Transfer package to another control system

We have an independent control /central system which is busy with a big time reduction TDMS project, now it's at the beginning of the data transfer.
However its CPU has crashed 2 times this week.
Can we transfer this package to another TDMS control/central system, then continue the data transfer?
We have to think about this is because the data-selection cost a lot of time already, no time to start over.

As stated by Marcus if you really want to move your TDMS system to a different hardware the only possibility is to do a system copy. Now there are various ways to do a system copy depending on the Database (backup-restore, detach-attach e.t.c) and may be one of the method can suit your time frame. Your basis team should be in a position to help you plan the same.

If you say the material master is available in the 1st system (where you create the order), then the material number in the IDOC may not match with the material number in your database.
leading zeros. material number stored as alphanumeris instead of numeric.

Transfer of data from one system to another using ALE

Hi,
I had created some classes in development system than transfered them to productive system through ale, and in productive system there is lots of trasaction data is created , many sales orders etc .
now after some time my user requested that they want to delet some of the characterstic from the classes , so in development system its not a problem as there is no transaction data , i can straight way delet the characterstic from classes, ignoring the request to check wheater its used in configuration or not.
but when i transfer this classes to productive system through ale, i got a error that as all this characterstic s are used in past i cant delet them , and after that system ll put all the characterstic in the top of classes , ie, neglecting the earlier sequence of characterstic in class.
we have ecm activated but its limited for changing material and boms only, for changing classes and characterstic its not in scope.
so can you think of some solution for this problem .

Hi Dear,
its possible only with the help of ECM , you need to do some work around too.
ECM should be extended to include the classification. In fact, the EXACT SAME change number should be used. In PLM, it's important that all of the changes related to a material become active in a cohesive unit. We can talk about those details if you need some background.
Unfortunately, in the split-client scenario, you're toast on any hope of using the same ECM number, due to the internally defined number range. The best you can do is create a new, externally assigned number range in the production client, and generate the number internally in the staging client. You can then make the change in the staging client and ALE it over to the productive client.
The next nasty part is going to be retroactive changes. You can't simply back-date a change. You have to change every occurrence of a dependency, class, characteristic, etc, that has existed in production as of that back date. So, the smartest practice is to never allow any back-dated changes. Require orders to be cancelled and re-created with the new effective date.
Check and revert back.

Easy Steps
Include all the objects into a Transport Request no.
Provide the transport request no. to BASIS team & ask them to create a CONTROL & DATA file to import into another system.
In the target system, ask the BASIS Team to import those 2 files. Done !!
Laborious Steps
Goto SE38 & open the program, Click on EXPORT to file for all the programs & corresponding includes.
Then goto the target system & copy paste them.

Control systems in Labview?

I'm completely new to labview and am trying to program a control
system for an experimental actuator. I have the Labview Full System
package (8.2) and can't seem to figure out how to input a transfer
function in the frequency domain into a block diagram. Is this even
possible with my package, or do I need to by another palette?

I think you can achieve this using LabVIEw itself.
Or try searching the forums for Control System toolkit.
Also, there is a VI in the Analyze -->> Signal Processing -->> Frequency Domain palette.
See to it if it can fit your requirement.

Downloading Lion from the Mac App Store didn't put the Lion OS on your computer. It put an application package called Install Mac OS X Lion on your computer; specifically, in your Applications folder.
If you install from the Install Mac OS X Lion application package inside your Applications folder, the application package (the installer) will be deleted once the installation is complete. You must copy the installer to another location or to another drive/media before you run it to upgrade to Lion - if you didn't do that, then you have to download it again.
If you did copy the installer, then you can just copy it over to any other Mac you own which meets Lion's minimum system requirements and run it again to upgrade those other Macs to Lion.

Reduced Order (Luenberger) Observer in Control Systems

Hello,
I am trying to implement a simulation of a control system (in state space formalism) in which one of the strategies is to estimate various states and build a Luenberger (reduced/minimum order) observer. First I should simulate the continuous time model, and then discretize it in order to implement later in real time module.
Although I have already done a full order observer using the Control, Design and Simulation Module, I have no idea how to build a reduced order observer. Anyone could provide some ideas?

It is like I do not have all of the state variables fully accesible to meassure and feedback, and I have to estimate the ones that I cannot meassure with enough accuracy. Thus, in the theory, there is a way to construct a minimum order observer to estimate these variables and feedback them with the meassured ones.
I have checked the help of the Control, Design & Simulation manual and says something like you have to implement the usual observer structure (If I am understood that well) and state the variables you cannot access putting some zero value at their place in a diagonal matrix... but I am not totally sure about if that
is the correct way to do it.
Another way I am thinking is to construct the state space or the transfer function of the observer model and try to implement the block diagram that appears
in the theory part.
Also I am going to check the minreal command.

[SOLVED] Pacman trying to install 64-bit packages on 32-bit system

I was upgrading my Arch Linux i686 install, and I got the following error:
error: The mirror 'http://mirror.rit.edu/archlinux/$repo/os/$arch' contains the $arch variable, but no Architecture is defined.
I added Architecture = i686 to /etc/pacman.conf under [options], and when I run pacman -Syu, I get these errors:

Seems to be looking for 64 bit packages still. Had a similar issue when installing another prog as well

Receiver File Adapter - Create File on another SAP System

I am working on a project that includes this requirement: PDF files to be copied from a third party company via SFTP to a directory on our ECC system.
We have worked out the sender side config, and the transfer of the files into PI works fine via SFTP.
However, the PDF files are ending up in a directory on the PI system and not on our ECC system as expected.
The receiver communication channel is set up as follows:
Party = blank
Communication Component = communication component of the ECC business system
Adapter type = File
('Receiver' is ticked)
Transport Protocol = File System (NFS) (etc)
Target directory = /tmp (using this temporarily for testing)
I would have thought using the ECC business system would mean the files would end up on that system, but instead they end up on the /tmp directory on the PI system.
We are not permitted to use FTP between our SAP systems, so I can't go with that option.
I've searched for help on this and only see conflicting and vague statements about whether the NFS protocol can or can't be used for transfer to another SAP system in the landscape.
Any suggestions and help on the above, and the best method of transferring the files to the end SAP system would be very appreciated.

remember that NFS means that it is referring to a file system on PI server.
What you could do is mount a space on SAP PI onto SAP ECC so that ECC will be able to access the files on SAP PI.
Guess that should solve the problem.

Problem updating a control on one panel based on a value change in another control on a different panel

Hi,
I am trying to update the value of a control on one panel when the value of another control on a different panel is changed. The two panels are saved in two different .uir files, so there are two associated .h files generated by CVI. The problem is that, inside the callback function for the control that is being modified (Ctrl_Id_A on Panel_A), when I call SetCtrlVal(Panel_B, Ctrl_Id_B, Value); 'Panel_B' and 'Ctrl_Id_B' (which have the same numeric values as Panel_A = 1 and Ctrl_Id_A = 2 in their respective .h files) are being interpreted as Panel_A and Ctrl_Id_A. I never understood how CVI makes this distinction, eg. knowing which of PANEL_A = 1 and PANEL_B = 1 is being referred to, but didn't worry about it since I never needed cross-communication between panels until now. Any help on how to implement this would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

That is, you must not use the panel constant name in the first parameter of SetCtrlVal, use the panel handle instead. The system guarantees that all panel handles are unique throughout the whole application whichever is the number of panels used in every moment.

Purpose
Sets the value of a control to a value you specify.
When you call SetCtrlVal on a list box or a ring control, SetCtrlVal
sets the current list item to the first item that has the value you
specify. To set the current list item through a zero-based index, use SetCtrlIndex.
When you call SetCtrlVal on a text box, SetCtrlVal appends value to the contents of the text box and scrolls the text box to display value. Use ResetTextBox to replace the contents of the text box with value.
Note This function updates the displayed value immediately. Use SetCtrlAttribute with ATTR_CTRL_VAL to set the control value without immediately updating the displayed value. For this reason, SetCtrlAttribute with ATTR_CTRL_VAL is generally faster than SetCtrlVal. However, if the control in which you are setting the value is the active control in the panel, SetCtrlAttribute with ATTR_CTRL_VAL displays the value immediately.
Note This function is not valid for graph and strip chart controls.

TIME_OUT dump on 'Transfering logs into Control system'

Hi all,
When I double click one of my packages the message 'Transfering logs into Control system' is displayed in the status bar and after x minutes the systems dumps with an TIME_OUT error on CNV_MBT_STATE_REFRESH.
Any suggestions?

This can be caused by missing table buffer updates , you may trying executing /$tab in the system .

How to insert CLEAR SSIS Package in another SSIS Package

Hi All,
We have a requirement to run CLEAR SSIS Package in another SSIS Package whish extracts data from Oracle database system. Needed to run CLEAR SSIS Package if data exists in BPC application else run extract to Oracle system. Basically continue with SSIS Package and extract to Oracle system.
In Outlooksoft 4.2 we didn't have any issue, since all evModify is going to be in DTS Package and we didn't have any issues in placing a condition connection to CLEAR Package. Basically we were running CLEAR Package inside anther DTS Package twice successfully.
When we tried to create same functionality in SAP BPC 5.1, the code from EVMODIFY not doing correctly in executing the CLEAR inside another SSIS Package.
If any body knows how to create SSIS Package with a combination of 2 or more SSIS Packages by taking above scenario, please let me know.
The basic requirement is, how do we include a SSIS Package in another SSIS Package and use EVMODIFY to run this meta package in SAP BPC 5.1 environment.
Any information would be appreciated.

Yes, I have the job , and tried running this, Looks like it started executing. Will update in next 5 mins if it runs fine.
Looking at the command it generated, it looks like it is setting few more parameters like LoggingLevel, Synchronized , callerInfo etc.. I believe these should be optional right?
Also now I have to set two Parameters out of 10 parameters the project takes, If I add additional /Par Project.starttime , will the package pick the values passed from this prompt?
