TomTom navigator on Palm TX

TomTom have withdrawn all their navigator 5 maps which means I am unable to update, or even get maps of different areas.  They say that Navigator 6 is not compatible with the Palm TX, but refuse to say why, or give any helpful information whatever.  Can anyone help with either a source of navigator 5 maps, or as to whether navigator 6 can be run on a Palm TX.
Thanks Wheelyjon

Navigator 6 maps are reported by several users at Brighthand discussion forums to work with the TX.

Does anyone know how to do a manual installation of TomTom Navigator 6 onto an SD card
    Thanks, Duncan

Hi, and welcome to the Palm Support Community.
I believe that TomTom Navigator must be installed to your device's internal memory...there is an involved installation routine which requires a device code and an authorization code which won't work if you are trying to install the application to a card.  At least, that's what I recall.  It is only the maps which can be installed to a SD card.

  • I have installed TomTom navigation on my ipad2 but it doesn't work?

I have installed TomTom navigation on my ipad2 but it doesn't work? Actually the application starts to find the Satelite but it never finds it,!?

Are you outside with a clear view of the sky? The first time a GPS device tries to acquire the GPS satellites it could take several minutes. Subsequent acquisitions will be faster.
And as already asked, does your iPad have GPS?

  • Tomtom navigation with Ipod touch 3?

    Hi,
Can I get the TOMTOM navigation app and use it on a Ipod Touch 3? I was wondering cause I have heard that the touch doesnt have a gps chip built in. And I tried to fit the touch into the tomtom cradle that I use for my iphone and it wont fit in there (too skinny). So is there a way?

Since the TomTom car kit for the iPhone is not adjustable, the iPod Touch won't fit. TomTom does sell a car kit designed for the iPod Touch: http://www.tomtom.com/products/product.php?ID=1045&Category=2&Lid=4

  • Does the TomTom Navigation for the U.S. and Canada work without WiFi/Internet Access. I have the iPad 2 with 32GB and 3G. Thanks for your help! :-)

We are from Austria and we are travelling to the US next week. As we have rent a car to get around we thought it would be a great help to install the TomTom Navigation on our iPad 2. But the question is if it does also work without WiFi as we will not have a SIM-Card or something else in the iPad when we are travelling around.
    Thanks in advance!

My suggestion would be to rent a car with the Tom Tom or another similar product already installed. It will be much easier to use that I think than your iPad while driving. Most major rental companies offer these on their vehicles in the US for a fee.

There's no compatibility list on their website, which is odd. From what I gather, they're merging the two into one package for simplicity.
It's down to the confusion and anger that some smart/PDA needed one version, whilst others the other and no clear guide one which was needed.

  • TomTom NAVIGATOR 6 installation problems on N73

TT Navigator 6 won't install on my Nokia N73.
TomTom HOME offers some Destination units.
Destination unit: 'Symbian Series 60 3rd Edition' reports 'Program not compatible with phone'.
Destination unit: 'Symbian UIQ 3rd Edition' is accepted, but the following continuing installation on disconnected phone, reports unable to complete!
Will be greatful for any support.

I've got the same problem. I am trying to install "NAVIGATOR 6 - Software & Maps of WE" onto my Nokia N73 phone.
I have connected my phone to the computer as a mass-storage-device, and this appears in TomTom-Home.
I have installed the latest version of TomTom-Home (V1.5 Build 032).
I have selected "My Device" as a "Symbian Serias 60 3rd edition", which is correct for the Nokia N73 (running the latest firmware V 3.0704.1.0.1 19-01-2007 RM-133).
When I do this, ALL of the application choices within the "Application" window of TomTom-Home are greyed out...including "TomTom application for S60" !!
Despite this, if I select "TomTom application for S60" and try to install it, I get the message "This item is not suitable for you TomTom device".
I can quite happily install maps, POI etc, but NOT the actual TomTom application.
I have contacted TomTom support, but as yet have no reply!

I haven't tried tomtom but Garmin Mobile XT is working flawless. N79 supports up to 32GB.
I've not seen any reference to the N79 supporting more than 8GB of memory via the SDHC slot. All the Nokia documents I've seen state a maximum of 8GB which is the card I'm currently using in mine.

  • Issue since iOS Update with TomTom Carkit

    Hardware:
    iPhone 4, iOS latest Patchlevel
TomTom Navigation CarKit with integrated Speaker, GPS and Bluetooth connection
I have got the following issue since the iOS Update to 6.x
integrated CarKit Speaker is no longer in use=> After receiving an Email with notification signal the speaker becomes active => Makes the usage of a Navigation Software a little more complicated without spoken notifications
Continuos Bluetooth Connection loss to the dock, sometimes followed by the message: Charging with this device is not supported! Could only be solved with undocking/docking the iPhone => complicated during driving on a motorway!
Some apps are no longer able to start (mostly games for my kids).
    Has anyone an idea?

Have you contacted Honda? Is there a firmware update for the car system?
    Sometimes this works:
    - Reset the iOS device. Nothing will be lost
Reset iOS device: Hold down the On/Off button and the Home button at the same time for at
least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears.
    - Reset all settings
Go to Settings > General > Reset and tap Reset All Settings.
All your preferences and settings are reset. Information (such as contacts and calendars) and media (such as songs and videos) aren’t affected.
    - Restore from backup. See:
    iOS: How to back up
      - Restore to factory settings/new iOS device.
Sometimes an iOS updates breaks compatibility and y have to air for a firmware update to the car system or iOS update

  • After updating to iOS 6 gps signals are no more transmitted to tomtom or navigon

With iOS 5.x TomTom navigation worked fine. Now with iOS 6, I have to turn on the localization service (ok) AND the wifi. In fact, the gps data is not transmitted from the antenna to the application (TomTom or Navigon). iOS 6 is really not sexy...

The problem is not with the tom-tom car Kit or the dual external GPS. The problem has to do with iOS 6 privacy settings. I have an iTouch 4 and I  been having the same problem with my GPS. I'm using the tom-tom app and the tom-tom car Kit. The solution for getting the GPS working again is. First shut down the tom-tom app or what ever app you're using. Now go to settings And General and then scroll to the bottom and tap reset. Now tap Reset location and privacy. Now load your tom-tom or navigation app And it should prompt you to turn on location service again, Say yes. Now under location services you should see The tom-tom app or the navigation app you were using and slide it to on. Now Your tom-tom app should be working correctly now, But the catch is it's only going to work until another program ask to use local services. It is definitely 100% an error an iOS 6 Privacy settings. I have no idea why it does this but you can reset and it'll work every time.

  • N96 TomTom Micro Sd Card - How does it work ?

    Hi All
I have just bought a TomTom Navigator 7 on a micro Sd card. I have no instructions, and have no idea how to get it working. All it tells me is to turn off, the on, and choose automatic. I followed this, and no joy - doesn't come up with anything. I have NO idea what to do with it. PLEASE HELP !!!!!!  Can any one give me a step by step guide on how to make it work. Thank you in advance.  Phil

I think it´ll be difficult to get help here, maybe someone who has installed TomTom Navigator 7 on can help, but in general I think it´s easier to ask the TomTom support.
Sadly if I go to the TomTom HP it´ll automatically take me to the German site, but if you google "tomtom support" it´ll take you to the support site which seems pretty extensive.
Let us know if it worked out for you.
By clicking the "Kudos!" or the "Solution?" button on the right you can say "Thank You" and you´ll show the author and others that the post is useful.

  • Why isn't Greece navigation covered by the tom tom Europe app

I have the tomtom Europe map on my ipod touch and although a number of countries are available, Greece isn't one of them and as it is definitely in Europe how do I get this added?

The updates are pushed out via iTunes, as is all content for iOS devices.  The app developer is still the one responsible for providing the updated content to Apple.  Apple does nothing more than allow the content to be placed in the store, and then make it accessible to iOS users.
Seems TomTom's folks just messed up the iOS update release?

  • MobilNova - Media Center for TomTom

    http://www.mobilnova.com/MobilNova/en/
Media Center for TomTom extends all-in-one TomTom navigation systems into a portable Video and MP3 Player

    dbiz,
I have no problem with making Media Center an add-on for personal versions of Windows IF MS wants to sell it at a lower price. My problem is as a Volume Licensing customer, we are paying the same yearly fee (yearly recurring income for Microsoft) as we have
in the past and are getting features taken away from us that we had in Windows 7. Both DVD/MPEG2 playback in Media Player and Media Center were included in our VL versions of both Windows 7 Pro and Windows 7 Enterprise. We are not seeing our licensing costs
go down but paying the same amount and getting less.
By all means, feel free to make Media Center and DVD/MPEG2 playback an add-on for personal versions of Windows (if you are dropping the price), but include it for your VL customers who are paying for SA and who's prices are not going down.
Businesses (or schools in my case) do not want to add 3rd party solutions to our images and don't like losing functionality we have had in the past. Even Media Center had it's place in the classroom. You could do network TV Tuners or just have a nice interface
to play back media on a connected TV or projector for the classroom.
