Transport of Customizations from ECC 5.0 to ECC 6.0

Hi,
We have some customizations done in ECC 5.0, which we now want to implement in ECC 6.0 (Freshly Installed). Can we transport these customizations directly to ECC 6.0 (after checking the release notes to see if any functionality has changed between the versions, which would effect the customizations).
If not, is there some other method which you would suggest.

Hi,
SAP typically does not support transports between different releases for consistency reasons. SAP will usually explicitly document where it is possible (usually in a SAP note).  I personally have not seen one for mySAP ERP 2004 and 2005.
If you do transport between releases SAP can't validate that the transport was successful (i.e. all table entries and data dictionary entries are consistent logically and from a business configuration perspective).
I think you have three options:
1. copy your mySAP ERP 2004 system to the "new install" server and upgrade it to mySAP ERP 2005.
2. Install a new mySAP 2004 system, do initial configuration, import your transports, and then upgrade it.
3. Install a new mySAP ERP 2005 and manually recreate the configurations.
All have pros and cons. I would usually recommend #3 as your configurators will have documented their configurations in detail so it should not be too difficult to re-implement them (right?)
I hope this helps,
Mike.

  • How to CIF enterprise Change Management ECM, from ECC to APO

    Dear All.
I am facing problems during CIF process for ECM (Enterprise Change Management) from ECC to APO.
Every change into Material Master, BOM, etc, we must to create one Change Number (CC01) and link with the master data that we are changing.
But when we are changing the BOM status to 02 - Inactive for a specific period, and then transport this information from ECC to APO using Core Interface, into APO the BOM, in this case PPDS, will be changed for the Whole Period. It means that the PPDS will be set as Inactive into APO being set to become inactive in the future on ECC.
    Thank you all.

Somebody knows where I can found information regarding Core Interface for ECM (Enterprise Change Management).
    Thank you all.

  • Transport of Global Parameters from ECC to SCM

We have tried to set up RSA1 in our SCM development systems for both F&R and EWM to allow us to transfer calendars, UOMs etc from ECC to these systems but have hit a couple of snags...
We have the following system/client structures for the F&R SCM system:
    Development                    Quality Assur.                  Production
    DF0 260 (Golden)                 QF0 360                              PF0 960
    DF0 261 (Unit Test)
    DF0 262 (Perf. Test)
    And for BI we have:
    DB0 120                                QB0 220                             PB0 920
For the QA and Production instances, we do not have an issue, since the limitation of having only one BI client per system doesn't matter as we only have one client to connect.
But for the Development systems, currently it is the DF0 261 client that is connected to the DB0 120 BI client. We want to be able to pull the data from our ECC golden client (DE2 700) into each of the DF0 clients. But when we try and run RSA1 in any other client than 261, we get an error telling us that only one client can connect to BI and we must work in that client.
I thought we could maybe get around it by simply running report RSIMPCUST in a batch job, but cannot see how to save a variant with the source client name in it since this is always greyed out when you run it online. I guess if I maintain the BI system as the default client for each of these F&R systems in SCC4 it might work, but I don't know what else uses this default client value?
Does anyone know of any workarounds for this? It would be really nice to be able to synchronize all systems (especially as the link is between two non-BI systems, so the BI restriction should not even apply). If we have to go back to the current approach of manually updating the development systems for any changes in ECC then we may as well use that for all clients and just transport the changes. It is not a good solution though...
    Thanks,
    Luke

there is some explanation to what you have mentioned in Re: Factory Calendar
this talks about calendars and is relevant till SCM 4.x
I would imagine the situation would be the same for UOM
In SCM 5 you have the option to update the tables, Rebuild the tables and also a simulation option

  • Best practice data source from ECC 6.0 for legal consolidation in BPC NW7.5

    Hi there,
after scanning every message in this forum for "data source" I wonder if there isn't any standard approach from SAP to extract consolidation data from ECC 6.0. I have to say that my customer is not using New g/l so far and therefore the great guide "how to get balances from ECC 6.0 ..." does not fully work for us.
Coming from the old world of EC-CS there is the first option to go via the GLT3 table. This option requires clever customization and the need to keep both GLT0 and GLT3 in line. Who has experiences regarding maintenance of these tables in a production environment?
We therefore plan to use data source 0FI_GL_4 which contains all line items to the financial documents posted. Does this approach make sense or will it fail because of performance issues?
    Any help is appreciated!
    Kind regards,
    Dierk

    Hi Dierk,
Do you have a need for the level of detail provided by the 0FI_GL_4 extractor? Normally I would recommend going for the basic 0FI_GL_6 extractor, which provides a much more manageable data volume since it only gives the periodic activity and balances as well as a much smaller selection of characteristics. Link: [http://help.sap.com/saphelp_nw70/helpdata/en/0a/558cabb2e19a4db3097b81bba4fd0e/frameset.htm]
Despite this initial recommendation, every client I've had has eventually had a need for the level of detail provided by the 0FI_GL_4 extractor (or the New G/L equivalent - 0FI_GL_14). Most BW systems can handle the output of the line-item extractors without much issue, but you should test using production data and make sure your system sizing takes into account the load.
The major problem you can run into with the line-item extractors is that if your delta somehow gets compromised it can take a very long time (days, sometimes weeks) to reinitialize and this can cause a large load in your ECC and BW system. Also, for the first transport to production, it is important to plan time to initialize the delta.

  • Pulling of Exchange Rate data from ECC to BI

    Hi All,
we are having an requirement to pull TCURR Table Exchange Rate data from ECC to BI.
If anybody worked on this scenario could you please share valuable inputs regarding this.
I gone through this  SDN forum link: Re: Automated Exchange Rate Loading in BPC NW ( please share some more details regarding this )
    Regards
    Amit

    Hi All,
I hope this will help you to pull Exchange rate data from ECC Table : TCURR  to SAP BI System.
ECC Steps : Creation of generic datasource
    1) Create generic Transaction Data source Using TCode : RSO2 with name ZTCURR and then press create Button.
    2) Input Applic. Component:  FI-GL and give description.
    3) Input View/Table: TCURR and Press save Button.
    4) This will take you to extract structure of data source ZTCURR. In this structure select respective field from the selection field option (In future we will use it in BI info package) and then press save button.
    5) Use Tcode:  RSA3 to check the data by giving custom data source ZTCURR name.
Note:In this case we are extracting full data from TCURR table. If your project demands you can use delta specific field.
    SAP BI 7 Steps
    1) Go to BI system, TCode: RSA1--> Source System-> Replicate metadata, then you can see generic data source "ZTCURR" in your BI data source tree.
    2) Maintain Info cube Structure same like table : TCURR,
ECC Field      ECC DATA TYPE                               BI Field     BI Data Type
    KURST     CHAR                          -
      >                 ZKURST     CHAR (Length 4)
    FCURR     CUKY                          -
      >          ZFCURR     CHAR (Length 5)
    TCURR     CUKY                          -
      >          ZTCURR     CHAR (Length 5)
    GDATU     CHAR                          -
      >          ZGDAT       CHAR (Length 8)
    UKURS     DEC                             -
      >          ZUKURS     NUMBER ( Key Figure )
    FFACT     DEC                             -
      >          ZFFACT     NUMBER ( Key Figure )
    TFACT     DEC                             -
      >          ZTFACT     NUMBER ( Key Figure )
    =========================================================================================
    3) Conversion of default format "YYYY/MM/DD" to "YYYYMMDD".
In Transformation: "GDATU" is number format, not date format, so we need to write start routine in transformation.
With the Help of below code you can convert default format
    "YYYY/MM/DD" to "YYYYMMDD".
    DATA: DATE      TYPE CHAR10,
              L_INDEX   TYPE SY-INDEX.
      LOOP AT SOURCE_PACKAGE ASSIGNING <SOURCE_FIELDS>.
        L_INDEX = SY-TABIX.
        CALL FUNCTION 'CONVERSION_EXIT_INVDT_OUTPUT'
          EXPORTING
            INPUT  = <SOURCE_FIELDS>-GDATU
          IMPORTING
            OUTPUT = DATE.
        CONCATENATE DATE+6(4)
                    DATE+3(2)
                    DATE+0(2)
        INTO <SOURCE_FIELDS>-GDATU.
MODIFY SOURCE_PACKAGE FROM <SOURCE_FIELDS> INDEX L_INDEX TRANSPORTING GDATU.
    ENDLOOP.
Note : Customize above ABAP code according to your client requirement.
    ==============================================================================================
    4) Calculation of Month End Rate----> Means last working day of month
Please refer below solution  ( sent on 3rd June 2011 )  to calculate Month Rate
Go to BI transformation and write formula in ZGDAT field. In this case add GDATU as source field of rule and write below formula.
    *Last working day of month Formula *    :             LAST_WORKINGDAY_MONTH( GDATU, '' )
Last working day is calculated  based on the data maintained in the ECC TCODE : SCAL ( SAP Calendar )
    ==============================================================================================
    5)  CALMONTH calculation:  conversion of YYYYDDMM format   to YYYYMM format.
This below given ABAP code helps you to convert GADTU: YYYYDDMM format   to CALMONTH : YYYYMM format.
In BI transformation write field routine in CALMONTH field  to display  date in this YYYYMM format.
    DATA : L_GDATU TYPE tys_SC_1-GDATU.
    CLEAR L_GDATU.
    CONCATENATE SOURCE_FIELDS-GDATU0(4) SOURCE_FIELDS-GDATU4(2)
                INTO L_GDATU.
    RESULT = L_GDATU.

  • Issue in transfer of data from ECC to APO

    Hi All,
I have a requirement of transferring data from ECC to APO. I am using EXIT_SAPLCMAT_001 fro this purpose. The problem is, I need to transfer the data of a field that is not present in cif_matloc but present in /sapapo/matloc.
How should I proceed...Please help....this is an urgent requirement
    Thanks & Regards,
    SriLalitha

    Hi,
you may want to go to the transaction /SAPAPO/SNP_SFT_PROF
Determine Forecast of Replenishment Lead Time
    Use
In this field, you specify how the extended safety stock planning determines
    the forecast of the replenishment
lead time (RLT). The following values are available:
    Supply Chain
The system determines the RLT forecast using the supply chain structure by
adding the corresponding production, transportation, goods receipt, and goods
issue times. If there are alternative procurement options, the system always
    takes the
    longest
    option into account.
    Master Data
The system determines the RLT forecast from the location product master
    data.
    Master Data/ Supply Chain
First, the system determines the RLT forecast from the location product
master data. If no RLT forecast can be determined, the system determines the
forecast using the supply chain structure (as described under
    Supply
    Chain
    Dependencies
You can retrieve the replenishment lead time forecast yourself by using the
    GET_LEADTIME
method of the Business Add-In (BAdI) /SAPAPO/SNP_ADV_SFT.
Replenishment Lead Time in Calendar Days
Number of calendar days needed to obtain the product, including its
    components, through in-house
    production or external
    procurement.
    Use
The replenishment lead time (RLT) is used in the enhanced methods of safety
stock planning in Supply Network Planning (SNP). The goal of safety
stock planning is to comply with the specified service level, in order
to be prepared for unforeseen demand that may arise during the replenishment
lead time. The longer the RLT, the higher the planned safety stock level.
    Dependencies
The field is taken into account by the system only if you have specified
master data or master data/supply chain in the RLT: Determine
Forecast field of the safety stock planning profile used.
    Hope this helps.
The RLT from ECC is in MARC-WZEIT which is transferred to APO in structure /SAPAPO/MATIO field CHKHOR.
May be if you maintain the setting in the profile, you may get the value in RELDT.
    Thanks.

    Hi,
We are also in process of moving the configuration data from ECC (Ehp 5.0) to MDG Hub (Ehp 6.0), looking for the option copying tables in transport request and moving the transport request to MDG-C.
Appreciate your suggestion or best practices on the movement configuration data, is there is any best option to move the configuration data from ECC (Ehp 5.0) to MDG-C Hub (Ehp 6.0) as both the system on different Enhancement pack.

    Hi,
I am using PI 7.11. Its a fresh system so as of now there is no interfaces. Just a two days back only we have established the RFC connections ECC to PI and PI to ECC.  After these configuration we have transported one interface File to Proxy scenario. Strangly some of the messages are comming from ECC to PI and its failed because of no receiver found. Other than File to Proxy we dont have any scenario in PI.  Please find the below message details.
    Service : BS_SAP_XXX_200

      </n0:QueryCodeListRequest
This is a syschronous scenario that to this interface is running at specified at on everyday.
Can you pls let me know what might be the problem?
    Thanks & Regards,
    Puru

    Hi,
I assume this scenario is not the one you transported for File to proxy.
This is Generic Value help Service which is triggered because of some event configuration on ECC or some report calling outbound proxy with default runtime (PI runtime is default). Of course this will fail in PI because you haven't configured it in PI.
Check following: SWF_BAM for events on ECC.
Check if any report is creating SalesOrder, PurchaseOrder etc at that particular time.
Issue is on ECC side not on PI side.

  • Alerts from ECC

Chek these... i have a doubt which is bold below.....
    Alert Rules
Message-based alerting is used to notify about errors that occur during message processing. It is based on the alert framework, among other things, so you can leverage the functions it provides, such as sending the alert by e-mail, fax, or SMS.
By defining rules within the RWB, you can filter the monitored messages according to error code, error category, and message header attributes for sender and receiver. For instance, if a customer only wants to be informed immediately when his core business scenarios fail, the message-based alerting can be restricted to the respective interfaces only.
    -     Use RWB to define Alert Rules within PI
    -     Use ABAP for defining rules within ECC and generate an alert from ECC to PI by passing the right variables.
    My question is
how do to this.....how to define rules within ECC and generate  an alert from ECC to PI by passing the right variables...?
any idea guys....i am going with ALRTCATDEF...

The Error Message is <b>Assign a Base Category to the Product.</b>
I have the Base Hierarchy R3PRODSTYP Assigned to the Application
    Product.
And i cannot edit the Hierarchy or Categories since they are Downloaded
    from ECC.
Please let me know how to Specify a Base Hierarchy/Category for the
Equipments to get Downloaded as Individual Objects.
    Thanks & Regards

  • Downloading Material Master data from ECC to CRM

Hello friends, I am working in CRM 5.0., I am finding difficulty in downloading Material master created in ECC to a Product Master in CRM. Can you please tell me how to use Customizations to download the material master to product master.

    Hi Rghunandan,
To carry out the product replication from ECC to CRM,you need to carry out the foll steps.
First download the customizing objects using R3AS
    DNL_CUST_PROD0 u2013 Material number conversions
    DNL_CUST_PROD1 u2013 Product : Categories
    DNL_CUST_PROD3 u2013 Material : R/3 sales status
    DNL_CUST_SPROD u2013 Sales product item
    DNL_PLANT - Plant
To download products foll the steps below
    1.Defining Product ID Settings  -COMCPRFORMAT
Cross-Application Components  SAP Products  Basic Settings  Define Output Format and Storage Form of Product Ids
This activity describes how to synchronize the product Ids in the CRM system and the R/3 system.
The material master length is R/3 is defined in transaction code OMSL and is set to 18.  (also check note no. 545824)
2.Make sure that CRM item categories and R/3 item categories are the same.
In CRM, item categories and item category groups are seen via
Customer Relationship Management  Transactions  Basic Settings
    3.Selecting specific objects for replication : R3AC1
    Use adapter object MATERIAL
Use filter settings tab and specify the material or a range of products you want to download .Use atble name MARA,field MATNR use an approriate operator and mention theproduct you want to downlaod.
