Translating months to Spanish equivalent

Hey all -
Simple yet elusive problem. I have a query looping over a
list of articles for one of my websites. Some of these articles are
in Spanish. Next to each article title is the date of the article.
I'm using a standard DateFormat to do this:
#dateformat(query.ArticleDate, "mmmm yyyy")#
That ArticleDate is a smalldatetime data type in my SQL
Server. Is there anyway to avoid a complex CFIF (or cfswitch)
checking the results of #dateformat(query.ArticleDate, "mmmm
yyyy")# and replacing them with the Spanish equivalent?
Gracias.

set the locale to your preferred locale, for example (cf7):
<cfset oldLocale=setLocale("es_ES")>
then simply format it using the one of the LS methods:
#lsDateFormat(query.ArticleDate, "mmmm yyyy")#
though i strongly urge you to stick w/the standard masks
(FULL, LONG, MEDIUM,
SHORT)--you'll never be able to parse that custom mask back
to the original
datetime object if you ever have to.

    The only other thing I can suggest is to use the Repair option for iTunes.
    Download the iTunes programme (do not uninstall your current iTunes) and then "install" the new copy. At some stage you should see an option to "install" or "Repair". Take the Repair option.
    Once you've done that, if you still have a problem, I don't know what else to suggest, except to search through the discussions to see if anyone else has had the problem and managed to fix it.

  • Translates automatically to Spanish (which I don't speak)

    Ever since updating to 3.6, my web pages are not automatically in Spanish, and I have to go through the painstaking task of clicking, for each page, translate back to English. This happens even with a site that might have multiple pages, like a TV station, book site (Amazon), Facebook. This is happening with all my already-bookmarked sites, which I've had for ages.
    I do not speak Spanish, have never had Spanish translation, and would never, to the best of my knowledge, change any page to translate to Spanish. I do not have a Spanish surname - far from it, not even remotely!!
    So....why is this happening, and am I gonna have to deal with this for every site I visit? This is ridiculous!!

  • DVD Studio Pro translated subtitle files (Spanish) - which format?

    I have an option to receive one of the following subtitle file formats from a subtitler/translator for DVD Studio Pro:
    - Spruce Text .stl file (text-based file, it will have font size information but you can edit if necessary; color is not specified – you can edit on your end)
    - .stl navigation file with TIFFs or BMP files – the .stl file will contain time code information for each of the TIFFS or BMP (bitmaps). You will not be able to edit the text, font, color, etc. since the TIFFS or BMP files are set graphic images.
    Which is the best path?
    Thanks,
    Chris

    Chris,
    Both are good or bad - it depends on what you intend to do.
    With the text files you're way more flexible, but the quality of the subtitles is a bit below rendered titles and some fonts do either not work with DVDSP or kerning is not that nice. Rendered titles text can't be changed easily except they are 'Layered TIFFs'.
    I always would go the text route as it takes less space and is more flexible.
    In any case you should have a good subtitle editor as a change of timing or text is no real fun within DVDSP.
    I do have an app called TitleExchange which allows to use subtitles both with FCP and DVDSP and you can use FCP to make new timing, text changes, font changes, size changes and view that real time and then send it to DVDSP as an STL text file.
    But there are other apps out there which can do something similar.
    Hope this helps

  • Custom OA page (no personalization) translation from English to Spanish

    Hi,
    Problem Description:
    I have a custom OA page with no personalizations. I need to translate it into "Latin American Spanish".
    The steps I've done as of now are:
    1. Ran the following command from D:\RUP6\jdevbin\jdev\bin>
    XLIFFExtract D:\RUP6\jdevhome\jdev\myprojects\xx\oracle\apps\xxtmg\sl\webui\ExecutionPG.xml -includeSubpackages -mmd_dir D:\RUP6\jdevbin\jdev\lib\ext\jrad\config\mmd -root D:\RUP6\jdevhome\jdev\myprojects\ -xliff_dir D:\temp -source file -languages es-MX
    2. Changed the <target></target> text to Spanish equivalent for all <trans-unit> tags
    3. Ran the following command D:\RUP6\jdevbin\jdev\bin>
    XLIFFImport -username apps -password apps -dbconnection "(DESCRIPTION=(ADDRESS_LIST=(ADDRESS=(PROTOCOL=TCP)(HOST=192.168.139.249)(PORT=1527)))(CONNECT_DATA=(SID=CDEV35)(SERVER=DEDICATED)))" D:\RUP6\jdevhome\jdev\myprojects\xx\oracle\apps\xxtmg\sl\webui\ExecutionPG.xlf
    4. Bounced the server
    5. Selected "Latin American Spanish" and the bottom of the Oracle Apps Login page, and logged in.
    Result:
    The page shows the standard messages and prompts (like Search Region Go button etc) in Spanish, but my custom buttons, labels prompts are still in English.
    I ran the following and I was able to see the translations correctly
    BEGIN
    jdr_utils.printtranslations ('/xx/oracle/apps/xxtmg/sl/webui/ExecutionPG', 'es-MX' );
    END;
    Output snippet:
    <?xml version = '1.0' encoding = 'UTF-8'?>
    <!--DBDRV: -->
    <xliff version="1.0">
    <file datatype="jdr" original="ExecutionPG" source-language="en-US" target-language="es-MX">

    Hi Manoj,
    Have you looked at the Internationlisation section of the dev guide, Ive not done transalations before but this seems to be what you are looking for.
    In the Dev Guide search for Translating Personalizations Stored in MDS and click on Internationalization, then look at the language sections from there you will see a link for Translating Personalizations Stored in MDS. It seems to indicate you need to specify which OAF elements get translated, this is for personalisations but the concept should be the same.

  • Is there a software for InDesign that will translate my english text into spanish text

    I have InDesign files in English text. Is there a software that will translate text into Spanish?

    It's well worth paying someone who knows both languages well to do the translating.
    With software translation, at best, you get a rough translation. At worst, (especially when you can't read the language you are translating to), you could get something like this:

    Hi
    If this is a dumb question - forgive me.
    Note this is for a site that will be in English & Spansih
    (translated pages

    But if I want to include spanish characters on a site do I
    need to replace
    each spanish character with ascii code or is there another

    e.g.
    resúmenes - do i have to enter it into the html as

    Once the pages are uploaded the spanish characters do not

  • Problem with translation of Adobe forms

    Hi Friends,
    Right now I am working with Adobe forms.
    While Translating the forms from English into Spansih I am encountering a problem.
    Even though it is Translated into spanish, if I login in spanish (ES) and see the Text is stil in English.
    the text is in 'TEXT' field.
    Kindly, Help me in solving the problem.
    Regards,
    Xavier.P

    When translating your form MAKE SURE YOU LOGIN TO SAP WITH THE TARGET LANAGUAGE FOR TRANSLATION!
    For example, if you have an english form and want to translate it to spanish, login in spanish, go to SFP and do your translation to spanish. It should have a pop-up shown that says "original language" is English....keep it as that.
    Not sure why it works this way, but it does. I would love to be able to login in English and then simply do all my other translations from there, but it doesn't work that way.

  • R12 Translation process (vs. 11.5)

    Currently, in our 11.5 instance, we run translation within each non-USD set of books at month-end, prior to transfer into our consolidation set of books. The rates used seem "normal" to me:
    - P&L activity at month-end average rate
    - Assets/Liaibilities at month-ending rate
    - Equity at spot-rate of each transaction.
    We are in the process of meeting with an OCS team, and neither they nor us understand how a Reporting Ledger does translation. If, as we're being told, the Report Ledger functions as MRC (which we do NOT use today) and creates translated activity to match what's happening in the primary ledger, then all the P&L activity (for instance) will come over at daily spot rate. At month-end, that approach will produce a different translated USD amount then the approach we take today (using an AVERAGE monthly rate).
    Having the report ledger (at daily rate) during the month would be a good thing, but after month-end, if the total of a given account (at daily rate) differs from the translated month-end average rate for the same set of transactions, we will have grumpy and noisy users to deal with. This is not desirable.
    Questions:
    1) Is there another "Re-Translation" process to re-calc the USD reporting amounts within a Report Ledger?
    2) Has anyone else had this problem, or am I missing some crucial piece of logic or functionality?
    Thanks,

  • BPS Currency Translation with rate from previous year

    Dear All,
    I am trying to use the BPS currency translation function. However, I would like to use an exchange rate from the previous fiscal year, in order to reveal currency effects.
    I would appreciate any help, hopefully regarding ways to mend the standard function. I am afraid a workaround with the FM CONVERT_TO_LOCAL_CURRENCY would end up in a giant crutch.
    Thank you in advance,
    Lars Biederstedt

    Thank you for your answer, Marc.
    I would definitely like to know more about option 1.
    Option 2, a fixed data, would not work, because data had to be translated monthly, with the exchange rate from exactly one year ago. I was really surprised, that you could not enter a variable as a time reference and use offsets, like you can in queries.
    I ended up using an Exit-Function with the function module convert_to_foreign_currency. Unfortunately you cannot change characteristic values with Exit-Function, so I have to repost after every currency translation.
    Anyway, it works.
    Best regards,

    Hi,
    There is no need to create or copy smartforms in different langaguges as we are doing in SAP scripts.
    First please check :"Translate to all language Radio button". (Path: T/code "Smartforms "> enter form name> Form Attributes>Language attributes> set the radio button "Translate to all languages"(allow all languages for translations) or Set radio button to "selected languages" (allow specific languages for translations) and Add Spanish language.
    Translations you can do via T/code SE63:
    Path T/code SE63>Translation(Menubar)>R/# enterprise> Other Long Texts> Select SSF(For Smartforms)-->Enter form name at (Object name) --> enter Source language and Destination language.

  • Doubt in translation of text elements.

    Hi All,
             I have text elements maintained in english in a report and I need to translate them to spanish. how can I do this. one way I know is manually translating each and every text in SE63 to spanish is this correct? suggest me if there is any easier way 2 do this.
    thanx in advance,

    You can go to SE63 or from the text elements screen - Goto - Translation.
    - If you have checked the dictionary option for SELECT-SCREEN or PARAMETERS , then during the translation , u ll find the corresponding texts automaticallu populated for them.
    - For all the text elements ( other than sel scr  & dict checked)  - u ll have to manually create them and Save.
    Unfortunately there is no short cut to this method - for ur info u can refer to DD04T and T100 in case u want to search SAp stnd lingo .. for rest of the words - Google is the only way out !!!
