Track setup for multiple independent projects

Hi,
We have to develop two separate projects in NWDI. Both projects are Web Dynpro based, independent of each other and developed by different development teams. We need the ability to maintain and deploy the projects independently. What is the recommended way on creating the track(s) for this scenario?
Should we create separate tracks for each project? OR should we create one single track and two SCs with in the track (one for each project)? If we go with 2nd option, can we grant authorization to developers at SC level (as different development teams will be working on these projects)? What is the recommended way of creating track(s) when working on multiple projects?
Thanks
Kumar

Hi Kumar,
it's not so bad. After initial setup of those tracks, there is not a lot of maintenance to do. We are running a NWDI here with 21 tracks...
There are some ways to consolidate thinks. If there are several projects with the same runtime systems, you can for example setup one delivery track for your production system and transport track connections to this track from all development tracks. In this way you can have a easy overview in system state of this tracks, on what was trasnported to your production system. And you can secure your production system from developer access this way; if your are going for SOA conform setup of your projects.
Kind regards
Jan

  • What is icloud setup for Multiple users, multiple devices in family?

What would be the recommended setup for iCloud to allow family members with multiple devices and multiple iTune accounts to share purchases, sync there own mail account, contacts, and reminders with multiple devices, and be able to sync calenders with all family calendars? Or better yet how can family members pick and choose what to sync with a common iCloud account?

I'd like to know this to.
We have 1 mac mini that serves as a media station that streams audio to Zeppelin air and photos & movies to our TV.
My wife buys music on her iPhone. And takes pictures of the family.
I buy apps and music on my iPad. And make movies of the family.
I have a macbook pro ( itunes with home sharing,  iphoto home sharing ).
She has a nice macbook (  itunes with home sharing, iphoto home sharing ).
What we would want is that the mac mini collects all music / videos / media and streams it to all our apple devices via wifi ( not via internet ). But I with my appleID and she with her appleID.
I wonder is Apple can make an GUInterface that I can understand to solve this.
This iCloud seems not too suited.
For families it would be easier if iOS5 would have 'home sharing' with upload and not transfer everything to CA first.

  • Entry Channel setup for multiple company codes

    Hello,
I have a question regarding the entry channel setup (for external requirements in the Plan-Driven Procurement scenario)
In previous implementations, I 've created an entry channel below each company code (as the documentation says it should be). Now, for each entry channel, there was a EBP user assigned, which corresponded to an RFC entry in the backend system (I was connecting EBP to multiple backend systems)
Now, what should I do in the following scenario?:
    1. SRM is only connected to one backend system
    2. There are 50 company codes
Does that mean I have to create 50 users (for each channel) plus 50 RFC connections in the R/3 system (each with a different user in the backend system), pointing to the same SRM system?
I was thinking of creating an Org iD in the SRM structure at the top (which would be the entry channel), assign only ONE user to it and then fill attribute BUK with all the company codes. However, I don't know if this will work, because the external requirement process might need the company code defined in the "Function" tab... =/
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
    Regards,
    Gilberto.

    Hi Proyecto Genesis,
I am also configuring the Entry channel (org unit) for multiple company codes.
I tried your logic of defining the entry channel outside company code level. Assigned the BUK attribute and extended attribute for plants and storage locations.
Also in my case the local Pur org and Pur group is defined outside the company code. Is it correct?
However the system fails to transfer the external requisition to SRM.
    SLG1 displays following error message.
"No address found for partner function type Ship-To Address"
So if I move the Entry channel (org unit) under any one company code level then the external requisitions are transferred correctly to SRM.
But then the issue is the requirements are not transferred with the backend Pur Org and Pur grp. Instead they are transferred to the Pur Org and Pur grp of the company code under which the entry channel is defined.
Can you please share how do we need to define the entry channel, local pur org and pur grp for multiple company codes scenario, so that the ECC requisitions are transferred with the correct company code, pur org and pur grp to SRM?
Or do we need to define Entry channel for each company code and RFC user actually mapping the same backend system?
    Please guide.
    Regards,
    Sandeep

  • Strategies for multiple developers projects

We are a team and we have to develop a quite big application.I'd like to know a good strategy for managing this project:
How can we protect a VI or a library from being updated by several developers al the same time?.
Is a good idea to split up the application in several libraries, one for each developer?.
Which is the best way to make a modular structure?
    Thanks

    Hi Chemi,
The answer cannot be too detailed because it depends on the nature of your application.
    Anyway, some suggestions apply:
    - Regarding code control, you can use "Source Code Control" if working with LV 6.x Professional or something similar (like Visual Source Safe (from MS Visual Studio)). Using these tools you can manage every file being part of a project with multiple developers.
    - Stay together while defining the general hierarchy of the application, define main VIs with just inputs/outputs and a short description, and connect them. This way, you can have your application "already done" and start assigning a part for everyone.
    - A good idea is to define some development guidelines for your group in order to have almost the same "style" in the ent
    ire application
    Good Luck
P.s.: take a look in NI's "Development Guidelines" manual ... you may find some other useful ideas

  • Exchange setup for multiple domains

We are planning to deploy Exchange server 2013, We have two companies and would like to create Email box for both the companies with same name.
Example : [email protected], [email protected]
We would like to have separte email boxes for the both companies. Please suggest us accordingly.

That should be simple enough. Exchange can handle having multiple domains for sending / receiving and users can have multiple mailboxes configured in Outlook. The name field in Exchange doesn't need to be unique (the account name does obviously), so for
instance there's no issue having "Fred Bloggs" <[email protected]> and "Fred Bloggs" <[email protected]> both setup.
In a way the trickier part is setting it up in Outlook since different versions react differently. If you're using Outlook 2013 it should be quite straight forward. As you can see here
http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/ee815819.aspx the manual setup is easy enough for multiple exchange mailboxes, though auto mapping should work as well. If you're in a network AD
environment (eg connecting using your local password), then realistically you'll want one mailbox to be primary which is associated to your network login, and then that login to have full access and send as permissions on the second mailbox.
You may also need to deploy a reg key change to enable saving sent items from the second mailbox into that mailboxes sent items folder rather then the primary mailboxes (assuming you want to keep messages two and from both domains separate and in their own
mailboxes). The reg key is listed here
http://support.microsoft.com/kb/2843677 and is definitely needed in Outlook 2007 and 2010 but I'm not sure if it's still an issue if you're using Outlook 2013.

  • Help with project/folder setup for new flex project??

    Hello all,
I need help deciding how to set up my projects for a new flex application we're developing.
We have an in-house custom java/jsp "framework". This framework has JSP pages for administering applications that are built using this framework. One part of the framework generates all java base and model objects from our database tables to be used in the new application.
The new application will have a back-office part (Adobe AIR) and a web facing part (Adobe Flex).  Both the AIR and Flex parts of the application need to access the java model objects via AS3 classes (I believe I'll do this using remoteobject).
    My questions are as follows:
After I create the base and model AS3 classes that remoteobject with the java classes can I put these in a common library project so both my AIR and Flex app can access common AS3 code.  I feel I should do this to keep from duplicating code by copying the AS3 classes in both my AIR and Flex projects.  Can you give my any examples or links to information on how to do this??
I plan to also create a common java project for all base and model objects generated from my db tables so that the common library project with AS3 classes could remoteobject interface with the java classes in the java project. I would like to keep all of my business logic in the java model classes.  Does this seem appropriate for the projects/setup listed above?
Here are the projects I think I need in Flex Builder.
    FlexWebApp
    AIRBackOfficeApp
    JavaApp - Common
    AS3FlexLibraryApp - Common
The FlexWebApp and AIRBackOfficeApp will reference the AS3FlexLibraryApp and the AS3FlexLibraryApp will remoteobject to the java classes in JavaApp.
Any help or direction with this is greatly appreciated.
    Thanks,
    Whitney

  • HT2500 email setup for multiple devices of same user

I am trying to set up email on my imac, iphone4, and mac book so that I can access and manipulate or delete emails on one device without affecting the email on the others.  I do not know if I use pop on my main machine, imap on macbook and mobile.my.email on the phone.

While you can share access to a mail server from multiple clients (that's the default set-up for folks with multiple clients), your actions conducted from one client will effect what the other clients see.
If you're downloading mail messages from the server to storage on one client, then the other clients won't then have access to those messages.  If you delete a message from the server, the other clients will no longer find the message on the server.
If you want these clients to be completely independent, then you'll need to set up several different users, and use one on each client.
POP is a comparatively poor choice here as that typically downloads messages from the server to the client.
Choosing IMAP is "newer" than POP, and usually a better choice.
For your outbound mail, use of the submission port (TCP 587) is recommended.  Don't use SMTP port 25.
You're going to get to learn a little more about this stuff including about your current configurations, or you'll want to find somebody that can assist you with setting this up in your environment - the POP or IMAP and mail submission set-up is often specific to a particular mail server. Apple's Mail Setup Assistant might be helpful.

  • BOGO Modifier setup for multiple items

Regarding the BOGO (buy one, get one free) promo we can set up easily. We have a situation where to set-up a BOGO in which there is one or more “buys” and but only one “get”.If there is a case where there are many “gets” though (e.g. Buy “A” and get “X”, “Y” or “Z” for free) what is the best way to setup the promotional modifier?
IS there a way where we can configure a modifier like buy A item, and user should be able to select either “X”, “Y” or “Z” item?
One thought was to set-up the multiple “get” options as related items at $0 or is there a better way to setup?
    Thanks,
    Rishi

    Hi Rishi,
Sorry to ask for information on your question only but is there a way you can send me details on how to setup BOGO? (Simple condition what you have mentioned i.e. Buy 1 Get 1)

  • How to setup for multiple users accessing same share?

    Hi!
Recently picked up Mac Mini Server and have some configuration questions related to sharing files & information over the internet. Whenever possible, prefer to use the built-in features & tools, not 3rd party tools.
My setup & needs are this:
    - Have folders & sub-folders with files to share.
    - Wish to give individuals access to the shared folders, each with their own account (and access logging).
    - Shared folder and files should be visible via web to authenticated users only (so no special client or setup is needed).
Right now, have added a Website via Server.app that points to the folder with files to share, and that works somewhat, but doesn't support individual user accounts separately?
Thought maybe to setup VPN but that seems like massive overkill for this (and is a pain in the butt for non-technical users to setup).
Editing httpd.conf for user support is a possibility, but seems /etc/apache2/httpd.conf only applies to the default web server (on port 80) not the one i set up in Server.app?
Can anyone recommend the best approach, given the above needs?

I have a related question. i created 2 websites/domains then i went to users and created 2 seperate "network" users then i went to ftp and selected each website and added only user A to site A and user B to site B. what's weird is that when i try to ftp using either of the users it seems to land on the same site. i looked at shared security for the folders and it only shows user a on site a folder and user b on site b folders. am i doing somehitng wrong or is this how it works in mountain lion server? i just want to give the domain owner ftp access so they can manage their files and only thier files. i also had to turn on open directory so that it would not create a local user but a network user. do i need to turn that off and just deal with having a bunch of local users as ftp user? i want to host multiple websites on the server and NO users remote on to server besides ftp.
edit 1: i only have 1 IP running on the server which i don't think it has any affect on this but thought i mention it :-)
edit 2: i just noticed one more thing that may help. i used filezilla to remote in using both users, one at a time. it seems to allow both users in but then it shows same directories. i then created a file using the one that was not supposed to have acces and it never sows up. but if i remote desktop to server i can see the new file in the correct folder. so it may have something to d o with the directory listing.

  • Chapters for multiple iMovie projects (movies) in a single iDVD project

I sent three iMovie '11 projects with chapter markers to Media Browser. I dragged each of the movies from the Media Browser into a single iDVD project. Dragging the first movie resulted in the creation of one button named "play movie" and one button named "scene selections". But dragging in the second and third movies resulted in only a "play movie" button for each movie--no "scene selections". Does iDVD not allow multiple movies to have sub-menus? Am I required to combine the three projects while still in iMovie (such that there is in effect only two levels possible, not three)? From the description of how to create a project in iDVD, I was under the impression that I could have three main buttons (Sydney, Matakohe, and Brisbane), and have each sporting chapters. It would change the organization substantially to have reduce the structure to only two levels. And I've seen nothing that says this cannot be done.

Thanks for your comments. It strikes me as exceedingly odd that a program that is made for creating projects out of multiple movies provides scene selections (chapters) for only the first movie added. I also find it odd that this little fact is not mentioned anywhere and that I am apparently the first person in history to want to have a sub-menu for each movie in a project. I have had many views on this discussion group and on the iMovie '11 discussion group, but yours is the only answer so far. Why does the manual or Help (for both iDVD and iMovie) not say "Oh, by the way, you can add all the movies you want, but don't expect to get any chapters for them" (it makes little sense to provide chapters for one movie, if you can't for the rest). And, in iMovie: "if you are planning to put more than one movie on a DVD, don't waste your time adding chapter markers. They can't be used in iDVD."
I have Toast Titanium 6. It's a pretty old version, but I was able to use it to use it for something recently. Thanks again.

  • Best setup for multiple email accounts

I have 8 email accounts in my iphone 3G and it seems that many times it gets "hung" up on the first one (gmail) because it just says "connecting". The only way to solve it is to turn the phone off and then on again, which I'm doing several times a day. For now, I have every account set to manual fetch. Any suggestions on how to solve this issue, and the best way to setup the fetching, etc.?

Note sure what G mail is, but if it involves another isp email provider not interested, I have multiple accounts as a garbage dump for spam possibilities too much spam on one account bye bye. Usually 2 main email accounts though. btw, not a memory issue either. still plenty left. Was looking at the contacts thread and there is receiving/sending issues with email since 2.0 update anyway.

  • Itunes setup for multiple Ipods

I have not figured out how to setup more than one Ipod on one PC. I have tried using playlists but end up duplicating songs one one of the Ipods. Any suggestions would be appreciated.

There are several different ways to use two iPods with one computer, have a look at this help page for suggestions: How to use multiple iPods with one computer
If you want to use selected playlists for each iPod try this. Open iTunes and create a playlist to update from iPod from, call them -My iPod1, -MyiPod 2 for example (the dash will position them at the top of the playlists in Sources). Drag whatever content you want to have into each playlist. Now connect your first iPod and when it appears in the Source list click on the iPod icon to bring up the preference tabs in the main pane. Go to the Music tab and choose Sync Music and the Selected playlists radio button. Choose the playlist you just made for this iPod from the selection and click Apply. Eject this iPod and connect the next one and follow the procedure above only choose the playlist you made for this iPod. Eject the second iPod and repeat the process until they are all done.
You can also sync from any existing playlists by choosing the same setting, you just need to make sure that the size of the playlists don't exceed the capacity of your iPod.

  • Patch Setup For Multiple Songs / Digitech GNX 4 (two questions)

    Hello,
As per the title this is a two-question question.
    1. A little bit of background: I play in a band and I've been using my laptop with MIDI controller since May. My current method is simple and a bit of a jury rig, but it works. We have a repertoire of about 80 songs for which I've created separate GarageBand files for each song containing each sound needed for a tune in a separate recording track. Of late, I've been needing a way to use two controllers to control two sounds and so I've just gotten Logic Studio and have been futzing with MainStage. My question is as follows:
It seems that theoretically I could make one Project file and literally load patches sorted by song for our entire repertoire, but it would cause my computer to be ridiculously slow since I only have 1GB RAM. Because I only have 1GB should I just make separate Project files for each song or is there a way I can load everything in one file without making the computer be slow? I do plan on upgrading the RAM to 4GB if this all works out.
    2. I also have a Digitech GNX4. It has a USB port for computer recording and it's worked with Garage Band. Can I assume it will work with the guitar effects of MainStage? (The USB port is broken and since I haven't really needed it, I haven't had it repaired. If the GNX4 does work with MainStage, you can bet it's going to the repair center).
I've loaded some of the guitar effect presets that have like 20+ patches and it takes a long time to load which I'm guessing is tied to only having 1GB RAM.
    Thanks for anyone's help.
    +My Gear apart from laptop:+
    +- M-Audio Keystation 88es+
    +- M-Audio KeyStudio 49+
+- M-Audio Oxygen 49 (just bought, arriving tomorrow and will most likely be returning the KeyStudio if it works well)+
    +- Digitech GNX4 guitar effects processor+

Right (as MIDI controller). I was speaking about that solely as able to use the amp modeling features of Main Stage.
My RAM should be arriving on Wednesday, upgrading from 1GB to 3GB
I have two MIDI controllers; M-Audio Keystation 88es and Oxygen 61.
My live situation is 95% keys (my various sounds split between the two controllers), and just running my guitar clean direct to amp for the few tunes when I use it (my guitar is a Rickenbacker 360-12). We're starting a few new songs where I'll have to use my six string so that's why I was curious if my GNX4 via USB can, again, use the amp modeling for those few songs. It's on it's way to the repair shop so it'll be a few weeks before I can test it.

    Hi,
I want to create files which contain audio tracks from more than one language. AppleTV 2 should play the AC3 track (2.0 or 5.1).
    I tried:
Track 1. DE: AAC Dolby Digital 2.0 160kBit
    Track 2. DE: AC3
