Translation label help

Can you tell me what object I need to search for to find the Packaging tab on the input items section of a step in a formulation (on the process tab)?
I need enter a custom translation for that text.
Thanks!!
David

You should be able to find your translation in the ctlStepSummary/ctlInputGrid cache, which is within the frmFormulation/CtlStepsIndex cache, or something similar.
The Packaging tab translation should be btnPkgInputs

I had Google translator on my toolbar before the upgrade to the new Firefox. I am now told that it is not compatible. What can I do? I need a translator on my toolbar. Can I go back to the previous version of Firefox.

    Hello,
The number of tiles is now determined on screen size - if you zoom out or expand the window you can have more tiles appear.
If you want to set a fixed number of tiles, you can do so with the following extension:
    * https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/new-tab-tools/
You can also see '''jscher2000''''s Chosen Solution here: https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/questions/1025414
It requires the [https://addons.mozilla.org/firefox/addon/stylish/ Stylish] add-on but will automatically shrink the tiles on the page:
    * https://userstyles.org/styles/106326/shrink-new-tab-thumbnails
In the Firefox configuration the limit is set to 3 rows by 5 columns as maximum (if you zoom out the page/shrink the tile sizes sufficiently, the number of tiles are limited to that setting). If you want to change those values:
    # In the [[Location bar autocomplete|Location bar]], type '''about:config''' and press '''Enter'''. The about:config "''This might void your warranty!''" warning page may appear.
    # Click '''I'll be careful, I promise!''' to continue to the about:config page.
    # Search for and modify the preferences (by double clicking the row, or right clicking the row and selecting '''Modify''')
    #* '''browser.newtabpage.columns'''
    #* '''browser.newtabpage.rows'''
Let us know if that helps.

  • Polish translation of Help

I have translated all the Help of Oracle SQL Developer to the Polish language (version 2.1.2) with the Index. I made this translation as a jar file to place instead of original sqldeveloper_help file.
Is there any way to place this translation to download?
Can I get any gratification from Oracle for my work?

Product Management make the call on translations and release schedules. I've let them know.

  • Translation of Help Documentation

    Hello Everyone,
We are using Nakisa v4.0 and a live build. What we have done so far through the guidance on SCN discussions, we have achieved to activate a language (Norwegian) and translated it to Turkish which is what our client demands. Here we have a little problem. When I open the user interface, there is Help Documentation on the right pane and although we have translated %99 of the texts in caption editor including the texts in help documentation which I have checked already, that part stays the same either English or Norwegian. Is that part needs some other configuration or anything related to be edited in the file system part such as XML's ?
    Appreciate your answers,
    Regards.

    Tunc.
From your last post that it suggests that it is the online documentation link that you are trying to get to work and that the remaining help panel content is correctly translated.
    Q) Is that a correct assumption?
When I checked the XSL file I could see the Help_Dir_App_Path_sp2 being used for the URL.
So if you have created a Turkish translation* of the online help, you need to set the
Help_Dir_App_Path_sp2 caption to point to the location of this documentation.  My suggestion of changing the "en" to "tr" was just an example and was based on where I would assume you would have put it based on existing conventions.
    * If you haven't created a Turkish translation and the Norwegian language option also points to the English online help location then it may be that there was no Norwegian translation included in the language pack.  I've never looked for it so I'm afraid I've no idea if it is there or not ... but if it were included (and there was just an omission in the language pack updating that caption entry) I would expect to see an "no" sub-directory in the "help" directory.  The web page files in the help sub directory are ones that you would be considering translating to Turkish ... they are not updated by caption changes.
When you change a caption it adds/updates an entry to/in a file in your build configuration.  Once your build is published this new caption should be picked up automatically by OrgChart and the help panel should use the new URL.
Hopefully that makes sense, but if not, it is probably worth including an annotated screen shot as per my previous suggestion just to make sure we really understand what the issue is and what exactly you have translated so far.
    i.e.
Is it Turkish online help that you want to link to?
Have you created the Turkish online help files?
Is there somewhere else on the help panel that you are not getting the Turkish translation appearing?
    Regards,
    Stephen.

  • Bulk entry of label help text

    Hi all,
Is there a way to enter help text for labels 'en masse'. The product manager for one of our applications wants to go through and put new help text on every label.
This is obviously a fairly tedious and time consuming task and I was wondering if there was a simpler way than going through the application and finding each item and setting the text? The manager is definitely 'non-technical' and frankly I'd be wary of letting him have direct access to the application definition, yet I don't really want to spend ages entering all this help text myself!
    Any thoughts anyone?
    Cheers,
    Steve H

    Steve,
You can achieve this in bulk via the built-in application reports:
Appilcation > Application Reports > Page Components > Item Help Text
It's a really easy process so you shouldn't have any issues for a non-techie doing it (although a backup is never a bad idea!!). By default, the report only displays items that currently have help text, so you have the option to 'Seed Item Help Text' with some default text. Once this is done, you have access to all item's help text's for the application.

  • Item label help no longer allows HTML

    Hi.
Moved to V4 from V3. The help text when displayed now escapes the HTML I have in place. I use DB functions to return help text (which include HTML markup) into a "hidden"-type field. That is then used in the help text definition for another item (i.e. P500_ITEM's help text field defined as "&P500_ITEM_HELP."). This worked in 3 but in new version, thw HTML is escaped. I have researched all the XSS, "save session state", display-only, etc. stuff I could find but there seems to be no solution.
How can I get HTML markup to render in the new-style JQuery Help dialogs in Apex 4?
    Thanks.

  • Translation Hub - Help needed urgent

    Hi,
I am new to translation hub. i created a sample form in 10G (English) and using the translation hub tool i want to convert the same form to french language.
For that i created a base project & imported the file to the project. i changed the OS System Locale to French and from the menu chose 'update translation project' and a new translation project gets created. Opened the translation project in the translation hub but couldn't find the translation string in french. build the translated file and open the form in 10G. i couldnot find anything in french language. is there anything more to do inorder to get the form converted into the foriegn language or am i using the wrong tool for this?
    Thanks in advance.

You will need to manually enter the translated string into the Translation Hub. For example, if you double-click on a text string in the Terminology window of your translation project, a 'Terminology Translation' pop-up window will open. You can paste a French translation into this window. Then you can build the translated file, and the translated text will show up on the form.

  • Apex 3.0 Q: "Optional Label with Help" default when creating new form?

When I create a new application, usually one of the first things I do is set the default item label to "Optional", so I don't have the annoying popup help link.
Now, when you create a new Form region, based on a table, for all the items the label is set to "Optional label with help". Am I right in hoping this is something that was overlooked when developing Apex, and that it will be fixed in version 3.0, so that it sets the items to the default label as set in the Shared Components?
And is there a way to change the labels for a lot of items at the same time, other than changing the theme templates?

AFAIK, label help in default manner is based on column coments of a table.
Later there is now way to easy reedit these values but manually...

  • Help needed for translation of custom objects

    Hi All,
We are currently in the process of upgrading from 11i to R12.1.3. We have a lot of custom reports and forms which needs to be translated based on language preference set at user level. The approach we have taken is as follows:
    1. Created one unique look up type for each of the custom objects.
    2. Each lookup code is mapped to a field of the custom object (report or form).
    3. Entered the translation for each of the lookup codes using Globe icon (Translation Form) available on the lookup form.
    4. When the user logs into his account, we are filterting out the record specific to user environment language using the condition:
language of fnd_lookup_values = usernev('lang') and getting the translated labels for each of the fields in the custom object.
Now what we would like to understand is if there is any other better way of doing translation based on user preferred language.
We have heard about Oracle Translation Manager (OTM) but not sure how the same can be used in our case. Also we would like to know how Oracle does translation for the languages that are enabled in a particular instance. We would like to know if a similar approach can be followed for custom objects as well.
    Thanks & Regards,

We had the arrayList/collections lecture today.
I asked the teacher about sorting objects and he started explaining hashmaps and then he mentioned another thing which we will only be learning next term, I'm sure we must only use what we have learned.
How exactly can this be done. I have asked a few questions in the post already.
ThanksWell, there was probably a gap in the communication. Hash maps (or hash tables, etc.) are instance of Map. Those are used to locate a value by its unique key. Generally, to speed up access, you implement a hashing function (this will be explained hopefully in class). Think of name-value pairs that are stored where the name is unique.
Contrast this with items that are sorted. Any List can be sorted because its elements are ordered. An ArrayList is ordered, generally, by the order you inserted the elements. However, any List can be given its own ordering via Comparable or Comparator. You can't do this with an ordinary Map. The purpose of a Map is speedy access to the name-value pairs, not sorting. The List likewise has different purposes, advantages, disadvantages, etc. List can be sorted.
A Map is generally similar to a Set. A Set is a vanilla collection that guarnatees uniqueness of each element (note, not name-value pairs, but simple elements). There is one concrete class of Map that can be sorted, TreeMap, but I doubt your professor was referring to that. The values or the keys can be returned from the Map and sorted separately, but again, I doubt he was referring to that.
Take a look at the Collections tutorial here on this site or Google one. It is fairly straightforward. Just keep in mind that things (generally) break down into Set, Map and List. There are combinations of these and different flavors (e.g., Queue, LinkedHashMap, etc.) But if you can learn how those three differ, you will go a long way towards understanding collections.
(Oh, and be sure to study up on iterators.)
