Transport query views

I have a workbook containing query views based on multiple queries of different infoproviders.
How do I transport workbook/query-views/roles/queries and in what sequence.
Thanks

Hi,
Roles and query are the two object which are independent. you can gather all of them in one transport request and transport it.
For workbook/ Query view the dependent object is query. Only care you need to take care is that the query should be their in your transport if you are transporting the query for the first time in the target system.
Hope this helps!!!

  • TP problems, transporting the query views

    Hello Expert's
I created two query views on the exiting querys, now i transporting the two views,
How to do transfer the views,
    i am confusing following procedures,
    1. In RSA1 -> Transport Connector ->Object types -> query views ->Two query views are selected. YES (or)No
    2. If selecting views i am not selecting the query and query elements, only the views. YES (or) No
3 And i saved the querys in Package and created a TP. YES (or) No
if selecting the query views after that what i has done
    please suggest me suitable answer
    it urgent
    thanks in advance
    aravind.s

    Hello Anand,
    1. In RSA1 -> Transport Connector ->Object types -> query views ->Two query views are selected. YES (or)No
Yes, Collect only the view if the Query is already transported. If the query is not transported then select the Query with Dataflow afterwards it will collect all the views as well.
    2. If selecting views i am not selecting the query and query elements, only the views. YES (or) No
Yes, if the query are already transported.
3 And i saved the querys in Package and created a TP. YES (or) No
Yes, definitely you have to capture these views in a package and transport request.
Once the views are collected in a transport request , release the request and inform the transport team to import to the target system (Qual or Prod)
Note : In BI/BW BEx tranports are handled differently and not like other objects such as InfoCube, InfoObject. So whenever you are working with BEx Objects make sure that you assing a transport request in the following
RSA1->Transport Connect -> BEx Icon (Truck Symbol) -> Assign Package and Request using the Assign Button.
If you transport system is configured to capture the BEx objects during creation or modification then the above step is not required.

  • Error while saving a query view

    Hi All,
I am trying to save a query view in my favourites and it is failing with below message:
Namespace '/BIC/' must be set to 'changeable' (transaction SE06)
I have created many query view so far, this issue has just started. Could you please help us with this, as it is very urgent.
    Thanks and regards,
    Shashidhar.

    Hi,
Please set the setting as described in note 337950, it will help to fix the issue.
    solution:
    Releasing the object changeability
This setting is only intended for production or test systems that are
set to not changeable. It is not suitable for development systems.  For
this reason, this setting is only effective if at least one of the
conditions specified under 'Cause and prerequisites' is met.
Go to the Administrator Workbench (Data Warehousing Workbench,
transaction RSA1) -> 'Goto' -> 'Transport Connection' and choose 'Object
Changeability'. To display the function, you may have to enlarge the
window or press the arrow keys nearby.
In the following dialog box you can select the object types that you
want to be changeable, even though the system is set to not changeable.
These objects are not connected to the transport system; this means that
no transport dialog boxes are displayed. This only applies, however, if
the preconditions mentioned under 'Cause and prerequisites' are met.
First, after releasing an object type, only objects that are original,
that is, those that were created in this system  can be changed. This
prevents changes to objects that were imported into the system. However,
changes to these objects may be overwritten again during a new
    transport.
You can set all objects to changeable (even the ones imported into the
system) using the context menu (right mouse button), although this
setting is not recommended for the reasons mentioned above.
    Thanks,
    Venkat

  • BEX Query Views - Reqd in PRD but need to create in Dev - Data Issues

    Hello Bw Gurus
    BI 7.0 ECC 4.7
We have a BEx Query in BI production which uses a work centre hierarchy. The user wants to create query views on this query to use in BI production.
Our normal transport procedure of a new development object would be BI DEV - QA - PRD
However the DEV environment does not have all the work centres and the data of PRD. So if the query view needs to be created in DEV then we could not set up the view correctly as there is not the workcenters or the data in DEV.
    Hopefully that makes sense?
Apart from allowing Query Views to be created in BI PRD directly is there any solution?
    Best,
    Steve Jones

If you need exact char values for workcenter to create your views you can quickly create the master data (just the values you want) in Dev and use them to create the views...

    Is that true?
    2. Is there a way to detach views form a workbook because when ever I hit refresh to refresh the whole workbook it is jumping to target of type saved view
This is a big problem for all of us. Not able to refersh the whole workbook ata a time.

  • All query views has been deleted??

    Hello
We have the phenomen, that suddenly all our query views has been deleted. We checked table RSZWVIEW and we didn't found any 'active' one anymore.
    (system production 3.5)
So fare we don't think, that the users have deleted the views, as they don't have any authorization for that and on the other hand it would be to much views.
I am totally confused and looking in tables, traces etc. I have no clou what happened.
Has someone an idea, where to look, investigate... for that strange and ugly behaviour.
Thank a lot for your ideas
    Christian

    Hello Henning
It makes feel good to know, that this disaster is not just in our system possible.
I am totally without any idea, why all views have disappeared. So fare we had the following:
    -  the user are not authorized to delete views
    -  it happened already the second time.
    -  we checked every log, statistic files ect. but no clou, what is happening
    -  however we have 2x third parties tool in place ( Cundus and Cubserve) - where we suggested first it could cause that problem, but also here we didn't discover any cause.
    What we did so fare:
    - we transport all views from prod to our dev system back (each morning).
    - and we activated the log file for table RSZWVIEW.
    - and we will write an OSS
Did you do some other tests or actions to discover? do you use third party tools?
I expect, that it will happen again and I hope to get more information from the log file of table RSZWVIEW..
I think we stay in contact until we will know the cause or solution of this issue.
    Best regards
    Christian

  • Create query views on WAD

    Hi all!,
In BI netweaver 7, is recommended to allow final users have access to create Query Views from WAD/Productive environment?,  this is because when production is closed, final users cannot save Query Views because transport error is generated.
We saw on help.sap.com: “Note that you cannot create query views on the Web if the standard transport system is active because this requires the transport request dialog box”.
Any suggestions are welcome, hope you could help us.
    Thanks.

    Hi,
you have to change the 'Object Changeability' setting for Query View in your productiv system. Then there will be no Transport System connection and you'll get no error message.
Go to the Administrator Workbench (Data Warehousing Workbench, transaction RSA1) -> 'Goto' -> 'Transport Connection' and choose 'Object Changeability'. To display the function, you may have to enlarge the window or press the arrow keys nearby.
In the following dialog box you can select the object types that you want to be changeable, even though the system is set to not changeable.
This task should be done by your System Administrator because additional steps could be necessary.
Take a look at SAP Note 337950 which describes general steps.

  • Query View name not saved in "Analysis Grid Properties" under Data Provider

    Hi BW World;)
    We are on BI 7.0
I have created a BI workbook which contains a query view.
However when we go into design mode and then "analysis grid properties" for this query view then "change data provider" it does not show the query view name but the query name. (we have saved the workbook)
    Is this the normal scenario?
Surely should show the "query view name " and not the "query name" as confuses what data provider is being used?
    Is this a bug?
    Best
Stevo.... Points of course... Thanks in advance.;)
Edited by: bw4eva999 on Sep 10, 2009 4:40 PM     spelling

    Hi,
You have created a workbook on top of a Query View which is again depends on a Query. Now the base for Query View is a Query. So the underlying Data Provider for a workbook is a Query.
Hence when you go to Properties of grid->Change Data Provider,it shows the Query and the InfoCube, but not the Query View.
So this is not a bug and this how its been designed.
If you click for the Information of that workbook,it will show the Query and Info Provider, but not the query View.
Though it looks like wierd,it is not a bug.

  • Create A Query View!

    Hi ALL
how to create a Query View for TeMplates?????
    Thanks
    BI Learner

    hello,
Query views are saved version of query output with particulr navigational state
The advantages of query views are:
Query views can be used as the data providers when you are creating web templates.
They are also used as jump targets. They are created after you execute the query, from the Save button, you can Save View global, or save as jump target.
They can also be used to  format the query e.g hide some characterictic, display/hide result rows, sorting keyfigures etc.
    Reg migration:
All existing SAP BW 3.x queries can be edited with the SAP NetWeaver 2004s BEx Query Designer without further manual adaptation.
After editing with the SAP NetWeaver 2004s Query Designer, queries cannot be edited with the SAP BW 3.x BEx Query Designer anymore.
Queries created or adapted with the SAP NetWeaver 2004s BEx Query Designer will still appear in the Open Dialog of the SAP BW 3.x Query Designer, but they cannot be opened anymore
    Views:
Query Views that were created before upgrade/migration will still run after a query has been changed with the SAP NetWeaver 2004s BEx Query Designer
In general query views do not need to be migrated

    Dhanya

  • How to Create/Modify/Delete a query view from the web template in BI 7.0

    All:
In BW 3.5, the <b>Query Selection View</b>  web item was introduced for users to create a query view to save the navigational state of a query. This web item was also available to modify and delete an existing query view.
The Query Selection View web item <u>does not</u> exist in BI 7.0. I see the drop down web item can be used to display the query views associated to a query.
Can anyone share how to create, modify, save or delete a <b>query view</b> on the web in BI 7.0
    Thanks,
    Kumar

Sanjay, we experienced the same issue. Below are a few pieces of information that may be of help: 1-The Save As button on the 0ANALYZER template saves the query to the portal. From Bex Web or Bex Analyzer, you have no access to these saved views. We created a ZANALYZER copy of the 0ANALYZER template and removed the Save As button. 2- If you right mouse click on any item in the query results grid of Bex Web, you get a small menu. Clicking on the menu item Save View will save the view to BI. You do not have the ability to delete the saved views from Bex Web. However, you can delete them from Bex Analyzer. This was not an option for us since most of our users are using Bex Web. 3- On the same menu, clicking on Bookmark, saves the navigation and also opens the Internet Explorer Favorites maintence window. The navigation is saved as an entry into the users Internet Explorer favorites where they can organize and delete their entries. However, deleting the favorite does not delete the entry for the bookmark in BI. The bookmarks are stored in table RSWR_DATA. Program RSWR_BOOKMARK_REORG can be used to manage the saved bookmarks. We are loading RSWR_DATA into a chracteristic so that we can query the information in order to help us manage it. I hope this helps you and others that appear to be struggling with the issue of saved views in Bex Web.
