Today i received a private message on my iPhone 4... It was full screen with no number and no way to reply all I could do was exit the screen. There was then no log or anything! How is that done?

1) ensure iTunes is authorized for your iTunes store account(s)
2) connect your device and right-click or control-click it in the iTunes Source list, then choose transfer purchases from the shortcut menu that appears.
3) sync the device
iTunes will wipe the iPhone but, since you transferred your purchases in the previous step, your content will be in your library and you can re-populate the iPhone with it.

I don't think that's configurable since I've never seen it in the admin panel and it's consistent across any Lithium-based community I've joined.

What's the precise text of that error message, please? (There's a few different ones I can think of that you might be getting.)

Archiving on minidv - how is that done?

In a recent post one reply said minidv tapes were the easy and cheap way to back up or archive iMovie and iDVD projects. How is that done?
I've seen references to feeding material back to the camcorder but my Canon Elura doesn't appear to have that capability.
I store my iPhoto, iMovie and iDVD projects on a 300GB hard drive and assumed the best archival system is simply another large hard drive, on the presumption that both won't go belly up simultaneously.

If so, there is no mention of using minidv tape to "archive" but rather shooting it back out to mini dv tape via iMovie as a "backup" and reworking the project at a later date w/in iMovie and finally to iDVD.
If your intention is to archive only, then the external FW HD approach is what I recommend also. Hope this is Helpful & good luck to you.

As I said, I don't use Time Machine, so it'd be best to wait for an "expert" answer, but, with my very limited knowledge, I'd say: probably not - so, for now, I'd suggest you read up on Time Machine:

Thank you everyone. I apologize to confusing all but I am up to date and running OS X 10.8.2. It's possible I purchased the key for Office but I don't think so although it was 3-4 years ago. I guess I will stop in the Apple Store and just ask. I may just buy the new bundle anyway to get the most updated.

Connect phone to computer.
Select Restore.
Tell iTunes which of the available backup files to use, let iTunes restore it.
Also, try reading the User's Guide as it answers questions like this.

I am having a similar problem. Running Xp.
Latest revision of firefox.
After using firefox for a while if I exit, parent.lock is locked and i have to reboot to reload firefox.
I have killed all firefox applications from task manager (usually there are none). and I have tried 3 different "file unlock" programs including unlocker to no avail.
I also recently installed a program that shows -all- open files, and parent.lock is not listed, and thus not closable/unlockable from there.
