Transparent flv creation plug in

Hi Guys
I am looking to find a plug in or stand alone application
that will allow you to take a series of images such as Targa files
with alpha channel and then create an flv with a transparent
background. I have used Adobe After effects in the past which is
great but its a very expensive package to buy when all i really
want it for is making transparent flvs.
Does anyone know any other programs or plugins?
Many thanks
Trevor

This place is great. It has all the answers and prices I was
hoping for:
https://www.playstream.com/default.aspx
They are VitalStream's "kid brother".
Thanks for nothing flvhosting.com!!!

  • Regarding transparent gif creation

To anyone who knows more about this subject, I'm looking for some sample code.
I've been having trouble redrawing an image as a gif while introducing transparent regions.
The following method results in blackness where the transparency should be:
The next method accomplishes the transparency, but the non-transparent areas suffer in quality (I am drawing a BufferedImage of an outdoor scene after the transparency is drawn - it come out grainy). I think this is because in creating a new ColorModel to establish the transparent pixels, the original colors are approximated.
        [m-10305410]
Can anyone show me how to establish a transparent gif with the original quality of the non-transparent areas preserved?
    Thanks.

I think I can accomplish what you suggest by creating the bufferedImage as type TYPE_INT_ARGB.
Although it doesn't show the creation of the BufferedImage in the first link of the two above, specifying TYPE_INT_ARGB doesn't seem to make a difference.
The second link seems to provide a way around this by setting the transparency through use of a new ColorModel.
This is guesswork. If it's a false assumption that initializing a BufferedImage with TYPE_INT_ARGB provides alpha support, let me know.
    By grainy, I mean pixelated.
The code I used can be found at:
I had posted the subject there earlier, but I think I didn't get to the point soon enough (no replies).
You can cut and paste that code and try the two methods bWITH_TRANSPARENCY=true & bWITH_TRANSPARENCY=false and see the difference in the quality of the images produced. Just change "c:\\myjpg.jpg"; to point at a JPG file on your system.

  • Exporting a masked transparent  FLV from PSD

A few days ago, i exported a quicktime Animation from
photoshop which had a mask around an object so that the outside of
the object was masked and transparent. encoded to FLV and imported
to Flash and it worked fine. There was something about it I decided
to change the next day, but I haven't been able to repeat the
process and get the transparency in the video.
I am placing it on the stage over a background image fro a
    website.
Please help, it is driving me nuts.

I tried importing the whole PSD document instead of the
animation export and it seems to do the trick.
making video from layers in import, now if I can get the
animation to loop, I'd be in heaven.

Hi everybody and happy new year to you all,
i got a little problem again. I have written the first lines of code of my plugin and wanted to test it (run as Eclipse Application). I got the following error-msg, when clickin either on the menu item or toolbar button:

  • FLV creation

So Adobe has stopped supporting their own format FLV in Media Encoder now in 2014.
Removal of FLV and F4V export features from Adobe Media Encoder, After Effects, and Premiere Pro
    http://blogs.adobe.com/aftereffects/2014/06/removal-flv-f4v-swf-export-adobe-media-encoder -after-effects-premiere-pro.htmlhttp://
So how do I export my video reference FLV out of Premiere Pro (using Media Encoder) and bring into Flash Pro and place it on the timeline now? You guys basically just broke the entire workflows.
Sounds like one hand doesn't talk to the other over there.

You posted to the wrong forum for Yosemite.  If you are running Yosemite, the operating system in your signature, numerous FLV players exist for Mac OS X on the Mac App Store.  Usually any Adobe Flash Player enabled web browser should be able to open the FLV file.  Quicktime Player does not do Flash.  There are converters to MPEG-4 formats which Quicktime can handle.   Mac OS X 10.3.x and earlier, the forum you posted to can only run older versions of Flash, and can't run on the MacBook Air.   If you intent to play the FLV file on your 10.3 machine, convert it to MPEG-1 first on the MacBook Air, and then it should work on your 10.3 machine.  Mind you MPEG-1 files tend to be very large and take a long time to convert to.   Using Sorenson compression if possible can help for those older Macs.

  • Question: how to get the adobe plug in to play a downloaded flv file ?

I want to know how to get the flv adobe plug in which i downloaded as a result abc or nbc or cbs.com i forget exactly which said i had to and also it seems to be used for playing most all videos from web such as those from utube, hulu, etc. So my question is how do i get the plug in to play any downloaded *.flv video ?  The particulars on the one i have is:
    Output folder: C:\WINDOWS\system32\Macromed\Flash
    Execute: "C:\WINDOWS\system32\Macromed\Flash\uninstall_plugin.exe"
    Extract: NPSWF32.dll
    Extract: NPSWF32_FlashUtil.exe
    Extract: flashplayer.xpt
also perhaps FLVPlayer.swf of about 9Kb may have something to do with it?
And the latest update i have was about jan 13 when it seemed to automatically take over my system and update itself.x
I know it has the ability to do what i want- which is full screen cropped ,change aspect ratios etc. and seems
It has to be able to or else it could not play the files and give those options which it does on some videos like from utube etc. in the first place. Unfortuneately it has something also to do with the useless *.swf files which are apparently of no use to anything and could certainly be eliminated .
I have downloaded several freebie flv players such as bs player etc. etc. but they all have so many faults and are not suitable. Bs player does what i want but it hangs , have to go to system mgr. to get out of it sometimes , often difficult to use etc.etc. The main features is i need is to be able to make and play playlists to automatically in full screen one after the other in a specified order with NO user intervention and the ability to magnify or 'pan in' i guess they call it and change aspect ratios so that i can have full screen as if just cropping part of horizontal such as if want to view a 16/9 aspect ratio on a computer as i have with the prior standard 4/3 aspect and change a downloaded vertically stretched to a cropped instead etc.
Also it doesn't make sense to download others and take up disk space when already have the adobe - also adobe seems to be the only one that plays hulu flv's correctly - on other flv players the video and audio are way out of sync and not just by few seconds but often by a minute or more. I know there is another 'pain' way to do it which is create a *.avi or other extension with loss of clarity etc. which have done but would like to be able to just do it in real time while playing the flv file itself as for example
    as bs player does.
Anyway if there is no way to get adobe to do this does anyone know of any other free flv player downloads which will do what
i want - basically playlists, magnify , pan, crop and still full screen, change aspect ratios -  other than bs player ?

The plugin is what it is: a browser plugin - it cannot act as a standalone player.
To play local flv files you either need to
download/install the standalone player (Projector) from http://www.adobe.com/support/flashplayer/downloads.html
    download/install Adobe Media Player http://www.adobe.com/products/mediaplayer/

  • Quicktime 7.1.3 not showing the Flash FLV Exporter option.

I have a macbook with FCP 5.1.2, Quicktime 7.1.3 and Flash Pro 8 installed.
The same as with my G5, but different release of FCP (FCP 4.5 HD in G5)
On my G5 all is fine. I see the FLV export plug in.
The problem is in my Macbook : I can't see the FLV export plug option in Quicktime (export) nor in FCP (file>export>via Qt conversion).
I've made the same installation process in both machines.
Perhaps a problem with the Flash 8 Professional installation on Intel Macs ?
    (That installation was well finished)
Anyway, I can encode with the FLV standalone encoder that comes with Flash 8 pro, but sometimes the plug in is a shortcut way to get a FLV file on the fly.
Could anyone help me to resolve that situation ?
Many thanks in advance. I always got a solution from you Guys!
    Daniel

    QuickTimeKirk, thanks for the reply.
Yes, I think as you that the problem is from FLV exporter from Flash 8. It is not Universal. I will not go backward with QT. I prefer to wait until the UB Flash 8 Pro see the light..... or Flash Pro 9 (for sure it will be Universal)
    Thanks again !

  • Transparent Gif Background?

    Hello,
I've been trying to make a gif with a transparent background, however I've been having a few problems with it.
While the gif does start fine and the background is transparent at the beginning, after a few frames the background color would come up and then after a few frames more it'll be transparent again, then colored again.
It's really troubling since I've been stalking every forum I could find on the subject, however my research had deemed fruitless.
The best I could find out is that when I change its palette on the 'Publish settings' to either Web 216 or Web Snap Adaptive--the background stays transparent! However in return, the colors of the gif turn really ugly. The only palette setting I could go with that won't ruin its colors is 'Adaptive' of course, but I really want it to be transparent and it would absolutely not give me that choice. The other option for the palette choice is Custom which also makes the background transparent--however I don't know what palette to use for it since even if I chose the photo itself as a palette resource the colors still come out undesireable. I'm not really sure what the best 'palette choice' is for custom. (do you have a specific file to use for that?)
Anyways I would love it if I could get some help figuring this out! It seems simple enough, but I really can't for the love of me figure it out.

Normally in transparent GIF creation only one color can be used to define the transparency.  It sounds like somewhere along the line your background color is changing such that it no longer matches the transparency color.

  • Alpha channel video makes for a larger-than-target bitrate flv

I'm looking for some information regarding the final bitrate of alpha channel encoded video. We are producing transparent flvs. When targeting a number, say 200kbps, in Adobe Media Encoder, the final encoded flvs has a bitrate of sometimes as high as 350kbps or 400kbps. And that's just the video.
When I encode without the alpha channel with final flv video bitrate is basically exactly what I targeted.
I'm assuming GSpot and MediaInfo to look at the final flvs.
Why doesn't Media Encoder produce and flv at the target bitrate? Why the higher bitrate? Is there a way to set the final target for an flv? Is there better software?
    Thanks,

Since the lounge is for non-technical discussions, you need to start at
http://forums.adobe.com/community/premiere and select the forum for the product you are using
I will GUESS you are using some flavor of Premiere Pro, so that is most likely where you should post

  • Adobe premiere cc .flv format not supported

    Hello,
When I import .flv format file. Error: not supported.
    Can I help you?
    Thanks,
    Max

Sorry to hear of your issue, but did see that you were able to roll-back, and get with your Project.
FLV Import support has been a bit of a mixed bag. Going back several versions of PrPro, one could purchase an inexpensive, and very good, FLV Importer plug-in from Moyea, a 3rd party supplier of many things FLV-related. Then, with PrPro CS 4, that plug-in would not function, though with about the second update to CS 4, Adobe did add FLV Import support, with just a few limitations.
Then, Apple declared war on Flash, and recently, Adobe dropped FLV Import with CC. Wonder if they are trying to "make nice" with Apple?
I sort of doubt that Moyea, or anyone else, will write an FLV Import plug-in, as CC will be constantly changing, and I am not sure that such effort will be rewarded with adequate sales.
I am also surprised by Adobe's dropping FLV Import, but that was how I felt, when I found that Encore had been dropped. Finding out the reason for Encore's demise did not diminish my sadness, but that is just how it goes in the changing world of video. Now, with streaming content being the big focus nowadays, I wonder if Adobe is sending a somewhat subliminal message about the future of Flash?
Just some thoughts, and at least I have some older versions of PrPro, and that old Moyea plug-in, should I ever need to Import FLV's.
Also, thanks for stating your workflow, regarding FLV's, as that makes perfect sense.
    Good luck,
    Hunt

  • How to Validate Transparent Alpha Channel in .mov File?

I'm trying to create transparent flv files to embed in Abobe Captivate.
I shot and keyed some test greenscreen (yes, I have the checkerboard in the canvas) and have tried exporting it a number of ways (rendered/unrendered, recompressed all frames/not, etc, etc) and converted it to flv a number of ways (change mov to flv, encoding software), but when I embed it and play it back I have a black background.
How can I validate that my .mov file contains the alpha channel and it's transparent?
Second, when the .mov is correct, will changing .mov to .flv keep the transparent alpha channel or do I need us encoding software with a codec that supports transparent alpha, e.g., On2 V6?
I'm pulling my hair out here...

Hi - To validate your exported (Animation codec, Millions of Colors+ ?) Qt movie has the alpha quickly, re-import the exported movie back into FCP and load it to the viewer with the viewer set to display checkerboard as a background.
    Can't help with the rest.

  • Premiere sees .flv video file as only audio

Hi, I'm on Premiere Pro CS 4.2.1.
When I import this particular flv file into Premiere, it sees it as an audio file, rather than a video file. I assume I am missing a codec, or perhaps it was encoded with something that doesn't work with Premiere. However, I can open and play the file properly using Adobe Media Player, so the file itself is not broken.
Here's what MediaInfo reveals about the file. Anything obvious here that would be causing the problem?

    Ed,
There can be one of several CODEC's inside of the FLV wrapper. Your PrPro CS 4.2.1 should natively handle some, though possibly not all. You might want to look at Moyea, as they offer several FLV editing/conversion solutions. Note: through PrPro CS 3, Moyea had a great plug-in, Premiere FLV Importer. Things changed with CS 4, and that plug-in no longer worked, but by about the second, or maybe the third update to CS 4, native support for some FLV CODEC's was incorporated into the program - but there are probably some missing from that native support. Still, Moyea might have just what you need. I have also used a freeware program, FLV to AVI, but did not need that, when I discovered the Premiere FLV Importer plug-in, up through PrPro CS 3.
    Good luck,
    Hunt

  • Create a video overlay on an flv

    Hi
I'm new to FMS and have a question
I know it's possible to capture a webcam and save it down to
    file
    But is it possible to:
    • Record a stream from a webcam
    • Then superimpose a transparent flv over the top
    • Then save this down as 1 flv on the server?
    Any help would be appreciated
    Cheers
    Andy

    Thanks for the response
Are you aware of any way this could be done?
I've looked into FFMpeg but I can only apply a transparent
image with this as if i overlay a video with ffmpeg the
transparency doesn't work by using libavfilter

  • FLV files with PE9.

I have made a FLV with PE9 but can I import one and use it for editing?
The message I get when I try is it is "not supported or has not the appropriate codec". Does this mean another codec might make it work?

    Ted,
You might want to look into some of the products from Moyea. They have a lot of FLV tools.
PrPro, up to about CS 3 could use the Moyea FLV Importer plug-in (works great in PrPro) to Import most FLV's. As of CS 4, that plug-in would no longer work. With about PrPro CS 4.2.1, that program will now natively support most FLV's, but not those using the Sorensen Spark CODEC.
Moyea never developed a plug-in for PrE, though they were working on one. About the time that PrPro added FLV support, that project was dropped, last I heard.
    Good luck,
    Hunt
