Transact SQL Query
Hi,
We are using sql server 2012. This query is used by financial applications. Each client has multiple accounts. There will be multiple transactions happening on each account (like deposit, withdrawal, sale money, internal transfers etc).

This is just sample to get feel. I need to take so many other criteria into account when checking whether particular account has enough amount. All the above transactions belong to 1 client.
In above table, account 1101 got money 600/- but 300.00 got withdrawn. So, account has enough money
What I was doing in a loop call another stored procedure and pass transaction for calculations based on criteria and finally come up with whether account has sufficient amount and mark it in a table for that account. Next send next transaction to the stored
proc in a loop and check the amount sufficiency. In the above example, I go in loop and call another stored procedure for account 1101 3 times.
So, it is taking long time and we are getting timeout error. Is there any other efficient way of handling this for a particular date range.

Please post DDL, so that people do not have to guess what the keys, constraints, Declarative Referential Integrity, data types, etc. in your schema are. Learn how to follow ISO-11179 data element naming conventions and formatting rules. You are totally ignorant
on this basic standard. Temporal data should use ISO-8601 formats (you failed! So we have to edit everything). Code should be in Standard SQL as much as possible and not local dialect.
This is minimal polite behavior on SQL forums. Now we have to guess and re-type your data for you. Also, do not post pictures. We are not small children who cannot read. We use DDL.
There is no generic “type" in RDBMS. There is no generic “date" in RDBMS. In fact DATE is a reserved word in SQL!! There is no generic “amount" in RDBMS. You cannot use # in a column name; it violates ISO standards.

You are mimicking a traditional ledger in SQL. This double entry model goes back to a monk named Luca Pacioli in the 1400's; he used Roman numerals and has no negative numbers. Today, we use Arabic numerals, negative numbers and matrices. Why are you looping??

I need to send success or failure message(i.e. 1 or 0) to BAPI which has been called below sql query action block in transaction
Here in SAP, i have created on BAPI with one import parameter and one export parameter.
In the sql query action block, it insert records in the database table. If it fail or success, that message(numeric value 1 or 0) has to send to SAP program through BAPI.
I have created a SAP ABAP program which sends message to MII Message listener through RFC then in the process rule message it will call transaction, in transaction, sql query will insert records into database table. if it success or fail, it will pass to BAPI. And i calling that BAPI in the same SAP ABAP Program to show in the output screen.
Here the issues, i am not getting the value from BAPI which has send by the transaction in MII.

I am facing problem regarding completion notifications in Oraclr r12, when user click the upon completion generated notifications it can only be viewd once, second time user cannot view the notifications.
I have find that fnd_file_temp table store this information and deleted it.
Plz help me how to view this URL again.

SQL query to get transaction detail from DEFERRED_TRAN_ID
Hi,
I'm using Oracle Advance Replication and get the transaction detail from Enterprise Manager Console.
So instead of using the console.
Is there a way any SQL query which get transaction details like SQL query fired, old and new column value etc from DEFERRED_TRAN_ID.

How to get resultset from procedure having dynamic select sql query ?

I have created a procedure, in which there is dynamic select query. The procedure has one out put parameter which gives error code. When I compile that procedure it compiles successufully. When I run it it executes successfully and gives output error code. But I don't know how to get resultset of that dynamic select sql query. I need that.

I've a query which fetches the data from the tables based on daily transactions.
I mean, the data gets updated daily basis.
Now, i want to send the user a Ms-access work sheet with the query written, so that when ever the query is executed, it would fetch the records (with latest updates).
I found some documents in google to, how to write sql query in ms-access.
How ever, i'm unable to find the connection setup.

I have recently installed SQL Server 2008. When I try to execute a query against an Access database, I receive this debugging error:
"Unable to start Transact-SQL debugger. The Transact-SQL debugger does not support SQL Server 2005 or earlier versions of SQL Server. (SQLEditors)"

Have you tried to restart the server once you have installed SQL Server 2008? As Naomi N mentioned please check the version of SQL Server you are using.

So it works with SQL Server 2008 only so far. Another way is you can triy to use SQL Server 2005 SSMS to connect to SQL Server 2005.

and iam new this sql query but came to know we can write code ..but iam unable to initiliaze to write
a peace of code as i dont know what are the select-options defined ..i saw in the include but didnt got it

SQL query against tables on MS SQL Server and Oracle using Oracle BI

I have two databases Oracle and MS SQL Server. I want to write a query statement which will retrieve data from both databases and publish this data into one report. That is I want to join/merge data from tables in both database into one report with one SQL Statement something like:
Select o.F1,o.F2, m.F1,m.F2
from
table@oracleServer o,
table@microsoftSQLServer m
where o.F1=m.F1;
Can Oracle BI Publisher do this?
Basically I want to query simultaneously two heterogeneous data sources in one SQL statement. Is there such a tool? I don't want to build a warehouse by moving data from SQL Server into Oracle or vice-versa. I don't want to duplicate data. I want to be able to query data at its source via 1 SQL statement.
How would one go about doing such a thing?

These are 2 different systems (hardware & software) which actually do the same job, they produce transactions for a common business entity. Kind of, both sell tickets for the same ABC ferry company.
I can not put them side by side on the dashboard, as I need to aggregate the data and present it maybe in a Oracle BI Report for Accounting and Financial reconciliation purposes.
The truth is, as it is. I can't change it, is too late.
I have to device a way to harvest both systems as they are. I don't want to move around data. I thought looking at Oracle BI I could write SQL against multiple Data Sources. I am struggling to find a way. As it seems that it can "SQL query" 1 data source at a time.

Shame, I have to pay licenses for OWB and Oracle Transparent Gateways. I thought DB vendors can do better. Why do I have to pay to access the other 50% of the market.
I can understand the performance implications this might have. Because of it I might even be forced at the end to move data (ETL) into a separate database, slice it into partitions and manage it that way. Pitty because currenlty I only need one report out of these systems but seems like will be dear to get.

SEQUENCE Select within an SQL Query with an ORDER BY statement
Does anyone know why you cannot use an ORDER BY statement within an SQL query when also selecting from a SEQUENCE? My query was selecting production data as a result of a filtered search. I want to take the results of the filtered search and create a transaction. I have a sequence for generating transaction numbers where I select NEXTVAL. Since I could possibly obtain multiple, yet distinct, rows based upon my search criteria, I wanted to use an ORDER BY statement to simplify and order the resulting row(s).
I was able to get the SQL select with SEQUENCE.NEXTVAL to work without the ORDER BY, so I know that my SQL is correct. Thanks in-advance.Okay,

Can HTML-based reports be built in BLS via an SQL Query and XSLT?
Hello xMII experts,
I have already built a report in xMII which uses XSLT to provide group/sum totals in a web browser. However in a new project, the report must run at certain times and possibly when certain signals become true in the process.
It appears that BLS is a good choice to achieve this and my proposed Transaction was:
1. SQL Query Action(uses the same QueryTemplate as in xMII)
2. XSLTransform Action on the resulting XML resultset (The .xsl file contains HTML which is the original used in xMII to produce the report there)
3. HTML Loader action with the resulting output of the transformation
I have now got some output in the resulting HTML file - however it omits all XSLT code - and I am left with an empty HTML shell but for a few images.
This indicates that perhaps no SQL data was ever returned.
I have therefore two questions:
1. How can I check if the SQL returned data?
2. Is it possible to deliver data to a HTML file directly after an XSLTransformation.

I am a little closer the result I need - however I think I need to explain what I had and what I need a little better.
Before BLS
1 xMII report page (.irpt extension) with two iCalendar applets (start/end date) and a set of buttons (1 for each report)
Upon clicking on a button the two dates are passed into an .irpt file, and via a servlet an SQL QueryTemplate and a XSL DisplayTemplate are used to build the report.
The HTML is embedded in the XSL file - thereby generating the report direct in the web browser.
- This all works fine
With BLS
A transaction which uses a modified SQL QueryTemplate (no date parameters) passing the results to an XML file. This works.
Now when I click on the button in my xMII screen the .irpt file is called with no Date parameters and the xAcute QueryTemplate called with the XSL DisplayTemplate. The irpt file has <html> and <body> tags with XSL file in the Servlet call providing the tables and data extraction from the XML.
I have no additional HTML file so I placed the iframe tag inside the XSL file - but it refers to the .irpt file - this doesn't sound right!
I do get a little output in the web browser but it still omits all XSLT code.
One more point - The Transaction can be scheduled and run as required - but I need the entire report to created and stored for viewing at a later date. Will a servlet tag running inside an .irpt file achieve this?

<li>Jaydip points out that <tt>"PRICECATEGORY"."PriceCategoryName"</tt> and <tt>"LINEITEM"."LineDescription"</tt> are not valid column alias names. They must be unqualified, nonquoted/quoted identifiers.
<li>Jeff indicates that <tt>WITH ROLLUP</tt> is not Oracle SQL syntax, and provides a sample of the required ROLLUP/CUBE clauseOracle SQL <tt>ROLLUP/CUBE clause</tt>.
Additionally, <tt>TRANSACTION</tt> is an Oracle keyword and therefore a poor choice as a database identifier: change the name of this table as soon as possible.
You're having this problem because not all "SQL" is created equal. Your OdeToCode source appears to be a site dealing with Microsoft technologies (SQL Server in this case). Unless you are very familiar with Oracle and SQL Server and the inherent differences between them you'd be advised to stick to purely Oracle resources (I know I do). There are plenty of good Oracle resources out there.
You'll also find it a lot easier to write, read and spot problems in SQL and PL/SQL code if you avoid using quoted identifiers (please tell us the database objects don't have case-sensitive names?) and use short table aliases rather than full table names. And we'll find it easier to help you on this forum if you post code samples wrapped in \...\wrapped in <tt>\...\</tt> tags. -

You could use a DB link to perform select and return result to BPEL process variable. Put a switch decision depending on result in variable that calls a DB Adapter to perform the insert.
Wouldn't be in a single transaction and not very elegant, but might be a way round.
