Translator.zip and Classes111.zip for Thin-JDBC

In Jdeveloper 2.0,
Translator.zip
and classes111.zip for Thin-JDBC Doesn't exist.
Why?
null

David,
It depends on which version of the Thin-JDBC driver you want to
use.
For 8.1.4:
aurora\lib\classes111.zip
For 8.0.5:
jdbc\lib\oci8\classes111.zip
For 7.3.x:
jdbc\lib\oci7\classes111.zip
Even though the directories say 'oci', the classes111.zip files
contain both OCI and thin drivers.
I'm not sure what the translator.zip file is that you're trying
to locate. This isn't mentioned in the JDBC doc.

  • Classes12.jar and Classes111.jar

Can anyone please update me Classes12.jar and Classes111.jar are which JDBC driver types?
    What's the difference between Classes12.jar and Classes111.jar?

Oracle provides 2 major drivers, the "thin" and "thick"(or "oci" )
As the name implies, the "thin" drivers is light weight (1.9 MB) and 100% written in java. Wheareas the "thick" driver is written in native language such as C. You need a Oracle Client or Database installtion to use the thick driver.
"Thin" driver is packaged as classes12.jar (for use with JDK 1.2 or 1.3) [use classes111.jar for JDK 1.1] and is placed in ORACLE_HOME/jdbc/lib directory.
    So classes111 and classes12 each contain a thick OCI(type2) and thin(type4) driver.
I've also heard it said that if your connecting to Oracle9 then you should use
classes12 (along with jdk1.2/1.3), but I've seen it work with classes111 and jdk1.1.

  • Thin JDBC through firewall - what ports need to be open?

We are running Oracle 7.3, and Oracle Web Server on the same
computer. The firewall is set up to allow connections to that
computer from anywhere, on ports 80 and 1521.
Our thin JDBC applet works perfectly from inside the firewall,
but from outside, I get a time-out error trying to open the JDBC
    connection.
What else needs to be done get JDBC through? Do other ports need
to be open on the firewall?
The JDBC FAQ mentions a "Net8 compliant" or "SQLNet certified"
firewall - is that relevant to this problem, and if so, what does
    it really mean?
We are supposed to be operational right now, so many many thanks
    for any help on this!

  • SQLJ in Oracle 10.1.0.2 missing translator.zip file

    Hi Friends
I have installed Oracle 10.1.0.2 on my system and trying to use the SQLJ feature.
The Translator.zip file which contains the SQLJ library is missing after the installation.
The path where it is supposed to be present is as below
    F:\oracle\product\10.1.0\Db_1\sqlj\lib
Does the Oracle 10.1.0.2 supports SQLJ feature and why is the translator.zip file missing.
Can you please let me know if this feature is currently supported for this specific oracle version.
Is there any problem in the installation or some other issue.
Please let me know if anybody has faced this issue previously and any help would be very helpful.
    Thanks & Regards
    Vikram K

Oracle Database 10.anything is in desupport mode. This is a really bad time to begin implementation and development with such an old version.
My recommendation would be to remove what you installed and install 11.2.0.1 which you can download from http://otn.oracle.com.

  • Ptg10220patch.zip for linux

Is there a ptg uppgrade for Linux (RH 6.2)
    When will it be released?

    Developer Team:
Just want to report that IBM JDK 1.1.8 'seems' work fine in Linux with sqlj.
    I tried : %sqlj -version
and it gives me the version:
    "Oracle SQLJ Release 8.1.6.0.0 Production"
I also tried to compile some sqlj files. It does compile and gives several files as output.
One problem I don't understand. When I tried to set the CLASSPATH to seek for "translator.zip" under $ORACLE_HOME/sqlj/lib, the system complains:
    "/usr/oracle/sqlj/lib/translator.zip: Permission denied"
This is STRANGE. It can't load the CLASSPATH to the translator.zip, but sqlj does the compiling for the ".sql" files. Is this behavior OK? Should I just ignore it?
PS. About the permission denied problem, I tried to change the permission using chmod. Still doesn't work.
PPS. Facts about the system being discussed:
    Oracle8i 8.1.6 release 2
    Linux Redhat 7
    Thanks.

  • Cann't access oracle 9i with thin jdbc and applet

    Hi..
I write thin jdbc applet and application programs..
    application programs works well..
    but applet cann't connect...
    error messages below..
    access denied (java.util.PropertyPermission oracle.jserver.version read)
web server and dbms server are on same machine...
applet programs is in the demo applet program of oracle's installation folders...
    I hope your comment...
    thanks..

    Hi Hyun,
This is basically just a guess -- since you didn't provide a lot of information (in my opinion) -- but I assume that "oracle.jserver.version" is some "System" property.
Due to the security restrictions placed on an applet (and which aren't imposed on an application), an applet cannot access all of the "System" properties -- only some of them (like "java.version", for example). So that's why (I think) your application works, but your applet doesn't.
There are several workarounds for overcoming an applet's security restrictions -- the most popular (as far as I know) is to "sign" your applet. There are many Internet resources available that explain how to "sign" an applet -- a simple Internet search will be more than enough to get you going (if that's at all relevant to your situation).
    Hope this has helped you.
    Good Luck,
    Avi.

  • Docx, xlsx, pptx files download as zip for some browser

    Dear all,
I find that docx, xlsx, pptx files will download as zip for some browser.
Would like to know if it related to the MIME setting for portal, if it is where can I change the setting?
    Thanks in advance
    Regards
    Bill

    Hi Bill,
Technically, these files are zip files. However, in your case I assume the browser doesn't recognize the file type since NetWeaver hasn't provided a MIME type and therefore tries to be 'intelligent'...
Have a look at SAP note 1062725 (https://service.sap.com/sap/support/notes/1062725) this might solve your issue

  • 7-Zip for Mac?

I use 7-Zip for Windows, and I am astounded at the quality of the compression (sometimes down to 55% of the original size). Is there such an alternative for Mac?
At the moment, I have a few DMGs, which would fit onto a DVD-9 but not a DVD-5. I can't get any good DVD-9s without ordering them online, and I don't want to go through that hassle for a spindle of 10 or 20. In addition, 7-zip would be an excellent format for archiving old data. Is there a mac version?

  • Install Weblogic 12c zip for developement on Windows 7

I have downloaded wls1211_dev.zip for development purpose (instead of full install using windows installer), for installing on the windows 7 (64 bit). After extracting the zip contents, I set up the environment variables for JAVA_HOME, MW_HOME and JAVA_VENDOR as stated in the readme.txt included in the zip distribution. I also made sure to set the environment variables using 8.3 names (old DOS names) by using dir /x command. Here are the environmental settings:
    E:\WLS12c>echo %JAVA_HOME%
    C:\PROGRA~1\Java\JDK17~1.0_0\bin
    E:\WLS12c>echo %MW_HOME%
    E:\WLS12c
    E:\WLS12c>echo %JAVA_VENDOR%
    Sun
But every time I run configure.cmd, I get the following error:
(I checked the permissions on the directory where I have unzipped and it is full control for me (not an administrator user). I tried to run the configure.cmd using administrative user but the same result). I can also navigate to the directories using 8.3 names. I am able to create delete and update files and folder in the target directories as non-administrative user. I have no idea why I should be getting the following errors.
WebLogic Server 12c (12.1.1.0) Zip Configuration

I will appreciate your help in this regard.

    Hi,
This issue usually occurs when you install WebLogic Server using generic jar installer and when launching installation with incorrect JDK version. It may be improper JDK installation or incorrect JAVA HOME setup at OS level.
To resolve this issue, uninstall current WebLogic installation using generic.jar installer that is referring incorrect JDK and relaunch the installation with correct JDK by setting correct JAVA HOME system variables. Below are steps to be followed to address this issue.
    Un-install WebLogic from your machine.
If the installer is on a network drive it's recommended to copy the generic installer to your local file system and to a folder with no spaces or strange characters.
Remove the system variables you've set: JAVA_HOME, JAVA_VENDOR, and remove the %JAVA_HOME%\bin from the path system variable.
    Run the installer as follows:
    Open a command prompt
Change directory to \JDK_64\bin folder and execute:
    java.exe -jar -Xms1024m server1001_generic.jar
After the installation is completed you can proceed to safely run the Configuration Wizard (config.cmd)

  • Connection sharing for embedded JDBC and DatabaseController

<p> </p><p>I would like to share an existing JDBC connection with the DatabaseController (i.e. same session in database).  Basically I need to call a stored proc in the JSP page then use the same (already established and open) connection for the DatabaseController to run the report.</p><p>Is that possible?  If so, can you give me a brief example.  I&#39;m well versed in Java, but not at all in CR.  I&#39;m trying to help evaluate the effort to merge existing web application code with CR reports.  The company has many existing CR files that I would like to "take to the web", but the underlying database uses session information and VPD for security.</p><p>For reference I&#39;m using an Oracle 10g database.  I would also welcome an answer that uses connection pooling and I could simply hand out pooled connections to the DatabaseController.</p><p>Thanks! <br /></p><p> </p><p> </p>

<p>Hi, </p><p>      Unfortunately there currently is no way to pass a JDBC connection to the report at runtime (this would be a great idea to track under the enhancement requests forum section). That being said there are other options you can do to get connection pooling functionality within your application. Probably the easiest way is to use JNDI. This will allow the application server to handle the Connection Pool. There is an optional property of the database connection of a report which allows the report designer to specify a JNDI lookup name. At runtime the report will look for this lookup name first prior to attempting to make the JDBC connection.</p><p>You can look at this comment on another question for instructions on how to set the JNDI optional name:</p><p><u><strong><a href="/node/483#comment-79">http://diamond.businessobjects.com/node/483#comment-79</a></strong></u>  </p><p>Another option is for you to pass in a java.sql.ResultSet at runtime to the report. It sounds like you are already making a JDBC connection at runtime so it shouldn&#39;t be too difficult for you to add the SQL query statement to populate a ResultSet. Once you have the ResultSet populated you can pass it into the report. In fact the wizard which is outlined on the comment listed above has a screenshot of the wizard which will generate the code at runtime to view a report. If you select the option in the wizard to "<strong>Populate the report with a java.sql.ResultSet"</strong> it will generate the necessary code stub to demonstrate how this will work.</p><p>The only downside to passing in the resultset at runtime is that it requires the entire dataset to be populated prior to passing it to the report. If the dataset is relatively small the performance impact will likely be acceptable, however if you start getting in to the tens of thousands of records then you may start seeing some performance implications. </p><p>Hope this helps. Let me know if you have any follow-up questions. </p><p>Regards,<br />Sean Johnson (CR4E Product Manager) </p>

We have to create our data structure based on the existing database table structure. While reading or writing , JDBC adapter convert our data type structure in to SQL Query Statements that matches Table structure.
