Tomcat & Apache Soap Installation
I have install the Tomcat successfully and also install the Apache Soap.
But when I tried to do the test (from: http://xml.apache.org/soap/docs/index.html):
Point my browser to:
http://localhost:port/soap/servlet/rpcrouter
there is no expected answer like following appears:
The browser should display the following:
SOAP (RPC|Message) Router
Sorry, I don't speak via HTTP GET- you have to use HTTP POST to talk to me.
the brower only says it cannot find the webpage!
does anyone know the reason? your help is appreciated in advance now!!
Gang
This may be due to the classpath problem. xerces.jar should be first in the classpath. Otherwise for xml related files tomcat goes to jaxp.jar
U read the following document. It'll help u a lot in installing apache soap.

thx b4 in advance...Hi,
Apache documentation can be found at http://httpd.apache.org/docs/

How to install Apache Soap in OC4J?
I used Soap in Tomcat an couple of weeks ago. I try to use Soap in OC4j. I can not find any instruction in soap web site. Could you please tell me if you know how to do it?
Thank you.
MarianHi,
to deploy the Apache SOAP (Axis I guess) you can do the following (this deployment is to the global application of OC4J):
Add to application.xml:
<web-module id="axis" path="C:\\TEMP\\xml-axis-alpha3\\webapps\\axis" />
Add to http-web-site.xml or default-web-site.xml (depending if you are running 1.0.2.2 or the pre-release of OC4J v2.0):
<web-app application="default" name="axis" root="/axis" />
You can now access the app using the following URL: http://localhost:8888/axis

Synchronous BPEL process calling apache soap 2.3.1 service(s) on jboss
I have a problem that is quite frustratiing. I have a very simple synchronous BPEL process and I am trying to invoke some legacy services we have deployed using Apache soap 2.3.1 running on jboss. The process executes, the service executes, but the return value is not received by the BPEL process.
I used obtunnel to capture the data flow and everything seems fine from that perspective. The problem is, if you watch the monitor, the status says active, but the BPEL process returns immediately. It does not wait for the response, so the return value winds up being null. I have tried this numerous times with several services and the result is always the same. This is a serious problem for us. Any suggestions/insight would be very much appreciated.
Ina case there are any doubts as to whether or not it is actually a synchronous process, from the BPEL code:

Exception while handling service request: org/apache/soap/Envelope
Hi all,
i´ve tried to run a message style webservice .
Now i always get following Error: Exception while handling service request: org/apache/soap/Envelope
Can anyone tell me what i should do?
I use Bea 6.1 and Apache Soap 2.2
I have deployed the Webservice and when i try to run the samples in apache all
works fine.
Thank you very much!!found the problem.
I use apache soap with tomcat 5.5.9
wrong: place the class file in a jar in the common/lib folder of tomcat
wright: place the class file in the directory webapps/soap/web-inf/classes
an other problem is when the method not exist -
Interoperability between apache soap toolkit(client)and ms soap toolkit
Interoperability between apache soap toolkit(client)and ms soap toolkit.Give me an example where i can send and receive a complex data type from apache tomcat in client side to ms soap toolkit on the server side.It is urgent.Plz try to give me a solution as soon as possible.
The toolkits don't have to work together at all. And by the way, you aren't sending the data to the MS toolkit, you're sending it to some MS product that can process the data. Any data that follows the standards should work.

XSQL : deploy On tomcat-apache
hi Every Body
I'm Working with jdev 3.2. The Application I developed contains
some Xsql Pages. I want to deploy this application on the tomcat-
apache sever , installed on LINUX.
I added all the classes that take in charge Xsql Pages to the
classpath.
I modified the web.xml tomcat file to map the xsql pages with
the oracle.xml.xsql.XSQLServlet , by adding these lines
<servlet>
<servlet-name>xsql</servlet-name>
<servlet-class>oracle.xml.xsql.XSQLServlet</servlet-class>
<load-on-startup>-2147483646</load-on-startup>
</servlet>
and also the servlet mapping
<servlet-mapping>
<servlet-name>xsql</servlet-name></servlet-mapping>
<url-pattern>*.xsql</url-pattern>
</servlet-mapping>
I modified also the httpd.conf file adding these lines:
AddType text/xsql .xsql
AddHandler jserv-servlet .xsql
BUT when I try to open an xsql page it's displayed like it's in
the jdeloper editor (the code source is displayed) without being
executed.
I don't know what to do. any suggestion.
thanks in advance
GhassenThe installation instructions in the XSQL release note do not
mention adding lines like:
AddType text/xsql .xsql
AddHandler jserv-servlet .xsql If you remove these lines and restart, what happens? IF fact When I add these lines , what heppens is that the Xsql
Page is downloaded to my PC and Opened with Jdeveloper. If I
remove these lines The page Is Opened in the browser but with
out being executed.

'Apache SOAP 3.0 (Axis)'
How do i configure the proxy generator to use 'Apache SOAP 3.0 (Axis)'?
The interop with OC4J904 adds a pretty major feature with its untyped support. If you look through the list here you will see almost 80-90% of the questions to do with interop have to do with untyped. So I am hoping that this change will solve the most prominent use cases. There is one unsupported case in the preview that has now been fixed for production and that is support for arrays with untyped elements (e.g. the SOAP messages has the array definition through SOAP encoding but the contents of the array are untyped).
Going forward to the JavaOne timeframe we expect to be previewing our JAXRPC implementation on OC4J that will have our first step towards WS-I compliance - as both sides MS and the Java camp both are working heavily in the WS-I organization and expect to have WS-I compliant engines, I believe/hope this will be the next big step towards interop between platforms.
So as for your question on Apache AXIS ... if you are planning to stay with the integrated Oracle stack that is evolving pretty tightly with the standards, the answer would be no - stick with Oracle's stack. Especially since development right now is heavily focussed around JAX-RPC support.
However, there are things that AXIS has today that we do not have so there may be tactical reasons to go to it today. For deployment of AXIS on OC4J you shouldn't have to use Tomcat at all ... in the 1.0 and the 1.1 RC there is essentially a WEB-INF directory with all the required files in it - the lazy way to test it out without thinking at all is to create an empty J2EE application called "XXX" where XXX is some meaningful name, deploy XXX to OC4J and then drop in a new WEB-INF directory from AXIS in there and away you go.

Error while starting Tomcat Apache and Jaguar services in AW webview server
hi,
I am facing a problem with AW webview server. I am not able to restart the Tomcat Apache and Jaguar Service after a planned server reboot activity.I am getting the below error.
"Could not start Apache Tomcat service on Local Computer. Error 1069. The service could not start due to log on failure"
The below account has been verified in the Domain controller and confirmed that the account is not Locked out or disabled.
I have AW , HDS and Webview running on the same server.
Can someone advice ...What OS version? This might be a windows problem and not a Apache/Jaguar problem.

Tomcat, Apache, mod_webapp and reloadable
Hi, I'm not sure if this is the best spot to post this, if you know of another group that might be more helpful I'd appreciate the link...
We are currently running Apache and using mod_webapp to connect Tomcat4 to it. We are defining a few applications in mod_webapp.conf, like so:
WebAppConnection conn warp localhost:8008
WebAppDeploy appname conn /appname
Then in the server.xml we define the connector like this:
<Connector className="org.apache.catalina.connector.warp.WarpConnector"
port="8008" minProcessors="5" maxProcessors="75"
enableLookups="true" appBase="/dirname"
acceptCount="10" debug="0"/>
The problem is that new class files are not picked up by Tomcat. There does not seem to be a good place to set the customary "reloadable=true" flag for our development application. Does anybody know how I could accomplish this with our setup?
Thanks!
-EricDid you create a context for the webapp in the tomcat
conf/server.xml
<Context path="/myApp" docBase="myApp"
reloadable="true" debug="0">
</Context>No, we are just using the "appBase" attribute of the Connector element in the server.xml file to reference each application. It seems to me that we should be defining a Context for each application also, though I'm not sure how we would then use those with the WarpConnector to attach to Apache.
In case it will help, here are the server.xml and mod_webapp.conf contents:
