Trackpad one finger click reset after rebooting.

Hello,
from couple days ago, when I reboot my macbook air or come back from hibernation, somehow trackpad's one-finger click option is unchecked. Thus I cannot use mouse right clicking with two fingers or any other one-finger clicking related feature until I reset it from preferences.
I'm not sure whether it's a bug, but now it's really annoying to reset this every time I reboot or unfold the screen.
hope there's someone know clear answer for this.. lol
Thanks

Try deleting your /Users/xxx/Library/Preferences/com.apple.systempreferences.plist file and restart.

  • My late 2008 MBP trackpad one finger click is no response

Whenever touch the trackpad, the one finger is no longer function. The rest of gesture function are normal. Is there any way to fix it? I can use the external Bluetooth mouse, but once touch the pad, the click function is no longer function at all.

I myself  remove the battery and solved the problem. The TP function backs to normal completely. I guess it is all because the static electricity may interfere the Pad. Even I haven't changed the new battery yet, I notice that the used battery shape has little distortion. I don't know if that will squeez the battery body to touch the PAD or not? Anyway, iti backs to normal without battery.

  • Is there a way to reduce the sensitivity of the one finger click on the trackpad?

Is there a way ro reduce the sensitivity of the one-finger click on the tackpad?

    nope.
it *****. i had to turn off "tap to click" if that ishat you are referring to. i couldn't write an email or any other document without the cursor inserting to wherever it felt like.
another solution for me would have been to place my trackpad above my keyboard, as it was the slightest of brushes against the trackpad that was causing this annoyance.

  • Magic Trackpad - One Finger Dragging/Drag Lock Not Working

So I'm loving my new Magic Trackpad, but my one finger dragging and drag lock does not seem to be working.
First of all, it is enabled under System Preferences-->Trackpad. No matter what I do, I cannot get one finger dragging to work. I logged in under my wife's account, enabled it there, and tried but still no luck. It doesn't appear to be working under either of our accounts.
I've yet to create a brand new account to try, but my wife's account just as well be new, as it's virtually never used.
Note that I did have a Magic Mouse previously and using MagicPrefs. I'm curious if this might be causing issues, but I haven't tried removing it yet.
Any ideas? Physically clicking while dragging is about to drive me crazy.

QUICK FIX: Change the option for the three-finger gesture to dragging; it works.
Although I wish I could do one-finger dragging and keep the three-finger gesture for Navigation.
But not being able to drag or select text/pics, was a more urgent desire than Navigation, so I changed the option on the three-finger gesture.
I have had the SAME PROBLEM with dragging and drag lock (whatever 'drag lock,' is, I haven't seen explained; it doesn't work for me, yet).
_Everything else I've gotten to work_ (secondary click in left/right corners took a while - now I learned that I actually got to push down/click; or, at least, doing that makes it work).
But, one finger dragging - still no go.
I'll try the suggestions here. Check out the apps mentioned. Subscribe. See what happens.
P.S. - It doesn't 'shock me,' that a brand new product with first version software is not perfect, nor that I/we may have a bit of a learning curve.
My right wrist was ready for a rest and my left hand eager to get into computer use, so I love this product, find it 'graceful,' and pleasant and have confidence that it will be improved by Apple and others, and ourselves as we get use to it.

  • Calendar Settings reset after reboot

    Hi,
Could anybody please check if you have the same issue on your phone?
Sony Calendar resets settings after reboot.
For example, if I set "Week starts on" = "Monday" and reboot the phone, this settings will be back to "Sunday" (which is the default).
I am now running Calendar 20.0.A.2.5, but I believe this bug was there before as well (even on my old Xperia V, I believe)
P.S. I found this topic, but either I didn't understand the solution correctly or it doesn't work for me... I tried to disable the Calendar app, but it didn't help in any way...
    Solved!
    Go to Solution.

I will forward this internally for further investigation. I will update you as soon as i have more information.
But as a possible workaround, i suspect you have selected a country/region under Settings -> Language & input -> Language where the week normally is set to start on Sunday like English US? If you are in the Netherlands but want the phone on english you could try setting it to English UK instead to avoid this until i have more information.

  • Windows 2003 R2 Enterprise SP2- File Share suddently no one can access. After reboot, it is back normal. Why?

We have file server, which is using windows 2003 R2 Enterprise Edition, Service Pack 2. Today suddently no one can access its file share. I try to login to the server and open services, but it is so slow to respond. I have to reboot the machine. After the
server reboot, it is back normal. Any one know why?
Here are the system errors shown before the machine rebooted. First question, I am not sure which error really causes the problem. The machine is set to use WSUS to get windows update.  On the automatic updates, it is set to "Download updates
for me, but let me choose when to install them." Second question, why the machine is still trying to install update without permission? Please help. Thanks.

    Hi,
As you mentioned, users suddenly cannot access file share, the issue most likely caused by third party software, such as antivirus software. Please refer to the thread below to troubleshoot the issue:
    File share become inaccessible

For your second question, you can Configure Automatic Updates group policy and choose
Auto download and notify for install. This option automatically begins downloading updates and then notifies a logged-on administrative user prior to installing the updates

  • MSI Control center windows 8.1 fan settings reset after reboot.

I wanted to see if anyone has any information about this. I have a z77a-gd65 motherboard running windows 8.1 and I have saved profiles for cpu fan and sys1/sys2 fans. After reboot the fan curves get reset to factoy defaults.
I didn't have this problem with windows 7 and am running the latest version of Control Center.
Is there a fix for this?  Thanks in advance.

I actually did find a response from MSI in a random query.
They said, 'CC is used for temporary changes, use the bios'.
Which I can see the validity of that statement, but at the same time, what if you want to adjust things to a finer degree than the bios and want it applied after restart?
I know you can save and load individual pages of the Command Center, but still..
I do find it VERY irritating I can't set fan speeds lower than 50% for the System Fans. (or is there a way to do this?)

  • Double-click speed resetting after reboot

    Hi,
Every time I start my MacBook the mouse and trackpad double-click speeds resets themselves to very slow.
I've installed all the software updates, and tried repairing permissions from single user mode, but nothing seems to change.
It's tough to live with because I'm a very fast clicker (drink lots of coffee) and prefer the double-click speed to be set to maximum.
I'm using Leopard (10.5.5) on a brand new 15" MacBook Pro.
    Does anyone have any suggestions?
(I'd even settle for a startup script that sets the speed on boot.)
    Thanks!

I have been having this exact same issue for several months now. I followed the instruction re: deleting the .plist files, but the problem persists... however... today I discovered something new, and perhaps it might help with the troubleshooting.
I started my machine today and opened my System Preferences to reset my double-click speeds (before my system finished it's start-up routine), but to my joyful surprise they were already set where I like them (2nd fastest setting). I started working in different programs (Mail, Firefox 3.0.3, and Adium 1.3.2) and noticed that my double-click speed had slowed down. I re-opened System Preferences and indeed... both double-click speeds had been reset to zero.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.

  • Wacom Intuos4 tablet settings keep resetting after reboot

I am not sure if anyone else is seeing this but on my fresh install of 10.6, I installed the latest drivers for my Wacom Intuos4 tablet and every time I reboot, the configurations are reset to defaults.
I've also noticed that when I go into the Wacom preference pane in System Preferences, along with other preference panes (like Growl, for example), I have to restart the System Preference app.
Is anyone else experiencing similar issues?

This is a known issue with the current Wacom driver and it will have to be fixed by them in an update. In the meantime, you can make the preferences save by quitting System Preferences after changing any tablet settings and then reopening the Wacom prefpane in System Preferences and closing it again.

  • Default printer resetting after reboot in Windows 7 x64

I'm managing a domain with roughly 450 clients, all running Windows 7 Ent x64, and about 50 printers. All clients have the same desktop image with the exception of a few desktops need special additional software. I push out printers via GPO and it was
running fine until recently. The client pc would reset it default printer every time the pc reboot or log off. First, there was only a handful and now it spreads to almost half the number of pc are being effect with this problem. I've tried different
approaches, even completely rewrite the GPOs with no success. The pc would reset to either PDFCreator or OneNote or XPS or Fax. I found that if I re-image the client desktop the default printer would remain default but I'm keeping that as the
last option since it involves with data migrating and probably consumes a whole lot of time (200+ effected pc). Any leads or suggestions are much appreciated, my clients are not happy and they are chewing me alive :)
I must add that setting default printer via GPO is not an option for me since people with different groups or branches are sharing the same building/floor.

    Hi,
I’m not able to get security clearance to send these files to public, I apologize for that, is there a particular section/part that
I should pay attention to from that report? I went through a report just now and I’m not sure what to look for. Would you mind to give me some direction? Thanks again
    >> Please try to review the promon log. The Device value in the following Registry path contains the user's default printer:
    HKCU\Software\Microsoft\Windows NT\CurrentVersion\Windows\Device.
We can use process monitor to view what issue cause the registry key reset.
There is a scenarios for your reference:
One or more network printer connection under
    HKCU\Printers\Connections\<NetworkPrinterSubkey>
are missing the "Server" registry key.
    Resolution:
    Start Regedit.exe
Export HKCU\Printers\Connections to have a backup of the key
View the network printer registry subkeys under HKCU\Printers\Connections if on the right hand side it is missing the registry value "Server" then delete the Network Printer subkey under HKCU\Printers\Connections
Longer Term Solution: Remove the bad Network Printer Share from the server and/or update the print driver on the print server.

  • ITunes resets after reboot

This has been going on for quite sometime now, but I finally decided to do something about it. My iTunes use to work perfectly, but at some point in time it began to reset itself after I rebooted my computer. What I mean by this is now after I boot my computer up each time and decide to open up iTunes it now prompts me to go through and set the basic settings for the utility like it would after an install. Things like "primary media player," and so forth. The settings that I have set in options and in preferences remain the same for the most part, except about once every other week the program completely resets and I have to set all my preferences and options once again.
I work in I.T. so I like to consider myself a little knowledgeable on subjects like this, but I honestly don't know why this is acting up on my system. I have tried updating to the latest version, uninstalling and reinstalling, making sure the program isn't blocked or modified by other programs, and so forth. Any help with this would be greatly appreciated.

This should be fixed by reinstalling iTunes.
Otherwise, you might want to consider a free alternative such as these http://ipodmanagers.blogspot.com

  • Trackpad hard to click even after replacing battery

    Hello,
I have a MacBook pro 2011 and I came to the point where I needed to change the battery because it was no longer holding its charge and it was pushing up on the trackpad making it hard to click. (The clicking worked/works, it is just moderately hard to click on it.) I replaced the battery and now the battery works fine just the trackpad still doesn't click properly or as easily as it should. Any sudgestions to what i should do to make it be easier to click? Any help would be great thanks!!

    Tim Guisinger...
From what I gather pressing the button twice or holding on the button more that a couple seconds can crash the circuits. You may have to reset the logic board. Getting into a big hurry can be a disaster here. See below from the service manual.
    <hr width="200">
Many system problems can be resolved by resetting the Cuda chip (see the Symptom/Cure tables for examples). Press the Cuda reset button on the logic board to reset the Cuda chip. (The Cuda reset button is located on the back edge of the logic board between the modem port and the processor module. Refer to the Logic Board Diagram in the Basics chapter for location information.) If you continue to experience system problems, refer to “Resetting the Logic Board” later in this chapter.
    <hr width="200">
Resetting the logic board can resolve many system problems (see the Symptom/Cure tables for examples). Whenever you have a unit that fails to power up, you should follow this procedure before replacing any modules.
    1. Unplug the computer.
    2. Disconnect the cable that runs from the power supply to the power filter board on the bottom side of the logic board/mass storage chassis.
    3. Press the Power On button on the front of the unit.
    4. Remove the logic board/mass storage chassis from the unit.
    5. Remove the battery from the logic board.
    6. Wait at least 10 minutes before replacing the battery.
    7. Make sure the battery is installed in the correct +/- direction.
    8. Reassemble the computer and test the unit.
Note: This procedure resets the computer’s PRAM. Be sure to check the computer’s time/date and other system parameter settings afterwards.

  • System Sound Output Level Reset After Reboot ?

Whenever my iMac Core Duo is rebooted, system sound output level always get reset to value 0.56 (-24dB) as shown in utility "/Applications/Utilities/Audio Midi Setup". I have to increase the system sound output level to desired value of 0.75(-12.75dB) to match with built-in amplifier of Altec Lansing FX6021 speaker system. The desired setting lasts until next reboot. Is there any way I can fix the system sound output level at desired level between reboots ? Why I have to be involved in such constant struggle with the iMac for such simple audio configuration ?
Audio Hijack Pro 2.6.7 wihtout Soundflower 1.1 virtual audio device has been installed. Audio hijack function of this utility has not been used at all. Thank you for any pointer.

Thanks for the confirmation that my iMac is not an isolated case. In case you are not willing to use Audio Hijack Pro, just use Automator to create an Automator script to set system volume (In Automator's Library plane: Applications>System>Set System Volume) and save it as application. Set this application as Login Items for your account through following menu path:
System Preferences>Accounts>Login Items. Whenever you login with this account, the script will be invoked automatically by Mac OS X and sound levels for output, input and alert will be set to user preferred levels. For older versions of Mac OS X (10.3.9 and earlier) without Automator, same effect can be achieved with Apple Script, use Apple Script Editor instead of Automator to create Apple Script and set it as Login Items. This workaround has been working consistently on my iMac Intel Core Duo.

  • Display Resolution always resets after reboot

Every time I reboot, my monitor resolution in the system preferences is reset to 640x480. This is starting to become EXTREMELY annoying. This has only started happening since my upgrade to 10.4.4 and has continued thru 10.4.5 . Does anyone know why this is happening, and is there any way to "lock" the screen resolution to 1280x1024 (Refresh Rate: 75 Hz)?
    Thanks!
EDIT: Thought I might add that this is a Powermac G5 1.6 Ghz.

Is this the only setting you lose between boots? Does it happen no matter how you start up or only if it has previously shut down? Could it be that the internal battery needs to be replaced (see Resetting your Mac's PRAM and NVRAM)?

  • "tap to click" resetting after shut down/restart

I've been having trouble more and more frequently with the "tap to click" option - sometimes when I turn my (2.5 year old) MacBook off at night and restart it the next morning, tap to click will be unchecked and I will have to go reset it in System Preferences. Does anyone know how I can stop it from doing this? It didn't concern me before as much when it was only happening rarely, but it's starting to occur more often now.

I have the exact same problem. I thought maybe it was a microsoft entourage issue, but it has been happening whether I have entourage or other microsoft apps installed/running or not. Browsing through activity monitor shows nothing that to me would be suspicious. It doesn't seem to matter whether I have any peripherals attached or not. This problem did not occur when I was using 10.4.11.
