Tooling cost in PO

Hi all,
Tooling cost is added as a new line item after PO line items in ME21N. i just want to distinguish this Tooling Item from other Item.
How i can achieve this ?
Thanks
pabi

hi
how you are taking tooling cost in PO ????
there willl be 2 ways
1 create service order for the tool cost or create new line item as service with acct assgnment K and item cat D
2 create new condition for tool cost in schema so that it will be updated in master only(condition will be coppy of freight condition so that it can be payable different vendor also and accounting also can be done separately )

  • Include Tool cost in Standard cost of material

    Hi
I have a scenario  where we use  consumable tools in manufacturing the end product , which is 'nut'. We use roughly 80 tools in the manufacturing process. Each tool has its life. For eg. Tool A will be used to manufacture 10,000,000 nuts. The production lot size is usually 900,000 and the tool will be used for more than10 production orders.
Since the tool is being reused for various production orders, i have problems in bringing its cost. I cannot give 0.1 pc as the unit of measure for tool is per piece. If i give 1 piece, since its being reused, the cost will not be accurate and there will be huge variance.
Any ideas on how to deal with this?
    Thanks

    Hi,
is there an operation for tool usage within the production order where time confirmation happens?
And correlates the tool usage with the time confirmed?
If yes, post the tool consumption to the cost center that is a assigned to the work center that is used in this operation and in the cost center (plan) activity rate cover the tool cost overall.
Result: Each time confirmation valuated with the activity rate contains a portion of tool cost.

  • Tool cost amortisation

    hi friends,
    i have following query,
we are into auto component manufacturing and get tool cost amortised as part of selling price, ( Sale price is inflated till tool cost is recovered)  and tool has specific life of some quantity.
We want to map as follows
Sale proceeds consists of sale price and tool cost
tool cost paid to vendors of in house is capitalised
Depreciation is @ standard rate, where as actually tools get scrapped in lesser period
my question is how to capitalise the tools and write off the same through amortisation.
    Milind

    Hi,
Using o/h accounting you can book the cost to the Tools.
In pricing you may try condition types to amortise.
    hope this helps.

  • Tool cost ammortize in component price

    Hi All,
We have a case where component price is Re 1 per pc. Tool Cost is Rs 5000.00 and  we have to ammortize the tool cost in 5000 Pcs of supply. After completion of 5000 Pcs Goods Receipt, system should change the price to Re 1.00.
How can we proceed, there is no facility in info record where we can maintain GR Qty 5000 Rate 2.00 and after that Re 1.00.
    Please help.
    Regards
    Rajeev Gupta

    Hi Rajiv
Tool amortization cost is the cost to be distributed to the material and has to be the part of material accessible value. To do that create a condition type in your regular calculation schema this you can do by copying a frieght condition type and set the controlling functionalities of this condition type as per your business needs. In this condition type try to assign subtotal 4, 6 etc..as you wish. Now go to your tax procedure in that for Base value condition type assign a routine 362. This is the standard routine. Here you bring the value of subtotal as a addition or subtraction as per your requirement. This you could do with a help of an abaper.
    Reward if useful.

  • Tool cost capturing and calibration of tool:

Hi, to capture tool cost, we defined tool as fhmi material type and included in bom. Accordingly it is issued to production (thru alternate unit) and tool cost is collected in production order.  Now we need to do calibration also for that tool. To do calibration we need to define that tool as equipment as standard practice. What we feel that we are duplicating the data by doing that. Please advise is there any method to eliminate data duplication and to work with product costing as well as calibration. Please advise.

    Dear,
Generally tooling cost will be obsorbed through overhead charges for a cost center. So best way go with overhead cost for PRT. And define it as equipemt PRT.

  • Tool cost

    Dear Gurus,
Here is my scenario. While doing a production of a Product, i want to load Tool cost on that product based on the yield.
with the help of activity i am planning to load this cost. But my problem is not a single tool using to make that product. There are 3 to 5 tools are using to make that product and the cost of that tools are not similar means suppost if i use Tool-1 then Rs.1/- per unit to be load on Prodction order, if Tool- 2 i used Rs.5/- to be loaded.like that...
Pls through some light on this issue..
    Advance Thanks,
    Janardhan.

    Hi Janardhan
You can have different activity types for different tools and all the activity types linked to one cost center.
    thanks

  • Excise duties for tooling amortization

    Dear All,
Our customer paid the tooling amortization amount initially.
We used to send the seperate invoice for this tooling amount.
    Here a doubt arises.
For this scenario, do we have excise values (BED, ECS, SECESS)?
    Could someone confirm?
    Regards,
    Mullairaja

As per Central Excise regulations, if you are adding any tool cost over and above the selling rate, that should be identified clearly.  This means, if you add the tool cost over selling rate, a text should flow in billing document stating "An amount of xxxxxxx is recovered as a tool cost.
If you show the amount separately as I said earlier by way of a condition type, your ABAPer's job is easy by fetching that condition type value in output.
Nevertheless, you add the tool cost or show separately, it should be accounted and showed to Excise authorities clearly.
Better ask the client to check with their Excise Range Office and sought their opinion.
    thanks

  • Poor Lightroom 5.7 Performance when using part repair tool

    Hi Lightroom pros,
I'm using Lightroom 5.7 for about half a year and are very happy with it. Unless I'm working on photos where I have to use the part repairt tool to much.
I'm specialized in car photograpy and often have to remove dust from the cars paint work and chrome. When I have to work on hughe areas Lightroom becomes slower and slower. I read that the repair tool costs a lot of performance but I'm wondering if I could optimize something or if there is a workaround for that? Because right now its not usable doing one click and waiting 2 minutes...
I'm using the newest Lightroom 64-bit version on a Windows 8.1 Enterprise 64-bit Laptop with an internal SSD drive. LR is installed on that drive and the Catalogue also is stored there. I have 70 GB of free space on that drive, my catalogue is around 5 GB, my Camera Raw Cache Size is 20 GB.
The machine has 16 GB of RAM and an Intel Core i7 3 GHz Quadcore processor. My RAW files are stored on an external USB 3.0 Drive (not SSD).
When working on that kind of picutres I usually close as much programms as possible, so that most of the time LR is the only working desktop programm. What seems strange to me is, that even if I'm waiting for minutes for LR to answer, that my processor and RAM are only using about 40% of it's power. The rest seems not to be used by LR?!
I would be really thankful for tipps or ideas how to improve that issue because right now I'm really wasting a lot of time.
    Kind regards
    Torsten

I guess this depends on what you are doing, what type of original files you are using, and your own perception of quality. I would believe that in most cases, if you do all the editing in LR except for the spot removal, get the photo to appear the way you want (except for the spot removal), and then lastly move it to PSE and remove the spots, that there isn't really any noticeable loss of quality.
I must admit I'm not a pro concerning color managment. But I already downloaded the PSE testversion and realized that it is not capable to deal with 16-bit color depth. Wouldn't that be noticeable after the finale spot removal step?
So, you should tell Adobe this, not me. This is a forum for users (like me) to help other users (like you).
I know. I just wanted to emphasize why switching to PS wouldn't be the perfect solution for me (even if I'm considering it).
    Thanks so far!

  • Drawing tool behaviour in Flash CC

    Hello,
I'm using Flash for about 10 years now, and recently use the new flash CC for my new projects.
I'm really disappointed with the new drawing tool. I mean, the new behaviour of the old brush tool.
What did you do to it ? it has always been hard to get the 'what you draw is what you get', with flash.
But now with that new version, it became almost impossible to draw correctly.
    The strokes are awful.
And, worst, the behaviour of the arrow, when you want to adjust your splines, is also unpredictable, and unusable !
I'm not talking about the drawings you get when you draw inside a symbol which is rotated. If you never try it, just do it, you'll laugh... For such a professional tool, costing several hundred of dollars, I don't understand why you cannot rotate and draw in the symbol, and why, after so many years you never find a fix for that...
Why did you destroy that tool ???
And is it possible to get back the old drawing engine, maybe with an extension, or a fix ?
    Thank you for your attention,
    - hope I'll not have to force the studio switching to Toon Boom Harmony...

I know that you can change the overall width with the stroke.  I am missing the width tool.
    I am missing this. . .

  • CST and VAT calculation is wrong for Tool amortisation PO

    Hi,
We have tool amortization process in out company.
Vendor develops tool for us and same will be amortized for each part paying addionally some amount other than material cost ( Condition type ZAMT).
Excise duties to be calculated for tool cost also. But not VAT or CST.
Now issue is  tool amortization cost is calculated for excise duties ( Base price and ZAMT price ) which is correct.
When we calculate the CST/VAT it considers tool amortization cost also for basic price due to this we need to pay additional VAT or CST .
Is there any provision can be made in MM pricing procedure for ZAMT or in TAXINN for VAT/CST to exclude tool amortization cost.
    Please reply
    Guru

Have your pricing procedure as follows:-
    100::::PR00::::::Base Price
    110::::ZAMT:::::Tool Cost:::::::::::::100
    120:::::::::::::::Total for ED:::::::::::100::::110
    130::::ZVAT:::::VAT on Base Price::::100
    140::::ZCST:::::CST on Base Price::::100

  • Choosing the best BPM tool

    Hello,
We are a small size pharmaceutical company with an existing SAP ECC 6.0 installation. Currently we do not have any BPM system. We are looking for the best possible BPM tool (cost considerations exist) that will
    - automatically create some graphical business process documentation using our live SAP system data
    - supports an eEPC or BPMN based documentation option that is managable by a team
    - is user friendly enough so that business and IT would want to cooperate using this tool when designing processes.
Any viewpoint on the right tool? We only know Intellicorp's LiveModel + LiveCompare so far. We like it but want to hear about alternatives.
    Regards,
    Hakan

You might like to search SAP's EcoHub for BPM tools.  This link should produce a number of results:

  • Differences between 7 and 8 for long books

I am considering FM 7 and 8 for producing a long book.  The issue with 8 is that it requires SP2 on XP, and I can't put that on my writing system.
So that would favour 7 unless its features are noticably lacking compared to 8.  Here are the book requirements, please read carefully --
    * There are 4 parallel columns spread across 2 facing pages -- each column has its own text, layout, font and size, different from texts in other columns.
    * All 4 columns in the spread (2 on even pages, 2 on odd pages) must retain their positions on the spread, no matter which page of the book you turn to.
    * There is absolutely no left to right wrapping of columns in a parallel column layout.  This means all columns flow down - even to even, and odd to odd.
    * This page flow must be automatic -- I am simply NOT going to draw frames for all pages and manually link them across a 400 page book, it is absurd.
I need to know which one of 7 or 8 supports automatic wrapping of 2 columns on even pages to the next even page, and the two columns on the right odd pages to the next odd page (if you don't understand this requisite column flow, please leave it for other to reply who do -- thank you).  If both FM 7 and 8 are more or less the same, that would be very helpful information too.  Please give compative capabilities as it relates to parallel book columns.
BTW, another really crucial feature is being able to manually set a FIXED line height in each column -- not in point size, like InDesign does (that does not work for precise alignment) -- I should be able to specify the line height in each column in decimals of an inch.  Which one can do this?
Your help on these specific questions is much appreciated.  Please no discussion of FM 9.  I will not be getting that version.  Thanks

    ScratchyBoy wrote:
    Mike --
That weird work-around is indecipherable to me (column less than a character width??) -- would you care to explain it in the context of this thread?
I noticed that Arnis has already explained the reason for using a tiny frame in each thread to carry the flow across pages where you don't want to display that content.
The reason Jay posted that is because he was on my question in InDesign, realized the serious failing of InDesign to handle a 2-page spread of parallel columns, and obviously wanted to see if FM could do it.  He did a book in FM with only 2 columns, hence the "entrenched" concept of even-to-odd page flow worked fine for him.
You know, I have personally read 100+ books with 4 parallel texts like I am describing, and I am sure there are thousands of ones I haven't read with a similar layout.  It takes scarcely 2 seconds to realize, looking at the 2 page spread, that even page columns MUST wrap to even page columns, and odd to odd.  It's not an "unusual, special" request, it is a NECESSARY REQUIREMENT of 4 parallel columns spread across facing pages.  Surely you can see that?  But it seems that Adobe developers either never read any scholarly texts, or they just don't understand parallel texts -- period.
Have you contacted the folks who created the books you're referring to, to learn what tools they used for the books? Just seeing the final print version, or even the PDF, can't reveal the underlying construction.
Maybe the truth came out in that thread.  Framemaker, as it was originally conceived by the original developers, DID allow correct page flow for parallel columns -- but once Adobe got it, they killed that ability, dumbing it down to InDesign's level, which cannot do it.  Peter so much as admitted to that fact on that thread, that somewhere in the versions, this feature was killed.  Which confirms the above paragraph.
Winfried Ring responded to my question about the feature not working in later FrameMaker releases, in that other thread, that the technique still works in later FrameMaker releases. The key, Winfried pointed out, is to begin the document with one body page, regardless of whether it's a single-page or facing-page layout. This keeps FrameMaker from getting confused about where the flows should go on the new pages it creates as any of the flows grows to the point that it creates a new page.
I think you're trying to imagine how these techniques will work, rather than trying them out hands-on. I've done that myself; it's a good learning style for some things, but in this particular case, you need the empirical experience of seeing how the software's built-in mechanisms behave. Until and unless you do it and gain the experience, you can't imagine, project, empathize, conjure, or visualize how these things work. You do have a clear vision of what you want for the end result, however.
In FrameMaker, as in InDesign, as in PageMaker, as in QuarkXpress, you draw text frames on document pages, or on master pages, using a text frame tool. It's named differently in each application.
The tools are for users to apply their vision and creativity, so if you need a certain kind of layout, you need to lay it out yourself. If your particular layout were common, there would very likely be at least one template for available in each professional publishing tool's community.
Why should I even consider FM 9 ??  Adobe wants $1000 bucks for it -- they brag on its "improved features for book production".  What a laugh!  They can't even conceive of scholarly comparative books across a HUGE gamut of subject areas -- so why should I consider it ??  I'd love for someone to tell me: "YES !!  I am proud to announce that FrameMaker can do this natively out of the box !! "  But I don't see it coming, do you?
Professional tools cost huge money to develop. If you use them professionally, your work should bring in the revenue to pay for the tools.
As has been said by many posters on many threads in regards to most software, especially the professional tools, it's very unlikely that you'll find a legitimate copy of a past version for sale. The older the version, the less likely there will be a legit copy on some dealer's shelf that pops up, and is put on eBay for a song. It's illegal to sell old versions that one uses to upgrade to a new version. You'll not be able to register the license; in recent versions of Adobe products, you won't be able to use the software at all after the trial period expires, without a valid license.
Using a license cracking tool is also illegal.
It sounds as if  your hardware and Windows version limitations are constraining your software choices. It's a tough set of choices.
Oh, BTW, here's a link to a PDF of a FrameMaker example of what I think you're talking about:
    http://dl.dropbox.com/u/363247/fm%207X7%204-parallel%20flows%20across%20same-side%20pages. recover.pdf
    EDIT:
In the PDF, the small fragments of text are the "pass-through" threaded frames that Arnis described. They're larger than a single character, so you can see the text flow through; in real use, they should be teensy.
    /EDIT
It's trickier in InDesign because it's built-in ability to create new pages as stories grow is trick to accomplish the same behavior. The In-Tools plugin that was mentioned can do this.
If you're persnickety about typographic control, InDesign is the better tool. FrameMaker isn't a slouch, it's just that InDesign's been bred for the task.
Regarding lining up the text across columns, InDesign and FrameMaker both can control baseline alignment. You'll need to try out both tools to decide which works the way you need.
