co.code / bs  accounts / asset class)
    User able to execute this report in the last month successfully.
    We have completed all year ending process as well.
    I have tried execute this report in our quality system with reporting date as 31.12.2014 and 31.12.2015.
    Do we need to give reporting date as year ending date ? or last date of current period.
    Thanks in Advance.
    Prasad

    Hi Prasad,
    I do believe that you should consider the authorization side of the matter carefully as pointed out by Mahmoud on Feb 6th. Please check again the mentioned SAP Notes in that thread.
    For example, I just tested in my system, I can trigger a report even in a closed fiscal year with a report date end of each period. The only difference is that I get a information message:
    Report date is in a closed fiscal year
    Message no. AU172
    Diagnosis
    The report date is in the past.
    Here the report date is allowed to be the end of the year as well as any
    period end during the fiscal year.
    System Response
    In an asset report during the fiscal year (report date for a period end
    within the year) in a closed fiscal year, it can be the case that the results
    for depreciation or the net book value are different between the historical
    calculation and the current calculation for the report date. The reason for this
    are any changes to asset-related depreciation terms, such as the depreciation
    key, useful life, and so on. In the case of such changes, the asset values are
    recalculated with the currently entered depreciation terms.
    In an open fiscal year and a report date end of period I do not get AU172 and get an output.
    Beside above provided SAP Notes, also see another couple of SAP Notes with some interesting information are also:

  • How to generate the output of a BSP application in PDF format?

    Hi,

    I am using oracle version 11.2.0.1, I have set a cronjob which will run on every 15 minutes and give us a log file mentioning the execution time taken for that SQL query:-
    The above query will return the output as well as the time taken for execution of the query. I want to suppress the output of the query and only want the time taken to be printed. Is it possible by set commands. I have marked the output as bold and made it Italic.
    >
    How would that even be useful?
    A query from a tool such as sql*plus is STILL going to send the output to the client and the client. You can keep sql*plus from actually displaying the data by setting autotrace to trace only.
    But that TIME TAKEN is still going to include the network time it takes to send ALL rows that the query returns across the network.
    That time is NOT the same as the actual execution time of the query. So unless you are trying to determine how long it takes to send the data over the network your 'timing' method is rather flawed.
    Why don't you tell us WHAT PROBLEM you are trying to solve so we can help you solve it?

    Hi every one,
    I have a small requirement. My client want me to run a program in a foreground if the output is small and should the program in background if the output is large.This has to be achieved through coding. Hi Nag
    that is not possible with codeing. To create a schedule a background job for the same program depending on its output is not possible.
    being a programmer you need to decide, how long the code will take to execute.. accordingly you can either schedule or run in foreground. You can make some mandatory fields in the selection screen, so that the output is big mostly.
    see the sample code for the Job scheduling using the fun modules

  • Run the Report as a Background job and Get the Output in Excel in Local PC

    I have one following requirement.
    One should be able to run the report as a background job and it should be possible to get the report in Excel format, also when running the report in background. The excel report should have the same information and look as the current SAPreport.

    GUI_* WS_* Function In Background, CSV Upload
    GUI_* and WS_* function modules do not work in background
    When scheduling a job in the background the appropriate statement to read in your file is OPEN DATASET, and the file must be on the file system that the SAP server can see.
    At anytime, a user can switch of the Personal Computers even though the job is still running in the background.  Therefore GUI_* and WS_* function modules are not designed to work in that way, as they need to access your personal computer  file.
    To choose the correct download method to used, you can check the value of SY-BATCH in your code,
    if it is 'X' use OPEN DATASET and if it is ' ' use WS_UPLOAD.
    *-- Open dataset for reading
    DATA:
      dsn(20) VALUE '/usr/test.dat',
      rec(80).
    OPEN DATASET dsn FOR INPUT IN TEXT MODE.
    IF sy-subrc = 0.
      DO.
        READ DATASET dsn INTO rec.
        IF sy-subrc <> 0.
          EXIT.
        ELSE.
          WRITE / rec.
        ENDIF.
      ENDDO.
    ENDIF.
    CLOSE DATASET dsn.
    *-- Open dataset for writing
    DATA rec(80).
    OPEN DATASET dsn FOR OUTPUT IN TEXT MODE.
      TRANSFER rec TO '/usr/test.dat'.
    CLOSE DATASET dsn.
    What is the difference when we use upload, ws_upload, gui_upload function modules?
    UPLOAD, WS_UPLOAD, GUI_UPLOAD, are used in BDC concepts.  ie., Batch Data Communication.
    Batch Data Conversion is a concept where user can transfer the Data from non SAP to SAP R/3.  So , in these various Function Modules are used.
    UPLOAD---  upload a file to the presentation server (PC)
    WS_UPLOAD----    Load Files from the Presentation Server to Internal ABAP Tables.
    WS means Work Station.
    This is used upto SAP 4.6 version.
    GUI_UPLOAD-------    Replaces WS_UPLOAD. Upoad file from presentation server to the app server.  From 4.7 SAP version it is replaced.
    How to Upload csv file to SAP?
    Common File Download Upload Questions:
    How  you upload the data from text file to sap internal table?  From my knowledge its by upload or gui_upload.
    How you download the data from sap internal table to text file?
    How  you upload the data from xls (excel) file to sap internal table how you download the data from sap internal table to xls(excel) file.
    You can upload data from presentation server to an internal table using gui_upload. Use gui_download to download from internal table to flat file.
    Use fm ALSM_EXCEL_TO_INTERNAL_TABLE to upload data frm excel.
    Use function module GUI_UPLOAD
    The FILETYPE refer to the type of file format you need: For e.g 'WK1' - Excel format , 'ASC' - Text Format etc.
    CALL FUNCTION 'GUI_UPLOAD'

  • Can we generate the output of SQL Query in XML format ..

    Hi Team,
    Can we generate an XML doc for an SQL Query.
    I've seen in SQL Server 2000.It is generating the output of an SQL Query in xml format.
    select * from emp for xml auto
    The output looks like
    <emp EMPNO="7369" ENAME="SMITH" JOB="CLERK" MGR="7902" HIREDATE="1980-12-17T00:00:00" SAL="2800" DEPTNO="20"/><emp EMPNO="7370" ENAME="SMITH" JOB="CLERK" MGR="7902" HIREDATE="1980-12-17T00:00:00" SAL="2800" DEPTNO="10"/>

    Just a little bit of short hand.
    Get the XML out of your database, via HTTP
    Of course the easiest method is just to return an XMLType from a stored procedure and let the calling routine figure out what to do with it. Instead
    of that way though, I'll show you how to do it via HTTP. It's all completely built into 10g and is super easy to use.
    CREATE OR REPLACE VIEW emps_and_depts AS
    SELECT e.employee_id AS "EmployeeId",
    e.last_name AS "Name",
    e.job_id AS "Job",
    e.manager_id AS "Manager",
    e.hire_date AS "HireDate",
    e.salary AS "Salary",
    e.commission_pct AS "Commission",
    XMLFOREST (
    d.department_id AS "DeptNo",
    d.department_name AS "DeptName",
    d.location_id AS "Location"
    ) AS "Dept"
    FROM employees e, departments d
    WHERE e.department_id = d.department_id
    Some people hear web and immediately start salivating about security issues. Let me address that quickly. Just because you have the HTTP and/or
    FTP servers running in the database, that does not mean you have a security problem. For one, I would hope your databases are behind a firewall.
    Second, with the correct architecture (DMZ, app servers, etc) you can make this data available outside the firewall fairly transparently and third,
    just because it's on the web does not mean the data MUST be available on the internet. This is a good way to make your data available on your
    intranet. If you are worried about people INSIDE your firewall, that still doesn't preclude web based access. Follow Oracle security guidelines.
    Before I show you how to get to your data, let's talk about URLs and URIs. A URL is a Uniform Resource Locater and URI is a Uniform Resource
    Identifier. A URL is the way you would identify a document on the net, i.e. http://www.oracle.com is a URL. A URI is a more generic form of a URL.
    Oracle supports three types of URI: HTTPURIType - basically a URL (which would be like the URL above), XDURIType - a pointer to an XDB resource
    (usually an XML document but can be other objects), and DBURIType - a pointer to database objects.
    It's the DBURIType that we're going to concentrate on here. The DBURIType let's us reference database objects using a file/folder paradigm. The
    format for a DBURI is /oradb/<schema>/<table>. Oradb is shorthand for the database; it is not the database name or SID. My database is named XE
    but I still use oradb in the DBURI. For example, the view we created above is in my XE database, is owned by HR (at least in my case) and is called
    EMPS_AND_DEPTS. This can be referenced as /oradb/HR/EMPS_AND_DEPTS.
    If the view had many rows and you wanted only one of them, you can restrict it by including a predicate. The documentation for XDB has a great
    write up on Using DBURIs.In our case, we are going to write out the entire document. Now that you understand that the DBURI is a pointer to
    objects in our instance, we can use that to access the data as a URL.
    The format for the URL call is http://<machinename>:<port>/<DBURI>
    In my case, my XE database is running on a machine called mach1 and is listening on port 8080. So to see the view we created above, I open my
    browser and navigate to: http//mach1:8080/oradb/HR/EMPS_AND_DEPTS
    The created URL will be as http//mach1:8080/oradb/PUBLIC/EMPS_AND_DEPTS
    If your database is set up correctly and listening on port 8080 (the default), your browser should ask you to login. Login as the user who created the
    view (in my case HR). You should now get an XML document displayed in your browser.
    And that's it. It doesn't get much simpler than that. If you get rid of the descriptive text above, it basically comes down to:
    Create a table or view
    Open your web browser
    Enter a URL
    Enter a user ID and password
    View your XML
    If you notice, Oracle formatted the data as XML for us. Our view returns scalar columns and an XML fragment called Dept. Oracle formatted the
    return results into an XML format.
    And as a side note, if you look closely, you'll see that my URL has PUBLIC where I said to put HR. PUBLIC is a synonym for all objects that your
    logged in user can see. That way, if your user has been granted select access on many schemas, you can use PUBLIC and see any of them.

  • In the output list Repeating one line always when generating query by sq01

    Hi,
    I have generated a query in sq01 for list material document for movment type 301 (Transfer posting) using below tables :
    MSEG          Material No. MATNR, Movt. - BWART, Qty. -MENGE
    MKPF          Material doc. field  MBLNR
    MARC          Stock in Transit UMLMC
    some times it is generating the output as i want i.e.
    Material document          material no.      qty.     movt.      stock in transit
    4001               1xx          1     301     0
    4002               2xx          2     301     0
    but some time it is repeating the same line in output ie..
    Material document          material no.      qty.     movt.      stock in transit
    4001               1xx          1     301     0
    4001               1xx          1     301     0
    4001               1xx          1     301     0
    4001               1xx          1     301     0
    Please let me know the reason. is there any control in sq01.
    Thanks

    Yeah it is clear visible that, the same combination might have available in different plants.
    So to avoid the duplicate entries, always select all the primary key fields available in all the tables in the output.
    If not atleast try restricting based on plant in the selection screen or any possible duplicate entreis.
    So add the key fields at Infoset level in SQ02
