Tool to get fromuser from dump?

Hi all,
I was wondering if there is a tool to get the 'fromuser' from a database dump. At this moment, I am programming a tool to get the fromuser, but maybe a tool is already exists to get this data.
I hope someone can help me. Thanks!

i know for sure this would not give the fromuser, it gives scripts with object owner as whatever id you are running the imp, example if you run
imp SCOTT/TIGER@ORCL file=test.dmp indexfile=test.sql.
the output test.sql will have all object owner as SCOTT.
show=y is the better option.

To get changes from Dumps

Hi,
Task:
1) We get daily a full Oracle Dump (two schemas) with appr. 5.000.000 Rows (we cannot change / customize / ... the original data base)
2) We have to track the date changes for certain tables with information like date, table name, certain columns, kind of change (insert / update, delete) - > into an Oracle Express Edition DB
3) Approach to solving the problem
a) Import the whole dump (2 schemas)
b) Copy the original 2 schemas in 2 copy schemas ( how ?)
c) Delete content of original schemas ( how ? )
d) Import the whole dump (2 original schemas)
e) Compare content (only certain tables) of original / copy schemas
.....i) Build "-" (identify DELETE / INSERT)
.....ii) Build intersect with compare ( how ? )
.....iii) insert rows wit date in 2) in approriate tables
f) delete content of 2 Copy schemas
g) "on the next day" repeat from b)
I would like to have some suggestions regarding 3b, 3c and 3eii:
A) Easy way
B) performance

Let me take a stab at this ...
1. every day import schema as schema1_yyyymmdd and schema2_yyyymmdd
2. Write a procedure that will take two dates as parameters and then compare diff using [dbms_comparison|http://docs.oracle.com/cd/E11882_01/appdev.112/e25788/d_comparison.htm#CHDHEFFJ].
Examples can be found Here here here and other places. This might be helpful for you to compare table definition/data.
[dbms_metadata_diff|http://docs.oracle.com/cd/E11882_01/appdev.112/e25788/d_metadiff.htm#CHEGCGCB] can be used to compare non-data stuff.
It seems like hard work, but this will be one time setup .. then you just have to call procedure with different dates. Of course I am assuming you are on Oracle 11g, if not, you can still write code to compare data. check Asktom website there are some good reads on comparing data between two tables/databases etc.

Is there a Windows tool to get pictures from Aperture's library and put them on the proper folders ?

So I got this huge Aperture library stored on a backup disk, but had to sell my iMac without having a chance to export all my pictures to a Windows laptop I have. My pictures are still accessible from Windows if I browse through my Aperture Library, but they are sitting in some cryptic folders.
Question is: Is there a Windows tool which would read the library's metadata and export the pictures to the appropriated folders (like "holidays in Europe 2009", or something less cheesy).

Short answer, no, if there is a program I have not read about one. If there a Apple store near you, maybe they can load your Aperture library then export all the Masters and Versions to a flash drive.

Best tool to archive data from DW to external storage.

Hi,
I want to archive the data of couple of tables in DW at regular interval to some external storage. This archived file will be loaded in relational table again for read only processing later when required. These table's data has got retention period so data gets deleted after retention period. The table is partitioned on ACTION_DATE column.
I don't have access to filesystem on DW servers so will prefer to avoid to store any file on filesystem.
We are using Oracle 10.2.
Following are three options I can think of:
1) Use exp / imp tools to get data from required tables. I will be running this script daily so I can take data of one partition only (feature supported by exp/imp). I will want to import data in DW to some other table (table with different name to original table but same schema) when required sometime later for processing because of retention period issue. But imp do not support this option. Or at least I do not know of any .
2) Use expdb/impdb tools. It will help as it is faster to exp/imp and also it has REMAP_TABLE feature which can help me to load data in table with different name. But the problem with this approach is impdb/expdb requires/stores file on server (in this case DW servers ). As mentioned I am not preferring for this solution. If we have a convenient way to get the data on client side and put back on server when impdb has to be executed this option can be used. Or some other approach using expdb/impdb tools.
3) Use spool /sqlloader. Haven't explored a lot about this option yet. But am concerned about efficiency of this solution. Also the complexity of implementation with this approach. Spool will give required data in csv format and it will be loaded later using sqlloader.
Please help me with selecting an approach here. Also if anyone has a better solution for the above problem please do mention about the same.

If all the photos etc. are on your iPhone, you can back them up after you get your SSD going. If there is more in the backup on your failing HD, you can try copying it manually.

Not necessarily. In iTunes Preferences>Devices you can check the box "Prevent iPod, iPhone, iPad etc. from syncing automatically."
Then you can back up iPhone to your computer or iCloud.
In Internet Recovery you are given options -- to erase the hd or ssd and install Mavericks, or restore from Time Machine.
Before you do it you should make a note of your Superduper registration number in case you have to download it again.

How to get a thread dump, in case of an IDE freeze

When you're working with the IDE and if it either freezes or becomes sluggish for no apparent reason, it's recommended to generate a thread dump, and report it to Studio feedback alias ([email protected]) with a description of what happened and attach the dump to it.
A thread dump is an invaluable source of information to IDE developers when investigating deadlocks and some performance issues. It is a textual dump of all active threads and monitors of Java apps running in a Virtual Machine.
The ways to generate a thread dump differ depending on the platform:
* Windows systems
Press Ctrl-Break in the command console you used to start the IDE.
You won't be able to see the console in case you started the IDE using the default desktop icon created by the IDE installer. To be able to generate the thread dump, you must launch the IDE using a console window (invoke Command Prompt, go to {studio-install-dir}/bin and type runide.exe), or configure the desktop shortcut properties to launch the runide.exe program instead of the default runidew.exe.
Note: You should increase the screen buffer size of the command prompt, so that it could retian the entire thread dump output. To do that, on the command prompt where IDE is running, open the properties dialog box by right clicking on the titlebar and selecting 'properties'. Then select the 'layout tab' and increase the 'screen buffer size' parameters to - width - 200, Height - 4000.

Alternatively, you can also generate a thread dump by sending the QUIT signal to the Java VM running the JSE

I have successfully installed a ECC 6.0 server-ABAP +JAVA system (DB2 v9.5 FP4 windows server 2008-x64 bit).
Kernel: 700 , Patch: 185 ; SP level : rel 700 , level 17
I upgraded JSPM sucessfully from 14 to 17.Then i was trying to apply JAVA sp's one by one using single sp option JSPM tool.
I DEPLOYED the first sp component sucesfully but after that the next component gave warning in JSPM check that SDM is not started.
I checked MMC.Dispatcher was YELLOW and J2EE status info unavailable. Cannot use JCMON to start SDM..option 20 gives error--cannot access shared memory

Can we get data from business views in CR 2008/XI?

Hi All,
Can we get data from business views in CR 2008/XI?
If its possible, pls let us know how to get connect with Business View in both of these versions and what is the tool that we have to use to create Business Views.

Hi Krishna,
Crystal Reports/BusinessObjects Enterprise ( BOE ) Business Views can only be created using the BV build which comes with BOE and installed using the Work Station installer for BOE. for both XI and 2008.
You cannot mix these two versions on the same PC not can one talk to the other, the BV designer must match the same version as BOE. XI ( version 11.0 ) is no longer available but if you mean XI R2 ( version 11.5 ) then it still is.
It's not completely clear which Business View you are referring to? BOE has a Business View Designer so not sure if this is just a naming problem or not? If you are referring to the BOE Business View Designer then the above is true. If your reference is about some other BV designer or data source then you need to clarify.

Values not getting displayed from first page of the report.

Values in the report is getting displayed from second page.
First page in the report only displaying the report title and column names.
Secone page onwards, data and column names are generated.

How to get data from hard drive in dead iMac?

I have an old slot-loading iMac (350Mhz G3 blueberry) that just died, probably a dead power supply or something. Won't turn on at all. I don't care about restoring it, I just want to take the hard drive out and grab data from it. I've found instructions for removing the HD ... but any tips on the best/cheapest way to hook it up to get data from it? It's EIDE I believe from what I've read so far. Thanks for any help.

Hey Richard.....Thanks for the reply to my question about my wife's dead iMac.....
Her iMac had been acting up lately, mostly to do with her Outlook Express freezing up in OS9. I dunno if OS9 was freezing or if the application was failing. Regardless, I would have to quit OS9, restart Outlook which at the same time restarted OS9. All would be fine for a while, a day or two and then the scene would repeat itself. But I think that issue is separate from the iMac being "dead". Often we have power outages in the area, more than we should. I had the iMac plugged into a battery backup, some APS product I think it is. I believe it is only good for less than an hour as we have other devices drawing on it too. Most of our power outages are of short duration, just enough to be aggravating, sometimes having to reset clocks, etc...And a couple times, I would have to reset the time and date on the iMac so this told me that the PRAM battery was below minimum voltage. But the iMac would ALWAYS restart, even with the low battery. But the most recent outage, about one hour duration, did in the iMac, somehow or other. I do believe the battery backup basically fully discharged. So I removed the battery, could not find a new battery locally so I drove to the big city and paid the local Apple service dealer a visit. I got ripped big time price wise, embarrassed to say. So I get home, put the battery in the holder, depressed the CMU reset, the powerbutton illuminated as did a green LED by the memory modules for less than three seconds and then quit. I also heard the HD trying to spin up and a high voltage THUMP which I assume is the CRT trying to ignite. If I unplugged the iMac, removed the battery, plug in the power again and hit the power button, the iMac would repeat the same short on period and then quit. So it did not seem to make any difference if there was a battery in place. I read somewhere to pull the battery, pull the AC cord, hold down the power button to dump any current (?) and let the unit sit for 24hrs. After that length of time, I was supposed to replace the battery, depress the CMU reset, wait ten seconds and then feed it AC. Well, when I pressed the power button, I heard life for maybe five seconds, maybe a second longer, then a beep and then it shut down. I pulled the AC cord, pulled the battery, re-inserted the battery, depressed the CMU reset, waited a few seconds, plugged in the AC cord, depressed the power button and I am back at the under three seconds of "power-up" and then nothing, dead, no beep, nothing. I think maybe it is a waste of time trying to mess with this unit, looking for a newer iMac on eBay, the snowball series with the 17" LCD, might be time better spent. Hate throwing stuff away, that's why I am up to my ears in junk, maybe u know that scenario. The wife likes my 19" ACER LCD screen, hooked up to this old dual 800mhz, though she dislikes the noise and the tower. But we both agree the large LCD screen is much easier on our aging eyes than the old iMac CRT. Anyway, I appreciate your help, always GREAT to correspond with an Apple fan.....John Bauer

Rich text box used in Infopath Form not displaying option to get images from Computer

Hello,
We have used "Rich text box" in Infopath Form which is not displaying option to get images from Computer.
Options available are : From Address, From SharePoint
But if we Rich text box in list, then it works fine with "From Computer" option.
can you please help me out to get this option.

Hi,
From your description, there is no “From Computer” option to get images with rich text box in InfoPath form.
Per my knowledge, by design there are “From Address” and “From SharePoint” options without “From Computer” option in rich text box in InfoPath form. As a workaround, you can develop a custom InfoPath Rich Text box to do it.
About developing a custom InfoPath control, I suggest you create a new thread on the forum “Visual Studio Tools for Office”, more experts will assist you with InfoPath development.

Over a week ago I updated my computer to Firefox 4.0. Since then my computer is very slow accessing the internet, websites and getting information from within a website. Also, a tool bar has shown up for YAHOO which I did not request. The old detailed tool bar for Firefox has disappeared. All that now shows for Firefox is the area to enter website urls and an area to enter topic for a Google Search.
Many times I have to exit Firefox and re-enter it later to access the internet.
Please advice what I need to do to get back to the speed I had with the older version of Firefox.

To resolve this, you need to reconfigure the "Oracle Application Testing Suite Helper Service" (OATSHelperSvr) to start as a user who has privledges to run open script tests rather than the default SYSTEM user.
Reconfiguring the OATSHelperSvr Service:
1. Open the services panel (Start > Run > services.msc)
2. Find the Oracle Application Testing Suite Helper Service
3. Right Click > Properties then select the Log On Tab
4. Specify an interactive user that has rights to run OpenScript (test by logging in as that user and running tests):
5. Click OK
6. Restart the service after dialogs are closed by Right Click > Restart
7. You should now repeat this process for the "Oracle Application Testing Suite Agent Service" (eLoadAgentMon) Service (Two services in
total)
You should now retry running the test in Oracle Test Manager

Using Calendar client version 4.6 on Unix to connect to Calendar Server 4.0, I get a core dump and the client does not launch

I am using Communicator Pro with Enterprise Calendaring, Calendar client 4.6,
and when I attempt to launch it I immediately get a core dump and it does not
launch.

The 4.6 motif client is not able to run against the 4.0 Calendar Server.
It is strongly recommended that you use the 4.61 motif Calendar client (bundled with the 4.7
Communicator Pro release) or 4.51/4.52 against Calendar Server 4.0. There are
known problems when going offline while using the 4.5 client on any platform
against the 4.0 Server. Both the 4.51 Windows and the 4.52 motif clients have
repaired this problem.
