TP3: Using PPR to auto populate 2nd component of PK

Hi All
I have a table with 2 attributes as part of a primary key. I have programmatically set the second attribute based on the first attribute value in the corresponding *RowImpl.java class. When executing via the Business Component Browser the second columns population works well. However when I add the view to the a page and set the appropriate AutoSubmit, PartialTriggers and Id values as per document B31973-01 (Web User Interface Developer’s Guide for Oracle Application
Development Framework) The Auto-population does not work. However the concept works well for target attributes that are 1) non-mandatory 2) not part of Primary key
I do believe there is a current problem with TP3 and PPR on mandatory fields, but is there a problem with auto populating via PPR on PK attributes ?
Is there a work around for this ?

Hi,
According to your post, my understanding is that you wanted to auto populate items when a specific field had been selected.
The easiest way is that you can use the lookup column to achieve it.
In the second list, you can create a lookup type field Control ID,
use the additional field, select the Title and Description in the first list.
Then when you select a ID from the first list, the Title and
Description would auto populate.
If you want to use the workflow, you can use the action Set Field in Current Item.
First, you also should create a lookup type column Control ID,
and set the Control ID as the Required.
Then create the workflow as below.
Then the Title and Desc field would auto populate the date from the first list.
Now you can create custom template to save the data to Word.

Using JavaScript to auto populate a field based on numeric value of a separate drop down field

Hello, I am trying to set up a simple, I hope, javascript which will enable to me auto populate one field based on the numberic value of another field using Acrobat Pro XI.
Essentially I have 2 drop down fields (we'll call them DD1 and DD2).
DD1 is the sum of 8 preceding drop down values. That sum can be anywhere from 0 - 40. Whatever that sum falls within a range which identifies a rating. The ratings and ranges are below:
0-8: Non-Performer
9-16: Low Performer
17-24: Performer
25-32: High Performer
33-40: Exceptional Performer
DD2 is where the rating ("non-performer", "low performer", etc.) will be captured. Instead of requiring the user to look at DD1, determine the value, and then identify and input the rating manually, I would like DD2 to auto populate the rating based on the value (sum) in DD1.
For example, if DD1 shows a value of 27 then DD2 would auto populate "High Performer". So how do I write this code or execute this? In excel I would use an if, then statement. Is there something similar in Acrobat Pro XI.
Any help is greatly appreciated. Thank you in advance.

Can I auto-populate fields in a pdf form based on responses in other fields (using Acrobat XI PRO)?

I am creating a fillable pdf form using Acrobat XI Pro and would like to be able to auto-populate text fields in one section of the form based on responses entered by respondents in an earlier section. Is this possible? If so, would it function for respondents using Adobe Reader to complete the form?

Thanks, George! In the form I am creating, I ask respondents to identify a number of organizations that they work with. For example, I ask "Please list up to ten organizations" and then I provide ten text boxes for organizations 1-10. I then ask a series of follow up questions (radio buttons, check boxes, and rating scales) about each organization. I would like to auto-populate the fields of those follow up questions with the names of the organizations that the respondents had written. Does that make sense? Will this require JavaScript? My hope is to avoid complicated scripts that may give respondents technical problems with the form. Thanks again,

Using a rule to auto-populate fields

I'm using InfoPath/SharePoint 2010.
I work for a law firm and I am designing an InfoPath form for a SharePoint portal. We have a database will a list of matter numbers and names. One of the fields is called, Matter number and the other, Matter name. I want users to be able to type
in the matter number, and have that number validated against the database to auto-populate the matter name in the matter name field. Does anyone know how I would be able to do that?

This would be done in InfoPath.
Click on your Matter Name field and then select properties. For default value, select the data source as your other data source and then highlight the Matter name field. Click filter data and use the form field for Matter number.

Using PPR without knowing component id?

Using Jdev 11.1.1.2.0
Using an af:iterator to dynamically lay out 1 - or more af:input fields.
Some of those fields are related. Eg. when F1 is updated F9 has to be updated as well.
In order to use PPR I have to know the id of each component. But since I can't programmatically state this - I don't know the id of eg. F1.
So; is there a way to Id the components, programmatically - or a way to identify (and get the id) of a specific component?

Once the component tree is build you can manipulate it in a bean.
What I don't understand is where do you hold the information about which field pprs an other field.
As far as I know you can't use EL on the id of a component, so you can't set it to something you'll remember later while iterating through your list.
You may be able to implement some logic if you know how the ids of the components are build while iterating. Use firebug and check the ids of the final page. You may get the info on how the ids are generated.

How do I set (or auto populate) the value of a modal dialog field using javascript?

I have a Modal Dialog on my SharePoint 2010 page the following fields: Your Name, Subject, Priority, Message.
It links to a list I have on the site. The second field, Subject, I want to auto populate it when the window opens, so the user can leave it as is or modify the subject. I want to set the field value using javascript.
I've tried setting the field with this code:
document.getElementById('Subject').value = "Test";
and also, this:
setFieldValue('Subject','My custom value');
Neither work.
How do I set the value of the subject field when the user first opens the dialog using javascript?

Auto-populate fields in Custom Object Based on Another Record

I am hoping to auto-populate a few default values in a new Custom Object record based on an associated Lead record. The layout is this:
I use the Lead record to take care of most of the information in the sales stages until the product is sold. The Lead record has fields to record information for a one product sale. The sales person can then use the Custom Object (called 'GX Additional Product') (which shows up in the Related Information section of the Lead record) to add additional items to a sales order request. Many of the fields in the GX Additional Product (custom object) record are identical to fields already filled out in the Lead record.
What I would like to do, is when a new GX Additional Product (custom object) is added to the Lead record, those identical fields already filled out in the Lead record, by default, populate the corresponding fields in the new GX Additional Product (custom object) record.
Is this possible? Is this something that can be done with JoinFieldValues? If so, I've had a bit of confusion trying to set up a JoinFieldValues expression.

You can use JoinFieldValue to Custom Objects from other entities, cause you will have other objects' ID recorded inside the CO's, when you open a new detail record associated with the parent. Make sure your custom object is showing as a detail section (N:1) into lead´s main page. Try with one field first, using the exact syntax provided at samples listed at product documentation.

PROBLEM WITH AUTO POPULATE IN THE GOOGLE SEARCH BOX

When I type in the google search box it auto populates search terms as it always has. However since upgrading to FF4 when I click on the one I want to go to ... nothing happens. I have to type the full search every time. I don't see this issue anywhere in the forum, am I the only one having this problem?

Auto-populate of SHELL_shellName_shell Upper form DE only functions in one single-instance project shell. The DE in the BP Upper Form needs to auto-populate in two separate single-instance shells. How can I get this DE to autopopulate in both?

The Unifier environment
contains two single-instance project shells, INF and PBS, and two multiple-instance child project shells, INFS and
PB. There is a single instance, non-workflow
business process, ‘Project Information’ that contains a data element in the
upper form definition, Project ID. The Project ID is set to auto-populate from the multi-instance “INFS”
project shell attribute, which is populated manually.
Issue: The auto-populate functionality for the
Project ID ‘Shell_shellName_shell’ data element within the single-instance
Project Information BP only functions within one of the shells, either
INFS or PB, but not both. The INF and INFS shells are currently deployed
to production, PB and PBS shell are not.
It is critical that Project ID ‘Shell_shellname_shell’ data element is populated correctly in the
Project Information upper form of both shells, INFS and PB,
because that data element is referenced by multiple business processes and
integrations.
The attribute form definitions for both single and multiple instance project shells are identical. The Project ID utilizes the same data
element ‘SHELL_shellName_shell’ as is defined in both shell attribute forms
(INFS and PB).
The data definition source is a Unifier system-level variable, SYS Shell
Name (String, 128, Text Box)
Potential Solutions:
1. Create a Project ID DE of another data type which can
be successfully auto-populated from either shell. Drawback: all BPs and integrations which
reference Shell_Shellname_shell will need to be rewritten.
2. Investigate converting the Project Information single-instance
to a multi-instance BP, and create a
separate instance for each single-instance shell type. Same Drawback as Option #1, but with additional
rework. Most likely Project Information
would have to be recreated as a new BP.
Not sure that this option would even work.
3. Create a separate Project Information BP for PB. Drawback: Two separate BPs for Project Information would
need to be created. All existing BPs
refer to Project Information, so this option could potentially invalidate the
ability to use the existing BPs in the PB shell.

Was it really necessary to post the whole API description?!?
Locale[] locales = Locale.ENGLISH();ENGLISH is not a method in class Locale, so do not add the braces "( );".
Also, the constant ENGLISH is not an array, but just a single Locale object.
You didn't say what your problem was. What do you want to achieve with your program and what is it that you don't understand?

Always mention your JDev version.
The valueChangeListener would fire only when you set the autoSubmit property of the field to true. Can you elaborate your requirement? What do you mean by related data? Are you performing some sort of search?
If you want to get the value you entered on the field, just set autoSubmit to true and get the new value from the valueChangeListener. How to auto-populate dates in a calendar based on radio buttons?

I'm trying to create an availability form that is submitted on a monthly basis. What I'd like is to have a radio button the user could click to indicate what day the first of the month falls on (Monday through Sunday), and have fields auto-populate with the remainder of the dates on the calendar. As it stands right now, I've got the radio buttons and the text fields, but I'm running into serious issues getting the text fields to auto-fill based on the selected radio button.
I've labelled the radio button group "First Day of Month" and the individual values are "Monday" "Tuesday" "Wednesday" "Thursday" "Friday" "Saturday" "Sunday" and "Start". The "Start" button is hidden but is checked by default.
My text fields are even simpler: "Monday 1" "Monday 2" "Monday 3" "Monday 4" and "Monday 5" (and then, obviously, repeated for each day of the week.
I am horrible at scripting, so I think that might be where I'm running into issues. What I'd like to put is something like this (only, you know, functional, and for each days' text value):

Which sharepoint edition you are using? I would prefer to customize your list form in infopath form then add new connection which will connect to your SQL. Later you can filter data based on cust ID. Here is the link to add connection in infopath:

Auto-populate checkboxes in a form

I'm working on a form in ApEx that has several checkbox fields on it, and am having some trouble getting them to auto-populate. Based on a selection on the welcome page of this application, certain checkboxes should auto-populate so that users should be able to opt out of certain criteria on the form.
Here's an example:
On page 1 of this application, the user chooses what type of report they are requesting. Their options are: "Internal Use" "Non-Solicitation Mailing" "Solicitation Mailing" "Solicitation" "Invitation" and "Other." On the next page (the form itself), there are several different conditional items called "(type of request)_Exclusions," and all of these are checkboxes based on a Static LOV. For example, for a request that is listed as "Internal Use," the checkboxes for "Deceased" "Lost" and "No Mail" should be automatically checked so that the user has the option to opt out, and their values should be returned to the database.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.

You want the checkboxes to be checked by default in the form while creating a new record in the database. Suppose that form page number is 7 and it has a hidden item P7_ID (refererring primary key of database table) and checkbox item P7_IS_ACTIIVE (refererring IS_ACTIVE column of database table and can have values 'Y' or 'N'). Now edit P7_IS_ACTIIVE item and scroll to Default section.
Type Default Value = case when :P7_ID is null then 'Y' end;
Default Value Type = PL/SQL Expression
In the List of Values section type List of Values Definition = STATIC2:Active;Y.
Click Apply Changes and create Automatic Row Processing (DML) process On Submit -After Computations and Validations for insert, update and delete of database table records. Type Item Containing Primary Key Column Value = P7_ID.
Whenever you create a new record the P7_IS_ACTIIVE is always checked.

Auto populate values in the the database table

Hi All,
I have a requirement where user enter values in one of the ZTransaction. This will update a Ztable. So the new requirement is to add two new columns in the fields, which is completed. Now this two new fields are supposed to auto populate values based upon the key field .
The transaction code is defined with Transaction as SM30 and Default values as
Name of the screen field     value
Update                               X
VIEWNAME                      "table name which the values are updated".
Please let me know how to do this.

I am unsure of what you are trying to accomplish so I will make a few assumption and perhaps you can find some benefit in it.
I suppose you are trying to add new fields to a custom (Z) database table.
If so then use SE11 to add the two new columns.
After this is complete then rebuild the table maintenance by using the following path: SE11-> Utilities->Table Maintenance Generator. (Remember to double check the Recording Routine Radio button.)
If the user needs fields automatically populated then check the following link. It describes how to use table maintenance events. I suppose you need to use Event 01 and Event 05.

How to Auto-populate TextField in Acrobat x with a value determined by user check box selection?

I have a group of 3 Check Boxes for user to select their Work Shift: The check boxes are set up to be mutually exclusive (same name: "EMP_Shift", different Export Values: Day, Evening, Night).
Form Field properties name: EMP_Shift (for all 3 check boxes)
Acrobat edit panel field names: EMP_Shift#0, EMPShift#1, EMPShift#2
Export Values: Day, Evening, Night (chose these only because they are descriptive)
I need to Auto-populate a Text Field named EMP_WorkShift with "Day" if EMP_Shift#0 is selected, "Evening" if EMPShift#1 is selected, or "Night" if EMPShift#2 is selected.
Is there a script I can use to accomplish this in Acrobat Pro X.

The simplest is to set up the text field to be calculated using the following custom Calculate script:

You'd normally set the text field to be read-only, but if you want the user to be able to edit the text field, you can instead use the following script in the Mouse Up event of each check box:

Digital Signature - Auto-Populate Multiple Signature Fields

I am in the process of testing digital signatures with PDFs. I have a Topaz Signature Pad working in conjunction with Acrobat 9 and Reader 9 so that I can insert digital signatures with no problems.
We are wanting to take this a step further and streamline a particular business process. Does anyone know of a way to have a digital signature auto-populate multiple designated signature fields? We have about 15 documents that require an employee signature in multiple places and rather than having someone sign a document over and over again, we'd like the option for a single signature that auto-fills in all the required signature fields.
This doesn't necessarily have to work with Topaz Signature Pads. I am completely open to other suggestions, products or methodologies for making this work as long as something can be automated to auto-fill multiple signature fields.

Auto-filling of forms is requirement which can be achieved through various processes.
In combination with Adobe LiveCycle this is executed in the case study of Adobe/SOFTPRO.
