Tracking of end product

Hi,
My client has this requirement and client is a chemical industry.
Production has been happened for a end product throgh a batch ( Batch Managemnt has been active)
Say 1000 liters has been produced and it will be blended and packed in 200 tins of 5 lites. Those thins will be packed in boxes and delivered to distributor.
Client wants any kind of tracking for these 200 tins from production when production confirmation has happened.
The listed scenarios are there where this tracking will be placed.Client is using warehouse Management and all these scenarios are WM intergrated
1. Goods receipt from Production order and put away to Warehouse.
2. Bin to Bin transfer for these tins.
3. Picking for delivery
4. Goods receipt on Stock Transfer Order
5. Inventory
6. Customer Return
Can we go for Batch managemnt to track the end product?
Can we track through serial number?
Can we use Handling Unit with serial number to track these tins?
Can we use Batch adn serial number to track these?
Please put your valuable suggestions to resolve this issue?

This is what i am looking for.
Message received or Trigger started from biz talk Receive location name , its receive date time, File Name, then if the message flows through MAP, Orchestration or Send port then its success or failure status with date time.All these report we have to extract
daily that will provide us success vs failure ratio , top failing interfaces, opportunity of failure etc. I did some bing and got DTA query that i can get received side of this story but i can not link the same instance with its subscribers to get other
details.

Hi, Please use the exit to define how you want the system to consider Scrap in the subcontracting process.
Refer below exit for your problem,
1084323 USER-EXIT to update challan status if scrap is calculated
1103537 Correction to note 1084323 for ECC 6.0 Release
Please note the user exit will be accessed only if you were to write a code for it and you assigned/made 545 O as relevant to subcontracting
subcontracting scrap will work if the scrap percentage is defined for the component which is sent to the job worker. If you have a completely new material for scrap then this is not going to work as the system will never be able to assign the qty (mismatch of material code between the scrap material & the challan material).

Costing when end product not known

Hi
We are unable to identify which finished product we are manufacturing and we are consuming the raw materials.Only after end product is manufactured we are posting raw material consumption.Period end this is creating a problem since the end product some times finishes after 15 days and already actual raw material consumption happened previous period.How to tackle?

Hi,
You need to follow the process flow. For each and every production orders you need to issue the goods before starting the production and need to do the confirmation and need to do the goods receipt.
You need to follow this discipline unless you will not get any accurate reports.

There are many a thousands of people who are producingvideos on completed DVDs. As an amateur videographer using iMovie first nowusing Final Cut pro to produce completed ready to distribute DVDs, I find ithard to believe at the meeting you mentioned anyone with common sense wouldhave explained the scenario above. I have 4 latest Macs All have iDVD. The question was not where to get iDVD.
The question for anyone who knows is: Since apple has extinguished iDVD Are there any other Software programs that can produce the end product iDVD did?
I appreciate your input but it realy does not answer the question. iDVD will soon not be able to work with newer versions of Macs as it has been left behind by Apple!

Happy with My Cloud but dead end product?

I'm mostly happy with the 4t my cloud that I've had for less than a year. Its reliable. I bought it to not only be a media server but get me out of using dropbox, onedrive etc. The problem is that its advertised as such( a cloud replacement) but Wd implementation of these features is lacking. Ive had to make do with cumbersome workarounds.Recently I was emailed a survey from Wd about experiences with the my cloud and what features I like or feel are missing. It sure got my hopes up that some new features would be coming soon. Now however I see all these updates going on with the Mirror and other devices from Wd including Plex and even a dropbox app, but nothing for the basic mycloud! Did I buy a dead end product that wd has no hope of updating?

Manufacturers (or software companies) may fix certain errors with their products but they rarely add new features to that product. If you were expecting the product to do something that it doesn't, or you need some feature it doesn't support out of the box, then you purchased the wrong product. The Mirror is a completely separate device designed to meet a (slightly) different market need than the WD My Cloud. There very well could be reasons, like due to the processor used on the WD My Cloud or other hardware limitations, why they have not bother to add "features" like Plex or Dropbox to the WD My Cloud Firmware. Or its possible they'd rather not take sales away from another WD product that does support Plex or Dropbox. The WD My Cloud is a relatively low cost product designed to do one or two specific tasks (NAS and DLNA) and it generally accomplishes those tasks. As evidenced by the posts in this forum there are addional features one can add by hacking their WD My Cloud. And other companies such as Silicondust (HDHomeRun) apparently will have modules that can be added to the WD My Cloud to add new features. Plex or Dropbox could choose to add their functionality to the base WD My Cloud devices but apparently have chosen not to. If one takes note of the Plex NAS Compatibility document they'd see that while certain more advanced WD My Cloud devices (like the Mirror) are supported all of them either do not support video transcoding or one or two models (because of the processor used) might support only 720p video transcoding. The ability to transcode video is a major feature of Plex. WIthout it, the software looses much of its usefullnes (at least for me). It, again for me, becomes just another glorified UI interface for a media server with some nice features. There are a whole host of features I'd love to see WD fix or add to the WD My Cloud UI and the various WD apps (Smartware, WD Photo, WD My Cloud Desktop, etc) to enhance the usability of the WD My Cloud and give the end user much more control over the shared folders and Twonky media server. For example, the simple fact that there is no sublevel "share" folder control through the UI is mind boggling to down right stupid. But the fact remains that for a basic low cost NAS and DLNA media server, the WD My Cloud probably works just fine for most people.

How track changes in production order which is already Read PP master data

Hi Gurus,
Due to some unavoidable reason my client has to do Read PP master data time and again, now my client having a requirement that want to see what has been changes in Production Order.
We already created 1 report for that which tracks whatever has been changed in Production Order but having a constraint in it. That It could not be able to distinguish to which order READ PP MASTER DATA done.
So my query is how to map that in report. As sytem Status directly changed to CRTD phase.
Any table which can track the changes once the order been through with READ PP MASTER DATA?
As there are huge number of Production Order so we can go and open each order to see the Status changes in each and every order.

A suggestion:
Change the specification as, log changes at each save instead of Read PP Master Data, as the changes would become effective only upon save. So if this is acceptable then 2 options, 1. Go with OCM feature or 2. Refer note - 390635
Revert if you face any issues.

How to track costing in Production order

Hello Everyone
I would like to get some details about how to set the product costs for Finished Goods and also how to track the expenses like packaging, labor, electricity, other charges etc, for individual production order.
I have created the labor and packaging as a non inventory item and have used it in the BOM, now after the production order is closed, i find these two costs to be in the Actual Additional costs as shown below, till this is great.
But the requirement was, when they want to view the expenses or a month, then they require individual split up of costs against each production order. Is this even feasible?
Please require help from you guys.

Product Costing
The cost of a FIFO or moving-average product is the sum of its component costs and additional costs (such as labor and overhead). To ensure accurate calculations of product cost, even if the components were issued manually, SAP Business One uses the cost of the items issued to production order and not the cost of the items currently in inventory. This avoids differences between the actual cost of components used in the order and the value of the product.
Note
The cost calculation method described here is relevant only for standard and special production orders, but not for disassembly for companies managing perpetual inventory.
In the case of disassembly the components enter the inventory with the same cost as the items currently there. If the component is managed by FIFO, the cost of the oldest layer is used.
The cost of returned components does not change; it is the cost of the last one that was issued.
The product cost calculation is determined by the item management method.
Standard – When the product is managed by standard cost, no calculation is made, and the cost is copied from the item master data upon report completion.
Moving Average – When the product is managed by moving average, two figures are required for product receipt into inventory: receipt quantity and total value added to the inventory. The total value is the product cost, which is the sum of all component costs used for those products.
FIFO – When the product is managed by FIFO, each report completion opens a new cost layer for the product in the inventory. The quantity in the layer is the quantity of the products just reported as completed. The cost of the products is the sum of all component costs used for the completed products divided by the quantity of the products.
On every report completion, the system checks the following three quantities for each manually issued component:
Issued Quantity – The quantity already issued to the production order.
Used Quantity – The quantity already used for the completed products (completed products multiplied by the base quantity of the component).
Needed Quantity – The quantity needed for the products that were just reported as completed (quantity of products reported as completed multiplied by the base quantity of the component).
If the Used Quantity is greater than or equal to the Issued Quantity, this means that all items issued for the production order have already been used, and the Needed Quantity is yet to be reported as issued from the warehouse. Since the cost of the items that were actually used for the products is unknown, SAP Business One takes the current prices from the inventory.
If the Issued Quantity is greater than the Used Quantity, SAP Business One finds the cost of the components that were issued and not used, and uses them in the calculation of the product cost. When finding those components, the issuing order of the components is taken into account, meaning that the first components to be issued are the first to be used. The components following those that were used are the first to be used for the cost calculation.
If the sum of Needed Quantity and Used Quantity is greater than the Issued Quantity, meaning that not all needed quantity was issued, SAP Business One needs to make an assumption for those items’ costs, so it takes the current prices from the inventory.
Upon the completion of a production order, on the Production Order Window: Summary Tab, you can check the product cost figures of the production order.

Best format for end product

I just bought a Vixia HF R 42 to shoot a company video. The finished product must be 1280 x 720 pixels; Aspect Ratio 16:9 and exported as mp4 or MOV. I'll be using Premiere Pro to edit. What is the best format (AVCHD vs. MP4) and video quality setting to use considering what the end specifications must be? What setting do I use to get the 16:9 aspect ratio? Thank you so much for your help.

AVCHD is less compressed than MP4, so shooting in AVCHD at 60p will offer you the best overall quality. Premiere Pro should work fine with it as well. Keep in mind though, you will want to transfer the entire folder from the card in the camcorder over to your computer, then import from there.

Track Requests in Production System

I'm trying to find a way to get all requests that were transported to production system in a particular date.

I was looking in 'E070' tables group but it's seems like none of them return what I want.

Requirement specs for high-res end product

I am producing a short corporate in Premiere Elements 8 using a combination of an existing MPEG and a series of JPEGs. I have only ever produced videos for the web before, but the the finished product will be projected onto a large screen. I would like to avoid pixellation as much as possible. Could anyone advise me as to what the best input and output settings would be for this?

Exactly how will the signal be fed to the projector, i.e. from a DVD-Video in a DVD player, through a laptop, etc.? Will you have to provide the AV file to a laptop, other than one that you use, such as an unknown laptop at a conference?
The exact delivery scheme and the mechanics of this can dictate a lot. That, and the questions that Neale asked. If your MPEG is say DVD-Video resolution, there is nothing to be gained by going HD, as it will be SD and will determine the resultant quality. It will also dictate your Project Preset. You can then Scale your JPEG's to match that.

Premiere Elements 13 (not Pro), recorded a video with mono mic input (left channel only), need to create 2-channel (left and right) audio track for finished product. Help?

The question says it all. I have been all over the tutorials as well as the menus inside Premiere 13 and cannot find how to edit the audio track beyond basic balance, volume, etc.
I can see the Audio 1 track, shows audio in left channel only, but it will not respond to attempts to select, cut/copy, paste, etc.
Basically I just want to turn one-channel audio into two-channel audio.

Fill Left, Fill Right
The Fill Left effect duplicates the left channel information of the audio clip and places it in the right channel, discarding the original clip’s right channel information. The Fill Right effect duplicates the right channel information and places it in the left channel, discarding the existing left channel information. For example, you might use this effect on footage shot with a monaural microphone plugged into only one channel of a camcorder, extending the voice of a speaker from one channel to both.
From what you wrote, your Premiere Pro video seems to be saying the same.
If that Premiere Elements Fill Left or Fill Right is no go, you might want to explore what you can do in this regard using the free audio editor Audacity.

And, then import the Audacity edited audio back into Premiere Elements project as source media.
Is the speaker system OK?

To keep track of the Product sent for Exhibition sales.

Hi friends,
I want to keep the track of the machines sent for exhibition sales. As our company participates in the exhibition held at different places in India. The machines will be part of our own stock until they is sold or may come back to us if not sold.
1. we need to know the stock sent against this sales at any point in time.Against which reference we have to issue the materials
2. As the machines are sent outside our company excise comes into picture. so how to map this in SAP.
3. If they return back with what reference we have receive and post the excise.

Consignment process will be most suitable to this scenario,
1. Create a customer (sold to) with the exhibition venue
2. Create consignment fill-up to this sold to, thus the machines will be always in your company stock
3. When a sales takes place, change the ship to, bill to and payer to the actual customer
4. This will create a consignment issue order
5. It will reduce stock and will create accounting entries
6. Bill the customer
7. Once exhibition is over, then follow the consignment return and consignment pick-up process to get the stock back

Help! Individual tracks somehow ended up in trash!

I just went to work on a song I recorded a few months back. I recorded a new vocal the other day. Tonight I went to do more work on it and found 18 aiff files from that song in the "trash." I don't know how they got there, maybe a mistake I made the last time I worked on the song. Only a few of the tracks play, it's all messed up now. I tried dragging the aiff files from the trash to try to re-construct the song. Didn't work. I spent a lot of time with this song and don't want to start it all over. Can anyone help me? I'm desperate. I hope the answer to this is simple!

Hang- I figured something out at least. Before your suggestion I went to the song's workpage. I played the song and unlocked each "muted" track or track which I thought was trashed. The tracks, one by one, reappeared! I feel both stupid, puzzled, and proud at the same time. Never thought it was possible. But I'm going to copy your advice and throw it in a folder for future reference in case any other strange occurrences happen. Thank you sir. I think I can repair this thing now. Thinking back I believe I trashed the original mix of the song, which I had long ago shared to ITunes, and dumped it from ITunes into the trash. What a fool.

Job work end product

Dear experts
we received the raw materials as UNBW material for subcontract work. I have to send the final product to the vendor by sales route. For this I have to create material master to this final product as either FERT or UNBW material?

When you are doing a Job Work it ois a service sale...no need to have material code for this...if you have taken UNBW material against 501 movement type...while issuing the service sale invoice to 502 movement type to give effect to inventory.
