Transport KM documents?

All,
I need to transport some KM documents (HTML files and graphics) from DEV to QA and Production. They are used in some of my Portal iViews.
Is there a way to transport the KM documents? I do not see I mechanism to include them in a Portal Transport export package.

Hello Alan,
Do you need a sheduled transport? If so you can use the way of content syndicator and content subscriber.

Please keep in mind that all these transport mechanism do not transport all metadata. For example the service permissions.

Transport a document in KM

Hello ,
I am on EP7.0 NW04s and uploaded a pdf document in the KM repository in the DEV system ...now I need to transport it to the QAT system's KM repository....
what's the best way to do this....?

U can use webdav to transport ur document
1.Browse to Content Administration  KM Content
2.Browse to a folder where you want to upload files (e.g., Entry Points  Personal Documents  MyDocuments)
3.Select the menu icon on the folder where you wish to upload the files.
4.Choose Details.
5.Choose Settings  Properties
6.Choose the Access links tab.
7.Locate the WebDAV URL.
8.Select the URL and copy (CRTL-C) to the clipboard.
9.Open a Windows Explorer instance.
10.Choose Tools  Map Network Drive.
11.From the dropdown menu, select the drive letter where your files are located.
12.For Windows XP, Select Sign up for online storage or connect to a network server link
13.For Windows 2000, select the Web folder or FTP site link.
14.In the Type the location of the Network Place field, paste the WebDAV URL location
You may need to truncate the end of the path if it is too long. For example the path http://nspad234:50000/irj/servlet/prt/portal/prtroot/com.sap.km.cm.docs/userhome/ KellyR /Personal%20Documents/My%20Documents needs to be truncated to http://nspad234:50000/irj/servlet/prt/portal/prtroot/com.sap.km.cm.docs/userhome/KellyR/Personal%20Documents/
15.If the WebDAV URL begins with http://localhost change it to http://[name of the server] (that is sap.com)
16.If the WebDAV URL contains spaces replace the spaces with %20. For example, you would replace /Personal Documents with /Personal%20Documents
17.Choose Next.
18.Enter your user for the Portal when the prompt appears and select OK.
19.Enter a name for the Network Place and select Finish
Upload Files to the WebDAV folder
1.Open Windows Explorer with Start  Programs  Accessories  Windows Explorer
2.Navigate to the WebDAV folder you created.
3.Drag and drop the files on the drive you mapped in the previous step
4.Repeat as necessary.
5.These files are now uploaded to the Enterprise Portal
Check the files on the Enterprise Portal
6.In the Enterprise Portal browse to your original folder
7.Check to see your files are available

KM document iview transport & the document transport in KM.

We are EP 7.0 SP 18.
I have created a KM document iview in dev system and set the Path to document porperty of the document iview to guid of a document in KM.
Transported both the iview and KM content to QA system, epa and kmc files.
The iview fails to load. After, intial debugging. I found that the GUID is changed for the KM document after transport. Is it normal? In that case how are the KM document iviews going to work.
PLease, let me know the fix.

See i m telling you the exact phase of transport how you can do but some part is missing from your end...
System Admin->Transport->Export-> Portal COntent>Click on respective folder>Make the transport package>
When the package is made --> than again Add on folder level and Add All objects to transport package or you can define single -2 AFter that
Mandatory :
In Right Property Editor - Resolve Refrence is "Yes" mode
second Transport mode is in "data_and _acl"
Select all added item (ivews package) and click on export->Start Export>Download the file. Same as when you uploaded your fle in another server in Importing the file.
This will helpful to you and know which part you are missing.

Problem in transporting change document

Hi guys,
I have created one change document for customized field.
I m getting problem while transporting this change document.
The view is not generating in production system.
Function group is coming blank for change document object in production.
Is there other way of generating the change document ???

Fetch Details of Transport Management Documents with Document IDs.

Hi,
I have a requirement in which I have to fetch details like Partner IDs, Transportation mode etc. for various TM documents like Freight Order, Forwarding Agreement etc on the basis of their Document IDs.
I could find that Documents are stored as Business Objects in SAP TM system which we can explore with transaction /BOBF/CONF_UI.
Could anyone please help me further with how can I fetch the details for a TM document from Business Objects.

The only way to fetch data from BOBF is to dig in a standard way, i can only suggest some code with methods.You can use them as ref. to fetch required data.
This is a sample to get your Freight order root , key is your parent Key.
DATA:
           lt_key               TYPE /bobf/t_frw_key,
          lt_root              TYPE /scmtms/t_tor_root_k,
          lo_srvmgr            TYPE REF TO /bobf/if_tra_service_manager.
CALL METHOD lo_srvmgr->retrieve
         EXPORTING
           iv_node_key = /scmtms/if_tor_c=>sc_node-root
           it_key      = lt_key
         IMPORTING
           et_data     = lt_root.
similarly you can use associations to fetch further nodes from BOBF.
CALL METHOD lo_srvmgr->retrieve_by_association
         EXPORTING
           iv_node_key    = /scmtms/if_tor_c=>sc_node-root
           it_key         = lt_key
           iv_association = /scmtms/if_tor_c=>sc_association-root-stop_first
           iv_fill_data   = abap_true
           iv_edit_mode   = /bobf/if_conf_c=>sc_edit_read_only
         IMPORTING
           et_data        = lt_stop
           et_target_key = lt_stop_key.

BW Document Management - transport of documents

Hello there,
i have a question concerning the management of BI Documents in BW 3.5.
Is it possible to transport Documents which were created on the development server to the consolidation and the production server?
For example i have some documents attached to infoobjects. The documents are created on the development machine, but are also needed for the end users on the production server.
In transport connection i can see all kinds of bw objects, but no documents. If i select an infoobject for transport, i can pick up all attached update rules ,info sources, etc., but no attached documents.
I would be grateful for any clarification.

there is no other solution , only report RHSOBJCH can be used
Report RHSOBJCH adjusts the transport objects PDST, PDST_LSO,..., that
are used to transport personnel planning objects. The transport objects
need to be adjusted, whenever a new infotype is delivered by SAP or
created in the customer system. We can't deliver the adjustment, because
the transport object contains both the SAP infotypes as well as the
customer infotypes.
Therefore you should select all entries in report RHSOBJCH and add them
to the transport object. This needs to be done after each upgrade and
after the creation of a customer infotype.
You should run the report both in source and target system BEFORE
transporting the appraisal templates.
When transporting PD objects to your productive environment
you should pay attention whether objects are involved in the transport,
which already exist in the productive system.
This is described under 5.a) in note 138411,

Transporting Change document Object from development to quality

Hi All,
I have created a change document object from SCDO for my custom table. Now I want to transport this object from development server to quality server.
As while creating Objects some enteries are made into standard table CDHDR and CDPOS which is client dependant so how to work this object on another client.
Do I need to create seperate objects on quality server and then on production server?

use transport connection to collect the objects to request, rsa1->transprot connection.
use infocube as starting point to collect objects, left side choose 'object type', middle frame choose 'infocube' expand 'select objects', locate/search your infocube' and 'transfer', it will go to right side.
in right up, there are buttons, click 'mode' and choose manual, and grouping 'only necessary objects', and execute, this will collect infocube and required objects like infoobjects, infoarea, etc.
after that change grouping 'in dataflow before' and execute, this will collect update rules, ods, infosource, transfer rules, datasource assigned etc.
remember to assign source system, click yellow box with X icon and mark the source system.
after that use grouping 'in dataflow afterwards' to collect query, web template, role etc.

Transport change docuement object

Created a change document object in SCDO as local object.
Now if I have to transport it, I don't find a way to change the development class. Do I have to assign individual components to the transport like the structures generated, function group generated etc.,

Hi,
Change the Pakage of the function Group ; all the item in that particular group be assigned a same request and pakage.
for that go to
SE80--->Enter function group name
Right click on function group name
More functions--->Change Pakage assignment.
those who which r not in that particular function group ; u have to manually assign to that particular group.

pl. follow this simple steps to determine the route automatically.
1. define the routes and stages. (from which place to place u r sending the goods).
it is under IMG=LOGISTIC EXECUTION=SHIPPING AND TRANSPORTATION= BASIC SHIPPING FUNCTIONS= ROUTES= DEFINE ROUTES AND STAGES.
2. define the tranportation zones. (under same menu under route determination).
3. define the transportation groups.
4. maintain transporation zone for ur country and shipping point.
5. assign storage conditions to ur plant shipping pointstorage location - it is for to determine the storage location automatically while delivery screen appears.
SHIPPING POINT DETERMINATION: in easy steps.
1.define shipping conditions.
2.define loading groups.
3. assign shipping conditions plantloading groups+ shipping point+manual shipping point.
here u issue would resolved definetely.

Transporting KM documents and TREX indexes

Hi,
We are planning to transport KM contents with folder permissions and their asscoiated TREX indexes to a new set of EP-KMC and TREX system.
Can KM migration tool be used for transporting contents from one server to another with permissions.. Or shud we use ICE? Is there any recommended way ?
How do we transport serach indexes from one server TREx installion to another of the same version..
Any help ?

Hi Bharathwaj,
At the moment, the normal way to transport KM content (including ACL) is the ICE way. There are some known restrictions, see http://help.sap.com/saphelp_nw04/helpdata/en/e2/61701deb253242bea2ebeafa190e83/frameset.htm , but if you can live with that, it's the most straight forward way.
I'm unsure if the migration tool can do that / how easy that would be; never used it.
A real KM transport tool will be part of the next major release...
TREX indexes are not transportable at the moment. You have to re-create them on the target system.

Transport document attached to infoobject from development to qualification

Hi Experts,
I am facing issues with transporting document attached to one infoobject.
I tried to transport this by going into RSA1-documents-attributes and taking the logical and physical ID's. But it did not work.
I tried transnporting the table entries BDSCONT8 and BWCONTMAST, but of no use.
Could you please let me know the procedure to transport the document attached to the infoobject.
Could you please let me know how to check where these documents are stored. I have no Idea if these are stored in BDS.

Stock Transport Order for Intra Company Code Plants (UB Document Type)

Hi All,
I have a doubt with respect to Intra Company Code Stock Transport Order (Document Type: UB).
When you do Post Goods Issue (PGI) with reference to Outbound Delivery, Accounting Document is generated.
But, when you do Goods Receipt with reference to Outbound Delivery, Accounting Document is not generated.
I am OK with the Receiving part.
But, I am not clear about the Issue part.
Please clarify this doubt.

In STO, the issuing plant stock is credited and receiving plant stock is debited at the PGI from supplying plant. Then at the receiving plant accounting entry is not generated as the receiving plant stock is already debited at PGI accounting entry in the supplying plant.

KM Document transport from 2004 to 2004s without losing the versions

Hello,
We have a problem to transport our documents from the KM in 2004 to the KM in 2004s without loosing the versions.
We cant use ICE because we would lose the versions.
And we dont want migrate the 2004 system to 2004s. We have both systems already running parallel.
I hope some one can post an alternative way for this transport.

I did not test this, but...
If you are in FSDB mode, maybe you can copy the entire folder of the 2004 portal to the 2004s one.
You will lose autorisations in the portal, but the versions should be there.
If you are not using FSDB, maybe you can give a try with webdav.
Until someone tell me that I'm wrong...
